Consistent work is need on commands, so her new humans will need to dedicate time for this many times throughout the day. She can be left alone for short periods, as she does have separation anxiety. We are working with her on this daily so that when she is ready to leave to go to her forever home she will be better. She does have, and likes her night routine, getting some quite cuddle time before hand. She can sleep 6 hours through the night, as long as she does her duty right before bed. You will need to be patience with her not wanting to be in a crate especially during the day. She just wants to be with her people so much and with her energy level for her to have to hold that in for long is just not fair to her. With the energy Reesie has and the amounts she runs around now as a pup, a large yard would be important. I can see playing fetch will be a big part of her life and she would love to be able to do this in her own yard. As well will be a great helper with any yard work, or just lazing around with a toy or bone. If she does not get outside enough she will be like a toddler in the house and grab anything just to keep busy, will definitely keep you on your toes. If you try to be stern with her she looks at you with those big loving eyes that melt your heart, so you will need to be a strong leader. You will realize very quickly why the proper exercise will be a must. Reesie will require her people to be very active and athletic as she is going to need a good amount of fast paced exercise as she matures into an adult dog. My husband, Nelson and I have been in love with animals our whole lives and have always had a remarkable bond with all animals, but especially towards dogs. Our desire came not only from a passion for dogs but a calling to "do it right". After seeing so many BAD breeders, breeding only for the money and not the welfare for the dog or breed. I was devastated to learn about the large dog breeding operations, also called puppy mills that have become so popular online and are ruining the health and spirit of dog breeds. Unfortunately when there is any money to be made, there are people out there that will take advantage and abuse the situation, when it comes to a living animal, we must all take the responsibility to not support these kinds of "breeders", because if you do, you are actually supporting animal cruelty and a life of suffering. We saw the need for responsible, caring, and dedicated breeders. Our program is based on honesty. We state the ages of our breeding dogs, our breeding females have only 3 litters usually, occasionally 4 litters and are usually spayed prior to their 4 year birthday. We have guardian homes for most of our breeding dogs, because we refuse to kennel this precious and incredibly intuitive breed. We know that all animals have emotions, feelings and possess great memories. We provide an excellent quality of life for all of our dogs and are very proud to say so. Our decision to start our breeding program came very natural to me as I am proud to say that I am very maternal, nurturing, and compassionate. I remember when I was growing up, my favorite place to go as a child was always the Pet Store, just being around animals makes me happy and I had my own little farm growing up of all kinds of domesticated animals. Before my husband and I made the lifelong commitment to become breeders, We studied the real science of dog breeding. The huge genetic diversity of dog breeds and the process of selecting certain traits to achieve certain attributes fascinated us, especially the Australian Labradoodle, one of the primary reasons why the breed is so healthy is because new infusions of the foundation breeds Labrador, Poddle, and Cocker Spaniel are carefully selected and infused back into certain lines to ensure that genetic diversity. In we decided to harness our fascinations into action and began searching for our first breeding dogs, we chose the Australian Labradoodle because they are the perfect medium size dog that does not shed, and allergy-friendly, since my husband has asthma and mild allergies to pet dander. We also really loved the calm, loving temperament, and that was easy to train. In our search, we were blown away by all the positive things we heard about the Australian Labradoodle, a true service breed. Frankly it sounded too good to be true. We began absorbing everything we could about the history, health, temperament, breed standards, body conformation and anything else we could find out. Over the years of breeding we have honed in on creating a consistent temperament and certain qualities that are admired in the breed, such as coat quality, deep coloring, and blocky build. Our Australian Labradoodles are our greatest companions and we would not feel complete without them. We breed each litter with the purpose of improving this amazing breed and to carry on all the wonderful attributes that it is now so famous for. We began our breeding program while I was in college studying nursing. After graduating with my baccalaureate in nursing, I began working as a registered nurse in mainly in long-term care and administrative work, now I work from home as a Telephonic Nurse Case Manager and in a partnership my husband Nelson and I run the ins and outs of our dog breeding program. Obviously, I am very happy with the raw diet and its outcomes as switching to dry food would have been easy and cheap. I believe it is the better choice for myself and my dogs. I believe I have presented the facts fairly objectively as far as the other feeding options go. There is no standard or way to measure what natural is and what the added value of it is other then the origin of it. Natural color could come from some secretion of an insect. Special Needs Puppies These little ones need the most nutritious and high-quality food you can find. If you want to find an economic way to feed your dog, please do it later in his life. Allergies Pugs are relatively sensitive to allergies. In some cases, this is due to an external source such as home detergents, but more often than not it has to do with their diet. There are a few brands that you can try with low, or no grain. If you are feeding your pug home cooked food or a raw diet, taking the carbs and grain out would be easy. Our Pugs were and are on a raw diet from day one and we never had any issues with allergies, except for one time. We started noticing that Preston had pinkish skin around his paws and around the nose fold. Since we owned a pet food store specializing in raw food, at the time convenient, I know we tried different types of meats, but nothing helped. It took us some time to realize the cause. We had our baby daughter at the time, and since she was very close and intimate with Preston, and he was eating raw, we made sure to wipe his mouth and feet with baby wipes after every meal. The baby wipes were the culprits. We switched them both to hypo-allergenic wipes and the skin went back to normal… Hip Dysplasia Pugs are ranked as one of the breeds with the highest chances of suffering from Hip Dysplasia. This can lead to trouble in walking and running and arthritis may follow as well. If your Pug is suffering from Hip Dysplasia to any extent you may want to either supplement their diet with Chondroitin and Glucosamine or to choose a brand that is made for joint support. It is natural for them as food is not something that was always available on daily base. It is not typical for Pugs but it may happen. If it happens it will probably be a one meal deal. If your Pug misses a few meals in a row you may want to consult a vet. Treats and snacks I try and think of treats and snacks the same way I think of candy for my daughters. If the amount of treats your Pug is rivals the actual food, in quantity, you should reconsider or at least re calculate it. If you are using kibble both at meals and as treats for training, and your stubborn Pug ends up consuming a lot of treats, just take it off the next meal. The same goes for snacks. They should be a part of the total daily feeding and not extra. How long can a pug go without eating? An adult Pug can probably survive many days without food, but no Pug would stand for it. Unless your Pug has a medical condition, he will surely let you know he is hungry. Do make sure that your Pug is not deprived of fresh drinking water at all times.
