After four weeks at Song Dog we had a new pup: No more pulling on leash and we get many compliments in public about how well behaved she is! We sent our rambunctious, 6 month old puppy, who had very few manners, off and he returned a well behaved still rambunctious puppy who is a joy to have in our lives. Vet Tech recommended Jason and we sent her to the ultimate companion training. Now she will respond to recall immediately even when a deer or other prey is involved. She went from a good dog to a great dog. She wanted to be alpha. But we have the best relationship now. She is my best girl! Petey responded well to home training, but because of the isolation from other people and winter weather, he was lacking in social skills. Our walks with Willis are well contained and like night and day compared to his pre-training walks. I was blown away by the variety of locations the trainers explored during the 2wks, including malls, coffee shops, restaurants, parks, markets and more! Mochi was introduced to cows, skateboards, a wheelchair, statues, babies, kids, an aquarium and even a Ferris Wheel! The variety of exposure was such a bonus! And of course I must shout out the incredible team at DGA! The staff work as a team, but Mikaela was our primary trainer. From day one, she clearly demonstrated her depth of knowledge, range of tools, commitment to healthy long-lasting behavior change, and a loving obsession of her job! We had and unforgettable experience with her as our trainer!! He would pee on everything, pull me in all directions, jump on guests and create leash-burns on my hands from lunging at squirrels and rabbits. I had hired a private dog trainer before, but due to sudden medical issues, I was unable to keep up with the trainings. Fast forward to today, Mochi and I went for our first walk since his graduation. I felt the emotions of gratitude bubble up bc for the first time in 1. My neighbors recommended DGA and "Sally"; after 4 weeks of in home training, Maggie knows the E collar and I don't even have to turn it on for her to react and.I am able to control her "door behavior"Sally is wonderful!! She knows dogs and how to get results especially with anxiety and barking. I am now more confident knowing what is needed when Maggie barks. Malaika and Mikaela worked very closely with Toby and they gave us frequent updates, sending photos from their walks and trainings.We even got an awesome pic of Toby in front of the Reno Arch. A special thank you to Mikaela who stopped by for a follow up at our house for pointers. Not just good at training Toby, but excellent at teaching us for all of the at-home training to follow. Mikaela is patient and kind and you could tell she's doing what she was meant to do. She clearly loves dogs and they love her back. Toby was so excited to see her and when she left, he lay next to the front door like he does when he's waiting for someone to come home.
