Answered More info Puppy contracted rare and life threatening Parvo Virus at breeding facility prior to delivery. Arranged with breeder, Buckeye Bernedoodles to purchase a Bernedoodle puppy. Collected the puppy on March 26th from breeder's premises and transported the dog from the breeder premises in Ohio to my home in NJ, in a car that had never carried any animal before. Dog was only allowed out for feeding and to relieve itself in isolated areas along the highway between Ohio and NJ, away from people and animals. Dog was brought to a home that had not had any animals present for at least 3 years. Parvo virus is highly contagious and spreads through direct contact with an infected dog or by indirect contact with a contaminated object. Parvo has a minimum 3 days incubation before symptoms. Our puppy began presenting Parvo virus symptoms early hours March 29th. We are advised by numerous professionals including multiple independent vets and ASPCA coordinators that it's inconceivable the puppy would have contracted the virus in our home or in isolated areas beside a roadway. Thus, leaving the breeding facility as the only reasonable source of the dog's virus, given that at the facility, our puppy would have been surrounded by other dogs, leashes, bowls and sleeping areas, as well as people constantly in contact with animals and facilities with high exposure to potential carrier animals. The breeder, Buckeye Bernedoodles, supplied us a virus infected puppy but continues to suggest they are not responsible for the puppy's Parvo virus when any reasonable assessment would conclude that they are.
