Our Golden Irish puppies tend to be darker in color. How'd we start? Growing up my wife's family raised Pekingese. She loved their dogs and the litters of puppies that came and went. We wanted our children to have a family dog and to share the puppy experience with them and so we chose to raise Golden Retrievers. My family had a Golden Retriever growing up. My wife always dreamed of having a Golden Retriever or Irish Setter. We got our first Golden in and named her Mandy. We had 4 wonderful children ages 7 to 17 and our lovely dog Mandy. Our 2 boys were passionate about the outdoors and loved to hunt and wanted a specific dog to train. It wasnt hard to convince their mom, but took a little longer to convince me. But convince me they did. They chose a male and of course named him 'Big Red'. The boys did an amazing job training the 3 dogs. We had the 4 dogs and plenty time and attention to offer them with the energy and passion from the 4 children. The experience was just as my wife remebered as a child and she was happy that our children were able to enjoy the same experience. It was rewarding to place the puppies in wonderful homes. We were planning to breed Ginger with Cody. In the summer of Ginger came into heat so we would put Ginger and Cody in seperate kennels, on a cement slab, when we went to town. We were waiting for her to be in midcycle to breed her. I came home at dusk, one night, and let her out and she immediatly disappeard. We ran for a flashlight and found her in Big Red's Kennel. Big Red was our Irish Setter. We were devastated and felt like we had failed as breeders. However, we found that the puppies were extremely smart and farther advanced as they aged compared to our Pure Goldens as puppies. They were much calmer than most Irish Setters, and were more athletic than most Golden Retrievers. We knew these dogs would be a hit, and they have been. The first families to contact us were families specifically looking for the mix. They shared their stories of growing up with Golden Irish Mixes. Over and Over we heard how they were the best family dog they ever had. Why we Continue The Golden Irish was not merely something stumbled on by accident. The original accident was precipitated by a years long love of both the Golden Retriever and the Irish Setter. I was fascinated with the grace and freedom that contrasted the Irish Setter from more conventional setters in the story. He, rather, romanticized the hunt as a thing natural to the dog and foreign to the dogs human companion. Big Red knew what he was doing when he hunted. Big Red was the master hunter and Danny was his mere apprentice. Irish Setters can be strong willed. They are intensely loving and loyal but they do not have the level of automatic obedience seen in some breeds. They are majestic animals who do require some work during training to reach their potential. Unfortunately, because as the world has urbanized, the required space for an Irish Setter to shine has become rare, and this magnificent breed has seen declining popularity. Irish Setters are creatures of the open fields and the ubiquity of automobiles has ensured open fields are rare. We are fortunate to live in an area of the country still rural enough to allow the Irish Setter to run. But even we have to find time and space to give our dogs this opportunity. After almost 20 years experience with both Goldens and Irishes I have concluded that the main character trait differentiating the Golden Retriever and Irish Setter is patience. The Golden Retriever was bred to patiently wait for the hunt. The Irish Setter was bred to go out and make the hunt happen. Both love to chase things. Both can have seemingly boundless energy. Both are loyal companions. The Golden Retriever will wait for the ball to be thrown and the Irish Setter will grab the ball and expect to be chased. The Irish Setter is proactively invoking the hunt, whereas the Golden Retriever is awaiting its arrival. We were no experts at first and have learned a lot in 20 years. It turns out the patience of the Golden Retriever tends to be inherited by the Hybrid making them more suitable for Urban environments. It also turns out that the grown dogs can be stunningly beautiful. We have improved our breeding over the years and no longer hesitantly advertise. If the Poodle was left ungroomed, while hunting in the water, the dog would be painstakingly hindered by the weight of its heavy, wet coat. The ribbons in their ears were simply to identify who owned them when they all came running over the hill to their masters. So you see, their hairstyle, which you probably thought was gratuitous and decadent, did in fact have a great purpose in history. The Poodle truly has one of the most fascinating histories in all of the K9 world. There are even drawings found in caves by explorers , with images that resemble the Standard Poodle. These are some of the earliest findings of what appeared to be pure bred dogs, used for a purpose. It was also during this period that Standard Poodles were the most used K9 to perform in shows and circuses. Circus trainers found the dogs to almost train themselves for the routine of the show. The popularity of the breed peaked in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is for this reason that potential Standard Poodle puppy buyers must be very wary of breeders, and ask plenty of questions. What more can we say--they are for all people, for all things. Poodles do not molt! If you are one of the people who wants your Poodle to be traditionally groomed for shows, then yes, there is much more to it. A dog should never be constantly licking his feet, and if this is the case, you should visit a veterinary clinic. We feel as though the healthiest grooming choice is short and trim. During regular examinations by yourself, you will find it much easier to discover scratches or irregularities on their skin, and can take preventative measures to avoid such unpleasantries. If the Poodle is left for too long with a full coat, these things can go unnoticed very easily. The Standard is a very clean specimen, but still requires on average about two baths a month. Daily brushing is recommended, again, depending on how you groom your Poodle. The hair must be plucked from the ears to ensure proper airflow, and to decrease the chances of bacterial growth. This practice should be started from day one, and after the first few times your Poodle will adjust to the procedure for his lifetime. Happy in either the country or in the city, the Poodle adjusts well in almost any setting--provided he has plenty of love and attention. He hates being left alone for long periods of time, as any dog should! We brush our dogs teeth much more frequently, but as a minimum, we always say once a month. American shepherds still have the desire of protectiveness but without the clear head that keeps them from being fear-biters , nervous, or aggressive. Most of them do not have the courage to do true protection work or police work and are easily defensive and almost always skiddish. The differences among the American bloodline is considered by many around the world to be a separate, inferior breed. As a general rule, American Shepherds are a far cry from the real deal. Unfortunately, many people in the USA only know of this kind of dumbed-down version of the true Shepherd dog and consider it as normal. We assure you, it is not. They are usually darker in color than American dogs and their back is roached i. Their temperament is not as strong as von Stephanitz the father of the breed originally idealized. They are easier to control than true working line dogs. The SV German registry requires breeding dogs to have clearances for hips and elbows and a working title along with their show title. As a result, this line is generally healthier than American lines, but usually not as solid as the bloodlines we have yet to talk about. West German lines have little-to-no real emphasis on working. To allow a true shepherd to compete in these trials would reveal the deficiencies within this line. Some within this line do make good workers but it is much harder to find true, consistent working dogs in this line. They have the brains and nerves to do a real job. This line, as a general rule, has less health issues than the others. Breeders within this line aim for working ability, not show-ring quality. They have nice body structure suitable to perform a working function. Generally, they possess balanced drives and good nerve. They also make awesome family pets, without aggression, shyness, or fear. They tend to be energetic and therefore do best in an active home. Their colors are usually bi-color or sable. They tend to mature faster which gives them a longer working life. They usually have a high pain tolerance. These dogs have a love for work, have high energy, are loyal and confident. They are more environmentally sound, i. However, it is also true that this line produces dogs that are smarter than many dog owners and therefore can be, at times, harder to control. When people envision a loyal, confident, awesome GSD, this is the bloodline they dream of, whether they know it or not — color probably being the only exception. DDR dogs were strictly regulated by the government of East Germany. This kind of stringent control of breeding specimen produced a very unique look in the breed. DDR dogs typically have larger heads, large bones, and dark pigment, and many are bi-color. DDR dogs were bred for border patrol work. These dogs have filled capacities in police, military, and security work around the world. They are usually stable dogs with low to medium prey drive. However, their defense drive is typically higher and they are generally wary of strangers. Some can be harder for most people to control. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in , breeding standards in this area of the world were softened and breeders were given more freedom. Many breeders within this line tend be to moving away from working ability with a greater emphasis on beauty. Poor breeding within this line has caused low drive and poor nerves, although many still make good family dogs. Some of the dogs within these bloodlines have solid working drives that are intense and agile. They are usually more slender and more streamlined than DDR dogs. They range in color from bi-color to sable. Czech dogs became more common in America in the late s. At that time, many of these dogs had bad hips and poor temperaments. They were definitely harder to control. However, within the last 20 years their drives have improved, they are more social, and have a greater trainability than previous years. Their hips have improved as well. A good, contemporary Czech shepherd possesses a nice balance in prey and defense. Be informed about what line of German Shepherd will best meet your needs. If you want a laid-back dog, do not get a working-line Shepherd. Probably an American line or West German line would be best for you. They pay lip service to the temperament of the breed and the majority have no concern about the working ability in their breeding program. They should rename their breed and call it the American Shepherd. That is a very sad statement, but it is true. You can occasionally find an American bloodline breeder who will brag about having some of his dogs in a police department someplace, but the sad truth is that if the dog is working as a patrol dog, it does not belong there. Most police departments don't have a clue about how to selection test a patrol dog. So when a local breeder offers to donate a dog or sell a dog cheap , they jump on the opportunity. These dogs are taken through some form of training and then labeled a "police dog". The fact is that these dogs will not protect their handler if their lives depended on it. What's really bad is that many times, these uneducated officers don't even know that if the going gets tough, their dog is not going to be there when they really need him. Unfortunately, the Germans seem to be moving in the same direction. The Germans have two separate sets of bloodlines in their country. They have their show lines and working lines. The two hardly ever cross. These people are excellent trainers. They work their conformation dogs in prey drive from the time they are small puppies. This results in the show dog being titled in Schutzhund, but the titles are all done in prey drive. These dogs lack "fight drive. The German show dogs lack "fight drive. They do not look at the helper as a fighting partner; they look at him as a buddy. Read my article on drives. A Police Service Dog or a personal protection dog needs to have " fight drive " in his temperament. Fight drive is inherited; it is a genetic factor that cannot be trained into a dog. An animal either has it or it doesn't. Our dogs here at Leerburg Kennels are bred with fight drive in mind. It is important that a newcomer to the breed does not confuse "fight drive" with "bad temperament" or "handler aggression. A dog can have excellent fight drive and still be very safe around children and in many cases, even around strangers. A dog does not have to exhibit its fight drive until it is attacked or its owners are attacked. When that happens, these dogs show the self-confidence to enter a fight with the knowledge that they can beat their attacker. Dogs can have no fight drive and still have bad temperament. You only have to look at the American Shepherd to see this. Dogs can also be handler aggressive and have no fight drive. Many handler aggressive dogs show aggression through fear. This means that they have learned to show aggression when they are placed in a position where they are a stressed. They don't understand what they are expected to do. They react to stress by biting the handler. This is not fight drive. Our kennel is not the only good breeding kennel for working bloodline dogs. If you cannot afford one of our dogs, at least make sure you are buying German working bloodlines and not German show lines, and for sure, not American lines. Even a spooked dog can be conditioned to pass this test with enough work believe me, I know of many such cases. Drives are a dog's inherent desire to do or perform something. A working dog must have these in abundance or he cannot ever be a reliable dog. A show dog has no need for any drive. All he has to do is be "baited" by liver while he is in the show ring. Health is a major concern of any good working breeder. This is self-explanatory, if a dog is in poor health he cannot be used to perform the task at hand for any length of time. Why would departments who are all on a limited budget invest money into an animal that cannot provide them with years of work? Believe me, these dogs cost a couple of bucks, so they need to last. A show line German Shepherd Dog is so angulated that his chances for having hip dysplasia are much greater. Just imagine the stress put on the dog's rear with that amount of angulation. A dog's nerves are important regardless of what function he will fill pet, working dog, etc. If his nerves are shaky, he is, at the very least, a difficult animal to live with, and at worst, a potential danger. A show dog's nerves are never truly tested so how can someone truly claim that their dogs have good nerves? By contrast, a working dog's nerves are tested on a daily basis in training, competing, working, and changing environments. Trainability for a working dog is essential. Why would a trainer spend hundreds of hours on a dog when the training time can be cut in half with a dog who isn't a knucklehead? Ask yourself what a show breeder ever had to train a dog to do other than be baited by food. Now to the average dog owner, if your dog lacks true trainability, this isn't the end of the world. But why do it the hard way? A pet dog owner does not need a dog with all the drive of a working dog, but a good working breeder can help you choose a pup in the litter that is a little more "toned down" and would make an easier house dog for your family. At least you can be assured of getting all the other positive traits. Consider all this when looking for a dog and understand that once you've found the "perfect pup" it's easy to ruin him if you are careless in how you raise the dog. Get professional training and make a real commitment to your animal. Predicted to be a top 10 must have toy for Christmas which lets face it, needed SOMETHING fun to happen , we were lucky enough to be able to complete a Present Pets Review with Spin Master prior to their 1st October release date and the girls were quite literally bouncing off the walls! I have to admit I was too. Hopefully the pics and our full unboxing video below will give you a good idea of Present Pets and what to expect! Here we showcase not only the live unboxing process but also visual demonstrations of each of the different interactive modes. How does the Present Pets Unboxing work? The girls were so excited when they learned we were doing a Present Pets review. Step 2 — Pull on the gift tag on the box. Once the outer layer is lifted away a small Instructions pack drops out and it is recommended that you read these first to know what to do next. The second step is to pull on the gift tag. This is impossible to miss as it is clearly marked with the word PULL! As the tag is pulled away from the Present Pets box, it triggers the automatic unboxing process. You can then sit back and watch in awe as your Present Pet unboxes from the packaging to reveal which puppy is hidden inside! Step 3 — Watch as your Present Pet Unboxing Begins As soon as the tag is removed your Present Pets toy puppy springs to life and you can hear the audible barks and yelps from inside the box as well as movements that physically move the box from side to side. .The Present Pet puppy then starts to poke and prod at the cardboard packaging, poking away 3 perforated paw prints to create holes in the box and reveal a little glimpse of what your puppy looks like! The most impressive part of the Present Pets unboxing is when not only do the paw prints get poked away by the Present Pet but the sides of the box start to be ripped away too, before the two sides split apart completely and drop open on their own to reveal the interactive Present Pet puppy sitting happily inside. The Present Pet puppy plays a happy little song as the final unboxing moments take place. First Impressions of our Present Pet Once the Present Pets box had burst open, the girls first set their sights on Cocoa, our adorable pup sitting inside. She has a large fabric shimmery ombre bow attached to her right ear, sparkly blue expressive eyes with a heart shaped patch of fur over her right eye and a cheeky sticking out tongue. She is wearing a removable collar with her name on and has super soft plush fur. After her unboxing, the Present Pet puppy is barking and already making lots of fun interactive sounds, but before play, she needs to be removed from her fixed point on the base of the box. The Present Pets pup is held in place on the base of the box by two small bone fastenings at her feet, which need to be twisted to move them into the unlock position, after which your Pup can be pulled away. What do the Present Pets do once open? The Present Pets instructions are pretty overwhelming, and I have to be honest, I really wish that toy manufacturers would use nice bright colour leaflets with good pictures or photos to make life a little bit easier for us parents! Instead, the instructions for Present Pets are quite a daunting black and white photocopy which obviously comes in lots of different languages. Despite there being a quick start guide with illustrations, it still felt a bit tricky to understand some of the elements of the interactive play. After lots of trial and error however, we have now successfully got to grips with all the play modes — there are a number of interactive options for playing with your present pet which create different modes of play. Cuddle Mode The first mode is Cuddle Mode. Erin loved pulling Cocoa in for a cuddle and tapping the back of her head. After some extended play, we found the Cocoa responds best when her head is patted firmly in a stroke like action rather than a pat or tap. To trigger excited mode you simply tickle, touch or tap the Present Pets pup on her tummy. Here she lets out of happy little yelps, licks, laughter and excited barks as her legs flick rapidly backwards and forwards, just like a child does when they are tickled! To trigger the trick mode, you need to press on the back button and tap the head. When you bark or speak to the puppy, it will respond to you and imitate you in barks. After 3 exchanges of listening and responding, the puppy will return back to standard play autonomous mode. She made some lovely little sounds when Erin spoke to her, and you can see examples on our video above. The important thing to note here is that some of the sounds are confirming whether you got it right, and are NOT part of the sound for you to copy — this caused a bit of confusion with us at first. There are two rounds in game mode and if you want to skip to Round 2 you can quickly press the back button again. Otherwise just wait and listen out for the first barks to begin. If you get it wrong bark too little or too many times, he will make a frustrated grrrr noise. There are 3 stages to round 1 and each time your child has to copy back a particular number of barks. My video footage shows this a bit clearer, so please do check this out if you want to see it in action. The puppy will start by barking a short rhythm and waiting for you to copy it by barking back the same rhythm. Again, there are 3 stages and they progress in difficulty. After a short initial rhythm the puppy then barks a medium length rhythm and waits for you to copy again. Finally the puppy barks a long rhythm and if you are able to copy it correctly the game is won! As with Round one, he makes a happy sound if you get it right, a growl if you get it wrong, and a happy dance when you complete the round. You can quit the Game mode by pressing the back button again. I will be honest, at times it did feel like they were both girls and our Present Pet were just making lots of noise and I am not sure how quickly the novelty of game mode would wear off, but both my girls were happy regardless! Present Pets toys can make over sounds and actions — we have had ours almost a week now and are still discovering new reactions. Present Pets Volume Control — Parents will be pleased to know that Present Pets do come with an off button thank you toy gods! There is however only one volume setting and no present pets volume control as such. In my opinion it is a touch on the loud side, particularly if your children are early risers! Present Pets toys require 6 AAA batteries batteries are included and these can be changed by unscrewing the paw prints on her feet 3 batteries in each paw. Our Overall Present Pets Review What we loved about the Present Pets toys: Present Pets toys have a really fun unboxing process — the Present Pet Pups really DO unbox themselves by poking and prodding their way out of the cardboard, and need absolutely NO assistance from children other than pulling the tag to trigger and start off the process. The rest is cardboard. This is a real positive, as the majority of the packaging can easily be recycled. The girls Neve in particular have played with her lots since. For parents who may need to keep things quiet when working from home or may get bored of the barking — there is the welcome addition of an off button!! How could Present Pets toys be improved? As is often the case, some of the instructions for Present Pets are a little overwhelming and I wish there was just a simple colour sheet which outlined each mode and what it did. There is a quick start guide in the instruction leaflet but even the sight of all that text is enough to put any parent off, particularly when you have an excited child raring to go! I assume more videos including mine will emerge to make it easier for you guys so hopefully that will help! Neve however, who is just under the recommended age at 4, did find this more of a difficult task. A few people have asked me since my review was published whether Present Pets toys only come in the puppy variety. At the moment, yes there are only four different puppies available, but it may be that future waves of Present Pets feature other animals like Cats and Rabbits — that would be pretty cool too!

Thanks to the Poodle side of their DNA, Bernedoodles can come in so many beautiful colors and patterns! We have spent significant time learning the ins and outs of coat and color genetics. Below is a general guide to what different colors look like that we produce. Not every litter we have will have every one of these colors. We always know the color possibilities with each parent pairing based on their genetic panels and list them for the planned litter. Producing merle puppies is something we do very carefully and with a full understanding of coat genetics. Red We love our red Bernedoodles! They can range anywhere from a light strawberry blonde, to a deep red color. Phantom Very similar to tri colored, just less white and more brown! Phantoms can have large abstract white markings on their chest and feet, or no white at all. This change happens because when they are born most of their little hairs have dark tips on them even the hairs that are not truly dark all the way to the base. Then as their coat grows out, and especially after getting their first haircut, all those tips are trimmed off revealing their true color. Chocolates can come in all the same color patterns as their black counterparts listed above. Each pup is uniquely marked! Parti can happen to any of the above colors, and is a coat trait we can test for in the parents. So we always know if there is a chance of parti puppies in a litter. Now that we produce primarily multigens, we do not often have parti puppies. What is a Sable Bernedoodle? So, what is a sable Bernedoodle? A sable Bernedoodie has a coat consisting of black-tipped hairs with roots of any solid color. No particular pattern or location is required for these colors. As a result, it can be difficult to recognize a sable puppy without the help of a breeder. Sable puppies may appear to be solid black or look similar to a phantom Bernedoodle as newborns. If you choose a sable Bernedoodle puppy, remember that their coat will almost certainly lighten and possibly fade to an almost solid color as they become an adult. Sable Bernedoodle Color Options Remember, sable is more of a combination than a color itself. The tips of the hair must be black, but the roots of the hair can be any other color. This allows for many beautiful variations of sable Bernedoodles! The most sought after is the sable tricolor Bernedoodle also referred to as a sable and white Bernedoodle. Finding a Sable Bernedoodle Puppy for Sale One of the main reasons people choose to get a Bernedoodle is because of their beautiful, unique coat colors and patterns. Sable coats are fairly common in Bernedoodles, however, this coloring option is a very popular choice for new puppy owners. By limiting yourself to only sable puppies, you may experience a longer waitlist or pay premium prices. How much a sable Bernedoodle costs often depends on how many colors their coat contains. Sable tricolor Bernedoodles will be more expensive than sable bicolor Bernedoodles. In general, sable dogs tend to cost more than solid color dogs. Instead, whether their coat more closely resembles that of a Bernese Mountain Dog or a Poodle as well as how much your Bernedoodle sheds will be better indicators of what type of grooming regimen you should have. More About Bernedoodles…. While many Bernedoodles display desired traits, their appearance and behavioral characteristics remain unpredictable. Many Bernedoodles do shed, although the coat usually sheds less than that of a Bernese Mountain Dog. Like Poodles, Bernedoodles may be energetic, intelligent and trainable; and like Bernese Mountain Dogs they may be patient, good with children and other pets and fond of cold weather. The advantage of crossing Bernedoodles with other Bernedoodles is that people will know what they are getting as far as personality, color and size. The disadvantage of breeding generation after generation is that you are now doubling up on genetic traits and getting away from the hybrid that makes a crossbreed so special in the first place! This is a mixed breed dog and therefore cannot be registered with the American or Canadian kennel clubs. We are currently looking into Hybrid Registration Clubs. All puppies will be properly vaccinated and on a de-worming schedule. All puppies come with a 72 hour health guarantee to be exercised at the expense of the new owner at the time of purchase. All puppies are micro chipped. Is a sable Bernedoodle right for me? What is a Sable Bernedoodle? The first Doodle mix, the Labradoodle, originated in the s, when a breeder attempted to create a hypoallergenic service dog. Since then, breeders have mixed all sorts of breeds with Poodles. Standard Bernedoodles tend to be large dogs. But, some breeders will work hard to create smaller varieties, using the Miniature Poodle, and breeding smaller dogs over generations. Sable is a coat color that Bernedoodle dogs can have. This coat color is similar to agouti, so you may choose to include this term when searching for puppies. Sable Bernedoodles have distinct bands of pigment on each individual hair. These hairs will always have black at the tip, but a different shade at the root. Sable Bernedoodles vary in appearance depending on the generation you choose and the traits they inherit from each parent. First generation puppies f1 tend to be more varied than later generations, such as f2 and multigen Bernedoodles. On the whole, you can expect a large dog. Standard Bernedoodle height ranges from 15 to 27 inches tall, though will usually be towards the larger end of this range. As adults, Bernedoodles can weigh as little as 40 lbs, but some can weigh well over lbs. Females tend to be smaller than males. Like their other traits, coat type can vary. Some may have thick, double layered fur with only a slight wave. Others may have coarse, curly fur. Sable coloring is interesting up close, as you will be able to see two distinct colors on each hair. So, as they grow, these Bernedoodles may look more solid in color. Are Bernedoodles Hypoallergenic? Bernese Mountain Dogs are very heavy shedders. Poodles are described as no shedding, since their curls catch any loose hairs. Despite popular opinion, studies have shown that there is no such thing as a truly hypoallergenic dog. Even dog breeds described as hypoallergenic can trigger allergies. This is because dog allergens are found in dander, saliva, and sweat, rather than fur. Studies have also found different allergen levels in dogs of the same breed. So, someone with allergies may respond differently to two different Bernedoodles. The tight curls in Poodle coats are great at catching saliva-coated hairs and dander when they shed. But, Bernese Mountain Dogs have straight fur, which lets those hairs and dander drop over your house. So, people with allergies may respond better to curly-haired Bernedoodles. But, this coat type require much more grooming, which involves getting up close to the sources of those allergens. Sable Bernedoodle Grooming and Coat Care Bernedoodle grooming needs will differ depending on the coat type they inherit. Bernese Mountain Dogs have a dense, double layered coat, with straight hair. Poodles have a single layer of tight curls or corded fur. So, Bernedoodles can be anywhere between these two extremes. Curly fur is more likely to tangle and form knots. Going to a groomer once a month, or even once a week, will not be enough. You will need to brush them at home too. If you neglect brushing duties, their coat can become matted. This will be painful for your dog, and can require their entire coat to be shaved off. But, brushing them regularly will help to control sheddings hairs. Bernese Mountain Dogs are heavy shedders. So, f1 Bernedoodles that take after them are likely to be the same. But, it also meant that puppy mills, pet stores, and backyard breeders are all the more likely. But, bear in mind that first generation puppies tend to be more unpredictable than later generation mixes. But, price will vary based on a huge number of factors, including color, coat type, location, demand, and so on. You might need to sign up to a waiting list. How to Recognise a Sable Bernedoodle Puppy Most reputable breeders who are familiar with Bernedoodles and their potential coat colors will be able to recognise a sable Bernedoodle. But, between the first few days of their life and the first few weeks, sable coloring will develop. Is a Sable Bernedoodle Right for Me? Sable Bernedoodles have unique coloring, which makes them popular candidates for family companions. Bernedoodles often grow up to be large dogs. In fact, some will be over lbs as adults. So, they need plenty of space in your home, as well as space outside to play and exercise. A daily walk to the dog park is usually not enough. Larger dogs like this can also cost more each month, since they will eat more food than smaller breeds. They can take up to 2 years to reach their adult size, which will also mean replacing harnesses and bedding more frequently. On top of this, Bernedoodles need lots of mental stimulation, training, and socialization. This breed will take up a lot of your time! And, as a mixed breed, their traits can be unpredictable. Bernedoodles are not necessarily good for owners with allergies. Those with curlier fur might be less likely to trigger allergy symptoms, but they will need a lot of grooming.
