She fluctuates from 16 — 18 pounds depending on the season and the amount of exercise she is getting. She runs, plays, chases birds, rabbits and anything else that moves. She still acts as silly as ever. She still gets the zoomies, goes on regular walks and is living a happy and healthy life. Other than a little bit of incontinence and some cloudiness in the eyes, aging has been good to her. Every birthday that passes, we realize just how lucky we are to have her around! She is starting to show her age at this point and we are doing everything we can to make this journey last as long as possible. While she does have a few issues, she is still mostly healthy. Her main issue is kidney disease. She is currently in upper stage 2 and we are doing everything we can to slow the progression. She also has some other issues associated with aging including arthritis, cloudy eyes, and slight hearing loss. However, she still has lots of playful energy and still loves playing hide and seek with us in the house. She goes up and down the stairs as well as she always has and she still loves to chase rabbits and birds around the backyard, sometimes in an all-out sprint! We love taking in these moments when she has a burst of energy and plays in ways that are reminiscent of her younger years. However, what we love most is just seeing her happy and content while snuggling up against us. We think the world of her and are grateful for each day we get to spend with her! We cannot guarantee a puppy will be in the expected size range due to the differing genetic sizes to the parents, but our average generally holds true. At days old babies go to the Vet to have a checkup and have dew claws and tails removed if needed, babies remain in the house, normally in our bedrooms until they are about 4 weeks old when they start having trips outside, they also begin eating mushy food with NuVet in it at weeks, they have no teeth yet but that don't stop them, so by the time mom decides to begin weaning them at weeks they know what food is and are eating well. They are well socialized and will get lots of love and snuggles before they go home, they are around other dogs, our cat Milo passed away so not around cats anymore, but people and a loud noisy household. Puppy choice day is at 6 weeks old. We have learned that at that age their personalities really shine and people are able to make their selection. You will be contacted the week before to set a time to come by and meet them to make your choice. If you desire, please bring a t-shirt in a ziploc bag with your name on it for your puppy. It will be for you to take home at 8 weeks old and smell like mom for your new little family member. At 7 weeks old, the puppies will get their exam and first set of vaccinations. We will have you send a check for the remaining balance due at 7 weeks, or plan on bringing cash when the puppies are 8 weeks old.
