Exercise Grooming In the past, the English bulldog was used by foreign immigrants who moved to South America and brought their dogs with them. The breed, however, became close to extinction after the second world war. Some breeders, John D. Johnson, and Alan Scott kept infusing several bulldogs together in the bid to breed the American Bulldog while monitoring its health and capabilities. Today, the American bulldog is completely rid of the fear of being extinct and has become one of the most popular dog breeds in the country. The American bulldog is many sizes larger than the English Bulldog; however, they are quite similar when it comes to their temperament. It is basically a huge, cuddly, lap dog that loves children and is very affectionate. It is brave, confident and extremely loyal to its owners. They can be quite reserved when around strangers as they like to mark their territories. When trained from a young age, the American Bulldog will display an impressive level of intelligence. They are not so friendly with other strange dogs and mostly like to keep to themselves. As earlier stated, the American bulldog is a fun-loving, happy dog that thrives in a family setting. The perfect environment for this breed would be a home with a large backyard that is well fenced-in. Since they are very energetic and must be kept active, it is imperative to their growth that they have ample space to run around during the day. This is crucial for their mental and physical well-being. For dog lovers who live in apartments, the American bulldog might not be the best option for them. This is because there is inadequate space for them and being left alone would adversely affect their mental health. They can also become very irritable and destructive if left alone for long periods as they need constant mental and physical stimulation. The American Bulldog needs about two hours of outdoor exercise on a daily basis. It goes without saying that this breed is not suitable for people who work many hours every day. This dog breed requires basic physical and mental stimulation like jogging, walking, chasing balls, playing fetch, farm work, agility, and basic obedience exercises. Due to the temperament of the American Bulldog, it has to get as much exercise preferably in the outdoors. If its exercise requirements are not consistently met, this dog breed will take out its frustration in your home by chewing apart and basically destroying everything it comes in contact with while running around. The American Bulldog has quite a short coat with a minimized length and this feature makes it easy to groom. Brushing their coats weekly is usually enough when it comes to grooming the American Bulldog as they do not shed a lot. They also need thorough baths weekly or as needed as this will keep the shedding in check. Our American Bulldog puppies for sale come from either USDA licensed commercial breeders or hobby breeders with no more than 5 breeding mothers. We only purchase puppies from the very best sources, and we stand behind every puppy we sell. American Bulldogs love routine and will adapt to an exercise and grooming routine if the owner enforces it perfectly. As loyal dogs, they love to please their owners but will only obey upon frequent reinforcements. Do American Bulldogs shed a lot? Since they do not have a lot of fur, they do not shed a lot and owners will not have a lot of hair to clean up, unlike many other dog breeds. Why do American Bulldogs have webbed feet? This is mainly due to genetics and is not a cause for concern. Should American Bulldogs be spayed? Many vets advise that American Bulldog owners should ensure their pets are neutered or spayed when it is between four and nine months. How often should American Bulldogs be fed? The American bulldog has a very large appetite in its formative years. They must, therefore, be fed very often about four times daily and in double portions when they are puppies right until they turn four. Are American Bulldogs a food fit in families? The American bulldog will fit right into your family. They love kids and tend to gravitate towards them. Do American Bulldogs have common health problems? A lot of the health problems experienced by American bulldogs are mostly genetic and do not affect the entire breed. These ailments could range from the kidney to thyroid disorders and a lot more. What is the American Bulldogs life expectancy? The American bulldog has an average lifespan ranging from ten to fifteen years. What is the American Bulldogs average size? The average American Bulldog can grow to 58kg for males and 41kg for females. However, it is important that their diets are closely monitored to keep them from getting overweight. How tall do American Bulldogs get? The male American bulldog can grow as tall as 71cm while its female counterpart can grow up to 61cm. If you want a loyal, smart and incredibly active dog, then the American Bulldog is the perfect fit for you. Are you interested in purchasing a American Bulldog? Fill out the below form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Life Span Did You Know? The American Bulldog is a descendant of a generic bulldog type of dog breed brought into the region that is now the Southern United States by working-class immigrants many years ago. These were all-around working dogs used by small farmers and ranchers for several tasks around the farm. They were often found working as catch dogs, stock dogs, and overall farm guardians. When feral pigs were introduced to the New World, they had no natural predators and the population quickly grew out of control. In addition to their farm duties, the settlers found the bulldog-type dog to be the best solution they had for dealing with it. So, the bulldog continued to thrive, especially in the South. Johnson and Alan Scott that we have what we know today as the American Bulldog. Modern American Bulldogs can still be found working as all-around utility dogs, farm dogs, catch dogs, cattle drovers, and more. They can also be found competing in dog sports, working as a guardian, police, or military dog, and are also popular as a family pet. This dog breed is a sweetheart with a gentle, fun-loving nature. The American Bulldog is affectionate and adores their families. They also love children and tend to be good with other animals. American Bulldogs can have a high prey drive, so you will want to make sure you introduce and socialize them properly with other small animals in the household. Due to their protective nature, they can be aloof towards strangers and strange dogs, especially when they are younger. Early socialization can help them be more comfortable navigating their guardian instincts. Overall, this dog breed tends to be confident, social, and are most at ease and relaxed when they are with the people they love. American Bulldogs are an emotional dog breed and thrives on human attention and affection, so they tend to bond strongly with their owners and may come across as clingy sometimes. They will also often convince themselves that they are lap dogs regardless of their size, so make sure you are ready for a lot of love and cuddles with your American Bulldog, drool and all! The American Bulldog is a moderately adaptable dog breed. They are strong, high-energy working dogs that love being around their favorite humans. This makes them better suited to larger homes with space for them to run. They are not generally a good fit for apartment living, but they can adapt as long as they get more than enough exercise and attention. Because they do tend to bond strongly with their owners and want to be near them, they do not tend to do well with long periods of time alone. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to extreme heat or cold, but can adapt to well to most climates. There are some health issues that can be found in specific genetic lines and are not common to the breed overall, but these can be ruled out with genetic tests. Some potential health conditions to be aware of in general with the American Bulldog include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, thyroid disorders, kidney disorders, bone cancer, and eye-related issues like ectropion, entropion, and cherry eye. Talking to the breeder about the genetic history of the parents and asking to see any health clearances can help allay potential concerns. American Bulldogs are highly trainable and eager to please, so they are a good fit for owners of any experience level, including first-time dog owners. They can have a stubborn streak, so a first-time dog owner may want to consider enrolling in puppy training classes. As with any dog breed, early and ongoing training and socialization are important for your American Bulldog puppy to grow into a well-rounded, and a well-behaved, dog. This dog breed has a short coat that is generally smooth. Common coat colors are white and predominately white with patches of brindle, black, or red. More coat color patterns are emerging and becoming more common like all shades of brindle, fawn, brown, red, and more. The American Bulldog is relatively low maintenance and easy to groom and they are light to moderate shedders. They only require a bath as needed. But, you will need to be prepared to deal with some extra drool! Floppy ears tend to trap moisture and dirt, which can lead to ear infections. The ideal dental care for dogs is using an enzyme toothpaste or brushing their teeth every day. Dental hygiene chews or treats, a specially-formulated dental care diet, and more can be used to supplement your dental care efforts. The American Bulldog is an athletic and high-energy dog breed. They love daily walks and plenty of playtime outside. They may even enjoy plenty of other activities with you like swimming, hiking , and more. With their working dog background, this dog breed does need a job to do in order to stay happy and healthy. They also tend to be a good candidate for dog sports like obedience, weight pulling, the Iron Dog competition, and more. A fully-grown American Bulldog usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between pounds. An American Bulldog generally lives for years. Chance, one of the canine stars from the Homeward Bound films, was an American Bulldog. Featured American Bulldog Article. We specialize in Bully-type, also sometimes referred to as Johnson American Bulldogs. However on occasion we do produce fantastic standard- and hybrid-type American Bulldogs. We breed for functional and balanced temperament allowing for the American Bulldog to be a family member and a companion while having the drive and intelligence to perform desired functions. At Grand Future, we typically produce large American Bulldogs. Males range in lbs and females range in lbs. We have always bred to a significantly stricter breed standard than the current American Bulldog breed standards under U. Dogs with the following characteristics are not shown at conformation shows nor bred in our kennel: 1. Full black mask — this genetic trait is usually a result of another breed having been infused into the gene pool. Usually a dog with a kinked tail itself is not at risk of health complications as a result of the kinked tail. Teeth — dogs missing more than 3 teeth. Dogs lacking full pigmentation are more susceptible to various health problems. Lack of pigment is also responsible for deafness in dogs. We have never produced a deaf dog. Interested in a puppy? We have many repeat buyers — over 30 families have purchased 2,3,4, and even 5 dogs. Our dogs generally love children and have balanced temperament. Having produced over dogs in 7 generations, we have history and data that allows us to make some conclusions that we believe are significant. The very common problem of hip dysplasia that afflicts this breed is nearly non-existent in our kennel. Our dogs tend to have normal locomotion — good movement due to anatomically sound physical structure. Our dogs have never torn ligaments such as the Canine Cruciate Ligament CCL , which leads us to conclude that such problems are likely hereditary in nature. Our dogs have never prematurely died from heart problems, which leads us to conclude that such problems are likely hereditary in nature. Our dogs have never been diagnosed with tracheal hypoplasia — a hereditary genetic defect common in bulldog breeds that leads to potential deadly obstruction of the airway. Our dogs tend to live long. Our foundation dog lived to the age of 15 years and 10 months old. Our dogs have never been afflicted with cancer at a young age. The earliest instance of cancer has been encountered at 8 years of age by one dog. The remainder of cases have been documented at over 10 years of age. The biggest tragedy for an owner is in having to care for a sick dog as a result of poor breeding, and be absolutely helpless as that dog passes in their arms. Exorbitant medical bills end up being paid to prolong the time together even by just a little with the beloved family member. As with any animal breeding program, our kennel is not immune from problems. This drives us to continually improve. We maintain contact and help our owners in any way we can; even at 4AM or during a vacation since we have owners all over the world in various timezones. Our breeding expertise enables us to deliver healthy, beautiful, strong, and intelligent American Bulldog puppies. We provide a contractual health guarantee against the following genetic health problems — hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, Canine Cruciate Ligament CCL ruptures, cataracts, entropion, ectropion, heart, kidneys, thyroid, ichthyosis, cryptorchidism, epilepsy, and any neurological disorders including NCL. Our conversation with a prospective owner always involves questions to understand the kind of dog the person would like — the more details the better. If so inclined, the prospective owner can request guidance in picking the puppy based on personality and activity level, temperament, phenotype, and more. We evaluate our puppies at 6 weeks of age on a variety of parameters. We provide lifetime unlimited advice and guidance by phone to owners concerning all subjects relating to dog ownership. You can be sure you will have the information you need to succeed even if this is going to be your first American Bulldog puppy. Because we stand by the quality of our work, we want our owners to participate in our breeding program and we are happy to provide the necessary guidance. Our dogs are also ideal candidates for service animal work. Training a service dog requires a significant investment of time and money, making the genetic health and temperament of the dog even more critical. A service dog needs to be healthy, hassle-free, intelligent and receptive to training, have stable temperament to handle any type of environment, and of course lead a long life disease-free. Posted By:annamarial20 Since my arrival in Cyprus at the end of march i have seen some very disturbing scenes of animals that have been abandoned and on a trip to Limassol a cat that was extremrly thin and was having severe diorroreah. Only last week my friend and i saw another dog abandoned in Kiti it was a young pup but was covered in tics it was heart breaking he also was very friendly. Fortunately a very kind lady took the dog home. About a month ago I saw 3 poodles in a beach bar at Menou, 2 were pups I do wonder if these 2 chaps are them as they look very familiar, I was so taken with them as they too were extremely friendly. As i was going home I did regret at least taking one of them. The next day we were told that they had gone. Anyway I have sent you an email with my details and a couple of questions. Regards Anna Posted By:yappster. History - Cyprus Poodle for Sale Unfortunately the Island of Cyprus may well be beautiful and have a wonderful climate, but when you take a deeper look, the island has a serious problem with feral cats and stray dogs. The many sanctuaries battle to keep up with the volume of neglected and abandoned animals on the island. One of the dogs found on the Island of Cyprus is the Cyprus Poodle. Some people say that the Cyprus Poodle is a cross between a poodle and a terrier. Today this small dog is sought after in other countries for his loving personality and attractive looks. Description - Cyprus Poodle for Sale The Cyprus Poodle is such an attractive little dog with his jaunty personality and his dense, curly hair. He stands in the region of 20 to 30cm and can weigh roughly 3 to 6kg. His hair is essentially cream or white with orangey tips and some people claim he is a cross between a poodle and a terrier. He is a small dog. His curly coat is woolly and can be in a number of different colors such as white, ivory or apricot or even other colors. He has floppy ears, a long tail and brown eyes. He loves to go for a swim and then to dart around the place so he may require a bath every now and again to keep his beautiful coat clean and free of matting. Temperament: The Cyprus Poodle is an even tempered dog and he makes the perfect family pet, forming close bonds with his human family members. He is playful, social and friendly and gets on well with children in the home as well as any other pets. He may be a small, friendly dog, but he will need training and socialization if you want him to be obedient and relaxed around other people. Characteristics - Cyprus Poodle for Sale Your Cyprus Poodle is just dying to be a member of a human family because he has a lot of love and friendliness to give. He wants lots of love and attention in return though. Make sure that he is a fully involved family member. He is such a friendly, loving, social little dog and in exchange for your love and care, he is guaranteed to make you a most wonderful and loyal friend. Health Problems - Cyprus Poodle for Sale Because the Cyprus Poodle is a cross-breed, he is a robust, long-life dog and not likely to get ill very easily. Your Cyprus Poodle can have between 1 to 6 puppies but there are tremendous health benefits waiting for your pet when you ensure that he is rather neutered or spayed in the case of a female. Make sure too that he has all his vaccinations up to date. Make sure he has an excellent diet, a warm, dry place to sleep, he is exercised and that he gets regular check-ups from the vet. There are some common dog illnesses that you want to look out for. When he is a puppy make sure that he gets the necessary vaccination against life threatening illnesses such as parvovirus, distemper and rabies. Cushing's Disease: This is an illness that comes about when the body of your dogs makes too much cortisol. It is difficult for you to see symptoms of this disease in your pet, but if he is displaying unusual behavior, then you want to get him to the vet who can decide on treatment for him. Caring The Pet - Cyprus Poodle for Sale Diet: A cyprus poodle makes such a good pet and you will want to ensure that you feed your one an excellent diet so that he remains healthy and content. Some people are overwhelmed at the sheer variety of commercially manufactured dog foods today, but the choice can be made a lot simpler by sticking to the better quality ones where protein is at the top of the ingredients list. Home made food such as cooked brown rice, vegetables and cooked chicken will be excellent for your Cyprus Poodle as well as including some raw meat in the diet. Make sure he always has access to cool, clean water as this water is essential to his health, making it possible for all his bodily functions. Grooming: Brush his hair regularly and brush his teeth 2 or 3 times a week. Make sure to use toothpaste and toothbrush specially designed for dogs. Take your poodle for walks and play games with him so that he remains healthy and content.

Degenerative Myelopathy Von Willebrand Disease Perhaps the most well-known is hip dysplasia, a condition that causes the hip joint to develop abnormally. This can lead to pain and lameness, and eventually requiring surgery. German Shepherds are also at risk for elbow dysplasia, a similar condition that affects the elbow joint. Other common health problems include allergies, intestinal issues, and eye problems. With proper care and diet, however, German Shepherds can live long and healthy lives. Finding a German Shepherd puppy for sale from a reputable breeder can dramatically — although, not eliminate — the risk of your dog developing some of these conditions. While German Shepherds are often considered to be low-maintenance when it comes to grooming, their coats do require some care and attention. The most important thing to know about German Shepherd coat care is that the breed does not shed uniformly throughout the year. After the shedding period has ended, you can reduce the frequency of brushing to once or twice a week. In addition to regular brushing, German Shepherds also need to be bathed on occasion. How often you need to bathe your German Shepherd will depend on factors such as how often they play outside and whether they have any allergies or skin sensitivities. Generally speaking, however, a once-monthly bath is sufficient for most dogs. German Shepherd Puppies For Sale. Purebred parents are both akc certified. Dam is long haired. Sire is short haired. Some people may be put off by their size, but they are sweet and careful dogs. These Doods are an amazing family dog with a heart of gold. Imagine the cuddle sessions you can have with this fluffy pooch! They love children and often take on a guardian role in their life. Their protective nature extends throughout the house, making them a careful watchdog who may scare off intruders. Meet The Pyredoodle Pyredoodles first began being bred in the s in the USA, but rose in popularity in the early s. Like most Doodles, they were bred with the desire to have more low-shedding dogs for those with allergies. As a cross between the Great Pyrenees and the Standard Poodle, they are considered a designer breed. The American Kennel Club does not recognize any designer breeds. They are large dogs, ranging from 85 to pounds and 15 to 32 inches tall. Since they are a relatively new breed, there is a wider range of Pyredoodle sizes. Expect them to be large, but some may be smaller depending on the Poodle parent. See Also: Click the image Since both parent breeds have such different coats, you can expect to see a large range of colors and coat types. Pyredoodles come in grey, white, apricot, cream, and black. They can be either solid or a mixture of colors. Pyredoodles are prized for being the protectors of the house. Larger dogs tend to have a slightly shorter lifespan than smaller ones. You can expect Pyredoodles to live anywhere from 10 to 12 years. Great is the perfect word for this dog. It encompasses not only their size but their attitude as well. Great Pyrenees are considered a working dog breed, originally bred to keep predators away from livestock in colder climates. While they may look intimidating due to their size, they are actually very mellow dogs. Great Pyrenees have a calm nature but will be quick to spring into action if they sense a threat. Today, they are still often used as home guardians to protect from intruders and anything suspicious. As a rather large dog, they can be up to 32 inches high and pounds. They have a thick coat that is most often all white but may have grey, tan, or brown markings on it. Poodle Your Pyredoodle will also inherit some great Poodle traits as well. When you picture a Poodle, you think of a sophisticated and aristocratic animal. While they are most known for their poise, there is a lot more to them than meets the eye. The second smartest dog breed in the world, they are renowned for their high IQ and ability to pick things up quickly. They are very versatile as a companion, athletic, and eager to please. A Poodle will listen to its owner well and likes to be the center of attention. Poodles come in standard, miniature, or toy sizes, ranging from pounds depending on the type. They come in black, white, or apricot colors. Pyredoodle Behavior These dogs look like giant teddy bears and they act like them, too! They are large, loving, and gentle. Many people may be cautious when they first encounter a Pyredoodle, but they are very kind-hearted animals. They love the company of their owners, requiring lots of attention through play, cuddles, and praise. Since they are so patient, they make for a versatile dog. They will work well in a home with only one owner or a whole family. While they do seek attention, they are more independent than you might think and can be prone to wandering. Great Pyrenees love to explore while Poodles are content staying home, so you may have a wanderer on your hands — or you may not! Pyredoodles will be happy to do their own thing in the backyard and enjoy exploring new places. Despite their big size, Pyredoodles are rather timid dogs. They will be shy around strangers and may take a while to warm up to new people. This timidness may be prevalent their whole life. However, they do like the company of other animals. With proper introduction and socialization as a puppy , they can easily belong to a home with other cats and dogs. Pyredoodles: The Household Protector Did somebody ask for a babysitter? Extending from their Great Pyrenees traits as a watchdog, Pyredoodles love to look after small things such as children or any smaller animals. They are very calm dogs and work well as playmates, but they also are always on the lookout. If you are looking for a household guardian, they are a good fit. Most Doodles are very friendly and will walk up to an intruder with a wagging tail. Training Pyredoodles When you first begin training your Pyredoodle, you will notice quickly whether or not they take after their Poodle or Great Pyrenees parent. No matter what, they will be intelligent dogs. However, many will have a stubborn attitude to them that can get in the way of training. The best way to approach training a Pyredoodle is by being consistent. Reward them regularly for doing the same activities so they can piece it together. A schedule helps make sure you dedicate time every day to training. All training sessions should be short, 5 to 10 minutes, and occur 2 to 3 times a day. Because they are so gentle and kind, positive reinforcement and reward training are the best ways to teach your Pyredoodle basic obedience. They will respond well to this training method and it helps create a bond between owner and puppy. Once you have the basic obedience down pat, you may notice that your Pyredoodle enjoys learning new tricks. Due to their playful attitude and smarts, they can learn some pretty fun tricks to show off to friends and family. Related Content. Pyredoodle Highlights Pyredoodles are mixed breed dogs. They are not purebreds like their Great Pyrenees or Poodle parents. The main colors of Pyredoodles are gray, white, apricot, cream, and black. Sometimes their coats are solid, and sometimes they have a mix of colors. Their coat is generally allergy friendly, low shedding, and easy to groom. A good brushing per day to prevent matting, especially in more dense coats, will probably do. Pyredoodles have medium energy levels. Make sure your dog gets at least one good half-hour- to hour-long walk in per day with some interactive play sessions mixed in. The Pyredoodle loves children and will gladly be their playmate, as well as their protector. Pyredoodles typically get along just fine with other animals in the household. Early socialization is key! Use plenty of positive reinforcement and reward-based training. Pyredoodle History The Pyredoodle mixed dog breed may have existed naturally over the years, but designer breeders started intentionally mixing Great Pyrenees and Poodles in the early s, likely in North America. Breeders wanted to mix the Pyrenees with a non-shedding breed, like the Standard Poodle, to create a more allergy-friendly, low-shedding pup for owners suffering from allergies. They continued to create Pyredoodles as demand for the mixed breed grew. Even though the Pyredoodle got its start as a designer breed, some have ended up in shelters or in the care of rescue groups. Consider adoption if you decide this is the dog for you. Check your local shelters, look up Pyredoodle rescues, or check with breed specific Great Pyrenees or Standard Poodle rescues, as they sometimes take in mixed breed dogs and find homes for them. Pyredoodle Size As the Pyredoodle is a relatively new mixed breed, there are few standards when it comes to size. That said, as a mix between Great Pyrenees and Poodle parents, you can expect Pyredoodles to be on the larger side. Most weigh in at 85 to pounds and range in height from 15 to 32 inches at the shoulder. That said, some can be smaller or larger. Their sheer size alone makes them intimidating—even though they are often timid around strangers—which makes them excellent guardians of the household. However, they are by no means aggressive. Use plenty of positive reinforcement and reward-based training to keep your pup engaged and happy during training sessions. It is best to also provide your Pyredoodle with plenty of mentally stimulating toys or games to keep your dog busy and to prevent any destructive behaviors from occurring, especially as puppies! These dogs tend to do best in homes with a fenced in backyard that accommodates their large size. However, they can adapt to living in apartments if given enough exercise during the day. The Pyredoodle does just as well in a house with children as they do in a home with one owner, just as long as the pup can get plenty of attention. They are more independent than they appear and have a strong desire to wander if let off leash! This curious pup will always keep you entertained and makes for the perfect lifelong companion. Pyredoodle Health The Pyredoodle mixed breed is predisposed to some of the same conditions that the Great Pyrenees and Poodle also face. While most are generally healthy, some may be prone to a few health issues, which is why it is important to maintain good care and regular veterinary checkups. Some of the more common health problems Pyredoodles suffer from include : Bloat. Poodles are highly intelligent, non-shedding, and generally healthy. Great Pyrenees also known as the Pyrenean Mountain Dog are huge, majestic dogs. Known for their unconditional love for family, guardian instincts against intruders, and elegant thick white coats, Pyrenees are well-known as livestock protectors as well as wonderful family dogs. Great Pyrenees typically rank as being excellent family dogs; very friendly with their family and great with kids. There are five main reasons many people consider a Pyredoodle a better fit for their family than a Purebred Pyrenees: Hypoallergenic: The Poodles' non-shedding coat is hypo-allergenic. Because the poodle coat is the dominant gene, many poodle crosses often called doodles get the non-shedding coat. This is particularly the case with thick coated dogs like the Great Pyrenees. Families who want an inside dog appreciate a low-to-non shedding coat that the Pyredoodle offers. Trainable: Great Pyrenees are not recommended for novice dog owners. Because of their stubborn streak, Pyrenees can be difficult to train. By contrast Poodles are extremely easy to train. They are the most frequently used dog in circus acts or on shows like America's Got Talent, because they are extremely intelligent, eager to please, and easy to train. Pyredoodles are much easier to house train and teach other basic training commands than a pure Great Pyrenees. Most Pyredoodle owners find their Pyredoodle puppy to be eager to please and pleasant to train. Healthy: The Great Pyrenees lifespan is usually years. On average, doodles live years longer than that. Hybrid vigor the added strength by combining different breeds causes doodles to typically be healthy. Because Poodles are far less likely to develop Gastric Torsion bloat , hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, Addison's disease, or Entropian than Great Pyrenees, the Pyredoodle is much less likely to struggle with these health issues that are common in a purebed Pyrenees. Quieter: The Great Pyrenees are known for their incredible watch dog ability, which means that most of them bark--quite a bit. We intentionally cross the Great Pyrenees with very quiet poodles. Pyredoodles can be bred with a variety of color combinations much greater than that of a purebred AKC Great Pyrenees. Most families who have owned a Great Pyrenees have fallen in love with their devoted, affectionate, family protector. They've learned to live with their drawbacks, but in private conversation they might tell you that if only their beloved pet "didn't bark quite so much, wasn't quite so stubborn, didn't shed all that hair, and lived longer than 11 years they would be the PERFECT dog. With any mixed breed it's impossible to perfectly predict the outcome of the hybrid, but so far Pyredoodles have been met with enthusiastic response. Pyredoodle owners love their devoted, affectionate nature, low-to-non shedding coats, more quiet temperaments, and outstanding intuition. Pyredoodles are perhaps the best of all doodles for being like a "nanny"--entirely devoted to children and small animals. Pyredoodles love to protect small things. They are one of the only doodle breeds that can function as a watch dog. Most doodles are just as likely to lick as intruder as to bark. Pyredoodles tend to be fine with "strangers" who are welcomed by the family, but anyone that is uninvited will be very suspect to a typical Pyredoodle. Since Poodles love to stay close to home, a Pyredoodle is much less likely to wander than a purebred Great Pyrenees. However, we still recommend that all Pyredoodle owners to have a fence. Great Pyrenees can be wanderers. Pyrenees are believed to have descended from huge dogs that wandered the mountains of Asia thousands of years ago. Great Pyrenees History For generations, Pyrenees have been the world's most famous livestock protectors. It is deeply ingrained in the Pyrenees to protect the young, small, and helpless. They're the best friend of children and small animals. Pyrenees were accorded royalty status by becoming the famous guardians of French royalty for generations. The young French prince instantly fell in love with this elegant giant dog that was so loving towards him and protective. The eight year old prince brought the Pyrenees back to live with him at the Louvre. Several aristocratic French families fell in love with the prince's Great Pyrenees and bought their own. A few decades later the Great Pyrenees had transformed from a country guard dog to the official French dog of royalty. Today the breed has been popularized by it's many appearances in movies and TV shows. Because of their devoted, affectionate nature, Great Pyrenees are used as therapy and service dogs. Because of their guardian instincts to care for their own, while protecting against enemies, many Pyrenees are still used as livestock guardians throughout the world today. They are gorgeous, majestic, head-turners. As large as the Newfiedoodle and Saint Berdoodle, Pyredoodles look more majestic, regal and statuesque than most other large dog breeds, which often are described as cuddly, or teddy bear like. Many people who own Pyredoodles talk about the head-turner nature of their dog. You'll be asked by people everywhere about your huge white, thick coated, straight-standing attentive, nanny dog. Because of the independent nature of the Great Pyrenees, we typically do not recommend the Pyredoodle for a first time dog owner. We also like to point out to families that this is the only doodle we breed that has watch dog characteristics. Many families appreciate the watch dog nature of the Pyredoodle who sees itself as a protector of the family, but others desire a gentle giant Newfiedoodle who lumbers around the house and almost never barks--a dog who would roll over on its back when someone knocks on the door. Men and women alike tend to love Pyredoodles. We've found that some doodles i. The Pyredoodle has strong appeal to both men and women. Many men love the thought of a huge majestic guard dog, and women love the Pyredoodles' nanny nature, love for family, and gorgeous white coat. Like any dog, it's important to train the Pyredoodle at an early age, so that your majestic guardian is well trained from its earliest months. Pyredoodles have great appeal to families who were considering a Sheepadoodle. Old English Sheepdogs are originally herding dogs, similar to the livestock protection nature of the Pyredoodle. Pyredoodles tend to be a little larger than Sheepadoodles, calmer than Sheepadoodles, much less nippy as puppies, and much less likely to try to "herd" children. Many families that initially contact Crockett Doodles interested in a Sheepadoodle end up wanting a Pyredoodle instead after further research. Pyreneespoo Description The Pyredoodle is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Great Pyrenees and the Poodle. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. She is excellent with our children and pretty smart too. Although she looks all white, she has some faint light cream markings. She is an excellent companion and the perfect addition to our family. She is a Pyredoodle and everything we could hope for in a dog. She is going to be a big girl. Her mom is a Great Pyrenees, white, of course, and her dad is a Standard Poodle who was apricot in color. Wynter is a perfect mixture of both colors and textures with her hair having a loose wave as opposed to a curl. My favorite part is her white stripe. I brush her every day, because I don't want to risk her becoming matted. I haven't yet noticed any shedding. She will be tall, but I don't think she will be bulky. I'm sure they will be huge. As far as her temperament goes, she seems to be a very happy dog. She likes to be petted and massaged, and she likes to hang out with us. She loves to play and fetch and pounce. She is crated during the day and has only had a few incidents in the crate which are probably not her fault. She loves to play in the yard. We have 2 school-aged children with whom she interacts well. She loves to play chase, and I truly believe she thinks it's her job to keep them in line. When we go on walks , she likes to get to know the people we run into, and I haven't noticed that she has a problem with other dogs. We also have a cat with whom she tries to play, but I don't think the cat's interested. She hasn't done anything with the cat that she probably wouldn't do with other puppies. She just doesn't realize the cat doesn't play like that. I have noticed that she can be a bit stubborn , but once she realizes you aren't going to change your mind, she will obey more consistently. Not totally yet; she's still learning. I watch Cesar Millan regularly, and we are always striving to be the pack leaders. It's harder to get my children to follow the same philosophy. They just want to play, too. I can tell a difference in Wynter's reactions to my husband and me, and the kids. She's more likely to jump on them and nip at them. We try to take her with us in the car to run errands so she's not alone so much and she'll be more accustomed to riding in the car. She is getting better in the car. When we first brought her home, she was pretty frightened. This combination first came about in the early s in Australia, though it is now becoming popular in the United States as well. The reason for this popularity is likely due to the fact that the Pyredoodle combines the best of both breeds: the loyalty and protective instincts of the Great Pyrenees with the intelligence and trainability of the Standard Poodle. In addition, Pyredoodles are low-shedding and hypoallergenic, making them a good choice for people with allergies. This mix results in a dog that is large usually between 60 and pounds , gentle, and loving. If you are looking for a new best friend, the Pyredoodle may be the perfect dog for you. Pyredoodle — Appearance The Great Pyrenees Poodle mix is a large and fluffy dog that is sure to turn heads when out on walks. As with any mixed breed, the appearance of the Pyredoodle can vary depending on which parent breed they take after. However, most Pyredoodles are large dogs with thick, fluffy coats. The coat can be either curly or wavy and is usually white or cream in color. Some Pyredoodles may have patches of color on their faces or bodies, but this is not common. Pyredoodles have long, droopy ears and large, dark eyes. They also have a thick mane of fur around their necks, which gives them a regal appearance. Most Pyredoodles have a thick, fluffy coat that is either curly or wavy. The coat can come in a variety of colors, including white, cream, apricot, red, brown, black, and silver. The most common pattern is a mix of white and another color. Regardless of their coat color or pattern, all Pyredoodles have one thing in common: a thick, luxurious coat. Pyredoodle — Temperament These dogs are known for being gentle, loving, and intelligent. They can be a bit independent, but they are also very loyal and will bond closely with their families. With proper socialization, they will get along well with other dogs and animals. Pyredoodle — Training Needs Pyredoodles are intelligent and loyal dogs that make great family pets. However, they can also be stubborn and require consistent training. Like all dogs, the Pyredoodle needs basic obedience training. This includes commands such as sit, stay, come, and down. It is important to start training early, as Pyredoodles can be difficult to train if allowed to develop bad habits. In addition to obedience training, Pyredoodles also need to be socialized from an early age. This means exposing them to different people, places, and situations so that they learn to cope with new experiences. Without proper socialization, Pyredoodles can become fearful or aggressive. However, with consistent training and socialization, the Pyredoodle can be a loving and loyal companion for years to come. Pyredoodle — Are they Aggressive? Pyredoodles are a popular new designer breed, and for good reason. However, one potential downside to owning a Pyredoodle is that it can be quite aggressive. This is especially true if the dog is not properly trained and socialized from a young age. Pyredoodles need firm, consistent guidance in order to learn how to interact appropriately with other animals and people. Without this training, they may become frustrated or even aggressive. With a little effort, you can help your Pyredoodle learn to channel its aggression into positive energy and become a well-rounded, happy dog. While each individual dog will have different exercise needs based on their energy level and health, in general, the Pyredoodle should get at least 60 minutes of exercise per day. This can include a daily walk or run , playing fetch in the yard, or going for a swim. With regular exercise, the Pyredoodle should remain satisfied and will make an excellent companion for active families. Pyredoodle — Mental Stimulation They need mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy. A simple walk around the block will not be enough to keep them mentally and physically stimulated. Instead, they need an activity that will challenge them both mentally and physically. One option is to enroll them in a dog agility class. This type of class provides both mental and physical stimulation, as well as socialization opportunities. Other options include playing fetch or Frisbee in the park, going for hikes, or even taking swimming lessons. By providing your Pyredoodle with plenty of mental stimulation, you will help them to lead a happy and healthy life. Pyredoodle — How to Groom them? The Pyredoodle is a high-maintenance dog when it comes to grooming. They require regular brushing and professional grooming every six to eight weeks to prevent mats and tangles from forming in their long coat. Pyredoodles also need to have their nails trimmed on a regular basis. In addition, they are susceptible to ear infections, so it is important to check their ears regularly and clean them as needed. Pyredoodle — Are they Healthy? The Pyredoodle is generally a healthy breed. However, like all dogs, they are susceptible to certain health conditions. To help ensure that your dog stays healthy, be sure to take them to the vet for regular check-ups and vaccinations. By staying up to date on their health, you can help your Pyredoodle enjoy a long and happy life. Pyredoodle — Nutrition As any dog owner knows, nutrition is important for maintaining a healthy pet. Dogs need a balanced diet of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and vitamins in order to stay active and strong. While each breed has its own specific nutritional needs, the Great Pyrenees Poodle mix is a large and active breed that requires a little bit more than average. In general, Pyredoodles should be fed twice a day, with meals consisting of high-quality dry food or pasture-raised meats. Pyredoodle — Dog Friendly? The Pyredoodle is a friendly and social breed. They love to be around people and other dogs, and they make great companions. To help your Pyredoodle become a well-rounded dog, expose them to different people, places, and situations on a regular basis. With proper socialization, the Pyredoodle will make an excellent family dog. Pyredoodle — Child Friendly? The Pyredoodle is a great breed for families with children. They are gentle and loving dogs that enjoy being around people. However, because they are also large and active dogs, they need to be properly supervised when around small children. To help ensure that your Pyredoodle is safe around your kids, teach them basic obedience commands and never leave them unsupervised with children. Pyredoodle — Do they Drool? The Pyredoodle is not a particularly drooly breed. However, like all dogs, they do produce some saliva. For example, you can wipe their face after meals and snacks, brush their teeth regularly, and give them chews and toys to help keep their mouth busy. By taking a few simple steps, you can help to keep the drooling of your Poodle Great Pyrenees mix under control. Pyredoodle — Barking Levels These dogs are known for being loyal, intelligent, and affectionate. They are also relatively easy to train and make great family pets. However, one potential downside of owning a Pyredoodle is their barking level. Because they are bred from two vocal dog breeds, Pyredoodles tend to be quite vocal themselves. This means that they may bark more often than other breeds, which can be frustrating for owners who live in close quarters with their neighbors. With proper training and consistent management, however, most Pyredoodles can learn to control their barking and only vocalize when necessary. Pyredoodle — Adaptability to Weather The Pyredoodle inherits the thick, double coat of the Great Pyrenees, making it well-suited for cold weather. The coat is dense and water-resistant, providing protection from both the elements and potential predators. The Poodle parent breed contributes intelligence and trainability to the mix, while also lending its own hypoallergenic coat. This makes the Pyredoodle an ideal choice for people with allergies. If you live in an area with extreme temperatures, it is important to consider this before bringing home a Pyredoodle. With proper care and attention, the Pyredoodle can be a loyal and loving companion for years to come. Pyredoodle — Life Expectancy One of the most appealing things about the Poodle Great Pyrenees mix is their life expectancy. Thanks to their mixed heritage, these dogs can live up to 10 to 12 years , making them a great choice for families looking for a long-term companion. The Great Pyrenees, one of the parent breeds, typically has a lifespan of years, while the Poodle typically lives years. As a result, it is not uncommon for Pyredoodles to reach the age of 10 years or more. Pyredoodles are also relatively healthy dogs, and they tend to be less prone to health problems than purebreds. With proper care and nutrition, your Pyredoodle can be a loyal and loving companion for many years to come. The FSS is a program that records pedigrees and tracks the development of new and emerging breeds. While the Pyredoodle is not currently recognized as a separate breed by the AKC, this may change in the future as the breed continues to develop and gain popularity. For now, however, Pyredoodles are not eligible for AKC competitions or events. Thanks for reading our blog post on pyredoodles, and we hope you enjoy learning about these fascinating dogs as much as we enjoyed writing about them. F1, F1B, and F2 all indicate the generation of Pyredoodle a particular dog is. An F1 Pyredoodle, or first generation, would be the result of pairing a purebred Great Pyrenees with a purebred Poodle. An F2 Pyredoodle, or second generation, typically occurs by breeding two first-generation Pyredoodles together. Do Pyredoodles shed? The result of this mix are puppies whose shedding can range wildly. Some Pyredoodle puppies hardly shed at all, while others shed almost as much as a Great Pyrenees would. Are Pyredoodles hypoallergenic? One of the biggest misconceptions about the Great Pyrenees Poodle mix is that they are hypoallergenic. Pyredoodles are NOT guaranteed to be hypoallergenic. Breeders usually strive for dogs that are lower shedding and allergy-friendly. Breeding generations like the F1B Pyredoodle or the F1BB Pyredoodle do make these puppies a safer bet at not triggering allergy sufferers. How do you groom a Pyredoodle? Pyredoodle grooming depends on the type of coat they inherit. In most cases, your dog will have a wavy or curly coat closer to the Poodle in appearance and function than the Great Pyrenees. Doodle breeds like the Great Pyrenees and Poodle mix are notorious for how easily their hair can become matted. Bathing should occur around once a month unless they get dirty in between. How often your Pyredoodle needs a haircut depends on how long you like their coat and how quickly their hair grows. On average, expect to pay a visit to the grooming salon every months. What is the temperament of a Pyredoodle like? Pyredoodles are reasonably easy to train and eager to please. This makes them great options for first-time dog owners. Many Poodle mix breeds tend to be high-maintenance, but the Pyredoodle tends to be a bit more laid back comparatively. The Great Pyrenees Poodle mix is quite intelligent. While this can help in training, it also means they need appropriate mental stimulation throughout their day. Puzzle games, snuffle balls , and training activities all help keep their mind sharp and out of mischief. In general, Pyredoodles are one of the calmer doodle breeds. Barking is relatively common in Pyredoodles, so apartment living could be challenging. While this can be prevented with training, it does help make this breed an excellent watchdog. Pyredoodles are naturally protective of their family. However, they are rarely aggressive. Is the Great Pyrenees Poodle mix a healthy breed? The best thing you can do to spot these issues as early as possible is to schedule yearly checkups at the veterinarian, whether your dog needs them or not. Many canine health issues can cost several thousands of dollars to treat, so protecting yourself ahead of time by getting a policy with a company such as Healthy Paws or Embrace can be highly beneficial. Click here to get an instant, online pet insurance quote from Healthy Paws! What is the average lifespan of a Pyredoodle? Pyredoodles will live for an average of years. Due to the speed of their physiological processes, mini Pyredoodles tend to be on the higher end of this range, while standard Pyredoodles tend to be on the lower end. Of course, healthy eating and exercise habits can contribute to a longer and happier life for your pet! What colors does the Great Pyrenees Poodle mix come in? The two most common Pyredoodle colors are cream and white. These two colors account for a large majority of this breed. However, there is the potential for other colors, such as apricot, gray, and black. Pyredoodles can either be solid-colored or have a combination of two or more colors. Parti Pyredoodles are two or more colors where the predominant color is white or a lighter shade. Abstract Pyredoodles are two or more colors, with the darker shade predominant. How much exercise does a Great Pyrenees Poodle mix need? Adult Pyredoodles will thrive with about minutes of daily exercise. This can come in the form of walking, running, fetching, swimming, or other activity. Generally, standard Pyredoodles will need a bit more exercise than mini Pyredoodles. Remember that mental activity is just as important as physical activity for this breed. Introducing new games and challenges into playtime can be a great way to do this, as well as letting them get plenty of sniffing time during their walks. How much does it cost to adopt a Pyredoodles puppy? Pyredoodles are a designer breed that often come with designer prices. Additionally, Pyredoodles are rare in comparison to many Poodle crossbreeds. While you can look into adopting a Pyredoodle from a rescue or shelter , it will be incredibly tough to locate one since they are a rare mix. More from Popular Doodle

Today, there are many Labradoodle breeders in Texas and finding the right pup for you is certainly easier than it was in the last decade. On the other hand, any breeder can advertise that they have Labradoodles for sale in Texas. See Also: Click the image So, what are the key factors you should keep in mind when choosing a Labradoodle breeder in Texas? For this purpose, all parent pups have undergone thorough health and genetic testing that helps minimize the risk of puppies inheriting any genetic illnesses that can affect their quality of life or even lifespan. That being said, reputable breeders also provide at least a two-year health guarantee that covers any serious genetic conditions that the parent pups have been tested for. In fact, some breeders even offer a three-year health guarantee. Many reputable Labradoodle breeders in Texas are also recommended by Good Dog. Why is that important? Most notably, breeders have to follow strict health testing protocols and ethical breeding practices to obtain certifications by any of these organizations we mentioned above. Many breeders have posted testimonials on their websites, but we also recommend you search for reviews on Google, Facebook, Yelp, Reddit, here at Doodle Doods , or even on your local online forums. All of their puppies are born and raised in a loving home environment, and all of their breeding dogs are beloved family pets either with the breeder or in carefully chosen guardian homes. Lantana Labradoodles focuses on breeding companion dogs through love, dedication, and enrichment. By the way, the ENS training is an excellent way for the puppies to get used to regular human interactions and body handling from such a young age! Additionally, Lantana Labradoodles gets their Doods started on potty training and crate training, and basic manners and obedience training. They take them for car rides, introduce them to grooming, and even collar and leash training. They also conduct temperament testing on each of their puppies at 7 weeks of age. Bobbie is a certified BAB Puppy Evaluator and we temperament test our litters to help families find just the right puppy. We're also proud to have been accepted, with an Excellent rating, into the Good Breeder Program at gooddog. We learned about labradoodles several years ago. We were looking to add a dog to our family that had a great temperament and didn't shed much. We had previously owned a labrador that we loved to death, but we wanted to avoid fur covering every inch of our floor again. Our first labradoodle, Cooper, was so much more than we dared hope for and the reason we decided to go into breeding. He has a lab temperament. He's calm, sweet, devoted, patient, loving and loyal. And he doesn't shed at all. We were so in love with him, that we decided one labradoodle in our home was simply not enough. Why Australian Labradoodles? Because they are, in our view, the perfect dog. They are so sweet, love their humans so much, are so devoted and wonderful with children, and they are so smart. They are known for their beauty and looks, but the Australian Labradoodle's gorgeous coat is just the icing on a very delicious cake! We hope you take a few minutes to look around our site and get to know us and our dogs. We'd love to hear from you if you have any questions! Contact Us. Contact us today for more information about our family-raised, hypo-allergenic, highly trainable Labradoodles. We started our breeding program with the best bloodlines to ensure we would be producing the most beautiful, intelligent, trainable and lovable dogs possible. We are grateful for the guidance we had when we started and we continue to improve the way we do things through training and education for more than 18 years. It is our dedication to excellence in the way we raise our precious dogs and train them that sets Texas Labradoodles apart. Most of the breeders were breeding true Australian Labradoodles. Since that time we have watched our amazing and magical breed of dogs become a world wide phenomenon with Labradoodles taking over everywhere. From being in the movies to being the number one choice for commercials, print ads and funniest video stars, Labradoo dles are everywhere. With this profound movement of the love of all things Labra doodle, the purity and purpose of what Labradoodles were originally bred for has become convoluted with many types of doodles. The Labradoodle breed itself is be coming a confusing mixture of levels of breeds, types of infusions into the blood lines, etc. Australian Labradoodles are produced when multiple generations of the original Australian bloodlines, Rutland Manor and Teagan Park are bred together. These two kennels began breeding these dogs to create a hypo-allergenic, low to non-shedding dog. These dogs are bred to be highly trainable dog for the purpose of being taught to be guide dogs or therapy dogs for people with allergies. It took these two kennels a lot of work, testing and breeding to get the breed to where it is today. It was not as simple as breeding a Lab to a Poodle, both great dogs, of course, but not a true Australian Labradoodle The importance of adopting a multi-generational Australian Labradoodle If you want a hypo-allergenic, highly trainable dog for your new family member or a dog for therapy work, you want to get a multi-generational Australian Labradoodle. Working with a reputable breeder that has many years of experience and a true love of the breed is important. Make sure the genetic testing and puppy care are done to ensure they are breeding the best and most healthy dogs possible. Dogs that are registered with the ALAA as multi-generational Australian Labradoodles are the most consistent breeding of Labradoodles that you can get. These dogs are going to have a consistent temperament and trainability level. This consistency and care to our breeding program helps our families to know exactly what to expect from their new family member. Clearing our dogs for potential diseases not only ensures that our dogs do not have these issues prior to breeding, it also ensures that we will never produce puppies that could have these diseases. The hip and elbow testing does not guarantee that puppies will never have hip dysplasia, but it is the best method that we have to prevent producing puppies with genetic hip issues. Hip problems are often caused be environmental factors, but culling puppies for breeding purposes helps to reduce the risk of breeding bad confirmation. Temperament, coat and trainability for different types of disciplines are key in our breeding program. Creating perfect family members, guide dogs, therapy dogs and best friends begins with breeding the perfect parents. Years of care and experience have made us experts at accomplishing high standards set by the ALAA and our own personal goals for our dogs. We know that a Texas Labradoodles bred dog is the finest of our wonderful breed and we are so proud to have produced such wonderful companions and working dogs. Please see our references page for more stories and letters from our families. November, .I cannot say enough good things about Mardee and Texas Labradoodles! From the beginning Mardee was very caring and knowledgable on all things Australian Labradoodle. It is clear she and her family love their dogs and take excellent care of them from the very start. She takes the time to match each puppy to their forever home and I scored the jackpot with my Maggie! I could not be happier with her sweet demeanor and easy going temperament. She is super smart, easy to train and equally as adorable. Even after bringing our puppy home Mardee has been a great resource and we are still in touch. I am so thankful to have found Mardee and Texas Labradoodles! Mike Tadlock .October, .Texas Labradoodles and Mardee were Amazing. She helped guide us through the selection process and we could not have gotten a better fur baby than Sadie. If you could meet Sadie and see her with us you would understand. We are obnoxiously crazy about this girl! We know others who have used Texas Labradoodles and they all feel the same. She has brought so much joy and happiness to our home. Paul Chapman 4. We recently welcomed the most perfect medium Australian Labradoodle into the family. I could go on and on about how wonderful this dog is and if you email me I will. That said, I have been equally impressed by our experience with this breeder. First and foremost, Mardee loves her dogs and this breed and that loves comes through in every single interaction and detail. They are true to breed standard. Go through all the appropriate genetic and health screens and, most importantly, are bred and raised in a loving home with plenty of outdoor country air. These dogs are not inexpensive but they are well-priced, given all the time and expense put into raising quality animals in the very most humane and caring of environments. If you want to know what to look for in a breeder - TX Labradoodle is the standard. Chris Monroe .August, .Highly knowledgeable, caring and experienced. Mardee and Bruce patiently answered all of my questions about Australian Labradoodle's and she matched us with the perfect addition for our family. Mardee provided a thorough background and documentation of care, and a detailed checklist for us to take home. June is 14 weeks old now and is everything we imagined and more. June, .TX Labradoodles are truly amazing, full of heart, and extremely knowledgeable! Mardee and her family have become our family! We have the 3 most gorgeous fur babies ever who bring immense joy and love to my life! We consider ourselves beyond fortunate to have crossed paths with Mardee, Bruce, and James! We are forever grateful! We love you tremendously!!! Thank you for making the world a better place with the most extraordinary fur babies!!! Brittany Meuth .April, .My husband and I recently adopted our first puppy from Texas Labradoodles and we could not be happier with our experience! Mardee has remained a resource to us even since bringing Murphy home and could not have created a better experience for us. She is amazing at what she does and truly loves providing families with amazing pets! Steven Roberts .We got 2 girls from Mardee two months ago. The experience could not have gone better. Loving environment, plenty of outdoor room, clean as a whistle and the pups are all we could hope for. No puppy mill atmosphere here. Solid solid folks and superior dogs. And another plus: Wimberley Texas is awesome. Karen Hernandez .I have truly been blessed by the forming relationship with Mardee and MOE. I did not realize how much joy at my age she allows me to experience. She is not my only dog that I share my life with, but she is definitely an exception that I must say is out of the ordinary. Mardee is very responsive and knowledgeable and her understanding of the breed. I can tell she only wants to breed the best genetics and protect the breed from becoming a backyard hobby only to make money. It is nice to see and know how much she strives to improve the breed. I think anyone looking to start or expand their canine family would be truly blessed. Google rating score: 4. Our Labradoodles are multi-generational and are superior to F1 and F1b because their traits are established and dependable. Early generations of Labradoodles do not offer the consistency that multi-generational do. Our puppies have been proven for non-shedding hypoallergenic coats and temperament. Not all Labradoodles are created equal. Australian Labradoodles are a great choice for those seeking non-shedding and allergy-friendly dogs. Multi-gen Australian Labradoodles have been carefully bred over time and are consistent for coat, temperament, and conformation. Strenuous genetic testing has been done to ensure to give you the best pet possible. Australian Labradoodles are extremely loyal to their families and are known to have a sweet and gentle temperament. They are sensitive dogs with intuitive intelligence making them easy to train. These traits make them superior therapy and service dogs. What are the coats like on Australian Labradoodles? The small size of our program allows our Labradoodles and Sheepadoodles to be a part of our everyday home life and not be kept in kennels. It also provides an opportunity for puppies to socialize, be nurtured, and be loved. Our puppies are socialized with people, children, and other pets. Our diligent work with young puppies contributes to an easy transition into their forever homes. At Texas Australian Labradoodles, we keep the Labradoodle and Sheepadoodle puppy adoption experience as pleasant and comfortable for you as possible. When you adopt our puppy, you become a member of our program and a part of our Labradoodle and Sheepadoodle forever family. We want to share your joy. We love pictures! We place great importance on your satisfaction with your new Labradoodle and Sheepadoodle puppy. Guided by our experience, careful assessment of each puppy, and objective aptitude evaluations we can select the best puppy for your specific needs and lifestyle. At Texas Australian Multigenerational Labradoodles, we produce 4th generation Australian Labradoodles or later generations we do not have any of the early generation Labradoodles as their temperament, coat, and comfortation can be very unpredictable. Our Doodles are selectively bred for many generations to produce allergy-friendly, intelligent, easy to train puppies with gentle temperaments and exceptional beauty. Their coat is non-shedding and odor-free and works well with allergy sufferers. Our labradoodles are loved and well-socialized, which makes them perfect dogs for families with young children and homes that have other pets. Our Doodles are also perfect candidates for service, therapy, and companion dogs due to their intelligence as well as gentle and affectionate disposition. Our Australian Sheepadoodles are carefully bred by pairing our fabulous Old English Sheepdogs and extraordinary Multigenerational Australian Labradoodles. We are the only breeders that have paired these incredible breeds to create astonishing puppies who consistently deliver allergy-friendly silky coats, calm temperaments, and overall great confirmation. Our Doodles are loved and well-socialized which makes them perfect dogs for families with young children, first time pet owners, and families with other pets. However, our small size ensures that we are able to pay close attention to each of our Doodle puppies to ensure that they get the stimulation and the attention to reach their developmental milestones. Simply put, there are no puppies left behind at Texas Australian Labradoodles and Australian Sheepadoodles. The public is slowly recognizing the value of smaller programs that do not mill their puppies and a handful of Australian Labradoodle Breeders in the US are following our footsteps and cutting the number of adult doodles in their program so that they do not have to be housed in kennels. Although all puppies are beautiful and can enrich the life of any family through their unique personality, we love the Australian Labradoodle and Australian Sheepadoodle puppies! We want to help and give your family a lifetime of sweet memories to warm your heart. She is the sweetest, most amazing dog we could have ever wished for and we are completely in LOVE! We are such proud parents! She likes to play but seems to really enjoy her naps. We are so happy how everything worked out and we were blessed with our little sweetie Lola. Will keep in touch with more pics to follow! We may want to even add a sibling to our family! He plays well with other dogs and children, is energetic enough to play fetch and will curl up with us on the couch and take a nap when it is movie time. It was a pleasure working with you guys through the process. From the initial meeting to the weekly picture updates to picking out and taking home our puppy. She is a people magnet. Everyone wants to see her and pet her because she is so gorgeous! And fluffy! We lover her curly coat! She is extremely smart…when she wants something and is definitely still in the hyper puppy stage! Her forbidden love is socks and she will do just about anything for a piece of cheese. The most important thing is that we love her so much. She brings so much joy to our family! We can love all over her…pet her…kiss her…and she wags her tail and licks us. She is a good girl! Still a hyper puppy that tries to get into everything, but a really good girl! My dog Pepper is a wonderful addition to my family! Beautiful dogs! They are beautiful and healthy. Our first one is almost 5 years old and we have a 2 month old. Lindy breeds them in a very clean home. She is extremely loving to these newborns and is open to all of our questions. She even follows up to see how they are doing. I would not buy from anyone else. Our 2 labradoodles get plenty of compliments. We have added 2 beautiful members to our family. I waited almost a year for mine and he has been life changing. They are truly amazing, healthy, loyal, and smart dogs! I have trained him and he is now a service dog and has been the greatest companion to me as well. Lindy always responded and kept me in the loop during the entire process. Before I met her I had a nightmare situation with a breeder that was a scam so was very skeptical but she made me feel at ease about everything. Thank you for everything Lindy! Nathan Kirton I ended up finding a puppy from someone else that fit my timeline better. The communication I had with her Lindy was amazing. She was super helpful, and gave me so much information about what I could expect. Thanks for being super helpful Lindy! We waited over a year and it was so worth it! Lindy was instrumental in our family getting the dog of our dreams. She was extremely helpful in asking and answering questions to ensure we got a right match for our family. She took into consideration all of my preferential factors such as the gender, coat color, personality, etc. The cherry on top was upon pick up at 8 weeks Teddy was healthy, socialized, potty trained, and vaccinated. Lindy pours love onto these dogs and puppies and treats her clients with tremendous respect. The puppies are happy and safely kept in an immaculate environment until sent home and I love that each family is celebrated with a photo to commemorate the occasion. Definitely worth the WAIT! Chuck Hahn Best dog ever!!! Worth the wait. He came home perfect! Testimonials Happy Faces Your happiness is our happiness, your success, our success. We take great pride in each and every home we complete with our dogs. We did tons of research. We wanted a dog that did not shed, was hypoallergenic, and had a good temperament. Those dogs are hard to find! We finally came across a very special Australian Labradoodle. We found our Rosie through my best friend who knew the owner of Australian Labradoodles of Texas. Her temperment is what we were really drawn to. She is so calm, obedient, and really wants to please you. She rings a bell when she needs to go outside and walks right next to you on her leash! We feel so lucky that we get to call her ours! To say that Miles has changed our lives for the better would be an extreme understatement! From the moment we set our eyes on him in your videos, we knew he was special, and he has shown us that a million times over. He is a sweet and affectionate dog who loves his family fiercely, acting protective when he needs to, yet demonstrates such a docile and gentle temperament to other people, especially small children who love to pet and squeeze his fluffiness. I had no intention of adding another dog to the mix! After several weeks, I finally pulled the trigger and we brought him home! Charley Brown was the perfect addition to our family and I would recommend these pups to anyone looking for a good family dog. All of our puppies come with Socialization.

Loving companions, with the outgoing, friendly personalities Silver Labrador Puppies for Sale NC Silver labs were first created by a breeder in the early 80s and were officially recognized as a subset of the chocolate lab breed by the AKC in .While some think the unusual color comes from outside the breed, these dogs are verified by the AKC as percent Labrador retriever. Male labs grow to an average of .Our silver labrador puppies are bred as loving companions, with the outgoing, friendly personalities that have long made labs one of the most popular family dogs. These rare purebred, pedigreed pups are registered with the American Kennel Club. The Silver Labradors are registered as chocolates. Like other lab variations, silver labradors need lots of exercise. Get ready to play endless games of catch and take long walks around your neighborhood, where your pet is sure to make friends with other dogs and humans alike. These dogs respond well to training and easily adapt to new environments. They also tend to be great with children, although younger labs can be quite boisterous and may be excitable around those younger than 5. Our Other Labrador Retriever Colors Silver, chocolate, yellow, and black Labradors available for sale Black Labrador Puppies Black labs are sometimes considered the original Labrador puppies, brought to Newfoundland in the s. Because black is the dominant color gene for these dogs, they are more common than yellow, silver and chocolate labs. We offer an impressive selection of purebred chocolate labrador puppies for sale. This chocolate color comes from a gene variation on the classic black lab. Their golden hue occurs when both parents carry the gene for yellow fur rather than the dominant gene for black. Our love for dogs have been growing for over 30 years, with never having just one. Labrador Litters. Both parents have to have a matching gene to produce any color. The gene that produces the dilute colors dd is the gene that is the cause of much controversy. The Labrador Retriever Club does not like or recognize any dilute color however the AKC does recognize the dilutes in their base colors. The Labrador Retriever Clubs most recent complaint is Buyer Beware dilute breeders are charging exorbitant prices for a cross bred, designer dog. Exorbitant prices? Have you seen what members of the Labrador Retriever Club charge for their dogs? Here is a simple fact, at some point in time between and the dilute gene was introduced into the Labrador gene pool. Before or possibly after the Labrador Stud Book was closed this gene was introduced. This gene has been working in the Labrador for 60 or possibly as long as years. Before the Stud books were closed several dogs were used including some with the dilute gene to add desired traits to the Labrador Breed. Point is their has not been any recent crossings by reputable breeders for sure so we are talking 20 generations or more of pure breeding of Labradors so if it looks like a Labrador, swims like a Labrador and acts like a Labrador.

german shepherd puppies harrison ny - Town and country cut Short cut You will also have to bear in mind that some of these cuts will be much shorter. If you live in a cold climate or a hot climate, ensure you have the right protection for your dog. Our article on dressing dogs for winter shows you how to do this in an appropriate way. Lion cut The lion cut is probably the best known and most extravagant of all the poodle haircuts. The dog's limbs are hairless, with only a pompom around the front and back paws. The tail should be rounded off and the chest, stomach and head should be left with hair. It is the most widely used haircut in competitions and dog shows where is is also known as the Continental cut. The lion cut's elaborate style makes it impressive, but also takes a lot of time and effort not to mention experience to get right. There are other cuts on dogs called the lion cut, such as one for the Shih Tzu , but they will look different according to the specific breed. Image: National Geographic 2. English saddle cut The English cut is very similar to the lion cut. The difference lies in an additional pompom on the hind legs, and the pelvic area being left at the same length as the chest. It still shares the long ears and tightly wound curls on the body. Both are considered some of the most popular Poodle haircuts among groomers. Image: poodleforum 3. Dutch cut The Dutch cut is one of the most popular in dog contests and expositions. Unlike previous styles, this one is for those who are looking for a uniform style with no differences in length of the dog's coat. It's notable above all for the tail ending in a cute pompom. Image: poodleforum 4. Modern cut The modern cut for poodles is probably the most suitable for owners who love following recent trends and enjoy watching canine beauty competitions. This is also known as the Scandinavian cut or European cut in some sectors, especially in the United States of America. It seeks to achieve a careful and professional finish, without being as exaggerated as the aforementioned styles. It is an aesthetic cut, yet at the same time it is very natural. It follows the shape of the body, emphasizing the ears and tail as much as the head. This is a very trendy cut for Miniature Poodles, and it isn't difficult to work out why. This haircut really makes your poodle look like a puppy. This style doesn't aim to achieve a defined or sharp-looking finish. On the contrary, the fur should look natural and fresh. The American Kennel Club claims there should be a pompom on the end of the tail. It is another of the most popular Poodle haircuts. Image: temporary-secretary 6. Summer cut Many dog owners wonder if it's bad to give their dogs a haircut during the summer. Not all dogs should follow the example of the Poodle, which is a breed that adapts perfectly to different haircuts and styles. Summer is a hot period that makes your beloved poodle get dirtier than usual - especially if you take it to the beach or go for a walk in the woods. Therefore, giving it a summer cut is a good idea: You will help to keep it cool while achieving some interesting aesthetic finishes, as shown below. Winter Poodle cuts tend to leave more hair on the dog to help insulate them from the cold. Image: poodleforum. Cupcake cut This haircut is not very well known, possibly because some people think it provides a strange look once it is done. The cupcake cut is notable for leaving the ears absolutely rounded as a result of being thoroughly styled. Not all styles will involve Poodle face cuts to be so dramatic, but we think it is quite stylish. This Poodle cut is also notable for the shape of its head - which ends in a point - which bears a clear resemblance to a delicious muffin. Image: huxtablethepoodle. Teddy bear cut The teddy bear cut is increasingly popular among long-haired dog breeds. This finish must be done with scissors, and it requires hands with experience in styling poodles. The hair should be left mid-length so that the poodle's curls can be seen clearly. This gives a sweet and rounded finish which makes it look like a bear, as the name suggests. Make sure you know how often to bathe a poodle in order for their fur to look gorgeous at all times. Image: yiral 9. This style can work for any type of Poodle, but is particularly common with Standard or Miniature Poodles. Its defining feature is that it leaves the legs hairy and cylinder-shaped. The body hair, on the other hand, is cut shorter, which accentuates the density of the leg hairs. The head and ears have a rounded finish. Image: najupets .Short cut While it's not very common to see a short-haired poodle, it remains an aesthetic option that will avoid knots, tangles and dirt building up in its coat. This Poodle cut may be a good option in warmer countries. It is also a good option for those who can't go to the dog stylist as often as they would like to. This style can work just as well on a Toy Poodle as it will a Standard Poodle. However, you will need to bear in mind that it may cause the dog to become cold. Either avoid this cut in cold climates or winter months. If you still prefer a shorter cut, ensure you have a doggie jacket for them to stay protected. Image: notastandardpoodle-gregg. The problem is there is no standardized style guide for cutting a Poodle's hair. In different countries, regions and even individual dog groomers , there is debate over the correct name for some of the terms. This can understandably cause confusion for groomers. Clients may come in with a specific idea of how they want their Poodle cut, but are unable to explain the style to the groomer. The best thing for you to do is to decide on what you want before hand and locate a picture of the Poodle cut you want. You can even take this article with you and decide which type of haircut will best work for your dog. Relying on the name of a certain Poodle cut may cause confusion or frustration, so it is best to be on the safe side. Send us a photo of your dog! When Yvonne's not working, you can find her lounging with her charming Chihuahuas, weightlifting, or wandering around Halloween stores. Having such unique and versatile fur means there are countless poodle haircuts for you to choose from, and a professional groomer can give your poodle a makeover with a hairstyle that best matches her personality and lifestyle. With so many options available, learn how your poodle can look like anything from a plush toy to elegant royalty! Teddy Bear Cut The teddy bear cut is a popular trim for poodles and other long-haired breeds. With this look, your poodle has longer hair on her face for a soft, rounded "teddy bear" appearance, and the rest of the fur on her body is cut at a shorter, uniform length throughout. Talk about cuddly cuteness! Summer Cut Because poodles have a single coat, they can enjoy the luxury that comes with it: the summer cut. Known as one of the most low-maintenance poodle haircuts, the summer cut is a practical haircut option that keeps your poodle's fur short so she stays comfortable in hot weather. So if you're looking to cut your hair to beat the heat in the summer, you and your poodle can rock shorter hairdos together! Puppy Cut No matter your poodle's age, you can seemingly turn back time with the puppy cut. Also a popular choice among poodle parents, the puppy cut is a simple, natural-looking trim that leaves your dog with an evenly cut length, typically 1 to 2 inches, all over. This is a highly modifiable look, so consult your groomer for a length that best fits your and your dog's preference and lifestyle. Continental Cut The continental cut is a glamorous and traditional hairstyle often worn by poodle show dogs. With this look, your poodle's face, throat, feet, and part of the tail are shaved. This look is characterized by full hair on the rib cage and chest, pom poms of fur on the tail, ankles, and hips, as well as a banded topknot on the head. German Trim Looking for a haircut that looks fancy but not too fancy? The German trim uses the power of angles to give your poodle a sharp profile. The hair on your furry friend's legs is left long, while the hair on the body and ears is cut short. This is a great option not only if your poodle is more active but also if your pup is prone to ear infections or ear matting. Modern Cut The modern cut is an elegant hairstyle that combines aesthetics with your poodle's natural features. This cut keeps the hair on the body short, accentuating your poodle's shape. The fur on the head, ears, and tail is left longer to create a fluffy appearance. When your dog has such curly, coarse locks, you may wonder how many trips to the groomer you and your poodle may be making. Poodles and poodle-crosses also go through a coat change in the first year of life, so they need to be groomed more often," says Danna Alexander, owner of Prestige Dog Grooming School. To keep mats and tangles at bay, it's best to brush your poodle at least two to three times a week. Toy poodle haircuts aren't off limits for miniature and standard poodles, just as standard poodle haircuts aren't off limits for miniature and toy poodles. While any poodle can sport any style, there may be common options you'd like to choose from. Because there are various names for different types of poodle haircuts, make sure to bring your groomer a photo of the haircut you'd love your pooch to have. Was this page helpful?
