We were able to make trips to visit Boone while he grew, Wendy was always accommodating and super nice. During these visits we also became more acquainted with Boone's mom and grandmom, they are both loving and gentle souls. These are qualities we were looking for in our next dog as we have young grandchildren that will be a big part of Boone's life. We have had Boone for two weeks now. And he surprises us daily with how smart he is. We could not be happier with the start in life he had at Wendy's, his breeding, and HIM!! And I haven't even mentioned how absolutely beautiful Boone is! We collectively decided on getting a dog. We wanted a happy, smart, loyal breed that could fit in and grow with our kids. With those criteria we started looking for a Labrador Retriever. We soon drove to the farm to pick out our puppy. From that moment, until today, we have been so happy with our choice! Our silver lab, Rumble Rainier, has been value added to our home. He is perfect with our sons, he learned our routines quickly, and he keeps us smiling every day. Say Hi to Boomer. They were amazing to work with thru the whole process. We first picked him out in January and we got to visit every other week to watch him grow and get him familiar with us. He was the cutest little brown fur ball and it was fun to see him interact with all his siblings and his mom. He was also very loved and handled by their kids during the times we could not visit. He is a year old now and a very healthy and beautiful lab. He loves being outside, playing fetch, playing with his soccer ball, or being anywhere our 12 year old daughter is. He has been a great addition to our family! They really love their dogs and know how to breed healthy, well-adjusted dogs. Our Boomer loves all dogs, adults and children because of this. We are so thankful to Green Valley Pups and Paws for this whole experience! Amber McKinney.

This hybrid dog breed was originally developed to create smaller potential service dogs that might be a good fit for people with allergies to dog fur. With a mixed breed, you can end up with any combination of traits from the parent breeds. Often, Mini Labradoodles are smart, friendly, and sociable dogs that are highly trainable. They are often found working as service dogs and therapy dogs and living as beloved family companions. Although they are not recognized by the AKC, the Mini Labradoodle is recognized by other canine registries. A Mini Labradoodle is a combination of two friendly dog breeds that crave human affection and are always happy to have company. These dogs also tend to have playful, energetic personalities and low prey drives. Well-socialized Mini Labradoodles tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. Due to their smaller size, these dogs can be injured by accidental rough play or accidental falls, so any interactions between young kids and puppies should be closely supervised. Miniature Labradoodles will usually bark to alert you when someone is at the door, but generally are not prone to nuisance barking unless they have been trained into it. It may not be a bad idea to train your dog to stop barking early on. Well-socialized Mini Labradoodles may be initially wary of strangers, but tend to warm up quickly and will often be happy to make a new friend. Miniature Labradoodles are highly adaptable. Provided they get enough exercise, attention, and mental stimulation, they can adapt well to apartments as well as larger homes. They tend to do best in moderate climates, but can tolerate warmer or colder climates. As with any dog, they are sensitive to heat. Although they tend to have a fluffier coat, they are also smaller and may need to bundle up in some winter dog products to stay warm while out on walks in the cold. The health of the parents and good breeding practices make a big difference in the health of Mini Labradoodle puppies. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. Make sure you are asking the breeder about the health and genetic history of both parents. You can also ask about any health tests or clearances that have been done to help allay any concerns you may have. Miniature Labradoodles tend to be highly intelligent and eager to please. This generally makes them easy to train and a good fit for owners of all experience levels. In fact, their parent breeds are considered some of the best dog breeds for first-time owners. These dogs respond best to consistent training and positive reinforcement. Puppy training classes can ensure that owners of any experience level learn the latest training techniques and start building a strong bond with their puppy. Grooming requirements with a Mini Labradoodle can vary. On the Poodle side, you have a low-shedding, but high-maintenance, coat that needs daily brushing along with trimming and grooming every weeks. On the Lab side, you have a higher shedding coat that is more low-maintenance, requiring some weekly brushing or brushing a few times a week and intermittent bathing. Overall, Mini Labradoodles range from having a non- to low-shedding coat. They can have one coat type or the other, or a combination of both of them. So, you will want to be prepared for brushing a coat a few times a week and the possibility of more grooming needs. Regardless of coat type, there are some other general grooming tasks you can count on. Regular dental care for your dog will help prevent serious dental issues like gum disease and tooth decay later in life. This is especially important for dog breeds with floppy ears as they are more prone to developing ear infections. Miniature Labradoodles can be high-energy dogs. In general, they require daily walks plus some playtime and extra activity to be happy and healthy. Since they love to be around their family and can have an exuberant and outgoing personality, they will likely be up for more playtime if you are. This little dog may get tired more easily at times and could push themselves too far in their excitement. On the other hand, they may just keep going and going with no signs of slowing down. What is most important is making sure your Miniature Labradoodle gets enough exercise and mental stimulation. Fully-grown Mini Labradoodles usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. Providing families with their new best friend. We are a hobby breeder located in west central Ohio about 45 minutes west of Columbus. Here at Henry AKC Goldens we pride ourselves in providing families with high quality puppies that are given the love and attention every puppy deserves. Our puppies range in color from creams to dark reds. We look forward to meeting new families and sharing our love for the golden retriever breed. About Us! My name is Emily Henry and my husband, Jerrod and myself started our family 17 years ago. We are raising our family on our dairy farm where we milk a little over cows, three times a day as well as crop farm 3, acres near Honda Marysville plant. While the dairy and hay making keeps my husband busy, the kids and I love spending time with our dogs and the puppies. They are all treated like family around here. If the kids are playing outside, you are bound to find our pups playing in the yard. If we are busy feeding calves, you are sure to find the dogs patiently waiting to lick up any extra calf milk that is not needed. If I go for a run, you will likely find one of them at the end of the leash. They have even been our "guard dogs" on 2 different instances of individuals coming to our door. They are known for their calm and gentle demeanor but they will alert and protect you when called to duty. After losing our beloved "farm dog" golden back in , we decided it was time to get a new dog in .At this time, we searched high and low, from 5 local humane societies to golden retriever rescues. To no avail, we were either not "qualified" to have a golden that was not fenced in nor were there any goldens at the local shelters. That is when my children decided to purchase Bella from a breeder. After much time, patience and research, we decided to take on breeding. This opportunity turned into something greater than we could have imagined. These girls have brought so much joy to our home. Although it is a lot of hard work, we cherish every moment and are blessed with the opportunity to provide families with their new best friend s. We look forward to meeting your family!! She is going to be so well loved". Welcome to Glory Dawn Goldens! Hello, we are Steven and Kaitlyn Miller. We also have a one year old daughter Nevaeh Sue. We are located near Orrville Ohio. We are however excited to be switching gears and partnering with Jeremy and Glory Dawn Goldens to promote this amazing breed further than we ever could on our own. Purebred Golden Retriever Puppies Buying a puppy is a big decision. We made that decision easy. Unlike other puppy adoption agencies in Ohio, we allow and actually encourage you to meet our Golden Retriever puppies for sale before you agree to take one home. Remember, too, that when it comes to getting a puppy, ultimately, you get what you pay for. You get a Golden Retriever you love, vetted for good health, from a breeder you trust. She is also a great mother to her puppies! Roxie is AKC certified and she has been Genetic tested and is clear in everything, but has one copy of ichthyosis mutation. As soon as she hears Benson start the 4wheeler she is right there to see if she can keep up with him! Bretta is AKC certified and she has been genetic tested and is clear of genetic disorders. Maci This is Maci! She is the darkest of our red dogs and is an excellent mother when she has puppies! We also have partnered up with several other high quality breeders that raise mini goldendoodle pups that meet our strict genetic criteria and testing. So we usually have a good selection of very high quality puppies. View Our Available Puppies! Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. So if you live near Omaha Nebraska and are looking for a healthy and beautiful Mini Goldendoodle puppy then checkout our available pups now by Clicking Here. I want to subscribe to your mailing list. Submit Thanks for submitting! Doodle What? Hi everyone, thanks so much for coming to check out our website. There really aren't enough lovely things I can say about these amazing dogs. The perfect family companion for young and old and everyone in between. They are loving and funny, loyal and energetic. Most people are aware of the origins of Labradoodles, they were created with a purpose, and that purpose was to develop a breed that had the service dog capabilities of the Labrador combined with the hypoallergenic qualities of the Poodle. And so the Labradoodle was born. They are continuing to prove themselves as amazing assistance, therapy and service dogs but have also become a beloved companion animal for many different types of owners. Growing up on a dairy farm I have always had a passion for animals big and small. Now as an adult with a family I love to share that passion with my two boys and husband. With my breeding program I aim to produce amazing, quality puppies with good health and wonderful temperaments. Please contact me for any questions you might have. Voice does not work very well in our area. Plus the love and care at the home-away-from-home we provide our breeding girls when they come and have their pups with us. As we do not believe that our labraddodles should be kept in kennels, we are commited to remain an intimate family Labradoodle breeder. Our focus as a Labradoodle breeder in Western Australia will be to offer quality, sound, healthy dogs as genuine family companions and never compromise the wonderful qualities of the Labradoodle breed. We believe that the Australian Labradoodle will continue to develop as a very sound and genetic disease free breed. Unlike many of the breeds developed long ago that are riddled with serious genetic health issues because there was no health testing available, or the technology was not there to do the required health testing. And of course they would have to be people dogs who enjoy human interaction above all else. If you are interested in a particular combination of parent labradoodles, get in touch with us and we can discuss if your wishes are possible. Our dogs are a very big part of our life and we have great joy and pleasure from spending time with them at home and taking them on walks. We love to teach them new things and marvel at how eager they are to learn. They come to us happily and enjoy being at their home away from home place and also glad to be back with their own family once the novelty of looking after puppies has worn off! It is always such a pleasure to share the love of the girls when they come to the farm, it really enhances our lives. Check our Puppy pages to see what is in the pipeline.
My husband and I live and work in Voorheesville near Albany. We have 4 wonderful adult human children, our pack of 3 perfect little rescues as well as many rescued fur grandbabies. In my professional career, I deal with critical path planning, risk management, financial reporting, and resource management among many other tasks. All require an attention to detail, ability to prioritize and a great deal of patience and diplomacy. As an uneducated consumer, I purchased them from a pet store. I quickly fell in love with the breed, did my research and discovered all the horrors of commercial and irresponsible breeding. I decided I had to give these poor souls a voice and be their advocate. The fine folks at GMPR allowed me to join them in their mission, as a result I became a volunteer in .My first foster was a beautiful, broken little lady from an Ohio puppy mill transport, Pug who would come to be known as Hannabelle. It was love at first sight, she was my first rescue and from that point on I was hooked. We also have a Miniature Poodle, Lady Josephine, puppy mill survivor that we adopted in .I continue to volunteer in whatever capacity required of me including fostering, transports, fundraising, expanding our volunteer base, etc. My first pug was our family dog named Winston and he was the reason why my family fell in love with the pug breed. When I was in college, I adopted my first pug of my own from a fellow student who was moving back to Taiwan after graduation and couldn't take him with her. His name was Sky and even though he had some handicaps due to a car accident when he was a puppy, he was a happy pug. I redesigned the GMPR website to its current design and continue to maintain the website. I became Vice President of the Board of Directors in and I look forward to applying my skills in this position. They met and married in Los Angeles, CA and lived in Rancho Cucamonga for 25 years until they retired from their respective jobs to move to Vermont where Phil grew up. Judy attended college in California. Judy now works part-time to support her Pug habit and Phil has retired again. Phil is the Treasurer for the rescue. They spend non-rescue time riding their Harleys around New England and puttering around their Mendon, VT home when time and weather allows. Growing up my family shared out home with dogs, cats, a sweet rabbit and adorable guinea pig. I spent many years of my childhood riding horses. Throughout high school I worked for a veterinarian and loved working in the veterinary setting. It was challenging, rewarding and I was helping care for a wide range of animals which was exactly what I wanted to be doing. In Saratoga we raised our two sons and shared our home with a variety of dogs and cats. I have worked in healthcare services and insurance for over 30 years. In , after the loss of our Shepard mix Maggie, our family was looking for a dog to join our family. We were a very active and busy family and thought that we might want to adopt a smaller breed with all the personality of the larger breeds that we had lived with. That is when Ellie came into our lives. It was love at first site and we were fortunate enough to be approved and to adopt her. We love the pug personality, sprit and attitude. They live up to their reputation, a lot of dog in a little space. Helen Bryan, Secretary As a youngster growing up in rural Vermont, I lived with all of the common farm animals and an untold number of cats and dogs. My favorites have always been dogs and horses, I retired from horses several years ago. I filled that empty space with several pugs of my own before volunteering with GMPR as a foster mom. We lost our beloved Jleigh Howard within a few months and I was asked to take over the role of President beginning January .I fulfilled those duties for 4 years, plus many additional duties before deciding it was time to take a step back and let someone younger take the lead. I remain on the Board and continue my work with adoptions and fostering. They are wonderful foster siblings to the lost souls who arrive with their own special needs. We have lived in our year old farmhouse in Berlin, VT which we bought in , early in our marriage. Our 3 girls are all long grown but tell us we need to keep the house to create memories for our many grandchildren. It certainly makes a wonderful temporary home for the endless stream of fosters that come through our door. I have lost track of how many Pugs that have called our house a temporary home. We have loved them all like our own. I have been an animal lover since I was a child. Any animal! Shortly afterwards, I was asked to foster a 10 yr old deaf, blind, very bossy black Pug named Lucy. She was my first foster fail and she thinks my husband and I are her personal servants. We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to help these sweet pups and be a part of such a great organization. Heather Smith Hi! I have been completely and utterly in love with dogs my entire life I feel like I must have been too young to remember where or when this passion began for me, so I like to think that I was born with it. I have always believed that these special little or big! My professional experience working with dogs spans well over 20 years. Toward the end of high school, I was hired for my first job at my local animal shelter.Shortly after that, I worked as a veterinary technician at a local animal hospital. I spent nearly a decade of my life employed with a local Greyhound Rescue, working as a professional dog trainer and behavior specialist and managing their non-profit doggy-daycare. I taught classes, educating children about safe and respectful behavior with dogs, along with educating them about humane treatment toward animals. I now operate a small business photographing client's dogs and attempting to create memorable artwork for them. I also enjoy taking professional portraits of the dogs residing at my local Humane Society, with the hope that a professional portrait might help a dog find a forever family. I live in Richmond NH with my husband and two human children. We have three "resident" dogs and always room for a foster. Maybee yes that's her name.Maybee is my 12 year old pug. She is a puppy mill survivor.Hemingway is our big, silly, 3 year old pitbull! Hemingway was rescued from the streets of Tennessee, along with the rest of her siblings.Last but not least, we have Pearl! Pearl is our little blind pug we estimate she is around 2 years old.GMPR rescued Pearl, along with a large number of other pugs in need this group now infamously knows as "The Manchester 16". She is a ball of FIRE, and you would never know that she is blind as a bat. I have been involved with Green Mountain Pug Rescue since .I sat on the board of directors from - and worked briefly as the volunteer coordinator, while offering my services and advice for pugs struggling with behavior or training issues. I decided to jump back in with both feet and return to the board of directors, because I want to help and involve myself in a direct and profound way. Working with such an amazing community of volunteers who mutually share this passion for dog rescue is the most fulfilling experience one crazy pug lady could ask for! Kristen Griswold I've lived in the greater capital district of New York state the majority of my life. My husband and I live in Rexford, NY with my pugs and his cats; it is a mixed marriage but we make it work. One of my first goals as an adult was to get a dog, so six months after getting a full time job, and after a lot of research about different dog breeds, I settled on the pug. I fell in love with their big personalities and their lazy dispositions. My first pug, Basia, led me to seek out other pug people. After a few years I began fostering pugs and eventually I took over as organizer of the Meetup group. I've fostered many dogs, mostly pugs and pug mixes, much to the consternation of my current pugs, Maximus and Luciana. When I'm not trying to wrap a belly band around a squirming pug, I'm probably doing something related to teaching or Latin. I'm the webmaster for the Classical Association for the Empire State and also on their board. I've taught mostly middle school students for 20 years. Pugs and middle schoolers listen about the same amount, but I do clean up much less poop at work. After many years of fostering, I'm happy to help GMPR serve pugs in need in new ways as a board member. Tony Sardella I was born, raised and continue to enjoy living in the capital district area of upstate New York. I live with my wife Jessica and our four adopted pugs. Our human children are older and on their own; therefore, we spend a lot of time with our furry children. My wife is a longtime volunteer and board member with GMPR. I have gained considerable business experience during my year long career with a multinational industrial company, also serving on non-profit boards in the past. Emotional Sensitivity Several elements influence the price of a toy poodle. It is necessary to determine if you want to adopt a rehomed toy poodle or acquire a puppy. The cost of rehoming a toy poodle puppy is significantly less than the initial purchase price. The following are some factors that have an impact on the cost of toy poodles. Lineage The lineage of the toy poodle puppy is another aspect that influences the price of a toy poodle puppy. Puppies whose parents, grandparents, or any other parent in his lineage has won a dog show award are more valuable. Health Examinations Health and genetic testing will be performed on the puppies and their parents by ethical, respected breeders. That is expensive and necessitates considerable risk on the part of the breeder. That is a reflection of the price of their puppies. The breeder will conduct genetic testing on the parent dogs to offer you a companion that is the least prone to acquire problems. Location The cost of a toy poodle puppy is also affected by your location. A greater cost of living indicates that raising litter will be more expensive. Toy poodles, on the other hand, are significantly less expensive in the Midwest, where the cost of living is much lower. You must, however, consider the expense of getting the toy poodle puppy from that location to your home. Some hues are more scarce than others. Some owners are looking for a one-of-a-kind hue in a toy poodle. Because there are so few special toy poodles, breeders typically demand a premium for them. Phantom black with brown paws and eyebrows , Sable a reddish-brown , red and white party white with red patches , and tri-colored are some of the most unusual and costly hues black and white party with brown eyebrows and paws. These hues are likely to be more expensive than more popular colors like black, brown, cream, white, grey, and silver. Important Characteristics of a Toy Poodle Toy poodles are charming household dogs who like being in the spotlight. They are bright and respond well to obedience training, although their companionable temperament might cause separation anxiety. They get along well with youngsters and other pets, and their diminutive stature makes them ideal for living in small settings. Some of the basic features of a toy poodle are discussed below. Appearance The height and weight of a toy Poodle and a standard Poodle are the only major differences. They have the same coat colors, markings, and characteristics as a standard-sized Poodle. They were made for friendship and called toys since they are less than 10 inches. This dog looks to be well-built and proportioned. Their nostrils will be black, and their eyes will be incredibly dark and sparkling. Males should stand between 7 and 10 inches tall and weigh pounds. Females should be inches tall with a weight of pounds. Colors and Coat They come in a range of hues, making it difficult to pick just one. Blues, greys, browns, creams, and more tones in between make up this palette. The red toy Poodle and the black toy Poodle are the most popular. There is almost no shedding in their coat, which is fantastic for allergy sufferers. It will, however, take longer and demand more work than other dog breeds. Their coat is prone to matting. That leads to unpleasant illnesses if not properly cared for them. Every four to six weeks, the coat should be groomed. Temperament Poodles are extremely intelligent dogs. They have strong personalities and learn things quickly and believe themselves to be an important member of the family. They believe that they are being left out of family events, they will become irritated. This temperament is, of course, a double-edged sword. Toy poodles are loyal family dogs who like being the center of attention, learning new skills, and going on walks. Emotional Sensitivity When it comes to stress, Toy Poodles are particularly sensitive. If the folks in their house are experiencing family troubles, they may become sick to their stomachs, with digestive disturbances and worry. Toy Poodles are calm and sensitive canines that love to live in a serene and happy environment. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Although she stands no more than 10 inches tall and weighs between 4—6 pounds, the Toy Poodle has a big, playful personality that can fill up a room. While frequently associated with France, Standard Poodles were first developed in Germany, where they were used in duck hunting. They have lower exercise needs than many other dog breeds, but still benefit from a daily walk and play session. Poodles of all sizes have curly coats with extensive grooming needs. Their coat grows continuously, calling for a trim every four to six weeks. However, there is no such thing as a completely "hypoallergenic" dog. People with allergies should spend time with the breed before officially bringing home a Toy Poodle puppy. But during this long life , they are predisposed to a few health issues that may require care. Pet parents may benefit from investing in pet insurance early in life. Progressive Retinal Atrophy Progressive retinal atrophy PRA is a group of diseases that cause a breakdown of the photoreceptor cells rods and cones on the retina. Initially, the dog may have difficulty seeing in the dark, but the condition can cause blindness over time. PRA is an inherited disease and there are currently no effective treatments available. Patellar Luxation The patella kneecap is a small bone that normally sits in a groove within the femur at the knee. In dogs with patellar luxation, the patella moves luxates outside of its assigned groove when the knee is flexed. This movement can cause discomfort and may eventually lead to arthritis. Many pets will skip or run on three legs when the patella is out of place. While some cases will correct themselves, in more severe cases the patella remains out of place. In mild cases, joint supplements such as fish oils and glucosamine or anti-inflammatory medications are used to control pain and prevent arthritis. In more severely affected dogs, surgery may be recommended. This causes pain and limping occur as the bone breaks down. In some cases, pain can be controlled with medications. In severe cases, surgery to remove the head of the femur may be recommended. Symptoms include visible debris, redness, odor, head shaking, and scratching. If any of these signs are noted, take your dog to the veterinarian for an exam. In most cases, ear infections can be resolved by cleaning the ear and with topical medications. Toy Poodles develop ear infections more often than most other breeds. This may be partly due to Poodles having long ear canals with excess curly hair to trap in moisture and debris. Trimming not plucking the hair from the ear may help reduce the incidence of ear infections. Dogs with chronic or recurring ear infections frequently have allergies that should be addressed. Dental Disease Dental disease is one of the most common conditions seen in dogs as they age, especially in small breeds like the Toy Poodle. Dental disease occurs when bacterial tartar and plaque build up, leading to inflammation of the tissues around the teeth—and eventually to tooth and bone decay. Daily tooth brushing with a dog-specific toothpaste is the best way to prevent dental disease, though some diets, treats, and chew toys also help prevent plaque and tartar. Tracheal Collapse Tracheal collapse occurs when the trachea commonly called the windpipe flattens. This happens due to weak cartilage rings or the sagging of a membrane along the trachea. Most cases are treated using medications, but in severe cases where breathing is impeded, surgery may be necessary. Toy poodles are likely genetically predisposed to tracheal collapse. When on walks, use a harness instead of a collar, as pressure on the trachea can cause further damage. The condition causes a deficiency in a protein called the von Willebrand factor, which is necessary for platelets to stick together and form a clot. In dogs that are deficient in this protein, the blood may have difficulty clotting, which can lead to bleeding from the nose, vulva, bladder, or gums. Additionally, dogs with this condition may bleed for a long time after trauma or surgery. If there is concern about VWD, a screening test may be performed. This test measures how long it takes for a small cut in the mouth to stop bleeding. If the time is longer than usual, additional testing is needed to confirm VWD. Because some dogs with VWD do not have notably prolonged bleeding until later in adulthood, blood levels of von Willebrand factor can be measured to help with diagnosis. Most veterinarians recommend testing for VWD prior to any planned surgery, including spays, neuters, and dewclaw removals. Puppies should be fed a diet formulated specifically for puppies or designated for all life stages. For Toy Poodle adults, dental-focused diets may be recommended by your veterinarian to help prevent dental disease. Toy poodle puppies, however, should eat three to four small meals per day on a consistent schedule to help maintain their blood sugar. Additionally, the feeding guide labels on the dog food provides valuable information for pet parents. Just remember: In small breeds like the Toy Poodle, calories in treats add up quickly. Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in skin and joint supplements , fish oil, and even in some specially formulated dog foods. These fatty acids act as natural anti-inflammatories that help support the skin, coat, kidneys, joints, and heart. They are playful and self-confident when socialized at a young age. While relatively calm, Toy Poodles enjoy playtime and exercise with the family. The breed is gentle with children and other pets, though all interactions between dogs and kids should be supervised. Because these pups are so tiny, they can accidentally be hurt during playtime. Toy Poodles have lower exercise needs than many other dog breeds, but still benefit from a daily walk and play session. Toy Poodle Behavior Toy Poodles bond closely to their families and may develop separation anxiety if left alone for extended periods. They can also be sensitive to stress, and sudden changes in the home environment may lead to gastrointestinal upset. Additionally, because Poodles are so smart, they need mental stimulation to keep themselves entertained—and out of trouble. Bored dogs are more likely to bark, jump, be destructive, or misbehave. Toy Poodle Training Toy poodles want to please their owners. Paired with their smarts, this makes them an easy breed to train. As always, training is most successful when based on positive reinforcement with praise and tasty treats. Fun Activities for Toy Poodle Obedience training. Pedigree and Bloodlines Toy poodles from champion bloodlines or with strong pedigrees will typically cost more than those without. This is because a high-quality pedigree is an indicator of potential show or breeding success, and these dogs often have a higher demand. Price Ranges for Toy Poodles When looking to purchase a toy poodle, there are different price ranges depending on factors, such as quality, breeder reputation, and location. This section will discuss two specific categories of toy poodles: pet quality and show quality. Pet Quality Pet quality toy poodles are those which may not meet the breed standards or possess minor faults. However, they make lovely pets and companions. Show Quality Show quality toy poodles adhere to strict breed standards and are often bred for dog shows and competitions. However, this level of quality ensures a well-bred puppy with good lineage. Tips for Purchasing a Toy Poodle When considering the purchase of a toy poodle, there are several key factors you should take into account prior to making your decision. This section will discuss four essential considerations to guide you in your search for a healthy and happy pup. Research Reputable Breeders First and foremost, always select a reputable breeder for your toy poodle. Conduct thorough research by checking online reviews, asking for recommendations, and verifying awards and recognitions if applicable. Be cautious of red flags like: Irregularities in communication. If you want to get a show dog from champion bloodlines, expect to spend more. Purchasing the purebred Miniature or Toy type of Poodle is pricier than buying other dog breeds from a backyard dog breeder. The Standard Poodles are typically less expensive than Toy Poodles since they deliver more purebred puppies per litter. The price of a Standard Poodle, as well as Miniature and Toy Poodles, does not often change between male and female dogs, but larger dogs are associated with a higher maintenance cost compared to smaller Poodles. A premium price tag also usually means you have a high-quality Poodle puppy from purebred breeders which could save you a lot of money in the long run. Female Poodle: Which Is Better? Factors Affecting the Cost of a Poodle Puppy Many people find Poodles expensive, but what is it about Poodles that makes them so costly? Well, there are many reasons why these fluffy dogs cost thousands of dollars. The size, age, health, lineage, and AKC registration of a Poodle puppy are essential considerations when determining puppy prices. Here are other factors affecting the price of a purebred Poodle: Age: Younger purebred Poodle puppies are far more costly than older puppies on average. This is due to the high demand for young pups. Meanwhile, purchasing an adult Poodle could save you at the very least a few hundred dollars. Appearance: Purebred Poodles that sport rare Poodles coats color are priced higher than others. Purebred Poodle breeders dedicate years to learning how to breed high-quality puppies. Those that gained recognition for their hard work often put higher price tags on their Poodles than others. Bloodline: Since they are bred for exhibition, champion Poodles will be the priciest. These are the canines that compete in athletics and breed representation. Health Screenings: Purebred Poodles are at risk of health issues, such as seizures. This means Poodle breeders must take measures to ensure the health of their pups. As a result, they will have to invest additional money to nurture proper Poodle health. Registration Papers: Your Poodle must have the required registration papers to be registered with a kennel club. This list contains the significant factors that influence the price of a Poodle. When purchasing a Standard Poodle puppy, keep them in mind and any additional fees that may be associated with it. A purebred backyard breeder might ask you for things like reservation charges, pet delivery, vaccines, and pup accessories that are not included in the Standard Poodle price range. Poodle costs of adoption will vary depending on where you get your dog. If you choose a senior or special needs adult Standard Poodle, the fee is significantly reduced or even free entirely in these cases. Poodle puppies can be found in abundance in local shelters. If you decide to adopt a Poodle, you can be assured that you will get a dog that has been well-cared for, unlike the ones found in a puppy mill. Here is the list of the essential things that people who love Poodles must prepare for: Food and Treats: Poodles can be picky eaters. Hence, it is important to invest in the right kind of high-quality food upfront. Poodles will need a diet high in fats and proteins. Bed: Because the Poodles are active dogs, it will require a nice bed. The size of your Poodle will determine which mattress is appropriate. Crate: A crate is a must-have for required vet visits or crate-training your Poodle properly. This is a must-have item for Poodles that enjoy running and playing. Toys: Teething is unavoidable for young pups, and restlessness can lead to destructive behavior. These toys are a great approach to alleviating these concerns while keeping your dog happy. A slick brush to clear unkempt hair and knots, a metallic greyhound comb to remove tangles and separate hair strands, a blow dryer, grooming clippers, nail clippers, and a toothbrush to maintain proper oral hygiene are all you need. Furthermore, deworming is a crucial step in keeping healthy pups. Initial Vaccine Shots: If you opt to purchase an unvaccinated Poodle puppy, you will be responsible for the expense of their first round of vaccinations. This is also another way of keeping your Poodle healthy. Neutering and Spaying: If you purchase Standard Poodle puppies, most likely, it is still intact. It is suggested that the puppy be spayed or neutered between six and nine months. Microchip: A microchip, about the size of a rice grain, should be implanted on your Poodle. This can be scanned by vets or other canine specialists for your contact info, health records, and health problems. Miscellaneous Supplies: Useful goods such as poop scoopers, cleaning materials, and urine pads could make Poodle care much more manageable. Agility classes are another fantastic entertainment opportunity for your toy poodle. This breed is a miniature athlete, excelling in agility courses. However, the costs of caring for your pup may be more or less based on the area you live in and the things your dog needs in any given month. For example, you might not need to buy cleaning supplies or get your dog groomed every month, but the above estimates should give you a good idea of what you could be spending. Costs such as dog walking, obedience classes, pet sitters, and boarding facilities can add up fast. If you choose not to invest in pet insurance, you should create an emergency fund for unforeseeable incidences. You can cut down on some of the high costs by shopping for the best store to buy your food and supplies. You can even take grooming lessons or watch YouTube videos for tips on how to groom your toy poodle yourself to save on high grooming costs. Use couponing apps for your phone or internet browser to find the best deals on pet supplies. Honey is a great Chrome extension that finds all the best coupon codes for nearly any website. Rakuten is another extension you can use to earn cash back on your purchases. We consulted different breeders and pet adoption centers for the most accurate price range. During the interviews, we collected data on what affects the cost of each dog despite them being the same breed and the recurring costs of owning a toy poodle. By the end of the post, you will clearly see how much financial investment a toy poodle is. Like any other pet, the toy poodle requires a considerable financial commitment upfront and throughout their life. Several variables affect how much a toy poodle costs, which explains the huge price variation. A few factors that justify the price variation are: Color Some toy poodle colors are rarer than others. Some people may be looking for a toy poodle in a standout shade that is not easy to find. Since there is a small number of these special colored puppies, their price will increase. For example, Phantom will likely be pricier than others like black, silver, or brown, which are more frequently available. Whether You Are Adopting, Buying, or Rehoming Rehoming a pet is different from adopting one in that you either acquire a puppy that has been abandoned or are given one by someone unable to keep the dog for their reasons. On the other hand, you can receive a pet through adoption by going to a dog adoption facility. Although there may still be a fee to fund their time at the facility, it will usually be considerably cheaper than purchasing one. Additionally, your adoption price will probably include vaccinations, neutering, and microchipping costs, saving you a few more bucks. Buying puppies is usually expensive because the breeder has already incurred the cost of veterinary care and breeding the pups to ensure they come out perfectly. Lineage The bloodline of a toy poodle puppy is another significant factor that affects the pricing. Puppies are more priced if anyone in their line of descent has received any kind of recognition, say a competition. Costs differ between canines with a clean medical record and those with underlying or inherited health issues. Pets with any health issues will be cheaper than those in tip-top condition. Breeder If you buy from a reputable, high-end breeder, prices will generally be higher. This is because the breeder incurs significant costs related to maintaining their business, which is paid for by selling puppies. It is assumed that a high-end breeder will produce pups of a higher caliber than their cheaper counterparts. While this argument may have some truth, it is not always true. You can also get pups that are healthy from a start-up breeder. In addition to having less going on than an established breeder, new breeders must set fair prices to attract more clients. Extra Costs Of Owning A Toy Poodle The decision to get a new puppy is exhilarating, but frequently people fail to consider the financial obligations that come with it adequately. In fact, you may take this as your starting point. You might not realize how expensive it is to raise a puppy. Here are some extra costs to factor in your decision to get a toy poodle: Spaying or neutering Consider having your dog spayed or neutered if you intend to use it for breeding. Spaying a pet is more expensive than neutering it. Toys And Treats The well-being of your dog depends on toys. Negative behaviors can be delayed by using toys. Treats help reinforce good behavior in your furry buddy. Deworming Deworming is another factor that should not be overlooked when considering the additional costs of owning a pet. In fact, puppy age is the age range most susceptible to worm infection. To keep your dog healthy, ensure you deworm your puppy thrice a year. Vaccinations Immunizations are crucial because they will protect your puppy from illnesses and infections. Your veterinarian will determine the cost of the puppy immunizations. The first shot is administered between 6 and 8 weeks, while the second is a week or two later. Suppose you buy your toy poodle from a reputable breeder or rescue organization. In that case, the vaccinations will already be done before you pick up your new pet. Remember, you must give your dog a booster vaccination every year. Training Costs Depending on your demands, puppy training sessions might range in price. If you want an intensive training program that will teach your furry buddy all the essentials in a matter of days, that will be more expensive. Private lessons are also more expensive than group training. Services for dog walking and dog daycare are commonly available. Ensure you know what works for your pet because not every dog should go to doggie daycare, especially if they have trouble mingling with other dogs or lack social skills. However, there are occasions when it is vital to avoid boredom and give dogs that would otherwise spend long days alone the human-canine connection they require. All in all, do not leave your pup alone for long hours. Apart from avoiding a mess in your house, your dog needs to go outside and play. While making your decision, understand that dog walking is cheaper than daycare. Insurance Pet insurance will help you save money on your total veterinary expenses if your dog gets hurt or becomes ill. If you have pet insurance, you may relax knowing that you will be covered financially if your dog or cat is sick or wounded. Without pet insurance, you face the risk of being hit with a hefty bill in the unfortunate event of the worst-case scenario because veterinary visits have unexpected costs. Make sure the service provider you choose caters to the specific breed you have, covers any underlying issues your pet may have, and is within your budget. Where You Live The cost of a puppy also depends on where you reside; in California, for example, since it is among the most expensive states, the price for a toy poodle will be higher than in Massachusetts due to the drastically lower cost of living there. You may opt to get your pup from a cheaper state; however, you also need to account for the price of getting the toy poodle puppy there and back to your residence. In the excitement of getting ready to bring a new puppy into your home, it can be easy to overlook how much of a financial commitment the dog involves. Making a budget for your new animal family member is a great way to prepare yourself for unforeseen costs. Less - The Toy Poodles have a shoulder height of up to 25 cm 10 in and weigh kg lbs. Poodles are very elegant in appearance. They have a long, narrow muzzle, slight stop point at which the forehead meets the muzzle , dark eyes, and wide ears. Toy Poodles have flat backs, straight, docked tails and small, oval feet. Their length is approximately the same as their height. The Toy Poodle is sensitive, intelligent, lively, playful, proud, and elegant. It bonds closely with family and makes a great companion. Toy Poodles are very smart, obedient, and graceful, which makes them one of the most popular pets in the world. The Toy Poodle is bouncy, alert, and usually eager to play. Toy Poodles are more energetic than Standard Poodles, and more likely to bark. In 18th and 19th century Europe, the Poodle served a wide variety of purposes, including duck hunting, guiding, and later circus performing, from whence the modern grooming style likely arose. The Poodle became a popular pet for the French aristocracy, and in time was officially adopted as the national dog. Poodles were imported to America in the 20th century. The origins of the poodles are still discussed with a dispute over whether the poodle descends from the old French Barbet breed or from Germany as a type of water dog. Giving your dog time and attention, making sure they have plenty of toys and opportunities to run around and play outside, and working on training regularly are all things that you can do to keep your dog entertained each day. It is a good idea to plan ahead and consider starting a savings account, where you can put away a portion of your paycheck so you can pay for unexpected vet costs. Your dog might end up damaging something in your household as they learn obedience training, so you may incur extra costs unexpectedly for this reason. These are just more reasons to consider maintaining a savings account for your dog. Owning a Toy Poodle on a Budget If you can find a Toy Poodle for free or at a rescue center, utilize state-funded service programs like those for spaying and neutering , and if you opt for less expensive commercial food, you can take care of a Toy Poodle on a budget. However, costs should never be cut when it comes to checkups, vaccinations, illness treatment, and items for nutrition and comfort. Learn how to potty and obedience train your dog yourself instead of hiring a professional trainer. You can find training books at the library and training videos online for guidance. Instead of utilizing a grooming service, buy clippers and a good brush, and do the grooming yourself. Instead of buying expensive toys, make them out of old clothes and unbreakable objects that you find around the house. Go on long walks rather than gas-guzzling drives. Spend time at the dog park instead of using electricity at home watching television. Make your own doggy treats utilizing food in your kitchen instead of buying commercial ones. Daily exercise, a proper diet, and plenty of attention will go a long way. Regular checkups can help catch problems before they become too expensive to address. Conclusion Toy Poodles are adorable little dogs that deserve plenty of love and attention throughout their lives.
