What in getting to is this breed will probably be your best friend though thick in thin but they are a lot of work too and need as much hours and room as you have, for them too. Very friendly and playful. Loves kids. Loyal and faithful but hates to be hugged. Smart too. They operate a small dairy farm on 70 acres where they and their five daughters are all involved with raising the puppies. The children are younger, and they love to play with the puppies, treating them like dolls and even playing dress up with them. The puppies are well socialized not only with people but also with other animals. Ben says the best part of raising puppies is when they make a great connection between their puppies and their new owners. Seeing people so happy when they leave with a loving puppy makes it a wonderful and worthwhile endeavor. All of the Smucker Family Farm dams were raised on the farm and have never had hip issues or any genetic anomalies.
