Of course, the cost of your future puppy can be determined by a lot of factors, but most breeders will fall into this range. Are Parti Poodles More Expensive? Yes, the Parti Poodle can be more expensive than a standard solid-colored Poodle. This is due to the fact that the Parti-colored variety is known as a rare color. So, a breeder will typically charge more for that puppy than, say, a solid-colored one. Now, this is not the case with every breeder, but most of the time is. Where Can I Find a Reputable Parti Poodle Breeder Poodles are a very popular dog breed, so it can be difficult to figure out which breeder you should go with. Unfortunately, not all Poodle breeders breed the Parti Poodle colored variety. So, below you will find four very reputable Parti Poodle breeders. All of their poodles are registered with the AKC. Their kennel and facility is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. They have their own grooming , kennels, and whelping section. All puppies come with a two-year health guarantee to ensure that your dog is healthy. The entire team helps raise and take care of the puppies until they go home to their new owner. The only difference between their Parti Poodles and their Standard Poodles is just the color. They all have great personalities and temperaments. All dogs and even puppies get socialized to develop really great temperaments. You will want to get on the waiting list because most of the time when this breeder has a litter, there are already people waiting and the puppies get all reserved. So, my advice for you is to contact the breeder and express your interest. Ask questions and see if you can place a deposit on a future litter of Parti Poodle puppies. You can do that here: Smith Standard Poodles. The passion and love for this dog breed came to this breeder a long time ago. She got her first Poodle Bonnie a long time ago when she was a little girl, and Bonnie was truly one of the best dogs around. That is when this breeder knew that one day, she wanted to provide families with amazing dogs just like her dog Bonnie. So today, she runs this breeding operation breeding a variety of different colored Poodles, including the Parti Poodle. This breeder is located in Huntsville, Alabama, and lives on a four-acre lot where all of her dogs get to run around and play. All of her dogs live inside of her home and not in a kennel. When puppies arrive, it is very important to the breeder that they start early neurological stimulation. Parti Poodle Rescue I was not able to find a specific Parti Poodle rescue, but there are a variety of Poodle-specific rescues out in the world. You may get lucky and find one with a Parti Poodle, but these rescues will have standard Poodles and mixes most of the time. One rescue you can contact is the Carolina Poodle Rescue. This is a non-profit no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehoming the poodle dog breed. Again, they have a variety of dogs available for adoption, and they also rescue mixes. To be considered for as an adoption placement, you will need to fill out an application. Dogs here will cost significantly less than from a breeder. It can be hard to find a breeder that has this variety of dogs and one that offers Parti Poodle puppies for sale. I hope that you found this article with our breeder recommendations helpful. Let us know if you plan on getting one of these dogs in the comments below. A parti-poodle is a type of poodle with a coat pattern consisting of two or more distinct colors. The colors are usually in large patches or spots. Are parti poodles recognized by kennel clubs? Are parti poodles considered a separate breed from other poodles? No, parti poodles are not considered a separate breed. They are still poodles and belong to the same breed as solid-colored poodles. The parti pattern is simply a variation in coat color and pattern. Do parti poodles have any specific health concerns? Parti poodles do not have any specific health concerns related to their coat pattern. However, like all poodles, they may be prone to certain health issues common in the breed, such as hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy PRA , and certain skin conditions. Responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary care can help mitigate these risks. James is an author, a lifelong dog lover, and a former Special Forces Medical Sergeant who worked extensively with Military Working Dogs. Life Span Did You Know? Although the Poodle is the national dog of France, they actually originated in Germany over years ago where they were commonly used as a duck hunter. Their curly coat protected them from the elements and they were bred for their excellent swimming skills, high intelligence, and incredible retrieval skills. The Poodle comes in three sizes — Standard, Miniature, and Toy. Throughout history, this dog breed has served many purposes. From living in the lap of luxury as companions to nobility to working out in the field as a valuable hunting companion to entertaining people in circuses around the world, the Poodle is right at home. Although they are more popular as a companion dog, the Poodle still maintains their athleticism and working dog instincts. Poodles are known for their intelligence, cheerful disposition, and sensitive nature. They are versatile dogs that make great family companions. They tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. Due to their sensitive nature, they tend to be a better fit for older children who understand how to approach and interact with a dog appropriately. These dogs prefer peace and harmony in the household, so very young children that are too loud or rough can stress them out. The Standard Poodle also tends to be quite energetic until they are about two years old and may be prone to knock over small children in their excitement. Standard Poodles also tend to make great watchdogs and have some protective instincts. Without proper socialization, they can become skittish, nervous, and wary of strangers. Making sure any puppy is socialized early and often helps them grow into a confident, well-rounded dog. Standard Poodles are highly adaptable dogs. Their energy level tends to make them better-suited for larger homes with room for them to run. But, they can adapt well to apartment living as long as they receive the exercise, mental stimulation, and affection that they need. They tend to do well in most climates. As with most dog breeds, they are sensitive to very hot and very cold weather. These dogs are in-tune with their owners and thrive on human companionship and affection, so they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. Poodles are a relatively healthy dog breed, but there are some potential health concerns to be aware of. Because of their larger, barrel-chested body type, the Standard Poodle is also at risk for bloat. Responsible breeders will screen and test their stock to ensure the genetic propensity for breed-related conditions is not passed along to the puppies. Poodles are highly intelligent, sensitive, and eager to please their owners. They are highly trainable, pick up things quickly, and are a good fit for owners of any experience level. Because they are sensitive and in-tune with their owners, they respond best to consistent, positive training techniques focused on rewards and praise. Poodle coats are curly or corded and come in a wide variety of colors. Although Poodles are known for their low-shedding, hypoallergenic coats, their coats still require a lot of maintenance. Keeping your Poodle in a short clip can help reduce daily maintenance, but still requires regular professional grooming every four to six weeks to maintain it. A longer coat requires daily brushing in order to prevent matting in addition to professional grooming every four to six weeks. Regular professional grooming often helps with this as nail trimming should be done monthly, at least, to keep nails from growing too long. Dental care for dogs , like brushing their teeth or using an enzyme toothpaste every day, is essential to protecting them from painful dental diseases like gum disease and tooth decay. You, your dog, and your groomer will thank you for it! Who knows? If you ensure these experiences stay positive, they could even become a bonding time that your dog enjoys. These are high energy dogs that require a good amount of exercise and mental stimulation every day in order to be happy and healthy. They love to stay busy and may enjoy running with you, going for a swim, taking trips to the dog park , hiking with you, and more. They also tend to be a good fit for several dog sports, such as agility, dock diving, obedience, flyball, tracking, and more. A fully-grown Standard Poodle usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between pounds. They can be slightly smaller than the usual as the Standard size is denoted by being more than 15 inches tall at the shoulder. A Standard Poodle generally lives years. Featured Standard Poodle Article. Our first priority, in the process of selecting our standard poodles, is health and temperament. Because of research and selection, we are able to combine these two conformation types to produce a superb, well-rounded Standard Poodle puppy who can be your newest family member. The Poodle Club of America is, of course, made up of humans that are pretty special, amazing and dedicated people. They write the standards for the breed, and the standard has to some extent changed the original look and purpose of the Standard Poodle. Our primary goal is to enrich the very small gene bank of the Standard Poodle pedigrees, which is and will continue to be the best weapon against genetic disorders. The preceding statements may raise some eyebrows and ruffle some feathers. It might even become a topic on Poodle Forum, but we stand firm in our belief and respect those who disagree. Again, because of our selective breeding, we can produce every color available in the breed of Standard Poodles. We have white standard poodles, cream standard poodles, apricot standard poodles, and red standard poodles. We offer the striking colors of jet black standard poodles, blue standard poodles, grey standard poodles, and silver standard poodles. In , after lots of research and prayer, we added the ability to produce the very controversial colors of phantom standard poodles and parti standard poodles. We also have brindle standard poodles and sable standard poodles. We are concentrating on the diversity of these colors by crossing our solid color Gentlemen with our parti and phantom Ladies. In the selection of our color variety of Standard Poodle Ladies we are striving to improve on the health and conformation. These colors are allowed to be registered with the AKC but not allowed in the conformation show ring. Our hope someday is that the non-solid variety of a Standard Poodle will be accepted in the show ring as a color variety just as the Cocker Spaniels and other breeds of color. However, a self-portrait of Rembrandt shows him with his parti colored standard poodle, in ! To see early history pictures and read more about the origin of these poodles of color, please click here. I try very hard to be the manager, but my mom, who is supposed to be retiring in , sometimes has a hard time letting go. My mom and my sister Holley, helped me design and write the website in the beginning. I did all the technical work on the website as well as the routine updates. I was finally able to pass that on to my Aunt Beth when she came on board. I designed and created all of our forms and records we use in our daily work and routines, i. One of the most fascinating things I do is the research on color genetics and then studying the pedigrees for low co-efficiency. I give advice where needed as a nurse and mid-wife. I also spend a great deal of time with our Standard Poodle puppies. I thoroughly enjoy the responsibility of examining and performing our socializing protocol with our Standard Poodle puppies. In addition to taking care of our puppies at a young age, I work with the ones we keep and the ones we buy for our breeding program; on leash training, crate training, basic commands and socialization. I can often be found in the pictures and videos as well. During these times I receive a lot of puppy kisses and I get to smell the sweet scent of puppy breath. I am very involved and busy in the public relations department. I take very serious the responsibility of placing our puppies into the right forever home. This is exceptionally important to all of us and I assure you we all take it very seriously! I also manage our relationships with other reputable Standard Poodle breeders. I appreciate all your phone calls and emails, so daily, many hours are spent fielding your questions about Standard Poodles. All Standard Poodles possess specific qualities, but with varying degrees of these qualities. I make it my mission to get to know each potential new puppy owner and introduce them to puppies who match their lifestyle and personality. Darlene and April and the other ladies here, also meet and greet our families and help in the role of placing puppies in their forever home as well. Her wisdom and talent have proven to be outstanding in the design of our breeding facility and the structure of the entire breeding program. The knowledge she has passed on to me is invaluable. It makes me so conscious of the importance of superior maintenance and routine repair of the grounds. Mom still helps me answer health questions or training issues that her years of experience better qualify her to answer. I am still learning and am sure I will for many more years to come. Most of the website photography, up until was done by my mom with all of us behind the scenes making all kinds of weird noises to get the canine Ladies and Gentlemen as well as puppies to look at the camera and smile. She still is editing and preparing the photos for the website which she enjoys very much. She also did our co-efficiency work-ups and kept our pedigrees up to date with our canine Lady and Gentlemen information. In addition to all of this, Holley handled our litter registrations and all of our AKC paperwork. She was in charge of getting our contracts and guarantees to you. She also helped me reply to emails and phone calls from you about our standard poodle babies. Late in Holley weaned herself from working full time with our Standard Poodles because she was offered a wonderful opportunity to go back to her first love of training and showing American Saddlebreds. She works with an amazing woman who has shown and trained Saddlebreds for years. My mom is very thankful to Mary Ann for giving Holley the chance to do what she loves best and is such a great mentor and friend to Holley. Holley helps train and works the horses and has a great riding lesson program for children. Now I have been able to relinquish those responsibilities to April and my Aunt Beth. Blake is now a wonderful stay at home dad to our son born July 28, .She started out doing the daily poop scooping, cleaning, feeding and watering. She gave vaccines and medications. The list was endless. No one can deal with all of us with a smile every day. Her winning smile and her bubbly personality adds to the comradery among our team. Darlene now helps me manage the kennel and is the official full time groomer of all our Family Affair Standard Poodles. Our Standard Poodle puppies get their first face and tail haircut, ear cleaning and nail cutting from Darlene. Each of our adult Standard Poodles get groomed every 8 to 10 weeks, so the grooming is a never-ending cycle. Then moms and puppies are let out into their yards and exercise runs to potty and play all day. We are so blessed to have Darlene. She is pictured below with her beloved Raven. Although her first canine love is her Miniature Dachshunds, she is as dedicated to our Standard Poodle Ladies and Gentlemen and our Standard Poodle puppies as we are. Darlene is loved and appreciated by all of us, and enjoys spending time with us even on her days off. I think we can make it happen! She was very responsible and dedicated at that young age. When she wanted to join our team again at the age of 25, we were very pleased. She came back to us on a part time basis in early .She was reliable and observant when examining and observing puppies and adults. We quickly realized she was also a great asset in the office and computer department as well. In just a few months, she started full time and then took over a lot of the task Darlene had been responsible for over the years. Erica begins her day with a quick hands-on inspection of all the babies. She gives medication, routine wormers and vaccines. Erica weighs and individually identifies each puppy with different colors of fingernail polish the day they are born. For three weeks all our Standard Poodle puppies are weighed every day. All of that attention to babies must have affected her, because in early , Erica gave birth to a beautiful baby girl that looks like a china doll. Her name is Kaelyn. We are looking forward to working with Erica for many years to come and watching Kaelyn grow up. They might be old and out of shape…. .Most, though not all, of our sires dads and dams moms are born and raised right here at Arrowhead Acres farm. Placing our adults and special needs, rather it be a puppy or adult for adoption, is something we take very seriously, because we want them to go from us straight to their forever homes and not have to be uprooted again and again in their lifetime. In most cases these adults and special needs adjust very easily from the farm to your couch! We will be available to help you and your new companion to adjust so that you both have a long, loving relationship. All of our ADOPTEES are accustomed to a doggy door for pottying purposes, and a doggy door would help them to adjust to their new home, but is not a requirement. It may require a little time and energy to make sure they understand not to potty in your home. All of our adults are crate trained and our puppies are well on their way. The main purpose of the wire crate is to allow your ADOPTEE to feel part of the family and become familiar with the family and activities while still feeling secure. In addition, we recommend the type of plastic crate that is used for shipping on airlines for nighttime, with good padding in it. This crate is enclosed and gives the dog a warm, draft free, soft, secure den like place to sleep. The majority of our adults do well on a leash. Our routine protocol for retiring all of our adult sires and dams is to do so between the ages of six and seven years. A pre-op physical and blood work are done and they are spayed or neutered. The teeth are also cleaned at this time. If needed, a Rabies vaccine is also given at this time. The cost depends on the amount of dental work, the gender and other medical procedures performed. Occasionally, for various reasons, we will have a young healthy, well socialized adult years old to retire. These are usually young adults that have simply accomplished what we needed in our breeding program and can be retired early. On other occasions we may have a male that has no interest in breeding or a female that is just not happy being a mom. Occasionally there may be a health issue or defect that does not make them a good candidate for a breeding program, but would have little or no effect on them as a family pet. For example, you should not need a routine visit to the vet for a minimum of six months and in most cases, a year. They are already crate and leash trained for the most part. They are beyond the chewing puppy stage. They are more valuable as far as training time and medical expenses than a puppy. They also will have all age appropriate vaccines, be de-wormed and freshly groomed. For our younger adults with no health or temperament issues we require a deposit of half the adoption fee as a commitment fee. You will pay with a debit or credit card over the phone. The males are released late the same afternoon. If the adoptee is being shipped we will wait s2 weeks after surgery, when the stitches are removed, to ship. This is accomplished by placing them back on our website and putting suitable and qualified new owners directly in touch with you. In this case the refund will also go directly to you. Below you will be able to see and inquire about any adoptees we may currently have available or will have in the near future. You may also read some letters and view some pictures of our previous adoptees and adoptive parents, along with their success stories. Only posts marked as Available NOW are up for adoption. Parti Standard Poodles - If you love spots, you may want a parti poodle. A parti poodle is a poodle of white and another color. There are several distinct patterns: the tuxedo, spotted, and abstract all refer to a poodle that is white and another color. That color can be black, brown, red, apricot, creme, silver, blue, grey, cafe-au-lait, or silver-beige. Parti poodles are usually more than half white with colored spots. They can range from almost a solid white with just a few spots of color to the more colorful tuxedos. Tuxedos look like a poodle dressed for a party. They have white on the legs and a white collar that may or may not go completely around the neck. Tuxedo-colored poodles also have white on the belly that should extend up to the chest. Some tuxedos have colored legs almost to the feet and others have white all the way up to their back. Abstract poodles have limited white markings and are almost a solid colored dog. The most common abstract poodle marking is a simple white mark on the chest. White splashes of color may also occur on the face, head, chest, and feet. Abstract poodles sometimes have a white chest and white feet that look like they have been dipped in paint. Ticking marks are the small spots found within the white parts of the dog. Dogs may have little to no ticking. Ticking on legs may look like small spots or be large enough to look like stripes. We have standard poodle puppies for sale in these parti color combinations: black and white parti, brown and white parti, red and white parti, apricot and white parti, blue and white parti and silver and white parti. Multi-colored poodles include parti poodles, abstracts, brindles and phantom poodles.

Do you have any other pets? We have done this with every litter and right away the puppies choose to potty outside instead of where they sleep and play. I've had several people tell me that they installed a doggy door and their puppy didn't have any accidents at all and was completely trained to the door when they brought them home. I make no guarantees on your puppy being potty trained by 8 weeks when you take them home but I do guarantee that they had a great start of pottying in the yard for weeks prior to going home. This was devastating news for my husband and I, but we knew we would continue loving and providing him with the best life possible. After several discussions, my husband and I decided that finding Hank a brother would be the perfect solution. The hunt was on, we knew we wanted another breed that was mixed with poodle. Not only because it eliminates shedding, but also because of their intelligence and faithfulness to their family. Although my husband and I had only ever had smaller breeds, we decided it was time for a change and began researching larger breeds. In the Summer of , I discovered a local family, the Bells, were going to have a litter of Bernedoodles. We had never heard of this breed. While researching the Bernedoodle, we discovered everything we were looking for; intelligent, affectionate, gentle, and loyal. I reached out to the Bells and told them my husband and I were interested in purchasing one, and asked if we could look at the litter. At Mid Missouri Bernedoodle the Bell family was extremely welcoming and invited us to come as long and as often as we wanted. The litter was just as precious in-person as they were in the pictures that were sent to us, but my eyes immediately fell in love with a little black puppy with four white paws. After our visit we went back home to discuss a little further, but we quickly realized that this puppy would be the perfect addition to our family. We brought Harold home and he immediately developed a bond with his brother, Hank. Harold quickly surpassed Hank in weight and overall size, but that has never affected their relationship. Harold is very sweet and observant, and notices when Hank needs a break from playing. Harold enjoys cuddling, long walks, other animals, and humans of all ages. He is very affectionate and protective, as he finds comfort in knowing where you are at all times. We are extremely grateful for all the help that the Bell family provided us while making this decision, and we could not be happier with our purchase. Haley Gilmore. We strive to breed our bernedoodle puppies for outstanding temperament, conformation, and of course, most important of all, health. By doing these health tests we believe it ensures that we are taking every step possible to produce the best bernedoodle puppies possible for our puppy homes. There's the solid color bernedoodle which may be black or brown or possibly other colors as well. So many Boxer are coming from families that are no longer able to financially care for them, just don't want them, many are dealing with illness or the Boxer's pet parent has passed away, and many just are moving. Without the funding or foster homes, sadly we have to turn away these surrenders. Please Foster, Fund or be a Forever Home. Watch Us In Action! Like all things in life, breeding for health is simply a matter of priority. We are blind to many of the breed priorities that distract other breeders from improving the health of the English Bulldog. We focus on health and personality and very little else. We are not interested in winning a blue ribbon in the show ring. Rather, we test for things like elongated soft palates, narrow tracheas, stenotic nares, luxation in the patellar tendons, heart defects, cherry eye, optic cilia, entropion, ect. We focus and prioritize creating healthy bloodlines, therefore our bulldogs are typically much healthier than the breed as a whole. After breeding for health, what other priorities are you focused on? Our true desire is to create the perfect family bulldog. We also believe a bulldog bred for the correct personality is essential to the family unit as well. A Bruiser Bulldog is bred for intelligence and playfulness. We want our bulldogs to be full of personality and some quirk. We believe a full personality along with a little stubbornness is the true North star of the bulldog breed and is what makes the unique among other breeds. We look for these personality traits in our adult bulldogs and continue to create bloodlines that reflect these qualities. What are the steps of your adoption process if I am located in Oregon? I am familiar with common and uncommon health problems they may face so when my boyfriend and I decided we were ready to adopt our own english puppy finding a reputable breeder that prioritizes health was most important to us. Erica and Mitch of Bruiser Bulldogs are just that. They are experienced, ethical and quality breeders. I was referred to them by my friend that I trust after I saw their gorgeous healthy puppy. Our Puppy Primrose is the light of our lives! Bruisers was there to assist us every step of the way. We would highly recommend Bruisers Bulldogs to anyone looking for their own happy, healthy pup! Leah H. We were lucky to have come across Bruiser Bulldogs and even more so the fact that they were near our family and hometown made it even better. We have had Clementine Callie for four months now, and she is a wonderful dog. Her personality is amazing, and I think part of it is breeding and the other part is Erika and her family lovingly raising the puppies in their home with plenty of attention and snuggles. I also was impressed that, rather than send the puppies out right at 8 weeks, Erika kept ours for a few extra weeks because she was tiny and not read to leave her mom yet. It's that care that differentiates Bruisers from other breeders. Emily R. Erica was easy to work with thru the entire process from application to adopting and now beyond as we host our new family member, Chief. Her on-call support and willingness to provide open, honest advice to all of our questions and concerns continues to be appreciated. We would highly recommend Bruiser Bulldogs to anyone looking for an English Bulldog to join their family. Elizabeth W. Lady L. They are experienced, responsive and knowledgeable about all things bulldog related. They went above and beyond for us and are truly dedicated to all of their pups! We love our little girl so much and would recommend Bruiser to anyone looking for a healthy beautiful bully. Jonathan E. Erica and Mitch are trustworthy, excellent communicators, fair, passionate, and produce the best bulldogs. We were at the top of the waiting list for months and Erica reached out every litter to see if we were finally ready for a bulldog. When we were, she was very easy to work with. Her knowledge on bulldogs is outstanding. We had many questions on the process and she always knew what was best for the puppy. We've had Penny formerly Blair for two months and she is very healthy, energetic, playful, and sweet. She is great with other people and dogs. We are so happy with our pup. When we are ready for bulldog 2, we will only consider Bruiser Bulldogs. Mitch C. Bowser was born April and is an integral part of our family. When we were first exploring English Bulldog breeders our biggest concern was the overall health of the dogs. We decided to work with Erica at Bruiser Bulldogs because we liked their focus on improving the breeds breathing abilities and the fact that the puppies are raised within her family environment before coming home with their new owners. Bowser also breaths clearly and our vet was impressed with his overall health from the moment we brought him home. All that said we know English Bulldogs have a predisposition to many health issues and that his current health can not predict the future. With that In mind its important to start with a breeder that open to answer any of your questions as Erica has ours, and that strongly believes in improving the breeds overall health profile. Adam B. My sister ended up finding Bruiser Bulldogs and we knew right away that they were the breeder for us. In September we ended up driving 9 hours to pick up two Bruiser bulldog puppies- one for my husband and I and one for my mom. Jackson and Penelope have been nothing but a joy. They are both very athletic and healthy. They are also HUGE snugglers and always want to be with you. It is an absolute pleasure having these two bullies in our lives! Erica is very knowledgeable about the breed. She is very hands on throughout the process and is just overall a kind and honest person to work with. With all that being said I cannot recommend Bruiser Bulldogs enough! Collyn C. One of the reasons we chose Bruiser Bulldogs was due to the claims about breeding for health. During our first visit at our vet's office, he told us that our pup was one of the healthiest English bulldogs he had ever seen. He is healthy, happy and social. Would recommend to anyone. Christina S. We seen our dog on their website and sent them an Email. Mitch called us and personally walked us through the process and made sure we had the right dog for our family. We couldn't be happier when we picked up our dog Ramsey, Erica made sure we had everything we needed and then some. They are truly amazing people who breed truly amazing dogs! Jim T. Testimonials: What others say about us Hello Dr. He is growing incredibly fast, the red is really starting to show and his ears are making their first attempts at coming up. Your method definitely has produced a solid, stable pup that was incredibly well socialized from day one. Having seen the kennels when I picked up Solo and seen the sweet, lovable temperament of both Parla and Kati it is no wonder the pups are so nice. Anyway, thanks again. In an age when the internet can make anyone look good, you guys are the real deal. Thanks again for putting this deal together. Our pup is such a delight. She seems to be housebroken as we have had zero accidents! Very playful pup indeed. Your service and assistance has truly been world class. With appreciation Ohio Dear Peter: As I indicated to you on the telephone I have spent a considerable amount of time researching breeders of quality German Shepherd Dogs with a hour drive. Having done so I have concluded that you offer exactly what we have been looking for. Your ethics, quality of dogs you breed, concern for the proper placement and a willingness to help educate us so that we can become the best possible owners that this puppy deserves is invaluable. Also, the fact that you do this for the love of the breed as opposed to earning a living means a lot not to mention the pricing structure. Pricing them so that they are affordable to the average family is another indicator of your character. West Virginia Dr. He has been nothing but wonderful. It has only been two days and he is already learning our routine. He is a very intelligent and beautiful pup. We could not be any more pleased. Thank you for everything. Thanks again for everything! He is such an amazing puppy! We plan on teaching him something new every week. Thanks again for this amazing addition to our lives! Texas I had to write you again. Smartest dog ever! He already knows how to sit and lie down after only 4 days! US As you said, a super specimen…… He has a sister named Quenda, I started to show her, conformation and they are very sociable with others in the events. We are importers and breeders of German Shepherds located in Florida. Our goal is to place fine pedigreed German Shepherds with families to become their next legend, protector and companion. This website has a wealth of information in our K-9 college as well as over 50 articles we have written on everything from breeding to training, for you to use. It has been our pleasure to share our experience with you so that your experience will be a great one with these incredible animals. We only work with a couple of top kennel partners in Europe, one which we have worked with for years, are trusted and respected within the field and are personal friends of ours for many years. Many come back to us after 10, 15 years for their next dog. Young dogs we consider to import for a client will have the following characteristics or requirements: Started in obedience, many also in protection. Started means all the foundation is set. They know how to learn and have already learned the basics of obedience. We can provide even further training prior to ship if you so desire. We consider this a more accurate predictor of joint health than the OFA requirement of 2 years. So every young German Shepherd we import must be at least 1 year old. Also by this time most of the congenital problems have surfaced and we have a much better probability of knowing if a German Shepherd has any physiological problems by that time which lowers your risk substantially of buying a German Shepherd with issues. This is a requirement for every dog we place. Videos and pictures: We will give you as many pictures and a couple of videos for you to see the dog moving and interacting as well as see the size and pigmentation and conformation. Full Pedigree analysis telling you about bloodlines and the highpoints of the dog in question Temperament analysis: We and our partners do a thorough analysis of young dogs in terms of how well they interact with other animals, with humans, energy level, drive, courage, etc. We will ask you questions about your living situation, experience, family, etc in order to aid us in matching a dog to you situation. At years old, these imported German Shepherds are still fairly adolescent and easy to matriculate into a home. Please refer to our philosophy and the Banffy Method for a description of our approach to puppies. I think you will be impressed. We stand with you through the entire process and try to make it an effortless and pleasant process. We use professional freight forwarders who will ensure your dog is taken care of. We have never had a dog arrive sick or injured in 20 years. The price of the dog includes it all. The cookie is used to store the user consent for the cookies in the category "Analytics". Snack mixes are one of the best party foods. How to Make Puppy Chow You can break the process down into three easy steps. Measure your cereal into a large bowl and set aside. In 1 quart sauce pan, heat semisweet chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter over low heat stirring frequently with a spatula until melted. Remove from heat and stir in a teaspoon vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into two gallon resealable plastic bags. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag and shake until well coated. Spread over waxed or parchment paper to cool. You want each piece of chex to have an ample amount of chocolaty peanut butter sauce for the sugar to stick to. If you like your mix extra saucy try reducing the Chex amount to only cups. You can also customize it to whatever holiday candy is being sold at the time. This can also be made dairy free by using the right chocolate and a butter substitute like margarine. Sunbutter, soybutter, almond butter, and cashew Butter are great substitutes for peanut butter in this recipe. You can even use Nutella instead for extra chocolatey Puppy Chow. It can stay at room temperature for up to 10 days, or kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. However, at my house it never lasts that long! Allow it to thaw before eating. This will allow it to set and dry. These are great for parties, get-togethers, and more! This is also the best Muddy Buddy recipe you will ever have. Muddy Buddies or Puppy Chow is seriously one of the best treats ever! This recipe is so great because it uses an entire box of Chex mix! No need to measure. And no worries about sharing because there is plenty for everyone! Muddy Buddies are so good because they are chocolatey, peanut buttery, crunchy, tasty, and oh so delicious! Muddy Buddy Ingredients: The ingredients are simple but together they create magic! Semisweet Chocolate Chips- Semisweet is just the best! Not too sweet, not too bitter. Salt- This recipe is plenty sweet so adding just a pinch of salt really helps contrast the sweetness. Vanilla Extract- Vanilla makes everything better! It adds such a delicious taste. It gives Muddy Buddies a snowy look and delicious sweet taste. You can also vary the amount of powdered sugar that is added, depending on your preference. A lot of Muddy Buddy recipes I see are pure white from powdered sugar overload. Pure heaven! But you can store Muddy Buddies in an airtight container… -at room temperature for about 4 days. I know a lot of people who love to freeze Muddy Buddies and eat it straight from the freezer! It just depends on the texture you prefer.

By April Saylor. Reviewed by Sandra C. Dogs on prescription diets should not be fed any food or treats outside the diet. But while a small piece of graham cracker is fine for Fido, what about a marshmallow or two? Marshmallows are mostly made of sugar and air, which may seem harmless enough. But as with any people food, there are risks to giving your dog marshmallows—namely, the amount of sugar and any extra ingredients that may be toxic to dogs. Does that mean dogs can eat marshmallows? While a plain little mini-mallow once in a while is probably OK for an otherwise healthy dog to eat, too much sugar can cause serious health problems. Are Marshmallows Bad for Dogs? Plain marshmallows have four basic ingredients: sugar, corn syrup, gelatin, and air, which are all non-toxic for dogs. However, sugar can be problematic for dogs who have too much, too often. More than likely, your pooch will be fine if he eats a small, plain marshmallow. But marshmallows should not be given as treats regularly, and there are some marshmallows that can be very bad for dogs if consumed. Sugar-free marshmallows often contain the sweetener xylitol that, while safe for humans, is very bad for dogs. This toxic ingredient can cause a sudden drop in blood sugar levels and lead to severe symptoms such as liver failure. As with any human food, always check the ingredient list and avoid products with xylitol. Although plain marshmallows without xylitol are not toxic, they are still not recommended as a snack. Marshmallows offer no nutritional value to dogs and are very high in sugar, which can lead to diabetes and other health problems. Marshmallows can also be a choking hazard for dogs. What To Do If Your Dog Ate Marshmallows If your dog did steal a marshmallow or two off the floor while you were baking, first assess the ingredient list to determine whether your dog may have consumed any harmful ingredients like xylitol or chocolate. While one or two plain marshmallows will likely not cause him serious harm, you should still monitor your dog for signs of digestive upset. If the ingredient list includes xylitol or your dog shows symptoms of illness, seek veterinary care right away. In some cases, prompt treatment may be necessary to prevent serious complications. If your dog experiences any of these symptoms, head to the vet:. Because of their compact size, Pugs make excellent dogs for owners who live in small spaces. These dogs are highly energetic and require daily exercise. In addition to their exercise needs, Pugs require a little bit more grooming than an average dog. Their short coats shed steadily but establishing a weekly brushing routine will help keep it under control. Many Adore the Pug dog breed for their signature facial wrinkles, but are you prepared to care for them? How Much Do Pugs Cost? Wondering how there could be such a significant variance in Pug price? As a general rule, Pug puppies price is higher than grown-ups. However many different elements affect the Pug price range. For one thing, the characteristics of the pup play a significant role in determining prices. Some traits are more rare or trendy than others, which means Pug breeders can charge more for them. Show-quality dogs with prestigious lineage also command higher prices. Following are a few considerations to make when looking for ways to save on the price of a Pug while still ensuring you bring home a healthy pup. Coat Color Pugs come in three coat colors: black, fawn, and silver. Fawn is statistically the most popular coat color for the breed. As a result, breeders can charge more money for these pups as the demand is higher. Black pug puppies for sale will likely cost the least, as they are the least favorite coat color. Purchasing a slightly older dog is a great way to save a little bit of money. If breeders have young adult dogs in stock, they will often let them go at lower prices than puppies to incentivize buyers. Pug Rescue Rescue is a great way to save a significant amount of money when bringing home a Pug. That might seem like a lot to pay for an adopted pet, but remember, Pugs for adoption will already be spayed or neutered and up to date on shots. With that in mind, adopting your new best friend almost pays for itself! What this means is that breeders will breed-specific traits into their stock, or create hybrids to achieve a desired combination of characteristics. Recently there have been a couple of Pug designs that are very trendy. These include the white Pug and the teacup Pug. The Teacup Pug Teacup dogs are all the rage at the moment. After all, what could be better than a dog that is perpetually puppy-sized?! However, there is some debate as to whether or not these dogs are ethically bred. A teacup Pug is just a tiny version of a regular Pug, not a separate breed. There is a concern in the breeding community that these dogs are just the product of breeders repeatedly breeding runt Pugs to achieve a tinier dog. This practice may not sound bad, but genetically speaking, it may result in weaker genes and subsequently more health problems. These dogs may have shorter life spans due to weaker immune systems and a higher propensity for illness. If you decide to purchase a teacup Pug, make sure you receive a certificate of health from the breeder. The White Pug Similar to teacup Pugs, white Pugs are a designer strain of pups explicitly bred to have white coats. Their popularity is attributed to the fame of an adorable white Pug fittingly named Marshmallow. There is concern that breeding white Pugs repeatedly could result in inbreeding and other negative genetic implications. Pugs love kids and make excellent pets for families due to their propensity for playtime and tolerance for just about any living environment. When looking for the perfect pup, remember that there all kinds of different factors that affect Pug price but at the end of the day, a new best friend is priceless. Calvin L. There are two of us here at Puppy Love. This enables us to have several dogs in our breeding program and still ensure that each one gets the love and attention they deserve. We raise our dogs in our homes where they are part of our busy families. We both have five kids each who help to love and train our dogs and socialize the puppies. When we purchased our first Australian Labradoodle about 12 years ago, we were surprised to find that everything we had been told about this wonderful creature called the Labradoodle was true! They are friendly and fun loving, making them a wonderful family pet for children as well as adults. They are highly intelligent, easy to train and very intuitive, making them great for animal assisted therapy. We have sold many puppies over the years for therapy purposes to families who have kids or adults with special needs and also for therapy use in health care or educational settings. They truly are amazing animals and they will have you wrapped around their little paws before you know it. We breed only true Labradoodles or the Australian Multigenerational Labradoodles. We do not breed any early cross labradoodles or any labs to poodles as we have found that there is not enough consistency in temperament as well as coat. We like to be able to ensure that all of our puppies will have great personalities combined with fleece or silky soft coats that are allergy friendly. Not all Labradoodles are Created Equal! Our labradoodles are members of our families and have really enriched our lives. We want to bring them, a wonderful family pet and companion to your home. If you have allergies and have previously been unable to enjoy a dog for a pet, our puppies are the perfect choice for you. We only breed pure Australian Labradoodles. Because these are multi generational dogs, they have a much better, hypo allergenic, very little to non shedding coat. Most of the early crosses have a tendancy to shed. With multigenerational Labradoodles you get the benefit of may years of selective breeding by the breeders that started it all in Australia. In terms of Labradoodles, you really do get what you pay for! We are not a kennel. Our Australian Labradoodle puppies are hand whelped in our home and spend the first weeks of their lives in our Master Bedrooms where they and the moms feel the most safe and secure. At 3 weeks they move into the main living area of the house. From here they can see and hear just about everything that goes on in our homes on a day to day basis. Our children, who range in ages from toddler to young adult help to love and socialize the puppies until they are ready to be adopted and go home with you. Puppies raised in this environment make the best pets because they have been given the best possible start. Abstract and Solid Goldendoodles. Maria Krieger- male. Calgary Calgary first responder and dog breeder battle over month-old Australian labradoodle service dog A dispatcher diagnosed with PTSD after taking a call about a girl killed by a C-Train says she fears she may never see her service dog again amid a custody battle that raises questions over what it means to be an animal's "guardian. Greenslade agreed to be Milllie's guardian, which is a designation somewhere between owner and foster parent. Hannah Greenslade A dispatcher diagnosed with PTSD after taking a call about a girl killed by a C-Train says she fears she may never see her service dog again amid a custody battle that raises questions over what it means to be an animal's "guardian. The issue is that Greenslade agreed to be Milllie's guardian, which is a designation somewhere between owner and foster parent. According to several dog breeder websites, a guardian is someone who agrees to provide a loving home to a breeding dog, either a female or a male, until that dog's breeding obligations are fulfilled. Afterwards, the guardian is provided full ownership. Usually a contract is signed, but in this situation, there was no formal contract issued or signed. Rather, their agreement was made over several texts and evolved over time and now neither side can come to a common understanding. They've been apart now for more than three weeks while Millie is at the breeder's in Cardston. So I wake up, she's not there, I have a panic attack. Hannah Greenslade Guardianship One of the biggest benefits to being a guardian is cost. The guardian ends up paying far less for the dog than what an owner pays. In Greenslade's case, she was not required to pay anything. She says she just had to pay for food, vet costs and anything not related to the breeding program. Greenslade alleges the owner of Puppy Love Labradoodles, Kelsie Payne, is reneging on that agreement. Payne, however, argues that agreement was based on false information and says Greenslade is unwilling to find common ground. Payne spoke to CBC News with her lawyer present. Litter debate Both sides agree their original text agreement was for Millie to have four litters. She says she later learned Millie couldn't be registered unless she was spayed. Certification would allow Millie to travel on planes and enter certain places that require the official designation. Greenslade says that initiated several back and forth text discussions with Payne that eventually led the breeder to agree to limit the number of litters to just one. Millie had her litter of nine pups last month. Greenslade says it's time to return Millie but Payne won't release her. Payne offers a different perspective. She says she initially agreed to what she thought was "support dog" training as long as it wouldn't interfere with the breeding program and was assured by Greenslade that it wouldn't. Then when Greenslade told her it was PTSD service dog training, she says she agreed to the training because she felt sympathetic to Greenslade's situation. She says she then agreed to the one litter because she says Greenslade told her Millie needed to be fixed by the age of two in order to be certified. If Millie had another litter she wouldn't be able to be fixed until she was over the age of two. But Payne says she has since learned that Millie could be certified past age two. Greenslade now says she was misinformed about the age limit. Puppy offer Payne says knowing Millie didn't have to rush out of the breeding program in order to be certified she says she suggested keeping Millie for one more round of breeding, to ensure the breeding line would continue, and then giving Millie to Greenslade. But Greenslade says she declined the offer. She says she finds it too hard to be apart from the dog. Each time Millie is bred, she must leave Greenslade for two months until the puppies are weaned. Payne says she's also offered to give Greenslade one of Millie's puppies to start over. Greenslade also declined that offer. Dogs not easily replaced Brian Archer is with the Citadel Canine Society, a national non-profit organization that provides trained service dogs, or access to trainers if they have their own dog, to first responders and veterans who are suffering with PTSD. Citadel Canine Society worked with Greenslade to train Millie. Archer says he reached out to Payne to explain the seriousness of breaking off Greenslade's and Millie's relationship, but he says he wasn't able to convince the breeder. He says part of the magic of a service dog is that its connection with its partner can't be trained, so he says if you take that away, the individual has to start all over. He says that has the potential to lead to dire consequences for the person suffering PTSD. Would-be guardians have much to consider The owner of Prairie Doodles, Gail Groeneveld, who also runs a guardian program, says these types of disagreements are rare but happen so she says it's important people know what they are getting into before they sign up to be a guardian. She says there's no question that dogs in guardian programs belong to the breeder until they are fully released to the guardian. And she says its important people research the breeder and read over the contract beforehand. Business considerations Greenslade says, based on texts from the breeder, she believes the issue is money. But Payne says it's not just about money, it's also about ensuring Millie's breeding line continues. She says it's too early to know whether one of Millie's current pups will have the quality of health and temperament needed to keep it going. Payne's lawyer says his client has done everything to try to ensure they can both be happy, and get what they want, but Greenslade has rejected their suggestions. Greenslade says she is still considering her options. She has also retained a lawyer. Her family has started an online fundraiser to pay for legal fees. She says she has no plans to give up Millie. I was hoping that she would have a change of heart and just give me the dog," said Greenslade. Clarifications An earlier version of this story referred to the dog as an Aussiedoodle. In fact, it is an Australian labradoodle. Dec 06, AM MT.

Breed Characteristics and Care Several dog breeds are notorious for the wrinkles in their skin, and these breeds come in many shapes and sizes. Some are very active while others are happier to lounge around the house. And some tend to be friendlier than others, especially around strangers. While wrinkled skin can give a dog some added charm and character, it also requires special maintenance. The wrinkles also must be kept dry in order to prevent further growth of microorganisms. Many wrinkly dogs are born with a condition called brachycephalic syndrome. They have a shortened muzzle and head, which may cause several significant health concerns that may require management, surgery, or other special care. Brachycephalic syndrome includes anatomical defects which can occlude the airway: elongated soft palate, stenotic nares, narrowed trachea, and everted laryngeal saccules. These can contribute to snoring and difficulty breathing, as well as making dogs prone to heat stroke. Ready to see come cuties? Check out 12 of the most adorable wrinkly dog breeds. Farmers used shar-peis as hunters, herders, and guard dogs because of their intelligence and brute strength. Their notable wrinkled skin and regal appearance help them stand out among other breeds. Puppies tend to have more loose skin that tightens as they mature. However, some shar-pei puppies require surgery to tack excess skin away from their eyes. Shar-peis are also prone to entropion rolling in of the eyelids and various skin issues. While cute, these dogs require an experienced and confident owner, as they are a challenging breed to own, due to their tendency to be dominant, protective, aloof, and sometimes aggressive with other dogs. While intruders are right to be afraid of the protective Neapolitan mastiff with that giant head and massive frame, these dogs tend to be loyal to their families. This breed is typically a gentle giant around those they love, exhibiting a calm temperament, but they're very strong and may be more challenging with visitors or unfamiliar people and potentially aggressive with unfamiliar dogs, due to its historical breeding for a guardian role. The voluminous folds around their head and loose skin over their body just add to the breed's charm. And their long jowls tend to drip a fair amount of drool. This Chinese breed is a popular companion for many types of owners and living situations. Pugs are small and typically very friendly and comedic. With a prepared owner, these make excellent pets. With roots tracing back to ancient civilizations, the Mastiff's imposing size and strength were historically used in battle and as guardians of castles and estates. Despite its intimidating appearance, this breed is known for its docile and affectionate nature, forming deep bonds with its family. Mastiffs are renowned for their calm and steady temperament, making them excellent companions and watchdogs. Grooming needs are minimal, but owners should remember to clean their facial skin folds regularly. Large breeds like the mastiff are prone to orthopedic issues such as hip dysplasia. Breed Overview Height: .They are tough, muscular dogs that also have a friendly, sweet, and calm side. They eventually became companion dogs rather than fighters after the outlaw of blood sports. These dogs are easily recognized by the heavy wrinkles around their face and the loose skin that hangs around their mouth. They also have loose skin across their body. While adorable and lovable, bulldogs are prone to numerous health issues, many of which can be chronic, and related to their breathing, eyes, ears, skin, and teeth. Owners should be prepared for medical expenses greater than the average dog owner. Many people love this breed for their intimidating looks in combination with an affectionate personality and fierce loyalty. The large, muscular build has made this breed a favorite among soldiers, hunters, and farmers. And that wrinkled face with short ears and soulful eyes make the Dogue extra endearing. Like other mastiffs, the Dogue de Bordeaux has been bred for decades to be protective , which may require a confident, experienced handler, extensive puppy socialization , and preparation with guests and unfamiliar people and dogs to help them be successful in their environment to be a companion pet. Originating in England, the breed was developed in the 19th century to guard estates against poachers. Despite their size and strength, the Bullmastiff is surprisingly gentle, loyal, and affectionate towards its family. This breed is incredibly devoted and protective, making it an excellent watchdog. Pug Wrinkles Overview A Pug's wrinkles are one of the amazing standout features of this incredible breed. Opposite to some breeds that were developed to have skin folds to help fend off possible wild animal attacks, this is not so with the Pug. This breed was spoiled and cherished as an indoor companion and it is believed that Pugs have wrinkles simply for aesthetic purposes, i. This article will cover: Anatomy of a Pug's Wrinkles - A look at where wrinkles are located and the thumbprint that may appear on them. Pug Wrinkle Care - The importance of keeping your Pug's wrinkles clean and dry with step-by-step instructions. Wrinkle infections - This is a common issue seen with Pugs; causes, symptoms, and treatment options. Anatomy of a Pug's Wrinkles A Pug's wrinkles are found primarily on the forehead and around the muzzle. The pattern of the wrinkles are unique to each dog and vary in exact location, length, and depth. Both black and non-black Pugs have wrinkles, though these may be more noticeable on fawns and, of course, the thumbprint is only applicable to fawns. When there is a black smudge of fur in the middle of the forehead wrinkles, this is known as a thumbprint or thumb mark and is a very desired physical traits in conformation show rings. Wrinkles on Pug Puppies vs Adults All Pugs have some level of wrinkles but this is something that develops and becomes more pronounced as a Pug matures. Most newborn Pugs do not have wrinkles; the forehead is smooth. At the 8-week mark, wrinkles may be in any state of development that ranges from not there at all to very noticeable. By the time a Pug is at the 9 to month mark, wrinkles are in place. Though the appearance of wrinkles on a young puppy is a great indication of the amount that will be present as an adult, this is not so with a lack of wrinkles. A week-old Pug with a rather smooth forehead can mature into an month old with lots of deep folds. Because wrinkles are a genetic feature, seeing the extent of wrinkles on both sire and dam can give you a good idea about how many wrinkles a Pug will have; however, genetic traits like this can jump generations. Let's look at some photo examples of Pugs at various ages and various development of facial wrinkles: This is Otis at 3 months old. Though the fur on the forehead is loose, wrinkles have not yet developed, but this will change. As you can see, he has some pronounced wrinkles on his forehead, around his eyes, and on the muzzle. There are lots of wrinkles all over the forehead and one over the top of the muzzle. The AKC breed standard states 'the wrinkles are large and deep' and the FCI states 'The wrinkles are clearly defined without exaggeration'. This said, pet Pug dogs can have wrinkles ranging from slight to heavy. Let's take a look at three different levels of wrinkles on adult Pugs: Slight wrinkles This is Boomer, at 6 years old. Though this cutie has wrinkles, they are slight when compared to some other Pugs. He has lots of large and deep wrinkles over the forehead and face. Tiny bits of food, other fine debris, and moisture often due to splashes when a Pug drinks water easily get trapped in the wrinkles. If the wrinkles are not regularly cleaned, they can start to smell funky, become irritated red inflamed areas and usually lots of itching and can develop skin infections. Simply cleaning the wrinkles during baths is not enough. At an absolute minimum, a Pug's wrinkles should be cleaned 3 times per week and ideally you will want to do this every day, up to 3 times per day after each meal. It only takes a few moments and plays a huge role in keeping the wrinkles free of odor, itching, and infections. How to Clean a Pug's Wrinkles Don't wait until you see foreign matter; get into a schedule of cleaning the wrinkles. Many owners find that doing this after each meal is a good way to remember this important grooming task. Options include a grooming wipe like Earthbath Facial Wipes for Dogs. These are gentle hypoallergenic pre-moistened cloths that are great for the wrinkle's sensitive skin with both aloe vera and vitamin E. And, another good choice is Petpost Wrinkle Wipes for Dogs which are specifically made for breeds with deep wrinkles. These are great at cleaning skin folds and have coconut oil and aloe vera to keep the wrinkles in good shape. If you choose to just use a thin washcloth, be sure to only make the cloth damp not soaked and add just a few drops of a quality canine shampoo to ensure that the pH level is correct and there are no harsh soaping agents or additives being introduced to the wrinkles. When you clean the wrinkles, this is always a good time to first make a visual inspection to look for any irritation and take note of any odd odors. If issues like this remain for more than a day or so, a topical medicated product may need to be used. This is covered next under ' Pug Wrinkle Infections '. Take your time and gently swipe down into each fold. It is important to wipe down as far as you can since bacteria, debris, and excess moisture are often found at the bottom the wrinkles. Try to make one sweeping motion. Repeat until the wipe comes out clean without any matter on it. Use new wipes as needed. If your Pug is prone to chronic wrinkle irritation or infections, it can help to use a balm or cream that creates a water-repellent barrier to keep moisture and debris from coming into contact with the skin. Essentially, this type of product is like Chapstick for the wrinkles. While you'll still want to routinely clean them, using a product like Squishface Wrinkle Paste can shield the wrinkles and help clear up irritation. Note that this is not for bacterial or yeast infections which is covered next. Wrinkle Infections Overview: Even with proper care, wrinkles can become infected. This is a common problem with Pugs since the deep skin folds are dark and moist which is the ideal environment for yeast and bacteria to grow. Some Pugs are more prone to issues than other and if a Pug has lots of wrinkles, it can be easy to mistakenly overlook one or two when cleaning them. Types of wrinkle infections: In most cases, this will be a skin yeast infection. Under certain conditions, this yeast can over-multiply. Certain health issues can trigger yeast to grow in numbers including allergies which trigger the body's immune system response. Bacterial infections can also occur, yet are seen less frequently. Signs and symptoms of wrinkle infections: Odor - This is a top sign. There may be an odd musty-type smell. Itching - A Pug may paw at his face or rub his face into surfaces like carpeting or pillows. Discharge - Though not always present, untreated infections can produce a discharge that is often clear or white. Treatment, at home: Many cases of acute wrinkle infections can be successfully treated at home using an anti-fungal and antibacterial medicated wipe. The combination of chlorhexidine gluconate and ketoconazole are typically very effective for this. The affected areas should be wiped 2 to 3 times per day for 1 week and then once per day for the second week. Discard each wipe afterward; do not re-use these. Treatment, veterinary: For stubborn infections that do not respond to at-home treatment or in the case of chronic reoccurring infections, veterinary treatment will consist of a visual inspection and a sample taken via a swab that is examined under a microscope to determine the exact cause. Once the infection clears up, there will need to be a strong focus on maintaining a strict schedule of cleaning. Do you have your book? With an abundance of folds and creases, these wrinkly dog breeds are becoming increasingly popular among dog owners. But whilst most dog owners enjoy keeping their dog clean and well-groomed, it is important to note that these wrinkly dog breeds require specialized skin maintenance when compared with other breeds. The reason is quite simple — because of their loose skin, there are areas of their wrinkly bodies that can attract dirt, dust and other particles. If left unattended, these can cause infection and irritation. Although its precise origins are unknown, it is believed that the Bloodhound originated in France or Belgium. The breed first made its way to England in the s, and was introduced in the United States towards the end of the nineteenth century. The Bloodhound was recognized by the American Kennel Club in .These days, the Bloodhound is commonly used by law enforcement and SAR teams for trailing suspects or missing individuals. They can also make great — if challenging — family pets. It has a large, spherical face, with a short muzzle that gives the face a very flat appearance. The first known reference to the Bulldog was in the midth century. The English Bulldog was commonly used in bull-baiting and other cruel sports in England. However, breed enthusiasts worked towards the end of the s to prevent the English Bulldog from extinction. The modern English Bulldog is friendly and patient, as breeders have focused on removing some of its earlier aggression. Unfortunately, they are prone to health issues and respiratory problems, owing to their short noses. On average, English Bulldogs only live to be eight to ten years old. Despite being a toy breed, Pugs are deceptively strong for their size. Originally bred as a companion dog for Chinese royalty, the first Pugs lived a life of luxury. They were highly valued and respected. The breed was imported to Europe in the s, and was one of the first breeds to be recognized by the AKC after its formation in .Pugs have a calm disposition, are affectionate, and are considered easy-to-train. They do not demand a lot of exercise or attention, making them an ideal, low maintenance pet for many households. Their suitability for this type of work — a perfect mixture of speed, size and strength — meant they were commonly utilized by gamekeepers to protect against illegal poaching. The AKC recognized the Bullmastiff in .The Bullmastiff is a particularly large dog , standing at almost 70 cm, and weighing as much as lbs. Due to their size, it is vital for Bullmastiffs to be trained and socialized at an early age to ensure they can be controlled. The Frenchie was second in AKC registrations in , and in our analysis of most popular dog breeds in the world , the Frenchie ranked in seventh place. The origins of the French Bulldog are closely linked to the English Bulldog. When bull-baiting was banned in England in , many displaced workers from the Industrial Revolution ended up in France — with their Bulldogs. The smaller versions of the Bulldog were favored by the French, and resulted in increased demand. Frenchies have advanced a long way from their bull-baiting ancestors. They make great companion dogs, and are friendly with family and strangers alike. French Bulldogs require minimal exercise and are excellent indoor pets. They were used by French hunters for their scent ability, and also because handlers were able to keep up with them due to their slower hunting speed. The Basset Hound has a relaxed temperament, and is typically friendly with humans and other dogs. Like the Bloodhound, the Basset Hound has a reputation for drooling. They are well-suited as companion dogs, but can also be used as watchdogs. It is believed that the Chow Chow originated in Asia , potentially up to eight thousand years ago. The AKC registers approximately 10, Chows per year. The Chow Chow is a strong, muscular dog, which frequently looks like it is scowling — and its firm temperament does little to dispel this initial impression. It is a devoted, loyal breed which can weigh up to lbs. At one time, the breed was classified in three varieties Bordeaux, Toulouse and Parisian based on the job the dog was bred to perform. The breed was first recorded in France in and slowly increased in popularity in other parts of the world. In the movie, Hanks, playing a police detective, was assisted by a stubborn but lovable Dogue de Bordeaux. A toy breed, the Pekingese can weigh up to 14 lbs. They are extremely loyal to their owners — a legacy of their relationship with the ruling classes of China. A double-coated breed, the Pekingese requires extensive grooming. Their abundance of fur makes it difficult for them to regulate their body temperature, so extreme care should be taken when taking a Pekingese out in warmer conditions. In modern times, the Pekingese makes a great companion pet. Whilst it closely resembles some Mastiffs, it is actually more closely related to Spitz breeds such as the Chow Chow. Whilst the Shar Pei has undergone periods of popularity, it almost faced extinction in the s due to political turmoil in China throughout the twentieth century. In fact, in the late s, the Shar Pei was mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records as the rarest dog breed in the world. This led to initiatives throughout the world to save the Shar Pei, which resulted in a significant increase in demand. That is why it is crucial to pick a reliable Golden doodle breeder with expertise in both parent breeds. As all dog owners know, every new puppy has a unique personality waiting to develop with your love and care. The standard is the largest Goldendoodle size, ranging in height and weight from 25 — 28 inches to 90 pounds. Typically, Standard Goldendoodle weighs between 50 and 65 pounds and stands between 23 and 25 inches in height. Families adore standard Goldendoodles because of their prominent playful personalities and peaceful, friendly demeanors. The Miniature or Mini Goldendoodle grows between 15 and 20 inches tall and weighs between 25 and 35 pounds when fully grown. This size Goldendoodle is the sweet spot — people who live in large homes with enclosed yards and those who live in condominiums or townhouses love this size. These little cuties weigh less than 25 pounds usually pounds and range in height from 10 to 18 inches. Our Toy Goldendoodles have the sweetest personalities and hypoallergenic qualities, making them another popular choice. Raising puppies is our job, passion, and calling. Each of our healthy puppies for sale will envelop the characteristics mentioned above but have individualized, unique qualities that we want you to look for. Are Goldendoodles Hypoallergenic? If you are looking for reduced shedding in your dog, then the Goldendoodle may be the perfect fit for you. Most Goldendoodles inherit less shedding and hypoallergenic coats, but not all Goldendoodles inherit these traits. When the puppy is around three weeks old, Goldendoodle breeders can usually tell the type of coat they will have. This allows them to find the perfect family for each pup. Do Goldendoodle Puppies Need Training? Unfortunately, at the time being, we have no specialized training packages to offer you. But we would highly recommend finding an experienced dog trainer in your local area. We have a range of prices for our Goldendoodles, depending on the type of coat, color, size, and parents. Our Goldendoodles might not be as cheap as dogs from puppy mills or backyard Goldendoodle breeders. They reflect the effort and dedication we put into presenting you with a healthy and well-tempered perfect puppy. Please review our puppy price guide on our website for more information. They were so helpful and kind and helping us and they took wonderful care of our new pup. We have already recommended them to many. Annie by Annie The best! Marcia is great, you can tell all of the dogs are extremely well taken care of. Jordan by Jordan Sent from above I had found Midwestdoodlepups on FB sometime last year as my mom was looking to add a puppy to the family. I had followed them to help her look. I heartbreakingly lost my father in a traumatic accident unexpectedly at the beginning of .My soul was still heavy from the recent lost, as I looked in his eyes I just had this feeling that I needed to look into them as long as I could. Originally my husband was not thrilled with the idea of adding another fur baby at this time to the family but I thought let me just go up and look. I reached out to Marcia to make a time to meet and we proceeded to have an hour long conversation about my recent loss and the current state of my grieving process. She so kindly prayed with me and for me and provided guidance for my healing. He has been such a blessing to our family. His impulse control is something I have never seen from a 4 month old puppy. He came already creat trained and has only ever chewed his toys. I truly forget we have a puppy in the house as he acts with more maturity than my 5 year old poodle. I am glad to report he has since won over the husband and is such a joy to be around. Goose and Marcia have brought me love and joy in a season of life that has been extremely challenging. Karrigan by Karrigan 5 star After praying and contemplating for a long while about adding another puppy to our family we decided to go with Midwestdoodlepups Marcia was such a great help and was super understanding to our situation we added formerly zazu now Raven to our family she loved her sister Hazel which is a double doodle and trains so easy practically potty trained after two weeks! Marcia made the whole process from research through picking him up so easy and reassuring. The pups were so well cared for in her peaceful environment and the transition to his new home has been so smooth. Marcia's calm presence and helpful knowledge made meeting the puppies and selecting our new guy an incredibly memorable and fun experience. We're so glad to have found Midwest Doodle Pups! Heather M. What an amazing girl! So easy to train and HUGE lover. The right beginnings gives you beautiful animals. That is exactly what we have experienced with our two. Midwest Doodle provides the very best for these dogs and we get the benefits with healthy, happy, well adjusted pups. Thank you Marcia and family. Sarah by Sarah mini bernedoodle After losing our labradoodle in November, we thought it was time to add a puppy to our household again. We found Marcia and Midwest Doodle Pups just by googling and fell in love with the coloring of one of the available pups. He's the perfect combination of playful and super chill. He's healthy and we now can't imagine life without him he's 7 months old now. I highly recommend Marcia and Midwest Doodle Pups!
