Eventually, we gently held her paws and lightly touched the nail clippers to her nails so she could get the idea of nail clipping without us actually clipping the nails. Throughout our mock nail trims, she got lots of praise and sweet talk. At first, we hand fed her rather than using a dog food bowl so that we could use mealtime to bond with her.
