In this healthy, loving and natural environment, our adult dogs and puppies run freely and thrive. All of our dogs are healthy, sweet, loving, gentle, and well behaved. All are fantastic family companion dogs and are very well socialized before they go home. Families often visit our ranch and feel very safe allowing their children to visit with our dogs, puppies, horses, and barn cats. Our ranch is a very peaceful environment. Love, consistent training, and patience is what we provide to our animals every day. Long life, well being, safety, and loving homes is what we strive for when we screen our new homes. Several years ago as we began looking for a female to breed to our Harley, we spent endless hours and days researching our best options and making sure that the puppy we would bring home would be healthy, smart, and sweet. That philosophy continues and we are so happy to share our puppies with families who are looking for a new family member. We raise all of our dogs from the age of eight weeks old and we do not rush to breed. We enjoy every stage of life with them and every day with them. Each one of them has their own personality, likes, and dislikes. We know our dogs. Not having to work away from home anymore gives us the opportunity to spend every day with our dogs, horses, and barn cats. It really is a beautiful life. We also are very proud that we have been able to maintain contact and receive updates about our pups over the years. The longevity of our puppy relationships is a testament to our commitment to the life of our pups. Facebook, Instagram, texting, emailing, and other forms of technology have been amazing tools to keep in touch and see how our pups are doing. This has been even more important as some of our pups are in different States all over the United States. Every puppy and dog on this site is either our dog or a puppy from our ranch. Please see the guestbook as there are several testimonials from families who have had our pups over the years. There are several pictures of these families with their pups who live in several states all over the United States. Thank you so much for visiting. Feel free to contact us via this site, our Facebook page, our google business page, Instagram, or a simple phone call. We welcome visitors by appointment. Share 0 Shares When looking for Golden Retriever puppies for sale in California, it is important to keep the quality of the breeder in mind. You want to make sure that the breeders use healthy parents that have undergone testing for genetic health as well as health for eyes, heart, hips, and elbows. Golden Retrievers are prone to cancer , so a knowledgeable breeder is imperative. Consider looking into a breeder who uses English Golden Retrievers in their program. English lines have been shown to have up to a two-year longer lifespan than purely American lines. English Golden Retrievers are often lighter than standard American Goldens. Another aspect to consider when looking for a Golden Retriever puppy in California is if the parents have any Championship titles. This could be in conformation, obedience, agility, or even hunting. Depending on what you want to accomplish with your puppy, these aspects might be important to you. If you are wanting a purebred Golden Retriever, it is also advisable to get a puppy from an AKC registered breeder. It is a small family kennel that breeds English Golden Retrievers. They are passionate about raising quality dogs bred from genetically healthy parents that also pass their health certifications. The puppies are raised inside the home and treated like one of their own dogs. They are well socialized and go through a great enrichment program during their developmental time at Nicholberry farms. Many puppies from this breeder have gone on to become certified therapy dogs. There is even a part of their website dedicated to their puppies that have gone on to be working dogs from therapy to bomb detection to acting! They clearly love their puppies and are a great opinion for considering a future furry family member. We are a northern California breeder near Sacramento that prides itself on choosing our breeding dogs for top health, temperament, and beauty that conforms to the breed standard. Our dogs are selected from champion lines with health clearances. We will only breed dogs that pass all of these tests, so we can continue reaching to improve the breed through imposing high standards for our dogs. We breed dogs from these lines to continue a heritage of excellence in the breed. This standard is different from the AKC standard for golden retrievers, but both are accepted and licensed. The English type should have a blockier and fuller head, shorter muzzle, lower ear set, rounder eyes, stouter body structure, as well as a lighter color than the American type see comparison figure below. As an adult, it has been a pleasure to now show and selectively breed these beautiful English Golden Retrievers. Raising our English Golden Retrievers is a family endeavor that includes everyone from the youngest to the oldest. It is wonderful to make family memories with our dogs and children together. Our English Goldens are first and foremost pets who live and play among our family. Our children are involved from showing our dogs to whelping the puppies. Our puppies go home to their new families very loved and well socialized. Should a French Bulldog Mix take after their Frenchie parent, they will be a small companion breed that bonds closely with their families. They tend to have an energetic, playful personality and love nothing more than being with their favorite humans. French Bulldogs tend to be friendly, playful, and affectionate dogs that get along with just about everyone. They tend to get along with children, other dogs, and other pets. They will even warm up quickly to strangers as long as they have been properly socialized. If the other parent breed has a similar temperament, then you should be able to expect the same from a French Bulldog Mix. You can also meet the mother in person to see what her temperament is like and the behavior she is modeling for the puppies. The breeder should have started some training and socialization, but it is up to you to continue to train and socialize a puppy once you get them home. Frenchies are highly adaptable dogs. They do well in apartments as well as larger homes. However, as a brachycephalic breed, they are extra sensitive to heat and also sensitive to the cold. They also do not like being left alone for long periods of time. If the other parent breed is similar, then you can expect a Frenchie Mix to also be a highly adaptable dog. The other parent will introduce their own traits and some potential quirks, so you do want to ask the breeder about them. They could inherit none of the conditions common to their parent breeds, or they could inherit some or all of them. They can also be prone to allergies, have sensitive skin, and also a sensitive stomach. Good breeding practices will make a huge difference. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing issues to puppies. So, make sure you ask about the health and genetic history of both of the parents. Although French Bulldogs can sometimes be stubborn, they are eager to please and tend to be easy to train. As long as training is consistent and focused on positive praise and reward, they can be a good fit for owners of all experience levels. If the other parent breed is also easy to train, then you can expect a French Bulldog Mix to be highly trainable as well. Regardless of owner experience, there are many benefits of puppy training classes. A mixed-breed dog can inherit a coat similar to one of their parents or a coat that is a mix of both. You will also need to clean their facial wrinkles. Weekly ear checks with cleanings as needed can help prevent ear infections. As a small dog breed, a Frenchie Mix is more prone to developing dental diseases later in life. This makes good, consistent dental care for dogs even more important for them. Daily brushing with a dog-friendly toothpaste or using an enzyme toothpaste paired with cleanings at the vet when needed is ideal. Frenchies are known couch potato dogs that are happy to lay back, relax, and cuddle with you. Daily walks plus some playtime are usually enough for this affectionate little dog. Even though they like to relax, they also like to play and will be energetic when they do. They can also be athletic and compete in dog sports. As a brachycephalic breed, you do need to be careful of overexertion and overheating. But, there are plenty of ways to safely exercise flat-faced dogs to make sure your French Bulldog Mix gets enough exercise. If the other parent breed is also a low-energy breed, then you can expect something similar from a Frenchie Mix. If the other parent breed requires more activity, then you will need to be prepared for the potential of a higher energy dog. Fully-grown Frenchies usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. The other parent breed can have a big effect on this, especially if they are the mother, so make sure you ask the breeder about them. This can give you some idea of what size to expect in a fully-grown French Bulldog Mix. French Bulldogs generally live for years. Although the other parent breed may affect this slightly, you should be able to expect a similar average life span in a French Bulldog Mix. Featured French Bulldog Mix Article. To start, you should find a comfortable position for you and your Doodle. Keep in mind that your dog might pull their paw away at any given moment. If possible, first remove as much hair as possible with a clipper. Then get in with a pair of blunt-ended scissors and carefully trim the hair on the paws. You should lay scissors as flat as possible against the paw to not injure the surrounding skin. This is usually easiest done when your dog is sitting or standing. Additionally, as the hair is usually super thick on the back, you might want to use a faster speed setting to get through the dense coat. This way you can easily reach the underbelly area. You can start from the chest area, and move towards the tail. On the other hand, you can keep the upper portion of the tail longer. It will really depend on the length you want to keep your Labradoodles coat as to how much grooming you will have to do. What do I need? Hold the skin taught to protect from any discomfort, especially where you come across a knot, or matts. Like in human hair, work knots out gently, or cut through them with scissors or a matt breaker. Knots are quite common around the ears, jaw, and collar as well as behind the tops of their legs. If they wear a harness regularly, you may find matting from this too. Trim around their eyes and across the bridge of their nose between their eyes regularly — you can do this with blunt scissors, or use a little tool like the Wahl Pocket Pro, which is a little battery operated trimmer. Over bathing can reduce the oils and damage the coat. I usually bathe my dogs every weeks. Fido products are expensive, but I find them very good and this is what I use on the puppies, and my own dogs. Some vets will advocate regular plucking, others may suggest trimming the hair, but regardless, keeping the hair minimal, and the ears clean, with the use of an ear cleanser or a drying agent will reduce the risk of problems. You pop the solution into each ear and massage it for seconds and then wipe it out with a tissue — never use ear buds! Check with your vet for tips on hair removal and which solution to use. Your dogs nails should be done each time they get their coat trimmed and this is a service most dog groomers usually do as part of their clip. If you choose to do this, be sure to get your groomer, or your vet to show you how to trim the nails correctly. Grooming How frequently you choose to get your dog clipped will depend on lifestyle, how long you want their coat to be and, your regular maintenance regimes. Besides you want to enjoy that adorable puppy shagginess for a little while! The Puppy Trim Trim between their eyes so they can see Fringe should be cut so there is an inverted"V"above the nose. If the fringe is thick, it can be neatened with thinning scissors. Trim the ear length back to about 1 cm following the shape of the ear leather. Neaten the face, especially if the beard is long. The Full Clip Ears Trim the ears, following the edge of the ear leather. To gauge the length — pull forward to the nose. The length of the ear should be just short of the nose. Taper the tip of the ear. Hair on the outside of the ear should be layered on the to about 3cm, and the tip of the ear tapered. Trim back any thickness behind the ear. The underside of the ear should be shaved or cut very short underneath to allow good air flow. Trim hair inside the ear canal. Top of the head The top of the head should be natural, and cut long enough that it parts naturally by itself. To trim, pull the hair forward and up and trim to around cm. You want to be able to see the dogs eyes easily. Leave the eyelashes long — it helps to keep hair out of their eyes. Eyes Below the eye at the muzzle, trim the top of the muzzle short at an angle just under the eyes so they can see easily. This makes it easier to clean around the eyes also. Muzzle The beard and moustache should be layered and trimmed into a circular shape, rather than blunt - aim for around cm in length. Body the body can be trimmed to whatever length suits the lifestyle. Tail should be evened up. If the body is left long, the tummy can be trimmed shorter, or even shaved in summer to keep the dog cool. Trim the hair between the pads, so the pads touch the ground. Trim the nails. Taper the hind quarters to the tail gradually. Brush and trim the tail to a natural length, and trim underneath. Private Parts Shave or trim close the dogs private area to keep clean and free from matting and any dags. While the adult coat is establishing, you will need to brush multiple times a week, and I find this the best time to give your pet his first trim. It will be difficult to keep up with the matting in the longer coat, but with a trim, it is very manageable, and the beauty of the adult coat is better realized. Once your dog gets to 12 to 14 months, the adult coat will be fully established, and this is the coat you can expect to work with for your dog's adult life. I find that the picture to the right will help to clarify the instructions you will need to convey for your dog's face. It is best to print this picture and take it with you to the groomer. A three-fourths inch blade don't go shorter than one-half inch will keep your dog's coat nice and full but give a smooth consistent length all over. If you like your dogs coat longer, your groomer should have a guard they can use to achieve this. The legs are typically just a little longer than the rest of the coat if you trim the coat to three-fourths inch. FEET: The feet will need a "slipper" cut to achieve the floppy, full leg look. The leg will look like a column. TAIL: The tail needs to be de-matted and trimmed. It is also important to have the hair removed, either trimmed or pulled, inside the dog's ears. Click the grooming picture for an enlarged, printable version and take it with you to your groomer! Establish a routine that you will follow through with or you will end up with a puppy with nails that may rip or cause problems walking properly, ears that have infections, and coats that are severely matted to the skin and cause severe discomfort for your dog. These are the areas that are most prone to matting. Part the hair and brush from the base of the coat in small sections. Many people only brush the surface of the coat and do not realize the dog is matting very badly next to the skin. Remember, if you cannot maintain basic brushing and grooming on your own, then you will need to budget for using a professional groomer. You should still try to clip nails and clean ears weekly at home, and give your dog a brushing at least once a week. BATHING When you groom your puppy or dog, you will want them to have a clean coat so your scissors and clipper blades work efficiently and do not wear down more quickly. Here are some general, simple tips for basic labradoodle grooming when doing your doodle at home. Eyes: Your Labradoodle should always be able to see well and not have hair hanging and restricting vision or growing up and into the eyes from the bridge of the nose! Using blunt tipped scissors, trim the hair over the bridge of nose and in between eyes so vision is not obstructed. Hair that hangs over the eyes should be trimmed neatly across the brow blending down into the sides of the face. If your dog gets eye gunk, use eye wipes every few days to keep them clean. A Labradoodle with long ear hair does NOT look like the standard for the Labradoodle, it looks more like a Cocker spaniel. Shape the ears and blend hair neatly into the top of the head. This will help prevent infections. You can use a clipper with 10 blade for a good length in this area. If the canal has a lot of hair inside, you will need to pluck it out in very small amounts to prevent irritation. Clean ear canal with solution and then use ear powder to eliminate moisture. Paws: Trim paws in a nicely rounded shape so that hair does not hang over the paw and cannot be walked on. Completely clip hair from in between pads on bottom of feet. This is most easily done with an electric clipper and a 30 blade. Keeping the paws shaped nicely will aid in less debris attaching to feet when outside and being drug into your home. Long muzzle hair results in beards that drip with water every time your dog gets a drink. The hair on the sides of the muzzle should be even with the bottom of the lower jaw. This is an area of the body we frequently see with matting. Hair is left to grow and grow and GROW and you not realize it is severely matting close to the tail. This helps prevent matting and urine or feces from building up on the coat when your dog uses the bathroom. Body: If you like a longer coat, more brushing and maintenance will be required. Here are a couple examples of shorter cuts that most find easy to maintain. They are affectionate, loyal, jovial, funny, and friendly companions, making them a popular choice for families and individuals alike. Despite their small size, Teacup French Bulldogs are robust and energetic. They love to play and are always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war and other indoor games. They also enjoy going for walks and exploring their surroundings. Teacup French Bulldogs are not too intelligent but are highly determined. They respond well to positive reinforcement training and are eager to please their owners. They are also very adaptable and can thrive in various living situations, including apartments and small homes. While Teacup French Bulldogs are generally friendly and outgoing, they can sometimes be stubborn. They may also be prone to separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. Proper socialization and training can help prevent these issues. Teacup French Bulldogs are a popular breed among dog lovers, but they do have some health concerns that potential owners should be aware of. While many of these health issues are common in all French Bulldogs, they can be more severe in teacup-sized dogs. Breathing difficulties: Due to their small size and short snouts, they can easily develop breathing problems, which can be exacerbated by exercise or stress. This can lead to snoring, wheezing , difficulty breathing, and even unusual sounds as they sleep. Brachycephalic airway syndrome; Causing issues with the upper respiratory tract like coughing as though something is stuck. Tracheal collapse due to their fragile necks and throats. Hypoglycemia commonly affects small breeds, causing a rapid lowering of blood sugar. Hydrocephalus, where the brain fills up with liquid. Dental issues: Due to their small size, they are more prone to dental issues such as periodontal disease and tooth decay. Skin issues like skin fold pyoderma due to wrinkles. Teacup French Bulldogs require a balanced and nutritious diet to maintain their health and well-being. They should be fed high-quality dog food that is specifically formulated for small breeds. It is important to avoid overfeeding, as Teacup French Bulldogs are prone to obesity. A good feeding schedule is to offer small meals throughout the day rather than one larger one. This reduces the risk of hypoglycemia when their blood sugar gets too low. Regular brushing twice a week with a soft-bristled brush will help to remove loose hair and keep their coat shiny. Brush their teeth twice a week and use a dental canine rinse on some of the remaining days. Bathe them monthly or when extremely dirty with a mild canine shampoo. Highly absorbent canine towels will help you dry their wrinkles to prevent infection. It is also important to clean their ears bi-weekly with ear wipes to prevent infections. Nails should be trimmed monthly with pet clippers to prevent them from becoming too long and causing discomfort or injury. Exercise Teacup French Bulldogs are a small breed and do not require a lot of exercise. However, they still need daily physical activity for 20 to 30 minutes to keep them healthy and prevent obesity. It is important to avoid overexertion, especially in hot weather, as Teacup French Bulldogs are prone to heatstroke. Therefore, always carry a filled portable water bottle for them during walks. These dogs are eager to please, but they can also be stubborn. Here are some tips for training your Teacup French Bulldog: To train these pups, start training early in puppyhood, use positive reinforcement, and stay consistent. Socialization, obedience training, and crate training are the most important things to teach your Teacup Frenchie. Additional costs such as food, toys, grooming, and veterinary care can add up quickly. Be wary of breeders who offer Teacup French Bulldogs at significantly lower prices, as they may not be breeding healthy dogs. You can also visit the breeder to see the exact size of the litter parents. Adopting a Teacup Frenchie Adoption can be the best way to go when getting this dog. However, due to their rarity and high prices, getting these pups in shelters or adoption agencies may be a task. Take the Quiz Crossing a French Bulldog with a smaller dog breed The first and most obvious way of creating mini French Bulldogs is by crossbreeding a standard Frenchie with another small dog breed like a Yorkie or a Toy Poodle. Naturally, the pups will be mixes of the two breeds, so the breeding needs to be repeated across several generations until the puppies have all the physical traits of a Frenchie and retain only the small size of the other breed. Breeders usually achieve this around the third generation. Crossbreeding is not a new practice although it is quite a controversial one. However, it is still considered to be the safest method to produce a mini French Bulldog, and the simple reason for that is the health of the puppies. A crossbreed mini Frenchie is less likely to suffer from any of the health issues that their parents may be predisposed to. Breeding the runts of the litter Another method that some breeders use to create mini Frenchies is breeding runts. Constantly breeding such puppies with the aim to pass down the small-size trait not only involves possible health risks but it also takes multiple generations to achieve the desired miniature size. Check out our French Bulldog Puppies Breeding Frenchies with dwarfism The last and by far the worst method is purposefully breeding Frenchies with the dwarfism mutation gene to create puppies with shorter bodies and legs. Unfortunately it comes with a number of health issues for Frenchies who already have a delicate bone structure: it may not only cause a lot of pain for them in the legs, back, and hips but also significantly reduce their lifespan. Pros Mini Frenchies are a great choice for city dwellers who live in small apartments with little space. Due to their small size mini Frenchies require less food and exercise. They of course still need a high quality dog food as well as daily playtime and walks. Mini Frenchies have all the best personality traits that we adore in French Bulldogs: they are funny, affectionate and extremely friendly. Their adorable look is hard to resist! Ultimate Guide. Simply put, these dogs are a smaller version of the regular French Bulldog , which is already quite small. Breed Overview Small to medium 11 — 12 inches Weight: 20 — 28 pounds for males, pounds for females Lifespan: 10 — 12 years Colors: Fawn, fawn and white, fawn brindle, brindle, brindle and white, cream, white and brindle, white and fawn Suitable for: Families looking for a playful, easy-to-groom lapdogs that does not require a lot of space. Temperament: Easygoing, sociable, gentle, friendly, playful, affectionate There is no singular authority that determines where the line is drawn. Dogs that are harder to train will require a bit more patience and practice. Proper exercise, nutrition, and hygiene also play an important role in the lifespan of your pet. More social dogs have a tendency to run up to strangers for pets and scratches, while less social dogs shy away and are more cautious, even potentially aggressive. However, the French Bulldog has been around for a lot longer. Originally, this breed originated from the bull-fighting dogs in England. At the time, these dogs weighed up to 25 pounds, so they were a lot different from the micro French Bulldogs we know today. Around the same time, many lace workers and other traditional workers in England were displaced by the industrial revolution. Many of these workers fled to France, where the revolution had yet to occur. These workers often brought their dogs with them, which included some Bulldogs. At the same time, in England, the larger Bulldogs were favored. Therefore, breeders developed a practice of selling the bigger dogs in England and the smaller dogs in France. As time went on, two different breeds developed because of this practice. The dog was considered stylish and often sought after by creatives and society ladies. In this way, the breed quickly flourished in France before it spread throughout the rest of the world. However, there were no records kept of the breed at this time. Unlike other breeds, it was not a working animal. These traits may have been recessive genes that began to thrive in this smaller population, or they may have been introduced via another breed. It is expected that at least some terrier stock was introduced to give this breed its upright ears. Today, this breed is still popular because of its smaller size. It is a companion animal, through and through. Therefore, it often meets the needs of those looking for a companion animal. The micro—French Bulldog has become popular for similar reasons. However, this time, the dog is even smaller. With more and more people living in apartments and smaller spaces, this is to be expected. Therefore, Americans have been importing these dogs for quite a while. At the time, many French Bulldogs were still bred by society ladies. Therefore, they were quite expensive, which they continue to be today. It took a while for the breed standard to be written. Before then, there was a lot of debate on the specific characteristics of a French Bulldog , such as their ear shape. However, by , the French Bulldog became the 10th most popular dog breed in the United States. In , they were the 4th most popular. The micro French Bulldog is a development of this popularity. In this way, the teacup French Bulldog was developed. Most clubs are not very fond of breeders making dogs smaller, as it often leads to health problems. Therefore, what counts as a mini French Bulldog varies widely. They have a lot of health problems These dogs are prone to many health problems. Frenchies are already unhealthy. When you shove them into a smaller body, the odds of having a problem are even higher. Therefore, it is vital that you consider your living situation before adopting one. Grooming is essential While grooming these dogs is easy, it is vital for their health. Otherwise, they may develop skin infections and similar issues. Therefore, you should do your best to keep them inside in air conditioning. They may not be suited for warmer climates at all. These dogs can make wonderful pets for the right person. They were bred to be companion animals. Therefore, they are typically very companionable and friendly. However, they are also prone to many health issues and their smaller size can cause countless problems. Therefore, they are best suited for adults with no large pets. Cats are fine, but larger dogs would not be. Furthermore, they tend to have more health issues. When planning vet expenses, keep this in mind. Pet insurance tends to be more expensive for this reason, as well. However, the equipment and food for these dogs are relatively cheap. However, several breeders have started to breed French Bulldogs smaller to fulfill popular demand. As people live in smaller and smaller spaces, smaller dogs are becoming more popular. While these dogs are adorable, they are relatively new. Plus, they are prone to many health problems. Frenchies tend to have more health problems, to begin with. However, when you make these dogs even smaller, they become prone to several more. Therefore, their vet bills can be pricy. Therefore, be sure you can afford these dogs before you adopt one. Crossbreeding French Bulldogs with Chihuahuas Calculated deception — Crossbreed of a French Bulldog with an alternate, more modest canine variety then re-reproducing until the vibes of a full French Bulldog that is more modest is met, generally by second or third era. Promoted and sold as a full variety despite the fact that DNA will show the canine is certainly not a full variety. Raisers crossbreed the French Bulldog with an alternate, more modest canine variety to accomplish the little Frenchie look. Each reproducing of this crossover can result on additional attributes of either parent breed. Some will seem to be French Bulldogs, and a few additional like Chihuahuas. Expected lifespan of the miniature French Bulldog: The American Pet hotel Club proposes the standard French Bulldog holds a life expectancy of 11 to 13 years. It is difficult to foresee the life expectancy of a smaller than usual Frenchie and it will rely upon what medical problems they are having concerning their qualities and rearing history. It is conceivable in uncommon events for a small Frenchie to live as long as the standard French Bulldog be that as it may, it is impossible. How much does a teacup French Bulldog puppy cost? The sticker price. Each time a raiser alludes to a canine in those terms you can expect the sticker price of the canine to twofold or triple than typical inquiring. This means that they are more susceptible to suffering from brachycephalic airway syndrome. This health issue is one that many small dog breeds with short noses and smooshed-in faces suffer from as well, like the pomeranian and shih tzu. Because of their short nose bones, Frenchies may be more prone to respiratory issues that cause changes to the lungs, breathing trouble, and reflux, among other health problems. Royal Frenchels combat many of the health issues that mini Frenchies and other varieties of the breed are known for. In fact, Royal Frenchels percentage of health issues is 10 times lower than that of French Bulldog health statistics. You can learn more about our Royal Frenchel health statistics and our commitment to percent health transparency for the breed on our website. The Royal Frenchel is a unique breed with only one official breeder. Anahata Graceland is the creator of the breed, and she began her breeding career as a boxer and French bulldog breeder. An avid French Bulldog enthusiast, Graceland was inspired to create the Royal Frenchel Bulldog to mirror some of the best Frenchie traits while creating a healthier pet. However, there are other breeds in the mix to boost health, personality, trainability, and the other incredible traits these dogs possess. Royal Frenchels evolved into what they are today through more than 15 years of breeding and dedication to creating a healthy gene pool. Size Expectations The Royal Frenchel breed is available in three size variations. They average about 26 pounds, which is similar to the average size of a standard French bulldog. Regular Royals tend to range between 24 and 28 pounds, while small Royals tend to range between 14 and 22 pounds. The micro mini Royal Frenchel is closer to the size of a mini or teacup French bulldog, ranging between 9 and 14 pounds. Mini Royal Frenchels tend to look somewhat puppyish, even as adults, with their appearance staying the same even as they make the transition from pup to adult dog. Regular Royals, also look very much in appearance from puppyhood to adulthood, similar to standard Frenchies. Age Expectations According to the American Kennel Club, the average life expectancy of a French bulldog is 10 to 12 years. Mini French bulldogs average slightly higher. The same trend holds true with Royal Frenchels, with the micro mini versions usually outlasting regular and small versions of the breed. However, Royals have a longer lifespan , on average, than the French bulldog breed, even in its mini form. Royal Frenchels are known to live between 14 and 20 years, with Micro Mini Royal Frenchels often living closer to the year mark. Still, they enjoy going outside, taking walks, and even running around in the backyard with their family members. Royal Frenchels can vary in energy and exercise needs, depending on their size. Larger Royals tend to be more into hiking and adventures than smaller Royals, but all of them do well with a moderate exercise routine that keeps them moving, agile, and fit. This trait helps their bodies stay agile and strong as they jump around and run off their energy. Personality A large-but-laid-back, lovable personality is one of the best Royal Frenchel traits. Royals are known for their intelligence and people-pleasing attitude. These traits make them exceptionally eager to learn and train. Both breeds are easy-going, fun-loving, and sweet, making them calm and nurturing around kids and other pets. Royals take these beloved traits from the Frenchie and magnify them. These dogs are loving, affectionate pups who love to play and have fun. Cream Frenchies usually have pink inside their ears and have light brown noses. Their eyes are usually dark brown or a greyish-brown color. Many Fawn Teacup French Bulldogs have blue eyes however others have grey or green eyes. The insides of their ears are usually a pale pink and their noses are the small color as the fur on their muzzle. Usually the base of their coat is tan and there are faint black stripes over it. The stripes are quite subtle and blend into each other so they sometimes look like a dark brown dog. They have blue, light grey or amber coloured eyes and a pink tint on their muzzle. The lilac coat color is a result of a mutation in the MLPH gene codes for a protein called melanophilin that results in a dilution of color. You can read our full guide on Lilac Frenchies here. Merle Teacup French Bulldog A Merle Teacup French Bulldog carries the merle gene which dilutes certain sections of their coat resulting in mottled patches of different colours and patterns. It also affects eye colour and skin pigmentation on the nose and paws. The most common merle coat colors are Blue Merle or Red Merle.

The Golden Retriever has been an AKC-recognized breed since and was commonly used as a gun dog and for retrieving small game such as waterfowl, and for companionship. The Golden Retriever originated in the Scottish Highlands. The first Lord Tweedmouth, Dudley Majoribanks, is credited with developing the breed and keeping detailed records to create the ideal gun dog for the terrain. Great discipline and a gentle spirit make the Golden Retriever a perfect retrieval breed since the goal of this task is to bring the trophy back as undamaged as possible. Golden Retrievers first appeared in dog shows in at a British dog show. They also started appearing in the United States around the same time as they were brought across the Canadian border. They gained popularity with sport hunters and in general. Their popularity really took off in the s and they are consistently one of the most popular dog breeds. If you are not the sporting type, bringing a Golden Retriever into your family as a pet is just as rewarding because they are one of the most loyal and jovial breeds out there. One of the facts about Golden Retrievers is that they are the epitome of friendly and make fantastic family dogs. Golden Retrievers are considered one of the friendliest dog breeds. They tend to be good with kids, other dogs, other pets, and even strangers. Goldens love attention and they bond closely with their families. They are affectionate with them, and also just about everyone else. Although they do tend to get along with everyone, they love being around their favorite humans the most. They will bark to alert you and can end up barking a lot if you do not train your dog to stop barking early on. Golden Retrievers are highly adaptable dogs. They thrive in homes with yards where they can run. They can also adapt to apartment living as long as they get enough daily exercise, mental stimulation, and attention. These dogs do well in just about any climate, but are sensitive to heat. As one of the most affectionate dog breeds , they are not at all happy about being left alone for long periods of time. Although super-friendly and attention-loving, Goldens can also be sensitive to their surroundings; make sure they feel included, but have a quiet place to go if things get too noisy or overwhelming. Potential health concerns to be aware of in a Golden Retriever include progressive retinal atrophy, cataracts, elbow dysplasia , and hip dysplasia. Good breeding practices make a big difference in the health of puppies. Reputable breeders screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. So, make sure you ask about the health and genetic history of the parents. You can also ask about any health tests or clearances that have been done. Goldens are considered one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners. They are highly trainable dogs that pick up on things quickly and are eager to please. These traits make them a good fit for owners of all experience levels. It also helps them excel at obedience competitions. As one of the smartest dog breeds , Golden Retrievers can get bored easily. Because they pick up things quickly, they can get bored with too much repetition in training. If your dog has mastered the command, move on to something more advanced or another activity. You can also enroll in puppy training classes for some variety in training and also some socialization. Golden Retrievers have a long double coat that will shed a little year-round and will be heavier twice a year as the seasons change. Brushing a few times a week and daily brushing during seasonal shedding along with a bath as needed is usually enough for at-home care. You will want to go to the dog groomer for a professional trim a few times a year, especially as the seasons change. Nail trims once or twice monthly keep nails from growing too long. Daily tooth brushing, along with cleanings at the vet when needed, is ideal. Golden Retrievers are one of the most active dog breeds. Daily walks plus some playtime, time to run, and other activities are usually enough to keep these dogs happy and healthy. But, they are high-energy dogs that will likely always be up for more activity if you are. Much like the Labrador , they also tend to have an extended puppyhood. They tend to start winding down a little around the age of 3 and settle into your lifestyle, but they will still be high-energy dogs that require a lot of daily activity. Goldens are known for being versatile and athletic dogs. They tend to love swimming. Once they are done growing and the vet clears them for higher-impact activities, you can try other things too. They are one of the dog breeds that make good running partners. You can also teach them how to play frisbee or play fetch. Training for dog sports is another good option. In addition to obedience, Golden Retrievers are well suited for agility, dock diving , rally, flyball, tracking, and more. Fully-grown Golden Retrievers usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. Golden Retrievers generally live for years on average. With their intelligence, eagerness to please, and gentle disposition, Golden Retrievers are versatile working dogs. In addition to being one of the dog breeds that make the best service dogs , Goldens can be found working as emotional support dogs, certified therapy dogs, search and rescue dogs, military dogs, police dogs, animal actors, and more. The XXL is another of these sub-types that have emerged where Bullies are bred for more extreme proportions and unnatural conformation, including extreme size and weight. However, they can also be purebred XL bullies bred to greater and greater extremes by pairing the biggest individuals. Since the XXL is not recognized, it can be a marketing gimmick for some disreputable breeders. So be careful to research before your purchase. Breeding for extreme size can create more health issues in the breed, typically placing more strain on their hearts, bones, and joints and typically shortening their lifespans. The difference between XXL and Xl Bully is often confusing, and sometimes both terms are used to describe the same dog. In essence, they are very similar: American XXL Bully is bred to be as large as possible, with a weight range of pounds 54 to 91 kg. However their height range is usually quite short for the amount of weight they carry, typically between 18 and 24 inches 45 to 60 cm. However, some dogs can stand up to 28 inches 71 cm at the wither in extreme cases. Typically, the XXL Bully is a large, muscular dog with a broad head, wide chest, and thick, powerful legs. They have a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors, including black, blue, fawn, and brindle. Usually, American Bullies are not allowed to be albino or merle, but since the XXL is not really recognized, you may find them in any color. You can see this in the Merle American Pitbull , Aftermath: Another famous example of an XXL Bully is the beautiful black Pitbull, Prague: And the most famous giant red nose Bully that popularized the breed, Hulk: These dogs are bred to exude power and strength, with bone-crushing jaws and characteristic huge blocky heads. Their ears are often cropped to make them look even more intimidating. Help Dogs In Need Our blog posts aim to provide comprehensive, accurate, and objective information on all types of dogs, helping our readers make informed choices that fit their lifestyle. Countless wonderful dogs, from all breeds, await their forever homes in shelters. Remember, with AdoptDontShop, you can give a deserving rescue a second chance at happiness. They are known for their ability to excel in various dog sports, such as weight pulling, obedience, and agility. They are also highly trainable and respond well to positive reinforcement training methods. They respond well to positive reinforcement training methods and thrive on praise and rewards. However, they do need boundaries and good leadership. This video shows how well these dogs do with positive training methods as puppies and trainable they usually are: Some XXL Bullies are working bullies. Because of their size, they do not have the stamina that a Belgian Malinois does, but with good trainers, they make good protection dogs as in this video: Keep in mind; these dogs should never be trained to be aggressive. Protection training is not meant to create an aggressive dog. So it is only something to do with a professional. Any bite work or guard training with a powerful dog needs to be undertaken with extreme care to avoid accidents. XXL Bullies usually have a loving and loyal temperament. But temperaments can vary depending on the bloodline. Those bred more like a Pitbull can be more intense, while others have a more laid-back attitude, similar to a mastiff or Bulldog. Bullies closer to the athletic Pitbull-type need at least minutes of high-intensity daily exercise, including walks, runs, or plenty of playtime in a fenced-in yard. However, the giant XXL Bullies with heavy builds need low-impact activity to preserve their joints and may also be prone to heatstroke. So a walks and short bouts of playtime are better as their size will not allow for much intense exercise. Providing the breed with enough exercise is crucial to prevent them from becoming bored or destructive. However, be careful with heavy exercise that could damage their joints. Warning: these dogs can be highly destructive if they become bored! They are completely capable of destroying your furniture. They do best in a house with a securely fenced-in yard where they can run and play. If they live in an apartment or other small living space, they will require more frequent exercise and playtime. They should be brushed weekly to remove loose hair and keep their coat shiny and healthy, and you can use a gentle oatmeal and aloe dog shampoo about every six weeks to wash them. They should also have their nails trimmed regularly and their ears cleaned with canine-friendly ear wipes to prevent infections. Too much extra weight on this dog will put undue stress on their joints and can exacerbate issues like early arthritis. They need a heart-friendly diet, as they may have congenital heart problems, so speak to your vet about adding extra omega-3 fatty acids, taurine, L-carnitine, and MCT oil to their diet. They may also be prone to urate and cystine stones, so they may need a special diet for kidney stones. Typical hereditary issues to look out for in the XXL Bully include:. Please do not mix the American Staffie with the much smaller and far less aggressive English Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Despite there notoriety they are still only a small amount of these dogs in the UK In the UK they have become the most sought-after breed of dog and are one of the most recent and most talked about of all the latest crossbreeds. These dogs are incredibly reactive and aggressive to both humans and dogs and almost any other animals. Aggression: Are XLs aggressive? This Bully dog is not afraid to socialise and meet new people. They are highly tolerant of children and strangers. I would imagine the gene pool in the UK is far smaller than in America. It could be that the writers of these glowing testaments are talking about the behaviour of their dogs and not the breed as a whole. Or they are looking through rose-tinted glasses, or they are lying. May I suggest all of those reasons are probably true? One of my specialities was in all types of aggression. I believe these dogs are over-reactive, stimulated by movement, distrustful of strangers and incredibly strong. I have assessed and been involved in numerous cases that have gone to court many I have assessed or defended in court showed the dog as not inherently aggressive. Unfortunately a number did. I have worked with every breed and crossbreed. I have never refused to assess or work with any type of dog breed over a period of 40 years, owning, handling, assessing and working with tens of thousands of them. Though I have retired now, this breed of dog is one I would totally refuse to work with, simply because of the danger to both humans and other dogs. I believe they are probably the most dangerous breed ever created and the following figures and statistics bear that statement out. Remember these are a new American breed and are particularly new to the UK. I would like to point out that these bully breeds were also bred for dog fighting and two of the main crosses in XL Bullys are the American Bulldog and the American Pitbull Terrier both commonly used. The tracking and protection part is to track and bring a man down. Dog Attacks and Deaths in the UK: Typically, there are less than 3 fatalities a year f In there were four deaths one was a young year-old boy called Jack Lis. However, in there was a massive leap in fatalities 10 people were killed, 6 of them killed by American XL Bullies and the 7th victim was by an American Bulldog. There have been six deaths already this year. One you may have read or heard about was a professional dog walker called Natasha Johnston. .As I was writing this article the Police issued an update saying she was killed by her own dog. Why did the police put the Cane Corso in as a cross when they are often used to create the XL Bully in the first place? The dog was described as a large bulldog-type breed and was believed to be a banned breed. The sixth death was two Rottweillers once again Mastiff Breeds. Conclusion: Think for just a minute about those facts and statistics, The majority of the fatalities including children as young as 17 months were caused by one breed of dog that is new and fairly rare in this country. People are buying them as family pets on the glowing approbation of the breeders in America. The majority were psychologically and temperamentally sound. I actually felt that the Dangerous Dogs Act was flawed from the outset and despite tinkering it is still unfit for purpose. .Genetics is just one part of the equation. Having said that, I believe what they have done with the American XL Bully is to create a dog that is so dangerous that the general public should never be allowed to breed or own one. For once in my life I believe that something drastic must be done to curb this ultra-aggressive and hyper-reactive breed. Put a ban on the breeding and selling of these dogs in all parts of the UK and start educating the general public on how to raise a well-rounded and safe dog when they first get a puppy. Most people especially during lockdown on a whim without any research or knowledge on how dogs think or learn. Most dogs are not socialised or trained enough during that first week period. I watched a Netflix series called Unnatural Selection In the series, a dog breeder, a totally untrained layman working as an oil field technician was experimenting with genetics and altering the DNA of dogs. His own dogs were mainly American XL Bully-type dogs and he had a lot of them. He was buying DNA manipulation kits so as to speed up the dramatic changes that people wanted in this breed of dog. He artificially inseminated and extracted semen from his dogs he was experimenting to make rapid genetic changes in his animals. The man in question lives in Mississippi USA. Perhaps he or someone else succeeded? If so that could explain the sudden dramatic climb in fatal attacks from these XL Bully Breeds. It has now been reported that the XL American Bully dogs in the UK are times more likely to kill than any other dog breed, according to a new analysis of public data. What I am concerned about is whatever happened created a Frankenstein monster of a dog. Legislation is urgently required before many more children, adults, and dogs are killed. The problem with the XL Bullies their aggression is not related to socialisation, though that can exacerbate the problem. The real concern is their powerful genetic disposition for predatory and reactive aggression. These dogs were bred to fight and attack. They are the type of dogs that were used in Bull and Bear Baiting, and dog fighting, They also hark back to the famous dogs of war used by the Romans to create their empire and of course to invade Britain. Has anyone heard anything from the Government about this problem? I have been saying this on TV and Radio for the last 6 months. Neither DEFRA nor the Government has uttered a word about the fact that In the last 3 years, the vast majority of deaths have been caused by one specific breed. I also have a petition regarding Dog Theft it has , signatures The Government promised to change the law nearly two years ago. Has it been done has the severity of the sentencing changed and have they changed the charge from stolen property like a laptop or mobile to abducting a family pet and sentient animal with all that entails? You can guess the answer. See below for a link to the petition. I think this article is important enough to share on all media platforms. Some of the media platforms are shown below. I can recommend Swag Kennels to my friends and other people who would want to get healthy puppy pitbulls. Anastasia A By the far the best kennel out there. Fady Elaiwat Purchased my beautiful Xl bullie from Swag kennels and I absolutely have to say that Yulia and her husband are the most loving, nicest people I have ever met, they know exactly what they are doing in this business they love and care for thier pets as if they are family! Always willing to answer questions Very informative And go above and beyond! They are very gentle and loving toward other animals and especially people. Good tempered, well mannered, extremely loyal and an affectionate family member. Mostly obedient, this dog wants nothing more than to please its human. The XL American Bully is well known for having a high tolerance for kids and an overwhelming eagerness to please its love ones. Confident, yet not aggressive, XL Bully possesses a great temperament. Physically, they have an impressive strapping build, which is both muscular and defined. They display great strength, durability, and agility. Bully Temperament It is safe to say that although this breed possesses an impressive stature, with defined muscles and a strong build, they are very, very sweet hearted and have a soft temperament. Many people believe the American Bully is simply a type of pit-bull this is false and is a common misconception towards this breed. Overall, the XL American Bully is a well-rounded, reliable, trustworthy and ideal family member mans best-friend. The XL American Bully needs an owner who is firm with a lot of patience, that's very confident, and very consistent. Always let them know whats expected of them; give rules and guidelines to follow to what they are and are not allowed to do. Establish yourself as the pack leader as dogs are naturally instinctively inclined to follow in that order. A Pit bull and American Bully are two distinct dog breeds. They also love attention, and are definitely massive affection givers, so you can expect tons and tons of licks, kisses and head tilts. They are known for being an extremely adaptable breed who are both playful and caring, this makes them an exceptional addition to families with children. The American Bully is known to be the loyalist of the many dog breeds, adding to the many reasons for why they make the perfect family pet. They range from 24 to 27 inches in height and weigh anywhere from pounds to pounds, both male and female. They can pack on size and weight very fast, so I recommend to not overfeed them and to let them grow gradually so that their bones fuse together properly. This dog was first bred in the s. The American Kennel Club does not recognize this dog breed. Their temperament has been selectively bred to produce a dog with a soft and mellow personality. They are kind, loving and gentle towards family members and do well in homes with or without kids. The appearance of this pooch closely resembles a Pitbull dog. The Bully requires 30 to 60 minutes of exercise each day. Your puppy comes with all the paperwork, health records, and a small bag of food. Merle is a genetic pattern that can be in a dog's coat. In addition to altering base coat color, merle also modifies eye color and coloring on the nose and paw pads. The merle gene occasionally changes dark eyes to blue, or part of the eye to be colored blue. Responsible breeders who want to produce merle puppies mate a merle with a non-merle dog; and none will have the vision or hearing defects associated with double merle dogs. Some of our dogs are available world-wide, and some are only available within the USA or only available outside of the USA. This can change at any time, so please check back at any time to see the current status. A tri carrier dog is a dog that doesn't show tan points, but can produce dogs that do. A great example of a tri-carrier dog is Triple Champion King Louii. King Louii is a lilac colored dog, and does not show any tri colors at all. But if King Louii is bred to a female that is tri, they can produce full tri-colored puppies. Tri Carrier means a dog has a single copy of the Tan Point trait heterozygous. We are looking for genetic defects within our dogs that could be passed down to their puppies. Within our program, you will see 2 different results. CRD4 is an eye condition that originated with long-haired Dachshunds, and is very common within our breed. It is estimated that over half of our breed has at least 1 trait. We wrote up an article on it, so please click below to learn more! COIs also track how related dogs are further back in the pedigree. Look back 10 generations in our own family trees and you are very unlikely to see the same name twice. This is not true for dogs, though. The same names can appear many, many times.

Like all things in life, breeding for health is simply a matter of priority. We are blind to many of the breed priorities that distract other breeders from improving the health of the English Bulldog. We focus on health and personality and very little else. We are not interested in winning a blue ribbon in the show ring. Rather, we test for things like elongated soft palates, narrow tracheas, stenotic nares, luxation in the patellar tendons, heart defects, cherry eye, optic cilia, entropion, ect. We focus and prioritize creating healthy bloodlines, therefore our bulldogs are typically much healthier than the breed as a whole. After breeding for health, what other priorities are you focused on? Our true desire is to create the perfect family bulldog. We also believe a bulldog bred for the correct personality is essential to the family unit as well. A Bruiser Bulldog is bred for intelligence and playfulness. We want our bulldogs to be full of personality and some quirk. We believe a full personality along with a little stubbornness is the true North star of the bulldog breed and is what makes the unique among other breeds. We look for these personality traits in our adult bulldogs and continue to create bloodlines that reflect these qualities. What are the steps of your adoption process if I am located in Kentucky? I am familiar with common and uncommon health problems they may face so when my boyfriend and I decided we were ready to adopt our own english puppy finding a reputable breeder that prioritizes health was most important to us. Erica and Mitch of Bruiser Bulldogs are just that. They are experienced, ethical and quality breeders. I was referred to them by my friend that I trust after I saw their gorgeous healthy puppy. Our Puppy Primrose is the light of our lives! Bruisers was there to assist us every step of the way. We would highly recommend Bruisers Bulldogs to anyone looking for their own happy, healthy pup! Leah H. We were lucky to have come across Bruiser Bulldogs and even more so the fact that they were near our family and hometown made it even better. We have had Clementine Callie for four months now, and she is a wonderful dog. Her personality is amazing, and I think part of it is breeding and the other part is Erika and her family lovingly raising the puppies in their home with plenty of attention and snuggles. I also was impressed that, rather than send the puppies out right at 8 weeks, Erika kept ours for a few extra weeks because she was tiny and not read to leave her mom yet. It's that care that differentiates Bruisers from other breeders. Emily R. Erica was easy to work with thru the entire process from application to adopting and now beyond as we host our new family member, Chief. Her on-call support and willingness to provide open, honest advice to all of our questions and concerns continues to be appreciated. We would highly recommend Bruiser Bulldogs to anyone looking for an English Bulldog to join their family. Elizabeth W. Lady L. They are experienced, responsive and knowledgeable about all things bulldog related. They went above and beyond for us and are truly dedicated to all of their pups! We love our little girl so much and would recommend Bruiser to anyone looking for a healthy beautiful bully. Jonathan E. Erica and Mitch are trustworthy, excellent communicators, fair, passionate, and produce the best bulldogs. We were at the top of the waiting list for months and Erica reached out every litter to see if we were finally ready for a bulldog. When we were, she was very easy to work with. Her knowledge on bulldogs is outstanding. We had many questions on the process and she always knew what was best for the puppy. We've had Penny formerly Blair for two months and she is very healthy, energetic, playful, and sweet. She is great with other people and dogs. We are so happy with our pup. When we are ready for bulldog 2, we will only consider Bruiser Bulldogs. Mitch C. Bowser was born April and is an integral part of our family. When we were first exploring English Bulldog breeders our biggest concern was the overall health of the dogs. We decided to work with Erica at Bruiser Bulldogs because we liked their focus on improving the breeds breathing abilities and the fact that the puppies are raised within her family environment before coming home with their new owners. Bowser also breaths clearly and our vet was impressed with his overall health from the moment we brought him home. All that said we know English Bulldogs have a predisposition to many health issues and that his current health can not predict the future. With that In mind its important to start with a breeder that open to answer any of your questions as Erica has ours, and that strongly believes in improving the breeds overall health profile. Adam B. My sister ended up finding Bruiser Bulldogs and we knew right away that they were the breeder for us. In September we ended up driving 9 hours to pick up two Bruiser bulldog puppies- one for my husband and I and one for my mom. Jackson and Penelope have been nothing but a joy. They are both very athletic and healthy. They are also HUGE snugglers and always want to be with you. It is an absolute pleasure having these two bullies in our lives! Erica is very knowledgeable about the breed. She is very hands on throughout the process and is just overall a kind and honest person to work with. With all that being said I cannot recommend Bruiser Bulldogs enough! Collyn C. One of the reasons we chose Bruiser Bulldogs was due to the claims about breeding for health. During our first visit at our vet's office, he told us that our pup was one of the healthiest English bulldogs he had ever seen. He is healthy, happy and social. Would recommend to anyone. Christina S. We seen our dog on their website and sent them an Email. Mitch called us and personally walked us through the process and made sure we had the right dog for our family. We couldn't be happier when we picked up our dog Ramsey, Erica made sure we had everything we needed and then some. They are truly amazing people who breed truly amazing dogs! Jim T. With their signature bat ears and expressive eyes, French Bulldogs, or "Frenchies" as they are lovingly known, have captured the hearts of many dog lovers around the globe, consistently ranking among the most popular breeds. Renowned for their easy maintenance and the ability to thrive in apartment living, French Bulldogs are a city dweller's delight. Their small size, typically weighing under 28 pounds, makes them perfectly suited to compact urban spaces. However, their charming personalities and heartwarming companionship are universally loved, irrespective of city or countryside living. This breed's laid-back nature does not mean they're devoid of fun and play. On the contrary, French Bulldogs can be quite playful and are known for their often comical and entertaining antics, which only further endears them to their owners. Their affectionate demeanor, combined with a remarkably low barking tendency, makes them a joy to have around the house. French Bulldogs are sturdy, compact, and stocky, with a powerful muscular build that contradicts their small size. They have a smooth coat that comes in a variety of colors, from fawn and brindle to white and grey. Their facial expressions are human-like, and they're known to "talk" using a complex system of yawns, yips, and gargles. However, owning a French Bulldog does come with responsibilities. Their brachycephalic short-nosed nature makes them prone to certain health issues and less tolerant of extreme temperatures. Despite their muscular appearance, they are not the best swimmers, and care should be taken around bodies of water.
