Just like us they have baby teeth, and Pugs really are no different; Pugs will teethe. I have a very clear memory of when we got our first ever dog. During the puppy months we would find tiny teeth on the floor which would come out as he chewed everything in sight to relieve his sore teeth and gums. This chewing is a huge part of the teething process, but is something you can actually help your Pug puppy with. So, today I want to share everything I have learned about why Pugs teethe, at what age they lose their baby or milk teeth, what to expect as an owner, and how to help them plus ways to stop them chewing your furniture! My intention is for this to be the only guide you would ever need to read about the dental development of your Pug. This is completely normal during the teething phases. But when should you expect this to start and then finally stop? Pug puppy baby teeth start coming through — between 2 and 3 weeks old Pugs are born without teeth. The 2-week point in their life is a massive time in their growth and becoming the Pugs we know and love. Of course, most Pug owners will never get to see this phase in their dental development stage as Pug puppies should not be leaving their mother until they are at least 8 weeks old. While some explanations are completely harmless, there are some medical reasons for this happening - including some rather serious ones, so if your Boxer puppy or dog does display this behavior, be sure to keep reading on. In this section, we will discuss the following types of behaviors and what could be referred to as an idiosyncrasy in some cases: Head shaking as a harmless behavior Head shaking as a sign of medical issues Head shaking tremors Is it Just a Harmless Behavior? With this issue, the Boxer dog's head moves very rapidly, essentially bobbing and this can be side to side or up and down. The dog has no control over this and it can come on suddenly, often leading owners to panic as they see their Boxer stuck in this sort of tremor. With both Idiopathic head tremors and Paroxysmal Dyskinesia, the little research that has been done shows that there is no damage or harm that comes to the Boxer. Many Boxers are aware of their surroundings and even able to listen to commands during an episode of head tremors. They do not appear to be in pain and some do not even seem aware that their head is shaking or bobbing. With Paroxysmal Dyskinesia, there may also be visible shaking in the neck muscles.
