This cross blends the clever, yet amusing side of the poodle with the placid, loyal, loving nature of the golden retriever and Bernese mountain dog. Most golden mountain doodles are low- to non-shedding and are a safe bet for most people with allergies. I wanted to breed the golden retriever back into the bernedoodle because, while there are so many amazing traits within the bernedoodle, I have found that they can be stubborn. By mixing some golden retriever back into the bernedoodle, my hope was that it would reduce this stubborn streak. Golden mountain doodles are very affectionate and easy to train with a playful nature. They are people pleasers, wanting to be by your side and to learn new things. They are social and spirited dogs and have a gentle and patient disposition that makes them great with children. Because they are so easygoing, they are great for first-time dog owners and experienced ones alike. They are the perfect all-around companion. A golden mountain doodle is not a purebred and thus is not a registered breed. The Golden Retriever Golden retrievers are intelligent, large-breed dogs, oftentimes used as gun dogs, search-and-rescue dogs, and detection dogs. They are also trained as disability assistance dogs because of their gentle and loving nature and their desire to be with people. Golden retrievers love the water! Golden retrievers have a beautiful dense coat and are known to shed quite heavily. The Bernese Mountain Dog Bernese mountain dogs Berners are completely devoted to their families, with a special fondness for children. In fact, they are so loyal that it can be difficult to re-home an adult Berner. They are exceptionally beautiful dogs and have a distinctive tri-coloured coat. Bred in the Swiss Alps as farm dogs that pulled carts or drove cattle to market, the Bernese thrive in cold weather and have a double coat that sheds quite heavily. They are intelligent, strong dogs who have a moderate need for exercise. A significant number of Bernese are afflicted with hip and elbow dysplasia, or succumb to inherited cancer, heart disease, or epilepsy in middle age. While cancer is the leading cause of death for dogs in general, Bernese have a much higher rate of fatal cancer than other breeds. Overall, the Berner is one of the shorter-lived dog breeds, with a life expectancy of only seven years. This is particularly sad when the Berner is known to be slow in maturing and somewhat challenging to train. Without proper socialization, these naturally cautious and reserved dogs can become skittish and suspicious, and may develop separation anxiety. They can also be decidedly stubborn. Yet, the Bernese also has a deep need to please their humans and are surprisingly sensitive. As a result, training a Berner requires a great deal of patience and a gentle hand. Berners are affectionately known for leaning on people to soak up all the possible attention they can! The Poodle Poodles rank high on the canine intelligence scale and excel in obedience. Most people are aware that this lovely breed has a low- to non-shedding coat, making them a great choice for people with allergies. But the poodle is more than a clever show dog. They originated in Germany as hunting dogs, especially good at water retrieving. A typical poodle thrives in a busy household where there is plenty of attention to go around. If bored, poodles may find their way into mischief. They are also quick to sound an alert, and have earned a reputation for barking. Poodles can be nervous and sensitive to stress and are typically affected by eye, skin, and digestive diseases, as well as immune system diseases. Poodles come in three sizes and a wide variety of colouers. Where most dogs have double coats, poodles have a single-layer coat of dense, curly fur that sheds minimally, but will mat without proper care. If a breeder does their due diligence in selecting the right parents, crossing purebred dogs of different breeds results in puppies that are healthier than either of their parents. This is because breeds are generally prone to different genetic problems. Hybrids such as golden mountain doodles are only likely to inherit a health problem that is common to the poodle, Bernese mountain dog, and golden retriever — three breeds that share few common diseases. A hybrid dog combines the traits and characteristics of its purebred parents; with careful, conscientious breeding, the resulting pups may end up with the best attributes of each. In the case of the golden mountain doodle, the blend of the golden retriever, Bernese, and poodle produces a smart, friendly, loving, social, and playful dog. They tend to have the gentle, loving, and desire-to-please nature of the golden retriever, the laid-back, loving, and loyal nature of the Bernese, and the goofy liveliness and intelligence of the poodle. Most golden mountain doodles have a moderate activity level. Appearance and Coat Golden mountain doodles can often be confused with goldendoodles. Breeders tend to develop their own style and look of dogs. The appearance of a SwissRidge golden mountain doodle is usually stocky with a well-built frame, beautiful head, and silky and wavy coat, although the coats can vary. This breed can have a unique combination of two or three different colours within their coat, but can also be a solid colour. Every golden mountain doodle is different. Within an average litter, we will see that the majority of puppies have wavy coats, and a few have straight or curly coats. Most puppies within the litter shed minimally, if at all. Most people with allergies to dog dander are fine with a wavy or curly-coated dog. Golden mountain doodles with a curly coat are like the poodle and will not shed. While there are no guarantees, even if you have serious allergies to dander, you will do well with a curly-coated golden mountain doodle. Puppies that have a straight coat are very silky and soft, almost like velvet. This is a unique trait that I have only seen in the golden mountain doodle. If you are allergic to dog saliva and your skin breaks out in hives when licked by a dog, you will most likely be allergic to all golden mountain doodles regardless of coat type. If you still want a dog and you are allergic to saliva, I would suggest a tiny dog, as they produce less saliva. Since there are no guarantees with coat type, a responsible breeder will give you time to interact with your puppy and see if you are allergic, allowing you time to return the pup if it is not working out. It is best if you meet some doodles ahead of time, before committing to your own puppy. Since most golden mountain doodles shed little, if at all, they need to be brushed regularly to prevent matting, and must be clipped every few months. Size Golden mountain doodles come in a variety of sizes. At SwissRidge, we breed standard and mini golden mountain doodles. The standard golden mountain doodle results from crossing a goldendoodle with a bernedoodle, or any combination that would create a mixture of golden retriever, poodle, and Bernese. They will generally be 50 lbs or larger and around 23 to 29 inches at the shoulder. Most standards are in the 70 to 90 lb range. A mini golden mountain doodle results from crossing a mini goldendoodle with a mini bernedoodle. They generally range from 25 to 50 lbs and between 18 and 22 inches at the shoulder. Please keep in mind that these sizes are an average, and sometimes a puppy will fall outside the expected height and weight. Mini golden mountain doodles may have a slightly higher energy level than the standards. Since we use calm poodles in our breeding program, we tend to produce docile golden mountain doodles, regardless of size. This breed has the stamina to keep up with an athlete, but is just as happy to lay on the couch all day and chill. They are affectionate, loving family dogs and are good for first-time dog owners. Generations Golden mountain doodles are the F2 generation as two doodles are being crossed to make a golden mountain doodle. F2 is referred to as a second-generation cross, in which an F1 doodle is crossed with another F1 doodle. Health and Lifespan The first SwissRidge golden mountain doodle was bred in , so they are still a young breed. Since I can only estimate on their long-term health, I use their lineage as my guide. They are very healthy and vibrant dogs, and I estimate the average life expectancy to be around 13 years. While golden mountain doodles tend to be healthier than their parent breeds, they can still be prone to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia and certain eye problems. Skin conditions, such as hot spots and allergies, are also seen in this mix, and like many other breeds, they may get cancer. Genetic testing can reduce the risk of many diseases. A reputable breeder will perform various tests and provide evidence of the successful results. This investment is usually reflected in the higher cost of the puppy for the buyer. A higher upfront cost will most likely reduce vet bills down the road. Is This Dog for Me? Golden mountain doodles make wonderful family dogs and are suitable for most people. If you want an affectionate, loyal, non-shedding dog that is the light of your world and if you have the time and enthusiasm to raise a puppy, I predict you will be very happy with a golden mountain doodle! Many owners make the mistake of introducing their dog to a potty spot in the yard and expecting them to know what to do from there. This strategy rarely works and can lead to accidents all over your house before you even knew what happened. If your new pup does not feel like it is necessary for them to go outside at certain times, they will wait until the last minute and often make a mess inside of your home. To get around this problem, it is important to keep your puppy on a strict schedule where they are expected to go outside every couple of hours or so. You can either use an app on your phone to set up reminders or you can mark off each hour as it passes with different items such as toys. This could be anything from a small treat to verbal praise or petting. If the puppy makes a mistake and goes potty inside, do not scold them. Simply clean it up and take them outside immediately so they can understand that this is not the behavior that you are looking for. Bringing a new German Shepherd puppy into your home is an exciting experience that will bring plenty of joy to your family. Testimonials "We wanted a sister for our 6 year old GSD, Katja, she had just lost her favorite kitty Tattoo, who was 33 years old. I then started researching GSD Breeders in our area. I researched them thoroughly. From the moment Bobbi and I spoke on the phone I knew this was the perfect fit, she sent us pics of her mom n dad and pics of Zasha. All of the parents history, health records, vet checks, AKC certification and verification. We called a handful breeders and met with a couple and were saddened and discouraged. She cared, she asked tons of questions, wanted us on speaker phone to get a feel of our family. You could tell her dogs and puppies were her family just as much as any human. Bobbie encouraged us to talk it over, call her back with any questions and we were welcome anytime for a visit. We did call back with questions and planned a visit the next Saturday as they live 3 hours from us. I have never been greeted into a strangers home so warmly. All her dogs are amazing, loving, smart, beautiful and tested. Justin brought his girl Kimber home and we remained in touch by sending photos, messages and her checking in. Fast forward 1. He said to me "Mom, come on - it's Bobbie! If she's home, I bet she'd love it" so I sent a quick message and immediately she said "yes! It was intended as a short visit but we were having a nice time and Kimber and our lab were having so much fun playing with her dogs that we took much of their afternoon. She had a 5 month old puppy that we all feel in love with for her goofiness and loving manner. Sounded as though all would be fine in time but Bobbie wouldn't take that chance in case she needed extra medical care in her future etc so she gave the person who had a deposit on this girl her pick of the litter instead. Over the next 4 months she was monitored and vet checked and released with a clean bill of health. We are a busy house with 2 of Bobbie's German Shepherds, a lab and a yorkie but always try to take moments to send Bobbie updates of their antics and spoiling. I can tell you in our hunt we did not come across anyone as dedicated, responsible, committed or loving with her dogs than Bobbie and we can't leave her children or Mike out - they too were there every visit and very engaged and supportive with the dogs. Much love, " - Michelle Evjen-Freed and family Bobbie is wonderful lady, who deeply cares about her dogs. All her dogs is absolutely stunning, well behaved. I'm mom of her 2 gorgeous German Shepherds. Bobbie is very honest and responsible breeder. I love Bobbie and highly recommend her!! Julia Goudie.

So, why do Frenchies need toys in the first place? So, what are some of the biggest reasons that toys are important for French Bulldogs? Toys Provide Mental Stimulation Frenchies are smart and curious, and they need to exercise their brains regularly. Toys allow them to exercise their natural chewing instincts, saving them from pent-up energy and anxiety. Mentally and physically engaging toys are the best way to prevent this, allowing them to relieve any pent-up stress and energy. Aside from your standard dog toys, it also helps to have a few toys that allow you and your pup to play together. These play sessions will help you and your dog to grow closer while also getting in some physical activity. You should try to get in at least minutes of exercise or active play every day, but go for a bit more if you have the time. This time can include anything from walks to playing tug-of-war as long as your pup is getting up and getting moving. We think your pup will love each of these toys, so feel free to try them out! As responsible pet owners, it is crucial to understand the importance of providing them with suitable toys. They not only entertain our furry friends but also play a vital role in their overall well-being. Preventing boredom and destructive behavior French Bulldogs are intelligent creatures with a mischievous streak. Without adequate stimulation, they can become bored easily, leading to destructive behavior such as chewing on furniture or excessive barking. Make sure to feed your delicate cub with the best puppy food brands to ensure they grow into strong adults. If they are picky, the best dry dog food for small dogs will be a suitable alternative. The Husky Poodle mixed breed typically has a thick coat, so including a salmon oil supplement in its diet will assist in keeping its fur sleek, shiny, and soft. You could also go for the Nutra Thrive dog food supplement. Owners should make sure to add glucosamine supplements as their dog grows older to protect their joints, and also transition into the age-appropriate diet by switching to the best senior dry dog food in due time. Carbs are also needed but make sure you keep your dog away from high glycemic foods and grains that can trigger allergies. Because of its high energy levels, the Huskypoo has a tendency to eat a lot. Husky Poodle mix puppies four to weeks old should be fed four meals daily. This can be reduced to two feedings a day when they reach their sixth month until they turn a year old. By this time, one meal a day is enough. However, this dog is susceptible to bloating so owners should consider dividing this meal into two smaller servings per day. Poodle Crossed With Husky Exercise Requirement As the offspring of two working dogs, you should not be surprised that your Husky Poodle mix will have enormous energy reserves. After all, the Poodle has been bred to hunt while the Siberian Husky is a powerful sled dog. A Poodle crossed with Husky will require daily exercise. You should take your dog out for a run every day or walk it anywhere from an hour to one hour and a half twice a day. A trip to the dog park, swimming at the beach or even a hike will benefit your hybrid pet. Most of the time this outlet comes out in the form of destructive behavior, like chewing, digging, or barking. The Poodle Husky crossbreed also needs mental stimulation as well. This is one smart dog, and if left with nothing to do, it will find another way to amuse itself, like chewing your shoes or ripping up cushions. You should invest in puzzles and interactive toys to keep your pet engaged and happy. The market for dog toys is surprisingly robust, and these are some of the best ones out right now: Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado Treat Puzzle Toy: Dubbed a tornado because of its spinning tower, this toy will tease your dog and entice it to solve the puzzle so it can snatch the treats. This is an engaging toy that will challenge even the smartest dogs and keep them occupied for hours. Your Husky Poodle will spend hours knocking this toy around as it chews and swats it about. Because of this, most people would assume that training this mix will be easy. And it is, in a way. However, the Huskypoo can also develop the stubborn streak that Siberian Huskies are known for. This attitude can make training challenging, as your dog will test your patience and skill repeatedly in a bid for dominance. It also means that Huskypoo owners should be patient. Someone with experience training or managing large and strong-willed pets is a nice fit for this dog. Some experts say eight weeks old is a good age to commence training. These classes will teach these young dogs how to listen and follow their owner, learn manners, and socialize with other pets. Getting your puppy used to a strict routine as it grows up can prevent behavioral problems from appearing later on. Here are some tips to help training go smoothly: Keep training classes short but interesting. This will help your Husky Poodle mix master commands more easily. Crate training is vital since this breed has a tendency to get into, chew and destroy stuff when left alone for hours. Positive reinforcement works better. Always be ready with your praises and have treats and rewards on hand. This will reinforce training and your dog will quickly learn that the proper behavior will lead to a good experience. Activities that involve obedience and agility can keep them calm and engaged since these require them to use their brains. This dog will flourish with an owner or family who has an active lifestyle. You can bring your Huskypoo with you as you run or jog. Likewise, people who lead very busy lives should not get a Husky Poodle. This dog also needs a lot of space, so a home with a yard or a spacious garden with a fence is ideal. Want to know more about the Huskydoodle — mainly its physical and behavioural characteristics, price, size, coat types etc? Then read on, we have the information you need. What is a Huskydoodle? Huskydoodles are a cross of standard, miniature or toy Poodles with standard or mini—Siberian Huskies. To know more about the Huskypoo, let us consider the traits and origins of the parent dog breeds in brief: Siberian Huskies The Husky breed is believed to be at least years old and was developed by the Chukchi tribe of the Siberian peninsula to draw their sleds. The breed became even more popular when several Huskies were enlisted to deliver the life-saving Diphtheria vaccine in during an epidemic. Huskies are high-energy active dogs that are known to be quite vocal. When trained and socialised , they get along well with kids, other dogs, and even with cats. The breed might have existed since the Roman Empire but the Poodles we see today come from Germany where they were developed to aid hunters to retrieve waterfowl — especially ducks. Poodles are ideal for crossing with other dog breeds thanks to their smartness and hypoallergenic coats. Today, they rank No. Currently, hybrid dogs like Huskypoos are not recognised by the AKC. One of the main questions a Huskypoo owner will ask is: how big will my Husky Poo get? Unfortunately, you cannot have a definite answer. The appearance of a Siberian Poodle mix does not have any reference to go by since the height and weight of these dogs are not standardised. Standard Husky Poodles usually grow between inches 33 cm to 55 cm and weigh around 45 to 60 lb 20 to 27 kg. Some breeders use miniature Poodles, Toy Poodles and mini—Siberian Huskies in their breeding programs to create miniature Siberpoos. These dogs weigh about 20 lb. Therefore, the Mini Huskydoodle and Toy Huskydoodle are the smallest variations on this poodle cross. They would be suited to apartment living, providing they receive sufficient exercise. As with the height and weight, the appearance and the coat colours of the Siberian Husky-Poodle mix are also non-standardised. The same is the case with the coat. Common coat colours seen in the Husky Poodle mix are grey, white, black, brown, golden, tan, and rare colours like apricot, blue merle, chocolate merle, cream, and red-brown. Is Husky Poo hypoallergenic? Whether the Huskypoo is hypoallergenic depends on complex canine genetics. This could render them slightly hypoallergenic. You can have different generations in Doodle dogs. There is the F1 generation in this case, a purebred Husky crossed with a purebred Poodle , F2 generation two F1 hybrid Doodles crossed , and so on. You can also have an F1-B generation which involves crossing an F1 Huskypoodle and a purebred Poodle. Huskydoodles are gentle, sweet-natured dogs. Any aggressive temperament is undesirable and good breeders will not breed such dogs. The characteristic temperament of Huskydoodles is friendly, alert, energetic, and outgoing. Some Huskypoos are possessive and territorial. They are also aloof and wary of strangers. This gives them excellent guard-dog or watchdog abilities. Huskypoos are intelligent, highly trainable, and fast learners. They are easy to train and make excellent companions for families and individuals alike. Note that the Huskydoodle tends to run so you must secure your yard. This instinct to run can endanger your pet and, for its safety, you might want to confine or leash it. Huskypoos are athletic, light-footed, and playful — traits they have inherited from both the parent dog breeds. They are also agile. The best home for a Huskypoo is a home with a large yard where your pet can run and play. In addition, your dog will need at least two minute walks every day. Without this exercise, your Huskydoodle could get bored and destructive. If you love to run and hike, your Huskypoo will gladly accompany you. Like its Husky parent, the Husky Poo is born to run wild and be independent. Without the right dosage of physical and mental activity, Huskypoos can get very depressed too. Most Huskydoodles love the cool weather. They do not like the heat and might need air conditioning in the warmer months. Huskypoos are good with other dogs and will gladly socialise with them. They love being part of a pack and hate being alone. Do not be too surprised if your pet shows signs of separation anxiety when you leave for work. If possible, get another dog to give your Doodle company or hire a pet sitter. To prevent separation anxiety and other common behaviour problems from developing in your Huskydoodle puppy, crate training is highly recommended. Sometimes, Huskypoos could inherit the hunting instincts of the Siberian Husky and may even kill small animals. Therefore, you must socialise your puppy with other animals from a young age. They can be quite the drama queens if they want more pampering from you. Make sure to establish positive routines, provide mental stimulation and prevent the rehearsal of inappropriate behaviours. How Much Does a Huskydoodle Cost? The price of a Husky-Poodle mix is not standardised. Different breeders charge differently based on the efforts they have put in. What to Feed a Huskydoodle? There is no right or wrong food for a Huskydoodle since every dog is different. What suits one dog might not suit another. Thankfully, you have many options before you when it comes to choosing a food for your Huskydoodle. This includes excellent dry, wet, or semi-moist dog foods. If you make any dietary changes, do them slowly and over a period. This is essential to prevent digestive issues. Some Huskypoos have sensitive digestion and are not able to digest grains, wheat, soy, or even certain proteins. In such cases, you might need to feed it a hypoallergenic or special grain-free diet. Like most Doodle dog breeds, the Huskydoodle is a hardy dog. Since the breed is relatively new, there is no documentation of the common health issues seen in it. We can expect the same illnesses in the parent breed to impact these dogs. The best breeders will conduct genetic tests and other health checks on their breeding stock prior to breeding. This can prevent many of these genetic illnesses. The lifespan of Huskypoos is years. Subscribe for poodle mix breed information, exclusive offers and access to our community of reputable breeders. The reasons for chewing can vary , says dog trainer and author Victoria Schade, but the solution is often the same. And for Schade, a seasoned expert with over a decade of experience training dogs for clients like Animal Planet, KONG toys are a favorite, whether for large dogs, small dogs or anything in between. For Schade, it comes down to two advantages. The second perk? But for pet parents, that selection can be overwhelming. So, how do you know which toy is right for your dog? Finding the right toy for your pet often involves some trial-and-error to determine what your dog prefers. It also depends on the situation. For example, plush toys are ideal for team-play, and more durable rubber treat-dispensing toys are better for alone-time enrichment, Schade says. When in doubt, KONG recommends sizing up. They come in sizes small for dogs up to 20 pounds through XX-large for dogs 85 pounds and up. Its rubber is uniquely designed to withstand sharp puppy teeth, soothing the discomfort of and rewarding your pup for chewing an appropriate object rather than your new shoes. Mugford says, pet parents can stuff and freeze the toy, offering an edible treat as well as cooling relief. It comes in sizes small, medium and large. The KONG Stuff-a-Ball , a treat dispensing toy with plenty of space for goodies inside and average chew strength, is appropriate for a wide range of dogs—and it could be just the enticement to play that seniors need, she says. Their unique natural rubber formula also provides an outlet for natural chewing instincts while rewarding appropriate behavior. Dogs, on the other hand, might need some guidance to understand how to use their KONG toy, Schade says. Pet parents might have to help their pup figure out how to use their stuffed KONG by starting with an easy win. Stuff the toy and place it in the freezer for hours, then give it to your dog for an extended mentally rewarding challenge. Get the full recipe here. The only question is, which one will your dog love best? Start by letting your pooch sniff and investigate the toy at his own pace. But, if your pooch seems uninterested, try shaking or tossing it to help your furry friend better understand the situation. Using a high-pitched voice while introducing the Kong can also help add interest. One of the easiest ways to get your pooch quickly engaged is to fill the Kong with a couple of high-value treats and present it to your pooch. This will work in most cases, although you may still need to be a bit patient — especially with skittish doggos. Once your furry friend starts to get the hang of it, you can try out any of several different games and activities. Some of the most popular ways to use Kongs include: Play a game of fetch. Just be sure to clear your play area since the thicker rubber may be able to knock over household items. Use it as a chew toy. Kong toys are perfect for pups who love to chew. If your furry friend is a power chewer, be sure to pick up an Extreme Kong. Dogs adore the way Kongs work as treat-dispensing toys. It also challenges our canine companions by doubling as a puzzle toy. Freeze the Kong to cool off your canine. Kong toys can be filled and frozen to give your canine a cool treat. Use the Kong as a slow feeder. You can use your Kong as a slow feeder for your furry friend. Fill with Easy Treat. Make a veggie Kong. You can use dog-safe peanut butter, chopped carrots, and celery to give your dog a nutritious and delicious treat. Check out the video for the full recipe and 4 others to choose from! Use Kong Marathon treats. Kong marathon treats give your pooch a tasty treat both on the outside and inside of the Kong toy. These peanut butter toys will keep your pooch occupied and can also be frozen for a longer-lasting treat. Use a bully stick. Kongs can also be stuffed with bully sticks or other long chews so long as there is something soft in the Kong to keep the chew in place. For example, you could put dog-safe peanut butter or pumpkin puree into a Kong first, and then place a bully stick into the center of the Kong. Utilize dog-friendly peanut butter. Dog-safe peanut butter acts as a great sealant for filling Kongs with just about anything. Hopefully, this guide makes it easier for you to find the perfect fit for your furry family member. Does your dog love Kong toys? Like it? Share it! Chewing soft rubber helps alleviate teething pain. Chewing Without an acceptable outlet for natural chewing instincts, many dogs turn to destructive chewing. Prevention is key. Teach your dog acceptable chewing behavior with a treat stuffed KONG for a mentally stimulating, long-lasting challenge. Freeze to extend the chew session. Separation Anxiety Separation anxiety peaks during the first 20 minutes after a dog is alone. A treat stuffed KONG helps your dog associate being left alone with good things, alleviating those anxiety peaks. Boredom A dog will always find something to do to beat boredom— this often leads to problem behavior. Stuffed and frozen KONGs keep dogs engaged, extending playtime with a healthy, long-lasting, mentally stimulating challenge. Creating good behaviors starts with productive play that allows dogs to expend excess energy. A frozen, treat-stuffed KONG, offers a mentally occupying challenge that burns excess energy. Crate Training Crates provide a sense of security for dogs and can aid in housetraining. To help dogs build a positive association with their crates from the start, give them a KONG as a mind occupying challenge. Repeating this routine helps your dog feel safe turning their crate into their den. KONG helps dogs and puppies! Feeding Feeding meals from a KONG helps manage weight by slowing eating while providing a satisfying mental and physical challenge. Always size up for safety! You can stuff anything that is safe for your dog to eat in healthy amounts into their KONG. Soak in warm water with dish soap to loosen leftovers. Use bottle brush, an old toothbrush, or a KONG brush to remove stubborn bits inside and rinse. Or, wash in top rack of dishwasher. Make sure to skip the drying cycle as excess heat can damage the toy. All rights reserved. golden retriever puppies mixed with lab - Use tab to navigate through the menu items. What IS a Bernedoodle? These are NOT mutts which implies a breeding between unknown breeds or not carefully planned. These are designer breeds that are bred for a specific purpose. We produce an incredible bernedoodle that displays the qualities of both our champion line Standard Poodles and the Bernese Mountain Dog pedigrees. The advantage of a carefully planned mixed breed is that you get the added advantage of a phenomenon called "hybrid vigor". This process shuffles new combinations of genes that helps to increase longevity and decrease the usual ailments that impact many purebred dogs such as various forms of inherited types of cancer not all cancers have a genetic basis such as small and large cell lymphoma which is usually a result from environmental exposure. The bernedoodles are super healthy and are not as prone to the same issues that Bernese mountain dogs and standard poodles are. As a result, you have a family member for a lot longer and that will live a vibrant and healthy life if properly cared for diet, exercise, and family integration are all important components toward helping the dog to live a long happy life with you.You can see the links above about the qualities of Standard Poodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs as both are extraordinary breeds in their own right and for many, purebreds of these may be a great option as well. We prefer the Bernedoodle as they get the best of both breeds, incredibly loyal, goofy, smart, playful, intelligent, and has one of the best dog personalities we have seen in a family dog. The Premier F1 Standard Bernedoodle is a low- to mostly nonshedding we use standard poodles that do not carry the improper coat alleles and Bernese mountain dogs that have thick wavy curly coats. If you want a guarantee on non shedding, then you should try to select an F1b or F1bb bernedoodle. Both look amazingly similar to the F1 standard bernedoodles but maybe a little smaller. We will produce about 2 F1b and F1bb standard bernedoodle litters per year for those wanting a more curly coat in their bernedoodles. Premier Bernedoodles love to be with the family and do not do well in enviroments of isolation. Wherever the family is, that's right where they want to be. They are stunning dogs, and you'll likely get alot of attention and people asking you what kind of dog you have. They are beautiful and along with their incredibly gentle personalities, you will have an absolutely stunning dog. They are a perfect companion dog that love to go on walks through the city or hikes in the woods or mountains or a swim at the beach. They love it all and will be at your side the entire time. They don't tend to wander away as they prefer to be with you. They equally love just hanging out with you on the couch watching your favorite movie or watching you reading a book. They really love it all as long as you're a part of it. They are so loyal to the family. Bernedoodle puppies do have energy like most puppies, and this will continue thru about years of age at which time they really mellow out. They are not nervous nor hyper but will need some off leash time where they can really stretch their legs and run. The old motto "a tired puppy is a good puppy" always prevails! Just make sure they have a lot of fresh water and a cool spot to cool off afterward. Due to the the recombination and shuffling of new genetic variations, they do show some variation in their coloration however they also all have a common morphology that tells you it's a bernedoodle. Although we do take deposits on a first come, first pick basis, we will know the puppies well, their personalities, and can help select a puppy that best fits your lifestyle and what you are looking for. We only use Standard Poodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs to produce our Premier Bernedoodles so that any dog we accept into our Premier Bernedoodle program have passed stringent health tests, display family oriented personalities, and exhibit the best of conformation so that our bernedoodles are absolutely beautiful. Be very cautious when purchasing a purebred or bernedoodle without doing your due diligence as the puppies will always be cute, but will exhibit the personalities of the bloodline used later in life. Therefore, use a reptutable breeder that has invested in the dogs they use for their breeding programs and that raise them as their own family members. They should be able to produce their pedigrees as well, and should have both parents on site so you can see how they react to you. We are very Type A when it comes to the quality of dogs which makes it more difficult to give referrals. We are always going to be biased and believe that the wait for a Premier Bernedoodle is worth it and you'll be very happy you did! Also you can visit your local humane society and help rescue a dog at the shelter. If you have young kids be sure to get a younger dog from the shelter that can adapt to your family. But if you're looking for a unique new family member, a Premier Bernedoodle will be a true delight. Colors and Fur Our Premier Bernedoodles will be traditional tri-color much like a Bernese Mountain Dog , abstract tricolor similar to a traditional tricolor with less white in the face , sable similar to a traditional tri-color but has more reddish-browns due to the poodle genetics we use , phantom, merle, merle tricolor, or bi-colored brown and white, black and white, or shades thereof. Our F1b's will consist of black and whites, traditional tricolors, abstract tricolors, and lots of variable brown and reddish brown and whites. Color never reflects temperament and personality so usually most people don't really care too much what color they are. They are all really beautiful. Although there's variation due to the hybrid vigor present as a result of the recombination of genes in many arrays, there is definitely a bernedoodle appearance that is fairly consistent. If you let the hair grow, they will look like big shaggy dogs that you can't help but to give a big hug to. And they enjoy every minute of it! Our Premier Bernedoodles will tend to have wavy curly coats due to the coat types we require in our bernese mountain dogs which helps to minimize or eliminate shedding. We do make sure that our standard poodles do not carry the genetic marker known as the "Improper Coat" allele or IC for short. Wavy curly coats do require a little more grooming as compared to straight, but many, straight coats shed more.Although they are considered to be large, they don't act like a large dog in the house. They are generally very careful and calm natured as adults however they do have some puppy-fun energy thru the puppyhood stages and thru 3 years of age. They love people and other pets! We do thorough genetic testing of our adults that we use in our breeding program to assure that you are purchasing the healthiest of bernedoodle puppies. Our Bernese mountain dogs come from very long-lived blood lines in Western Europe and these longer lifespans is one of the many reasons we obtain our Berners from several specific populations known for their longevity. Obviously we can't guarantee lifespan as there are many variables outside of our control not to mention, environment, stress, climate, food, etc. But track record seems to show a longer lifespan. What's the Difference? An F1b is an F1 standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle or could be a backcross to a Bernese mountain dog but we generally use the poodle as the backcross. An F1bb is an F1b standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle. Behaviorally they are all very similar with the F1b and F1bb's being slightly smaller than our F1 standards and tend to have slightly curlier coats to a tight wave. If you're looking for a smaller standard Bernedoodle these would be a great option. Pictures are posted below with the other pictures. We continue to get lots of praise from those that have purchased our F1b and F1bb standard bernedoodles. Is the Bernedoodle for Everybody? I would like to think so, but if you do not plan on being with your bernedoodle and keeping it with you, in your home, as part of your home, this is definitely not the dog for you. They thrive on being with the family and not isolated we believe this is the case for all dogs, and especially bernedoodles. Any of our puppies kept in a permanent kennel situation, on a tether, or the like, will violate the terms and conditions of our puppy contract and will have to render the puppy or dog back to Premier Doodles see puppy contract in link above. We definitely support crate training, but these dogs are not meant to live their life in a crate nor kennel! If you want a pet that prefers to be in isolation, you may want to consider a nonsocial pet perhaps a Betta fish! Yes we have done a lot of the hard work the first 8 weeks as we do extensive early neurological stimulation bio-sensor and Puppy Culture program, along with starting crate training and housebreaking, BUT, they are puppies and will need your undivided attention for the next weeks as they work towards being completely housebroken and earning more privileges. They have been communicating with their siblings for the past 8 weeks using their mouth. During their normal daily interactions, you will occasionally hear a loud "yelp" in response to one biting another too hard. This yelp usually ends the mouthing behavior. Now puppies have fur and people generally do not. When you bring your bernedoodle home, they will likely display some degree of mouthing behavior toward their human family. This will usually stop this behavior. We then redirect their desire to mouth to something more appropriate like a chew toy and after a few seconds of cooperating we praise them. The good news.We have a Puppy Guide under our tab "Puppy Central" on how to unpack this process so that you can have success. If you put them time in early, they will have this knocked out in a few days. The rule of thumb is to get them outside ALOT.Be sure to purchase two Midwest XL crates can get from our Puppy Store , one for the back door and one next to your bed. The power of meiosis specialized cell division event that occurs in the reproductive organs, ovaries for females and testes for males and crossing over assures that each offspring will be diverse and different and this difference will be noticeable in color and a little bit in behavior. All will be superior, but some will be more playful and others less so, some will mouth more than others, etc. Available Puppies.Check out our "Available Puppies" tab at the top to find out how to get onto our Master List for a future puppy! History of Bernedoodles As covered, the Bernedoodle is a mixed dog breed. Due to their pedigree, Bernedoodles are very affectionate , incredibly loyal, and good-natured, which are the traits they inherit from Bernese Mountain Dogs. Bernedoodle puppies are also very well-mannered, a trait common among Poodles. At least not to the level this magnificent breed deserves. Bred from Great Mastiffs and other types of guard dog breeds, the Bernese Mountain Dog was brought over to Switzerland approximately 2, years ago by the Romans. Aside from being known for having a loving personality, these breeds are only one of the four kinds of Sennenhund-type dogs from the Swiss Alps. These dogs were generally known as farm dogs that worked hard. Eventually, the Bernese Mountain Dog breed mixed with the Poodle breed led to the creation of the incredible Bernedoodle dog breed.
