We bought our first Golden a number of years ago. January 18 of to be exact. However, having always wanted a Golden Retriever and my birthday quickly approaching, the thought of a Golden puppy quickly altered our thinking well at least my thinking. My birthday gift, Ben, was the most lovable, playful, smart and goofy English Golden Retriever puppy you could ever have laid your eyes on. My husband and I fell totally in love with him, and thought that we had just lucked out on a particularly nice dog of this breed. Age, activity, metabolism and build of a dog are the major factors on which the amount of food which should be given to a dog depends. Also, the type of food you are giving to a dog is another important factor.
