I've rehomed two bullies, my 1st, an older male who'ed had multiple homes. Brutus never peed the bed but did pee in his crate unless left bare of any pad, blanket or towel, many bullies do this. Now, on my 2nd bully, Cami, also older and will pee on anything left in crate too. She sleeps with me now and started peeing the bed. One of the best ways to wear a puppy out or any busy dog is to engage them in activities that make them work and think. Pugs are and were bred to be companion animals. They need people. And pug puppies will need you to engage with them. They will demand it as will most adults. Just like children, puppy brains need stimulation and activity to develop. A puppy left crated for eight to ten hours will be absolutely manic by the time you get home and will need you to devote the remainder of the evening to them. House Training: Pugs will not be house trained in a month or two months or even six months. You may end up with a pug that asks for food as opposed to letting you know they want to go out. I never trust any pug around any food source, rubbish bin or even cabinets that they can open. If they can get onto your dining room or kitchen table, they will. And they will consume whatever is up there. Pugs are often quite tactile. Many are obsessive lickers — of themselves, you, the other dogs or cats, the kids, the carpet, your pillow. Many use their paws more like hands than paws. Pugs can be quite vocal and can be barkers, howlers, moaners and grumblers. I have known of many that were vocal in the extreme and would carry on protracted conversations with their owners. And some snore very, very loudly. Color never reflects temperament and personality so usually most people don't really care too much what color they are. They are all really beautiful. Although there's variation due to the hybrid vigor present as a result of the recombination of genes in many arrays, there is definitely a bernedoodle appearance that is fairly consistent. If you let the hair grow, they will look like big shaggy dogs that you can't help but to give a big hug to. And they enjoy every minute of it! Our Premier Bernedoodles will tend to have wavy curly coats due to the coat types we require in our bernese mountain dogs which helps to minimize or eliminate shedding.We do make sure that our standard poodles do not carry the genetic marker known as the "Improper Coat" allele or IC for short. Wavy curly coats do require a little more grooming as compared to straight, but many, straight coats shed more.Although they are considered to be large, they don't act like a large dog in the house. They are generally very careful and calm natured as adults however they do have some puppy-fun energy thru the puppyhood stages and thru 3 years of age. They love people and other pets! We do thorough genetic testing of our adults that we use in our breeding program to assure that you are purchasing the healthiest of bernedoodle puppies. What's the Difference? An F1b is an F1 standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle or could be a backcross to a Bernese mountain dog but we generally use the poodle as the backcross. An F1bb is an F1b standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle. Behaviorally they are all very similar with the F1b and F1bb's being slightly smaller than our F1 standards and tend to have slightly curlier coats to a tight wave. When comparing the two coats the curly coat will almost certainly shed less than the wavy coat and may be more suitable for allergy sufferers. Standard Bernedoodle Temperament With the bernedoodle being a combination of two different breeds, it is common to see traits from both sides of the breeds. You will certainly see the intelligence and ease of training from the poodle side and the affectionate, loving Bernese Mountain Dog trait.
