Our dogs are true to their breed standard - in both conformation and in temperament often called "English" labs. Our versatile puppies are suitable as both family members and hunting companions, and we spend many weekends traveling around the country to AKC shows competing in conformation, rally, and obedience. We are a family made up of 4 adult daughters, plus mom and dad - we each have a Russford Lab or two or three in our homes, so that they can live like the spoiled pets they deserve to be. While puppies are raised at the family home in Bath, some of our adult dogs live with our daughters in different areas of New York State. We keep a small number of breeding dogs, usually between 2 and 4 adults, and we occasionally have puppies available to select homes. Our dogs have DNA, hips, elbows, hearts, and eyes tested at a minimum to prevent genetic diseases. Our puppies are raised in our home utilizing the Puppy Culture Program for rearing and socializing, and they are placed into loving pet homes on AKC limited registration. We typically have homes waiting for our puppies before they are born; if you are interested in our plans for future litters, please watch our Facebook and Instagram pages and contact us for more information when a litter is coming up. Thank you for visiting our site. During this time, they have learned that good breeding is not seldom. This is why they conduct DNA genetic testing on the mating Labs, research pedigrees, and perform x-rays. At other times, they fly in semen from other states to guarantee the best quality future Labs. They have produced family dogs, show dogs, hunting dogs, and service dogs. If you want to reserve a puppy from Humehill, they will send you a questionnaire and a deposit contract. The puppies leave the facility after they are eight weeks old. Prior to this, the puppies are taken to the vet for a checkup, dewormed, microchipped, and receive their first vaccine. They consider themselves knowledgeable breeders because they have degrees in Animal Science and Agricultural Engineering. They focus on producing and raising genetically quality dogs, a reason why the parents undergo Embark tests. In addition, they raise the puppies in an acre home with fenced-in yards instead of kennels. The dogs also have a large pond to swim or play in. All Hidden Pond puppies have veterinarian health certification, a one-year written health guarantee, have their first shots, and are microchipped. They also give a lifetime placement warranty and offer stud service. They aim to breed championship Labs that can go to the show program. The pups that do not qualify for show programs are trained for companionship, hunting, therapy, or response dogs. The breeder is dedicated to guaranteeing that future Labs have the best genetics to live a long, happy life. They also receive year-long preventative health care. Stoneleigh Labrador puppies are hand-raised with abundant affection then socialized before they leave the facility. Even though the breeder does not always have available puppies all year round, they will be happy to have you on a waiting list. Legacy puppies receive the same socialization programs as service and guide dogs. They are paper trained, crate trained, taken for car rides, and receive daily playtime. They are also microchipped and AKC registered. Unlike other Labrador breeders, Legacy accepts applications only when there is a litter available. This means you must be on the lookout since they do not keep a waiting list for potential buyers. Occasionally, they have older dogs available after they have finished their show careers. These dogs are suitable for children of all ages because they are socialized at a young age. All pups receive their first shots and worming before they leave. To purchase one, contact the breeder via email or the website. She has a passion for Labradors and loves their sweet temperament. Our veterinary partner estimates that Kona is 8 months old at the time of intake in September .Kona is good with people and other dogs. We took Kona in from rural Georgia where he was suffering with an old break to a leg which Kona suffered when he was deliberately run over. We immediately brought Kona to our veterinary partner for treatment of his broken leg. Kona is a very sweet boy who is great with other dogs. We can't change what Kona's life was like before we rescued him, but we can certainly change the rest of his life. And that change will bring him a happy, loving home where he will be cherished as a member of his forever family. If you would like Kona to spend the rest of his life as a member of your family, please apply online to adopt Kona GA at www. All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Considering Kona GA for adoption?

The American Bulldog is a descendant of a generic bulldog type of dog breed brought into the region that is now the Southern United States by working-class immigrants many years ago. These were all-around working dogs used by small farmers and ranchers for several tasks around the farm. They were often found working as catch dogs, stock dogs, and overall farm guardians. When feral pigs were introduced to the New World, they had no natural predators and the population quickly grew out of control. In addition to their farm duties, the settlers found the bulldog-type dog to be the best solution they had for dealing with it. So, the bulldog continued to thrive, especially in the South. Johnson and Alan Scott that we have what we know today as the American Bulldog. Modern American Bulldogs can still be found working as all-around utility dogs, farm dogs, catch dogs, cattle drovers, and more. They can also be found competing in dog sports, working as a guardian, police, or military dog, and are also popular as a family pet. This dog breed is a sweetheart with a gentle, fun-loving nature. The American Bulldog is affectionate and adores their families. They also love children and tend to be good with other animals. American Bulldogs can have a high prey drive, so you will want to make sure you introduce and socialize them properly with other small animals in the household. Due to their protective nature, they can be aloof towards strangers and strange dogs, especially when they are younger. Early socialization can help them be more comfortable navigating their guardian instincts. Overall, this dog breed tends to be confident, social, and are most at ease and relaxed when they are with the people they love. American Bulldogs are an emotional dog breed and thrives on human attention and affection, so they tend to bond strongly with their owners and may come across as clingy sometimes. They will also often convince themselves that they are lap dogs regardless of their size, so make sure you are ready for a lot of love and cuddles with your American Bulldog, drool and all! The American Bulldog is a moderately adaptable dog breed. They are strong, high-energy working dogs that love being around their favorite humans. This makes them better suited to larger homes with space for them to run. They are not generally a good fit for apartment living, but they can adapt as long as they get more than enough exercise and attention. Because they do tend to bond strongly with their owners and want to be near them, they do not tend to do well with long periods of time alone. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to extreme heat or cold, but can adapt to well to most climates. There are some health issues that can be found in specific genetic lines and are not common to the breed overall, but these can be ruled out with genetic tests. Some potential health conditions to be aware of in general with the American Bulldog include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, thyroid disorders, kidney disorders, bone cancer, and eye-related issues like ectropion, entropion, and cherry eye. Talking to the breeder about the genetic history of the parents and asking to see any health clearances can help allay potential concerns. American Bulldogs are highly trainable and eager to please, so they are a good fit for owners of any experience level, including first-time dog owners. They can have a stubborn streak, so a first-time dog owner may want to consider enrolling in puppy training classes. As with any dog breed, early and ongoing training and socialization are important for your American Bulldog puppy to grow into a well-rounded, and a well-behaved, dog. This dog breed has a short coat that is generally smooth. Common coat colors are white and predominately white with patches of brindle, black, or red. More coat color patterns are emerging and becoming more common like all shades of brindle, fawn, brown, red, and more. The American Bulldog is relatively low maintenance and easy to groom and they are light to moderate shedders. They only require a bath as needed. But, you will need to be prepared to deal with some extra drool! Floppy ears tend to trap moisture and dirt, which can lead to ear infections. The ideal dental care for dogs is using an enzyme toothpaste or brushing their teeth every day. Dental hygiene chews or treats, a specially-formulated dental care diet, and more can be used to supplement your dental care efforts. The American Bulldog is an athletic and high-energy dog breed. They love daily walks and plenty of playtime outside. They may even enjoy plenty of other activities with you like swimming, hiking , and more. With their working dog background, this dog breed does need a job to do in order to stay happy and healthy. They also tend to be a good candidate for dog sports like obedience, weight pulling, the Iron Dog competition, and more. A fully-grown American Bulldog usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between pounds. An American Bulldog generally lives for years. Chance, one of the canine stars from the Homeward Bound films, was an American Bulldog. Featured American Bulldog Article. A good dog breeder is registered in a breeders association and breeds according to the rules and guidelines of the respective breed association. In addition to participating in beauty and performance shows at dog shows, this also includes health checks on their breeding dogs. These papers show which ancestors were involved in the development of the puppy and whether inbreeding was carried out. What makes a serious dog breed? A reputable breeder is dedicated to their breed and usually only breeds this one breed. The prices that dog breeders charge for their puppies mostly flow back into dog breeding. A profit is hardly achieved with good and species-appropriate husbandry. How do I recognize a reputable breeder? First, make sure that the dog breed leaves a clean and well-groomed impression. The following points can also help you buy puppies from a reputable dog breeder: Do all animals look lively and healthy? Do the puppies grow up in the family instead of having to live in a kennel outside? Are the parent animals on-site? Are you allowed to visit the puppies several times? Is the breeder interested in your living conditions? Would they like to know as precisely as possible where their puppies will live? Does the dog breeder take special measures to give their puppies a good start in life? For example, do the puppies get to know car journeys and train journeys? Are they used to other pets and children? Does the breeder grant themself a right of repurchase in the event that the buyer wants to give their dog back? These points are indicators of a reputable breeder. In addition, you should make sure that the puppies are not over-vaccinated and dewormed before buying. Worming treatments in particular can cause permanent damage in puppies that cannot be justified by a potential benefit. If the dog breeder is critical of your questions, that is also a good sign. American Bulldog Breed Overview The American Bulldog is a fairly large breed with a height of inches for boys, inches for girls. Weight ranges from pounds in males, pounds in females. These dogs are strong, but proportionally built, and the breed has a rather formidable appearance. The exterior is a bit rough — American Bulldogs embody strength and power. Boys are larger and more massive, girls are slightly smaller, but without a hint of weakness or thin bones. The muzzle is elongated, wedge-shaped, the feet are not so clearly expressed. Cope with the role of hunters or detection dogs. Classic Johnson — massive and squat dogs similar to English bulldogs. The muzzle is square with a sharp stop. Often they have deep folds in the neck and head. These bulldogs are ideal for guards. Sometimes dog breeders include descriptions of two more types of the breed in the classification: Williamson — includes 2 subtypes: long-legged, extremely aggressive dogs and massive, balanced animals. Pantera are mini-bulldogs weighing up to 75 pounds, obtained by crossing classic and standard individuals. Modern breed members combine the traits of the Scott and Johnson types, as the main goal of breeders is to obtain hardy dogs with first-class performance. The main purpose of the American Bulldog is as a companion and bodyguard. Color and type of coat The body of the American Bulldog is covered with short fur, the length of which does not exceed 0. Permitted colors of the American breed: White — monochromatic or with small brindle or rufous markings. White-brindle, white-red from pale fawn to deep red — the background color can be either white or colored. Accordingly, in the first case, large spots of permitted colors will be scattered over the body, in the second — large white marks. Tiger, red-brindle — any shades are permissible from dark with red or fawn brindle to light with rare dark markings. The brighter and richer the colors, the better. Black, black and tan, blue, piebald with black markings without brindle, tricolor, marble colors, as well as the presence of a dark mask on the face are disqualifying defects of the breed. Before buying a puppy, it is recommended to get a full description of the breed — visit exhibitions, talk with breeders and other owners. Only an experienced dog breeder can handle a willful dog with a difficult character. It is important to correctly assess the strength and make sure that the future owner will definitely be able to subdue the dominant animal. It is better to buy a puppy from a reliable kennel or breeder. Sick pets or dogs with serious defects of temperament are often sold through ads on the Internet. Such an American bulldog is dangerous not only for others but also for the owner. A responsible breeder will be happy to tell you about the characteristics of the breed, the advantages and disadvantages of each puppy, not only give a verbal description but also demonstrate the litter and the parents. If mental instability is observed, it is worth contacting another nursery. Healthy American Bulldog puppies are active and curious, they do not show aggression and do not hide when they see a new person. A good puppy is evidenced by: strong, moderately well-nourished body; shiny coat without an unpleasant odor; clean eyes and ears;.

The tri-mix is a result of crossing the Akita and the Welsh Corgi, then mixing it with the German Shepherd. With three parents, the outcome of the dog depends on the most outstanding genes. On this note, if you have the German Shepherd as half the parent and the other two as quarters, the dog can have unique features from one of the less dominant parents. Thankfully, the history of its parents is clear and can give us an overview of how the mix looks, behaves, and generally exists. Captain Max created it in the 19th century; he wanted a dog that could suit military and police work. This saw him make a dog that matched the looks, intelligence, and versatility he was looking for. During this time, the dog was used to deliver food and other necessities to German soldiers in the land mines and tanks. After the war, movies featuring German Shepherds brought them back into favor, and people started to keep them. American audiences got attracted to the dog, which saw a growth in numbers in the United States. The German Shepherd was recognized by the American Kennel Club in , becoming one of the oldest dogs to earn recognition. Akita History The Akita is a large-sized dog with its origin in the northern mountainous regions of Japan. The dog comes in two varieties, the Japanese strain, the Akita Inu, and the American strain, known as Akita. The Japanese Akita has a narrow palette of colors, while the American Akita comes in all dog colors. The Akita has a coat similar to that of the Siberian Husky, and this is why they are often confused as one. The Akita is one of the oldest native dogs in Japan. The food you choose for your dog needs glucosamine and chondroitin to support bone and joint health. For treats, it is best to stay away from store-bought treats as they might have hidden sugars. Stick to raw vegetable treats to manage a healthy weight. It seems challenging to maintain, but it is not, as long you brush it regularly. Brushing your mix for approximately 10 minutes daily is advisable to keep the coat in the best condition. On this note, you will need a powerful vacuum to remove the hair. And, the dog might shed its undercoat twice a year, making the shedding even more pronounced. It is therefore not hypoallergenic and might not be the best fit for people that suffer from pet allergies. The mix can do with one bath a month, but you can do more baths if needed. Breeders have been experimenting with up to three breeds at once and a few success stories have come forth as a result. One of the most fascinating and precious tri-mix dog breeds is the German shepherd Akita Corgi mix. Just from the name, you already know this dog is a winner in the looks department. If you are looking for a cuddly, intelligent, and loyal bear for a dog, this great mix might just be for you. In this guide, you will learn a ton about owning a German shepherd Akita Corgi mix. Some of the things covered include physical characteristics, temperaments, grooming, training, feeding, health, and exercise requirements. Physical Characteristics This unique three-way mix is one of the most interesting dogs around. Expectedly, he has a little bit of everything from his folks. Size, weight, and height vary but if you get a large breed, best believe he got it from two of his parents, the German shepherd often measuring inches , an Akita measuring inches , and a Corgi measuring inches. This adorable dog looks like a little grizzly bear. With the exact frame and power, many people understandably have a problem telling if it is a real dog or not until they see the paws sticking out. Ideally, a Corgi weighs as much as 30 lb, a German shepherd, 95 lbs, and the Akita, up to lbs. This disparity reflects greatly on the end result. This goes for its size and height as well. The German shepherd is considered one of the most intelligent dogs around. This small herding dog is a force to reckon with. Plus, Akitas are thought to be humble and very loyal. When you bring these three breeds together, you will definitely end up with an intelligent and calm dog with a love for the outdoors. He will want to be on the move as much as possible. As for affection and loyalty, expect to get plenty of that. As long as his needs are met, he is one of the most moving and sweet dogs to own. His herding instincts always get the best of him. If you can play fetch or Frisbee, that would be great too. This is not a dog to own if you are a couch potato. A long walk to the park twice a day during weekdays and strenuous activities such as hiking and hill walking during the weekdays is in the works for you. On the positive side, he will keep you super fit and toned. Besides physical exercise, this dog requires mental stimulation as well. Squeaky toys and outdoor ball games will give him the best of both worlds. However, because this dog mixture is dependent on high activity levels, he needs to eat the right amount of food. Of course, beware of the looming danger of obesity but let him eat two balanced diets twice a day. Vets recommend a raw food diet with an occasional intake of fish oil. Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplements will also keep things like hip dysplasia at bay. He is a heavy shedder always leaving lots of hair on sofas and fabric. This means you have to brush his coat a number of times weekly to reduce shedding. A quality vacuum is also essential to keep your floors and surface fur-free. As for baths, moderation is the key. Too many baths are counterproductive as it can dry out his skin. Ideally, a couple of baths every month is sufficient. Needless to say, your dog will depend on you to trim his nails and lean his ears from time to time as well. Health Issues All dog breeds have a disposition to certain health complications. As a matter of fact, this breed has the potential to suffer more health problems than pure or two-cross breeds. Two of his big parents, Akita and German Shepherd are susceptible to hip dysplasia and bloat. This can be passed to the baby. Other common problems include back problems, eye issues, and allergies. Since it is difficult to predict the future of your fur baby health-wise, it is always a good idea to have him checked prior to taking him home. This is definitely costly but it will pay off huge in the end. Many breeders often hide this information so that they can make quick sales. Keep that in mind. Finally, a proper diet, proper exercise, and frequent pet visits will go a long way in keeping your mutt happy and healthy for a long time. Buying a Pet Training This is not the hardest dog to trains but not the easiest either. The different personalities and temperaments play out during training. If he gets most of his character from his German Shepherd parent, expect the training to be responsive. He will likely pick up new skills quite effectively and fast. Of course, this depends on your level of dominance and leadership. If you prove yourself to be a worthy leader, the dog will have an easy time obeying your commands. Corgis and Akitas are sweet and loving but they can be quite stubborn. Find a way to work through this by reminding him who is in charge. If you are not firm enough, he will have a field day taking advantage of this. Right from the beginning, establish your leadership as the Alpha and your dog will quickly give you the respect you deserve. Is a German Shepherd Akita Corgi mix for you? German Shepherds braved artillery fire, land mines and tanks to supply German soldiers in the trenches with deliveries of food and other necessities. American audiences loved them. For a time, the German Shepherd was the most popular breed in the United States. It is one of two breeds known as a Welsh Corgi. The other is the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and both descend from the line that is the northern spitz-type dog. An example of a spitz breed is the Siberian Husky. Another theory is that Pembrokes are descended from the Swedish Vallhunds, which were crossed with the local Welsh herding dogs. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is the younger of the two Akita Corgi breeds and is a separate and distinct breed from the Cardigan. The Corgi is one of the smallest dogs in the Herding Group. It is said that Queen Elizabeth II has owned more than 30 during her reign and are her preferred breed. These dogs have been favored by British royalty for more than seventy years, but among British Commoners, have recently fallen into decline in terms of popularity and demand. The story goes that the Vikings and Flemish weavers brought the dogs with them as they traveled to settle in Wales. Going back as far as the 10th century, Akita Corgis were herding sheep, geese, ducks, horses, and cattle. They are known as one of the oldest herding breed of dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are becoming more popular in the United States and rank 20th 24th in American Kennel Club registrations, as of .The Akita is a large dog breed that originated in the mountainous northern regions of Japan. There are two separate varieties of Akita: a Japanese strain, and an American strain, known as the "Akita" or "American Akita". The Japanese strain called the Akita Inu comes in a narrow palette of colors, with all other colors considered atypical of the breed, while the American strain known simply as the Akita comes in all dog colors. The Akita has a short double-coat similar to that of the Siberian Husky, but long-coated dogs can be found in many litters due to a recessive gene. The Akita is a powerful, independent and dominant breed. Japanese history describes the ancestors of the Akita, the Matagi dog as one of the oldest of the native dogs. The Matagi's quarry included wild boar, Sika deer, and Asian black bear. This early dog tracked large game, holding it at bay until hunters arrived to make the kill. Bernards, and the Tosa Inu. Unfortunately, this was done to create a fighting dog as that industry was taking off in the early 20th century. During World War II the Akita was also crossed with German Shepherd Dogs in an attempt to save them from the wartime government order for all non-military dogs to be culled. The ancestors of the American Akita were originally a variety of the Japanese Akita, a form that was not desired in Japan due to the markings, and which is not eligible for show competition. This very humble and loyal dog helped push the Akita into the international dog world. Professor Ueno lived near the Shibuya Train Station in a suburb of the city and commuted to work every day on the train. On May 25, , Professor Ueno suffered a fatal brain haemorrhage at work. He walked to and from the station each day for the next nine years. He returned home where the professor's relatives cared for him, but he never gave up the vigil at the station for his master. His behavior became world-renowned and in , a bronze statue was erected at the Shibuya train station in his honor. He died shortly after. This statue was melted down for munitions during the war, but a new one was commissioned after the war. Mixed breeds incorporate various canine traits in any number of configurations. When you know what breed characteristics your dog might have, you can better anticipate its needs. While each of these breeds is unique, a particular set of their mannerisms will likely be noticeable in all mixes. This is because all three breeds have a few deep-rooted and highly specific traits in common. Tons of Spunk No matter how you slice it, this mix is going to be energetic. The German Shepherd is a highly driven dog with boat-loads of self-motivation. The Akita is a powerful breed with no shortage of stamina. Corgis may be small, but make up for their size in stamina and charm. A Bold Personality All three breeds come fully-loaded with personality. The German Shepherd is protective, eager to please, and loyal. The Akita is an independent dog with a regal demeanor. The Corgi is a playful and clownish fellow known for being endlessly entertaining. A Thick Double Coat All three breeds feature a thick double coat. This means that they have a smooth topcoat that will be fairly long, and a short undercoat that keeps them warm. This means that they have been bred to herd and protect livestock. The Akita is also a working dog, originally bred for guarding homes and pulling carts in Asia. Is it equal parts Akita, German Shepherd, and Corgi? Instead, your dog will be half of one breed, and one-quarter of each of the other two breeds. So, your dog will most likely one of the following combination hybrids: The Half Akita, one-quarter German Shepherd, one-quarter Corgi With this mix, the characteristics of the Akita will be most dominant. It will likely act more like a German Shepherd than either of the other two breeds. The Half Corgi, one-quarter Akita, one-quarter German Shepherd This hybrid will be larger than the usual Corgi and it may not look like a Corgi at all. Corgis are very bold and strong-willed, so expect a dog that requires ample mental stimulation. Not to worry, mutts make great pets and tend to be healthier than pure breeds! Each of the three breeds that make up the German Shepherd Akita Corgi mix has its own unique and interesting characteristics. This way, you can anticipate its needs. Remember, every mixed breed dog is different. Your mixed pup could have any, none, or all of the traits of the following three breeds. The German Shepherd German Shepherds are a working-class breed. They can be protective, brave, and are generally very loyal. German Shepherds can have coats of various lengths and thicknesses. The Akita Originally only owned only by Japanese royalty, the Akita is a Spitz-type dog that has a plush thick coat, athletic build, and regal demeanor. We recommend that families who intend to own an Akita mix check with their insurance company and landlord. Akita breed restrictions exist in some states. The Corgi A lovable and often clownish breed, the Corgi is intelligent, playful, full of energy, and pretty darn adorable. Corgis are a working-breed. These are very intelligent little dogs who like to keep physically and mentally busy. This helpful video from the Dog vs Dog Breed Comparison channel goes over exactly how the German Shepherd and Akita differ in breed-specific characteristics. Considering how independent the Akita is and how mischievous the Corgi can be, this is a fair question. Luckily, the addition of the German Shepherd helps enormously with training. The key to a well-trained dog is consistency and determination with training. However, keep in mind that German Shepherds left to their own devices can become unmanageable. Start training early Training your dog in early puppyhood is a great way to help your dog understand its place in your home. As this Breeding Better Dogs Website explains, training early on is the key to long-term success. Take your dog to obedience classes Dog obedience classes can provide you with an arsenal of tools for fostering a better relationship with your canine companion. Obedience training professionals know how to work with mixed breeds. This PetMD article can help you decide if obedience training is necessary. Be consistent in your training As dog expert Jeff Millman explains, dogs learn patterns and apply them. When you work with your mixed breed pup, consistency is critical. This is a breed with keen intelligence. With a sharp cookie like this, mental stimulation will be critical. This is especially true if your mix contains lots of Corgi! You can provide mental fun in many ways, even at mealtimes according to PetPace. Walk your dog once or even twice daily to release excess energy A well-behaved dog is a well-exercised dog. Physical activity is very important if you want a calm dog that listens! To learn more about how to offer your dog the physical stimulation it needs, you can watch this helpful in-depth Cesar Millan video training guide! Be firm, yet fair, think like a dog! Berkeley Magazine writer Glen Martin explains this in-depth. While all dogs are different, some dog breeds are better with kids than others. This dog can be great for families, with a few conditions. To ensure that this mixed breed, or any breed for that matter, will be good with kids, socialization is the name of the game. As leading AKC dog behavioral expert Denise Flaim explains, you have to train your dog and your children to coexist respectfully. You have to teach your kids to respect your dog, and your dog to respect human beings in general. This can be done through careful civilization. Puppies of any breed who have been socialized properly usually make wonderful family companions. That being said, both Akitas and German Shepherds are known for being naturally loyal and protective of their families. German Shepherds have thick undercoats that tend to shed often. On top of that, Akitas are also known for leaving bits of fur everywhere they go. Two out of the three dog breeds in this mix are heavy shedders. Essentially, this breed is going to shed, and possibly, shed a lot. The solution? A sturdy dog brush and a lot of willpower. People may sell the pups of their family dog at reasonable prices as they just want their puppies to go to a loving home, but those who have dog breeding businesses will charge higher prices as they know there is a demand. These breeds are quite rare, so most breeders will charge higher prices for them. Breeders will need to pay lots of money to raise these puppies until they can be given to their new homes. These costs include puppy food, necessary shots, vet checkups, registrations, toys, and bedding which could total up to thousands of dollars once the puppies are ready to give away. Both German shepherds and corgis are much-loved breeds by dog owners, with the corgi being recognized and often associated with the Queen of England and German shepherds being seen as great loyal guard dogs to protect your home. These breeds have inherited the high intelligence from the German shepherd genes but combined with the more friendly and affectionate levels of being a smaller dog like a corgi. Are Akitas bigger than German shepherds? Male Akitas weigh between lbs whilst measuring 26 inches inches tall, whereas a male and female German shepherd weighs around lbs, and a male measures inches tall. Female Akitas are smaller than male German shepherd dogs though. With good training and adequate grooming, they make wonderful pets for just about anyone. Remember, with this breed, physical and mental exercise are very important.

Sometimes called a Goldenpoo or Goldenoodle, the Miniature Goldendoodle is created by crossing a miniature or toy Poodle with a Golden Retriever. The result is a mild, friendly, family dog that looks like a teddy bear come to life. Their energy level matches the Poodle genes while their gentleness and willingness to please is reflective of the Golden Retriever. They are devoted friends who crave cuddles and will follow you around just to be near you. They are smart dogs with a silly streak. They are loving and loyal and gentle enough to make good playmates for kids. Their intelligence makes them easy to train. This breed has a happy disposition and a friendly, affectionate nature. They crave close contact at all times, and they can develop separation anxiety if you leave them alone too long. They typically get along well with other dogs and other pets. They are eager, excitable, and enthusiastic about outings of all kinds. Their heads are rounded and their ears are floppy and wide-set. Their eyes are large and expressive and noses are typically black. Their muzzles are short to medium with a scissor bite. They have long and fluffy or feathered tails. Mini Goldendoodles have wavy to curly hair and they do not have an undercoat, making them a great choice for people with allergies. While they are considered hypoallergenic, some allergy-sufferers may still experience symptoms. They can be: Black. Cancer Progressive Retinal Atrophy The primary recommendations we make when someone is shopping for Miniature Goldendoodles are fairly standard. Getting your dog the right amount of exercise and keeping them at a healthy weight can prevent many chronic problems and make them overall happier. In addition, taking your dog in for regular checkups, and to stay current on all shots and vaccinations, encourages health as well. One other reason that puppy parents trust Keystone Puppies when looking for Mini Goldendoodles for sale is that we make dog health our top priority! Not only do we only work with responsible breeders that prioritize healthy practices, but we also offer a no-hassle puppy health guarantee. Because they are bred to have the coat qualities of a Poodle, these pups are a popular option for owners looking to adopt a hypoallergenic dog. Their curly coat should be soft to the touch. The signature coat of pretty curls is one of the places where the Poodle ancestry truly shines through. To keep the coat looking its most beautiful, make sure to brush it two to four times per week. Not only is brushing a nice bonding experience for the pup and their person, but it also prevents tangling and matting. Owners can maintain a healthy Goldendoodle coat by bathing them every other month. Meet Mini Goldendoodles for Sale. So many families were trying to avoid shedding coats and the Goldendoodle was proving to fill that need. We started this venture with a mini Poodle instead of a toy Poodle as we felt that was the best step in downsizing to achieve the mini Goldendoodle dog breed. Our goal was to create adult Goldendoodles with the average weight of about 35 lb. Our first litter arrived on January 11, providing us with 5 males and 5 females, all with wavy coats. This litter was an F1 litter , but was the beginning of the many future generations of Goldendoodles and the foundation for the multigen Goldendoodle. Fox Creek Farm retained two of the females in this litter for future development of the mini Goldendoodle breed. Pebbles whelped the first litter of F1B mini Goldendoodles in .We still have dogs in our breeding program that trace all the way back to Pebbles as documented in the GANA database. You can view photos of the entire litter below and some feedback provided by each family who raised one of these little teddy bears. Fox Creek Farm followed each and every puppy throughout its life to learn about temperaments, health, trainability, coat care, and longevity. We made some lifelong friends with these families who had trusted us to provide them with a puppy unlike any other breed they had met before. Not only were the reports always positive, just about every family has since come back for one or more mini Goldendoodles from Fox Creek Farm. The first of this litter to pass of old age lived to be .The last of the litter to pass was just a month shy of 17 years. On average, the mini Goldendoodles in this litter lived to be 15 years of age. We found this to be in part due to the hybrid vigor and in part due to the health testing certifications performed on the parents. This proves the importance of health testing dogs before they are bred. Listen to me, do I sound like a proud Mama or not? Amy, Triscuit has been a total joy in our lives. Then along came Triscuit. Triscuit, John and I look forward to a reunion with his siblings one day soon. I was so fortunate to have Triscuit come visit with me this past summer. She thinks they all love her as much as we do!! She loves to swim, play in the snow, take walks, and sleep on laps. We love her so much! Hard to believe they are 9 yrs old. I am so glad to hear that her siblings are healthy and doing well. She was the runt of the litter, so proof that runts are healthy dogs! Buddy Buddy is a treasured member of our family. He still plays like a puppy, he loves the snow, playing fetch, and a good romp in the surf at the beach. Everyone who meets Buddy falls in love with him and he is known town wide as he spends hours siting in our driveway, butt to butt with our other dog, Scout, watching the cars go by. He still loves to eat anything he can and likes to play in the snow. I am sad that he is already 9 years old! He still acts young, in his usual lazy manner! Thanks so much for keeping in touch. Casey A few words about Casey: He is very lovable and compassionate. He enjoys hiking though all seasons and is a great trailblazer leading the pack with his nose to the ground, stopping at any fork in the trail to be told which direction to continue in. Many times he will fall asleep with it under his paw. Casey has some funny and entertaining quirks that make me laugh out loud. He loves digging in the sand at beaches and on every July 4th he hides in the bathtub during the fireworks as loud noises scare him. Pebbles I have lots of dogs being a breeder. She produced 3 litters before retiring from breeding. She is my constant companion and seems to read my mind. All the other dogs have learned that when Pebbles says it is time for a bath, they have to drop whatever they are doing and let her clean their eyes and ears. Lucy Lucy produced many wonderful litters for Fox Creek Farm. She is the mother of Chester, one of Fox Creek Farms fabulous studs. She is living out her retirement with Debra Wachter. Lucy outlived all her brothers and sisters. She joined them all for a romp in the skies in early December, just a month shy of 17 years. Sign Up for our Newsletter First Name. Life Span Did You Know? Although this breed is very popular, it is not currently recognized by the American Kennel Club. As long as they are well-socialized, Miniature Goldendoodles tend to make excellent family companions. They tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. Although they will alert you of strangers at the door, they tend to warm up quickly as they are more interested in making friends and receiving attention. Mini Goldendoodles are highly adaptable dogs. Their smaller size makes them a great fit for apartment living or for bigger homes with yards where they can run. As long as they get enough daily exercise, mental stimulation, and attention, they can adapt well. These little dogs tend to do well in just about any climate. However, like any dog, they are sensitive to heat. Due to their smaller size, you may need to gear up with some dog-friendly winter gear when temperatures start falling. Because this dog breed is loyal and people-oriented, they love to be in your company and do not like being left alone for long periods of time. This means they can be prone to developing separation anxiety if you do not work with them on it early on. Instead, make sure your new Mini Goldendoodle puppy has an active role in your life. If you do need to leave them alone for a bit, make sure they have some comforting toys or challenging puzzles to keep them from getting bored. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. Make sure you are asking about the health and genetic history of the parents. They tend to be sensitive to tone of voice as well. As long as training is consistent and focused on positive praise and reward, a Mini Goldendoodle will strive to be obedient and impress you and tends to excel at almost any task. Daily brushing is recommended to remove tangles and prevent mats. Bathing is occasional and can often be relegated to the dog groomer that is recommended you visit every weeks. The groomer can help handle some of this during visits, but you will still need to do some maintenance at home between visits. Nail trims once or twice monthly keep nails from growing too long. Weekly ear checks with careful cleanings as needed help prevent ear infections. Daily brushing, plus cleanings at the vet as needed, is good dental care for dogs and can help prevent painful dental diseases later in life. Although the parents of this breed have a lot of energy, a Mini Goldendoodle tends to sit in a more moderate activity range. Daily walks plus some playtime and time to run are usually enough for them. But, they are also likely to match their energy level to yours, so be prepared for some bursts of energy as well as plenty of cuddling on the couch. Fully-grown Mini Goldendoodles usually stand inches tall at the shoulder. A Miniature Goldendoodle puppy can vary in size based on the generation of the dog. The result is generally a dog that will range from pounds. Mini Goldendoodles generally live for years on average. Featured Mini Goldendoodle Article. Adoption Process Mini Goldendoodle Goldendoodles are mixes between Golden Retrievers and Poodles that are very affectionate, playful, and all around a very friendly dog. They are known to be a great breed for novice owners, but loved by experienced pet owners as well, as they are fairly easy to groom and get along well with children and other dogs. Highly intelligent, they are usually easy to train and have a high energy level that requires regular exercise. They are typically larger dogs that do not adapt well to apartment style living but would instead prefer to have a larger area to play, indoors or outdoors. This breed does not shed much which can make them great dogs for owners with allergies, but this requires them to be groomed regularly. Goldendoodles have a high sensitivity level but are generally friendly around strangers. They are gentle dogs that are highly social and not great as guard dogs or watch dogs but have done well in roles such as therapy dogs or other service dogs. These dogs do best when they are around the people they love and should not be kept outside or in an outdoor kennel; they will experience separation anxiety when kept away from their owners for long periods of time. When left for a while, they do best to be kept in a kennel temporarily, and their destructive behaviors can be avoided by providing them with toys to chew on and by having a radio playing in the background. Miniature Goldendoodles are usually a mix between Miniature or Toy Poodles crossed with a Golden Retriever, which usually results in a dog that is 13 to 20 inches tall and weighs on average 15 to 35 pounds. These sizes, however, can vary greatly depending on the size of the parents for each puppy. They are generally healthy dogs but, like all breeds, can be prone to certain conditions. This breed has a desire to please and are known for developing affectionate bonds with their owners which makes them an excellent breed for owners excited to play with them. Radiography Digital X-Rays Using a radiograph digital x-ray , we can examine your pet's internal systems to reveal information that may be invisible from the outside. Radiography is safe, painless and non-invasive. It uses only very low doses of radiation. Because the level of radiation exposure required to perform radiography is very low, even pregnant females and very young pets can undergo this procedure. Radiographs can be used to evaluate bones and organs, and diagnose conditions including broken bones, chronic arthritis, bladder stones, spinal cord diseases and some tumors. Ultrasound The use of diagnostic imaging allows our team of veterinary professionals to create extremely detailed images of your pet's internal structures. With ultrasound imaging, we expose part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the inside of the body. Because we capture ultrasound images in real-time, we can see the structure and movement of your pet's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through the blood vessels. Having this valuable technology available to our vets in our in-house lab means that your dog or cat's condition can be diagnosed quickly and treatment can start sooner. Bloodwork At our vet lab in Santa Clarita we are able to run a number of common and specialized blood tests to determine the health of your animal and to diagnose illness. Some of the most common veterinary blood tests we do are CBC complete blood count , white blood count, hemoglobin and MCHC, hematocrit, platelets, eosinophils, and blood serum profile. Urinalysis Urinalysis is a key diagnostic test that provides your vet with essential insights into the physical and chemical properties of your pet's urine. Urinalysis is primarily used to assess the health of your animal's kidneys and urinary tract system, but it can also be helpful in detecting issues in other organ systems and is important for diagnosing metabolic diseases such as diabetes. This is a valuable diagnostic test for both healthy and sick animals and should be included in any comprehensive evaluation of your pet's overall health. Fecal Exams A fecal exam is the microscopic examination of your pet's feces, which can be done at our in-house vet lab in Santa Clarita. The ultimate goal of a fecal exam is to identify and treat any GI infections that could be compromising your pet's health and even the health of your family. Fecals allow your vet to determine if your pet has intestinal parasites such as roundworms or hookworms. Parasites can make pets uncomfortable, irritable, and lead to more serious conditions. Some can even be transmitted to humans. The only way to detect them is with a fecal exam. Annual fecal examines should be a vital part of every pet's routine wellness exam. Digital Dental X-Rays If your cat or dog is suffering periodontal disease, much of this damage occurs below the gum line where it can't be easily seen. Digital dental X-Rays help our veterinarians assess your pet's oral health. Digital X-Rays are safer for your pet. They allow our team of veterinary professionals to examine roots, bones and internal anatomy of your cat or dog's teeth. With digital X-Rays, the risk of radiation exposure for your pet is significantly lower than with traditional X-Ray technology. We are able to see below the surface of your pet's gum line to fully evaluate each tooth. This technology allows your Santa Clarita vet to see results immediately, then project them onto a computer screen to review. This procedure can be completed easily and quickly. It reveals data that may be integral to your pet's diagnosis. In other cases, a cardiac ultrasound may be required to identify disorders in the chambers of the heart. Cold Laser Therapy During pet laser therapy , the technician concentrates light over affected tissue for periods ranging from 8 to 30 minutes, depending on the issue being treated. Laser therapy works by emitting light that stimulates cells in a process called photo-biotherapy. Photo-biotherapy encourages cell metabolism and protein synthesis, improving cell strength. This drug-free and non-invasive treatment works to stimulate cells, reducing pain signals to nerves, increasing blood circulation, and releasing endorphins. The Best Name for Your New Best Friend How to Choose a Great Name for Your Labradoodle If you are fully prepared to bring your Labradoodle home, or have already brought it home and are starting to search for names, there are a couple of considerations to take into account. Think about syllable counts, personal preferences, pronunciation, and more. Australian Labradoodles are a different breed the Labradoodles although similar! Pick a Two-Syllable Name Choosing a two-syllable name for your Labradoodle is important because dogs respond best to two-syllable words. If you plan on training your Labradoodle puppy, which is highly recommended for all dog owners to do, limiting your options to a two-syllable or even three-syllable name is a good idea. A dog that is not trained, while unlikely to get a one-syllable name mixed up with a similar sounding one-syllable command, will become rowdy and difficult to control. This makes dogs, especially Labradoodles, get into trouble and even become antisocial in some cases. Choose a Name You Can Easily Pronounce An easily pronounceable dog name is the best option for Labradoodle so that you can properly pronounce it every time. Furthermore, those around you can easily understand the name of your dog. If you do not fluently speak a second language, it is best to avoid foreign language names, including those with accents, unique inflections, or double meanings in English. We tend to yell commands to our dogs when we are out in public in a large and spacious place such as a grassy park, beach, dog park , or even in a big backyard or on a sprawling farm property. If you and your family are an English-speaking family with English as your first language, it is recommended to speak English to your Labradoodle. Labradoodles are a highly sensitive, astute breed and can pick up changes in your voice, tone, volume, and even how you pronounce command and name accents. Naming a Labradoodle who understands American English commands and vocabulary with a French, Russian, Japanese, or other names might end up being confusing for the dog, causing them to misunderstand your calls and requests. While some names are simply cute or charming, meaningful names will offer your dog a sense of love and respect with a name that has true emotional value and that they can grow into as you get to know their unique habits and special personality. Avoid names of family members who have passed away, humans that you know, or names of past pets. This might give you an unfair expectation of your new Labradoodle living up to your old pet, rather than accepting them for who they are. Some of the best and most popular names for female Labradoodles include: Luna. Like both its parent breeds, the Labradoodle is intelligent, friendly, loyal, and loving. Such a fantastic animal deserves the very best dog name possible. Picking the right one can seem overwhelming at first. To start, find lots of inspiration. Then, when you see a name you like, write it down and keep searching. Then, when you narrow it down to a handful of ideas, say the names out loud and get feedback from others in your household, if applicable. For example, you can pick cute names. Or sporty. Or both! It also lets you select names inspired by your interests, like movies, literature, sports, comics, religion, history, and more. Why not give it a whirl and see what you think? It was developed as a hypoallergenic guide dog The first official breeding of a Poodle and Labrador Retriever was arranged by the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia in .This cross created a dog called Sultan, who proved that a Labradoodle had the intelligence and personality to be a guide dog along with a low-maintenance, hypoallergenic coat. Choosing a simple and short name for your Labradoodle can pay off in the long run; especially if they tend to be mischievous. Remember that the name you choose for your puppy you will be repeating for the next 10 to 20 years. Short and sweet names are easy for family and friends to remember along with your dog. Choosing a long and complicated name that includes more than one word will confuse your dog. Once you have decided on a name for your Labradoodle puppy, call to them using it so that they become familiar with their name from a young age. After a couple of days of being familiarized with their name, you may notice your Labradoodle responding to it. Always choose a name that can be easily pronounced by all family members and that is appropriate to pronounce in public places. We first started breeding goldens in .We found a wonderful mama dog and had her bred to a handsome, healthy sire. Our first litter of puppies was born, and we realized we had fallen into something that we loved. Alisa and the girls knew that our lives would never be complete again without puppies in it. Poor Zach, who loves to build things, realized that if he wanted his garage back and to keep puppies out of his bathtub on cold nights he had better get started on a really nice dog house. Ha ha. Everyone was happy. Breeding can be an interesting field to navigate. There are many different breeding philosophies and many types of breeders but deciding what our program would look like was as simple as laying out our core values. Eight years later our program has grown. We now have four of our own beautiful dogs and several more in wonderful guardian homes. Breeding still brings us joy. We anxiously await every litter and love our time with your pup. We are excited to meet you and be a part of your journey. We carefully select our Dam and Sire for good health and wonderful personalities. We believe that nutrition is key to healthy happy dogs, so we offer good, high quality foods to mother and pups and carefully supplement with meat scraps. We live outside of Buhl, Idaho with lots of room for puppies to roam and play. We don't kennel our pups except at night for safety reasons. The puppies are a part of our lives from day one, and they will be well socialized to inside and outside environments, children, cars rides, and other pets. We believe in doing preliminary potty training as well as simple obedience training - even in the first 8 weeks. We allow the mother and pups to be together from day 1 to day 56, as they learn best from each other. We feel confident that these puppies will be happy, healthy, and well socialized. While Red Golden Retrievers can grow as big as a normal golden retriever, they are often smaller than most normal golden retrievers. Red Golden Retrievers are very similar to Golden Retrievers in many ways. The main difference besides their coat color is their energy levels. Red Retrievers were bred to aid in hunting birds and are known to be more athletic than standard Goldens. They need to be exercised more often to get all of their energy out. We stand by our pups, which is why we work alongside licensed veterinarians to ensure that our puppies are healthy and always up to date on their deworming and vaccination protocols. We also offer a 2-year genetic health guarantee on all of our puppies. That way, you can rest easy knowing your puppy is healthy and free from genetic defects and congenital diseases. Our mission is dedicated to connecting healthy, beautiful puppies with their forever families. Because their temperament is friendly, energetic, and patient. These pups are known for being loyal, intelligent, and devoted. Due to their higher energy levels they were bred to hunt after all , they do best with active families where they can get a lot of attention and are great with children. Luckily Red Retrievers and Goldens alike are known for their soft mouths since they were bred to hunt birds. The original Goldens came to be as a result of cross-breeding between various different breeds including: Water Spaniels, Yellow Retrievers, Irish Settlers, and Bloodhounds over several generations. In other words, all Golden Retriever subtypes including the English Cream Golden Retriever subtype , are members of the same family, or breed. Oftentimes, cheaper golden retriever puppies can ultimately cost you a LOT more money in the long run because they are more likely to have health issues. Are Red Goldens more expensive? Because of their elegant red coats and rarity, Red Goldens can be more expensive than certain other subtypes of Golden Retriever. Both are very similar in temperament, friendliness, socialness, health, and looks. They differ most in coat color, size, and energy. They are typically the smallest puppies of the litter and are more athletic meaning more energy to burn! How big is a full-grown Red Golden Retriever? The weight range for these sweet pups can be from pounds for full-grown males, and pounds for full-grown females. Additionally, these babies tend to stand at about inches tall, with males being on the taller end of the spectrum. Do Red Goldens shed? Yes, all types and variations of Golden Retrievers shed, and this is entirely normal for the breed. However, it is worth noting that because the Red Goldens often have a coat that is slightly shorter than typical Goldens, some owners claim they shed less overall. Problem solved! Are Red Golden Retrievers aggressive? The good news is— no, Red Golden Retrievers are not aggressive dogs by nature even with their higher energy levels. They still have the same sweet, calm, and lovable disposition which makes them a fantastic addition to any family to give plenty of attention to everyone including yours. Are Red Goldens more calm? Most people want a smaller-sized dog, so Mini Goldendoodles are the most popular size and are, therefore, more expensive to buy. Recently, some unscrupulous breeders have been attempting to produce Micro or Teacup Goldendoodles by backcrossing multigenerational dogs to produce tiny pups that weigh as little as 10 pounds. These little dogs are effectively runts that can have lots of serious inherited health problems, and most professional, experienced breeders find the practice of this extensive inbreeding unethical. That price tag is very tempting to puppy mills and backyard breeders who are churning out as many Micro Goldendoodles as they can, which is very much to the detriment of the breed. Multiple Breeds Most legitimate breeders only offer one breed. If you spot adverts for multiple breeds, compare the details against other similar ads. If you spot any duplication, walk away. Location, Location Adverts for puppies should contain a landline contact telephone number. Often, puppy farms are situated in remote areas, well away from prying eyes, so check that telephone number to make sure it matches the location where the puppy is being kept. Cut And Paste? Puppy farms exist solely to produce large numbers of puppies as quickly as possible. The idea is to exploit current trends and make maximum profit. So, they work on selling quantity, not quality. Reputable breeders will not expect you to meet them at a gas station or a shopping mall car park to hand over the puppy. If possible, you also want to see the father dog. The breeder should be able to show you clean health certificates for the parent dogs, as well as vaccination paperwork, and proof of deworming and flea prevention. In fact, many insist on that.
