A Labradoodle puppy coat is always single layered, very soft to the touch, and often has a slight wave or curl. This puppy coat will start to shed from around 6 months of age. But, the amount of time it takes for a puppy to fully shed this coat and expose their adult coat can vary. For some, the full process can take as long as a year and a half! But, only when this puppy coat sheds will it become obvious what fur type your Labradoodle has. And, some breeders may be able to do so. But, in reality, it is very hard to do, especially if your puppy is a first generation mix i. This is because the puppy can inherit any mix of traits from their parents, and Poodles have very different fur to Labradors. If your Labradoodle puppy is a second or third generation, or if they have been backcrossed to a Poodle, their adult coat may be slightly easier to predict. There are plenty of tips available from breeders when trying to determine the adult coat of your Labradoodle puppy. The curlier this fur is, the more Poodle-like they suggest the adult coat will be. Others may state that you can make the same assumptions by looking at the whole coat — the wavier this is, the curlier the adult coat will be. Many breeders have extensive knowledge of genetics and have traced back the line of their breeding dogs a long way in order to breed the best dogs they can. You can expect to pay more by using such breeders, but this is a positive. This is one thing to bear in mind when you are looking for a breeder. Immediately Bulldogs became a massive fascination for me. The cartoons with bulldogs were by far my favorite. I would become a very excited kiddo each time a bulldog made a television appearance. This fascination grew into an obsession. Unfortunately, my first introduction to a real bulldog was a disappointment mixed with a strange sense of enthusiasm. My friend Mikey had a female English Bulldog at his house. She was tiny, chunky, super cute, and snorty. He showed me that when he nudged her chest with his shoe, she would grip it and snarl in rough play. Her bully mind was incredible, but her body was lacking. I really thought bulldogs were going to be how television portrayed them to children. There had to be something better. I was fifteen years old when I met Mr. Jack, an over-sized English Bulldog stud. I spent hours playing and wrestling around with him. He was a great bulldog, and he was reasonably similar to my giant cartoon bulldog dream. Unfortunately, he was not quite the icon of health or vigor I had hoped for, but I was completely hooked. I made a clear decision. I would become the greatest bulldog breeder in the world. My parents, however, put my dream as a bulldog breeder on hold. Over the next decade and a half, I spent countless hours and days researching genetics, anatomy, physiology, and biology. I was learning how to breed healthy versions of my beloved cartoon image bulldog. In my studies, I realized the English Bulldog is structurally limited in regards to health. I rushed right over to see this new promise of a better Bulldog. When I arrived, I saw the most superb Bulldog bitch that I had ever seen in my life! Bulldogs only moved that powerfully and quickly in the cartoons! I knew I was onto something with my brand new introduction to the Olde English Bulldogge. The sales pitch that the Olde English Bulldogge was healthy and capable sold me. Traveling around the country, I visited breeders of this amazing new breed and I bought up puppy after puppy. Dog after dog failed health and temperament tests. It quickly became evident that the Olde English Bulldogge breed also suffers from several of the same health issues which plague the English Bulldog. Compelled by obsession, I started all over, In spite of my losses. The lessons were expensive, in addition to well-received. Nevertheless, I searched tirelessly for Olde Bulldogges that would put me within reach of my ultimate goal of a bigger, better bulldog. Taking some significant losses, I realized getting what I wanted would mean creating it myself. Still obsessed with my dream, I kept searching and searching. With a few tastes here and there of what could be, I eventually stumbled upon a few exceptional dogs. As dogs finally started passing health testing, I could move forward. This small handful of quality dogs would lay the foundation for a solid breeding program. I began linebreeding my productions to make great family companion bulldogs that excel at protection. The muzzle is square, wide and deep with a strong appearance and adjusted flews. It has an undershot or scissors bite and is not faulted for broken teeth. The neck is muscular, slightly arched from the shoulder to the head, tapering and is free from loose skin at the throat. The chest is deep with closed ribs. The thighs are medium in size with well-developed muscles, joints with proper angulation about 30 degrees , and standing parallel. The joints are fairly steep but not overbuilt. The back is strong with a slightly sloping croup and a slight depression behind the withers. The tail is set low, reaching to the hocks, allowed in all forms, but a straight, intact tail without kinks is preferred. Kinked or deformed tails are docked, but the breed is not to be altered in any other way no ear cropping or dewclaw removal. The longhaired coat is thick and often appears as feathering around the ears, back of the legs and tail. All coat colors are allowed, but pure white dogs are excluded from breeding. Temperament The Mammut Bulldog is loyal, bold and fearless. It is confident and intelligent with a strong character. This breed has a moderate to high prey drive. It excels in many sports and makes a good working dog, from agility to protection training and beyond. It is a nice family dog making an excellent companion. This breed is good with children. It has a high pain tolerance. Owners need to take a determined, consistent, loving approach while remaining calm. If the dog senses you are weaker minded than he is , he will become stubborn, as he will believe it is his job to run the home. They make wonderful pets for the assertive owner who displays the right amount of leadership. Proper human to canine communication is essential. Unlike many other types of Bulldogs, the Mammut Bulldog can tolerate a wider range of colder and warmer temperatures. Exercise This breed needs to be taken on a daily walk. While out on the walk the dog must be made to heel beside or behind the person holding the lead, as in a dog's mind the leader leads the way, and that leader needs to be the human. These dogs do best with active families and make great working dogs. Comb and brush with a firm bristle brush, and bathe only when necessary. This breed is an average shedder.
