Provided the breeder has a reason to produce this cross, and a genetic, health, temperament, or function goal driving the mating. Provided the breeder has done all the health checks relevant to a labrador, and all the health checks relevant to a poodle. Provided the breeder understands the science of genetics and the varying possibilities of how labrador genes interplay with poodle genes, especially recessive gene combinations. Provided the breeder understands assessment for temperament, in both the labrador and poodle, and whether the individual temperaments of the two parents make each a fit candidate for breeding. Provided the breeder has a well thought out and early development program for the puppies. Provided the breeder has sought potential buyers prior to the sale and vetted those buyers carefully, so that there is no chance any of the pups end up homeless.
