That said, families with small children should be careful, as these dogs can have hair-trigger tempers. The animal needs to be socialized to be around kids, and the kids need to be taught the healthy ways of dealing with dogs. All you need is a little open space, a bit of free time, and a playful spirit. Their Little Dog Syndrome can work for you in certain respects. They may even try to chase them off!
