English Lab Temperament There are differences in temperament between English and American Labs, but they may not always be as well-defined as we might prefer. Both strains of Labrador Retrievers are known to be friendly, kind-natured dogs overall. However, the English Lab may in some cases be less energetic and driven outdoors.
