Their popularity created a profitable market, and careless breeding became the rule rather than the exception. The drive to breed with intention and purpose drove me to ask questions and look for answers in the not so familiar places. The research and questions that began almost ten years ago remain with me and continue to influence every step I take. What sets me apart from other breeders? What does set me apart? Most breeders do health testing, and I do as well. Not many feed their dogs a species-appropriate raw diet, but I do. I choose classes from a Ph. To make matters more challenging, I never know how many girls and boys we are getting until they are here. This reservation thing has been known to keep me up at night. Waiting for a puppy is grueling. The waitlist can be up to a year and sometimes longer and is difficult for the family and us. Ever sat on a three-legged stool? You know, the short one with the big legs? I see health testing like that stool. The coefficient of inbreeding is another leg, and genetic testing via Paw Print Genetic makes the stool complete. I have been determined to stay true to my love of knowledge and my disdain for bickering by staying out of the time-sucking social media food fights. Today, I feed raw meat and bone and add eggs from our pastured chickens. I make kefir from our raw fresh milk and toss in a few homegrown garden veggies. No matter how detailed, the puppy application is inadequate in matching the perfect family with the perfect puppy. Phone visits and emails help round out the process. Experienced breeders tell the next generation breeder that an x-ray is safe and highly accurate in counting puppies once the female is 49 days pregnant. I remember reading and rereading that. Back to the research. I found an article noting cancer in pups as young as two years of age that had been exposed to x-ray before birth. I had to wonder about the effect of repeat radiation every time the female was exposed as well. Counting puppies with x-ray would not be used in the breeding program. Be very cautious when purchasing a purebred or bernedoodle without doing your due diligence as the puppies will always be cute, but will exhibit the personalities of the bloodline used later in life.Therefore, use a reptutable breeder that has invested in the dogs they use for their breeding programs and that raise them as their own family members. They should be able to produce their pedigrees as well, and should have both parents on site so you can see how they react to you. We are very Type A when it comes to the quality of dogs which makes it more difficult to give referrals. Colors and Fur Our Premier Bernedoodles will be traditional tri-color much like a Bernese Mountain Dog , abstract tricolor similar to a traditional tricolor with less white in the face , sable similar to a traditional tri-color but has more reddish-browns due to the poodle genetics we use , phantom, merle, merle tricolor, or bi-colored brown and white, black and white, or shades thereof. Our F1b's will consist of black and whites, traditional tricolors, abstract tricolors, and lots of variable brown and reddish brown and whites. Color never reflects temperament and personality so usually most people don't really care too much what color they are. They are all really beautiful. Although there's variation due to the hybrid vigor present as a result of the recombination of genes in many arrays, there is definitely a bernedoodle appearance that is fairly consistent. If you let the hair grow, they will look like big shaggy dogs that you can't help but to give a big hug to. And they enjoy every minute of it! Our Premier Bernedoodles will tend to have wavy curly coats due to the coat types we require in our bernese mountain dogs which helps to minimize or eliminate shedding.We do make sure that our standard poodles do not carry the genetic marker known as the "Improper Coat" allele or IC for short. Wavy curly coats do require a little more grooming as compared to straight, but many, straight coats shed more.Although they are considered to be large, they don't act like a large dog in the house. They are generally very careful and calm natured as adults however they do have some puppy-fun energy thru the puppyhood stages and thru 3 years of age. They love people and other pets! We do thorough genetic testing of our adults that we use in our breeding program to assure that you are purchasing the healthiest of bernedoodle puppies. Our Bernese mountain dogs come from very long-lived blood lines in Western Europe and these longer lifespans is one of the many reasons we obtain our Berners from several specific populations known for their longevity. Obviously we can't guarantee lifespan as there are many variables outside of our control not to mention, environment, stress, climate, food, etc. But track record seems to show a longer lifespan. What's the Difference? An F1b is an F1 standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle or could be a backcross to a Bernese mountain dog but we generally use the poodle as the backcross. An F1bb is an F1b standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle. Behaviorally they are all very similar with the F1b and F1bb's being slightly smaller than our F1 standards and tend to have slightly curlier coats to a tight wave. I would like to think so, but if you do not plan on being with your bernedoodle and keeping it with you, in your home, as part of your home, this is definitely not the dog for you. They have been communicating with their siblings for the past 8 weeks using their mouth. During their normal daily interactions, you will occasionally hear a loud "yelp" in response to one biting another too hard. This yelp usually ends the mouthing behavior. Now puppies have fur and people generally do not. When you bring your bernedoodle home, they will likely display some degree of mouthing behavior toward their human family. This will usually stop this behavior. We then redirect their desire to mouth to something more appropriate like a chew toy and after a few seconds of cooperating we praise them. What do you believe is the biggest misconception others have about working for a video game studio? Isn't this where I'm obliged to mention "play"? I'm not even sure that's the biggest misconception now, though. At least, not among people who have been tracking the industry for more than a few weeks. Most people realize that there's actually a lot of hard work that goes on behind the scenes. No, the biggest thing people don't understand is scope. There's only so much you can do in a given time. There's even less you can do if you want to do it right. It's the thing new designers have the hardest time understanding — it's almost a sure thing that they'll bite off more than they can chew. It's also the thing that invariably crops up while speaking to MMO players — "Why don't you just do X? Describing how difficult even a small change can be is difficult without everyone knowing how stuff works underneath the hood. And we don't want to explain how stuff works under the hood! What other games do you play? Hope you've got some time on your hands, because this list is extensive. Usually I bring in games that I've finished or games that I've bought and probably won't finish to sit on a shelf in my office for other designers to come in and borrow. Grilling, working out at the gym, travelling, photography though I don't get to do much of that , DVR'd TV shows, movies, music all types — nobody gives me much grief for country anymore though. Forum reading. What is something that not a lot of people know about you but you wish more people would know? I'm a sensitive artist! Actually, I think we game designers have to grow a thicker skin than most people realize. There's no way you can make everyone happy, but it's surprising how many people are willing to tell you that something sucked when compared to the number of people who will take the time to tell you that they enjoyed something. Even when they do tell you that something's good, it's usually only to throw something else under the bus "Why couldn't raid X be more like raid Y? If you could have any superpower, what would it be? I can't do just one. But if I did have just one, it would be immortality. This comes up a lot, because I'm always interested in the latest life prolonging stuff did you know that they're about to enter human trials for pills that will extend the average life expectancy to ?! It's strange to me how many people aren't interested, or think that they'll be ready to kick off after another years. To hell with that. I'm a curious so-and-so. I want to see what's going on in the world in another hundred years! What was the most interesting trip you have ever taken? Living in Germany for a year as an exchange student. That probably stretches the bounds of 'trip', but I learned so much about life in other cultures. It was an experience I'd never give back.
