They are also popular choices for families with allergies, as they do not shed as much as other breeds. Poodle Mixes come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and colors, making them one of the most popular hybrid dog breeds. While all Poodle Mixes share some common features, their individual personalities can vary widely. Some Poodle Mixes are confident and outgoing, while others are more reserved and shy. Some breeds tend to be independent thinkers, while others are more eager to please. The best way to determine what personality type is right for you is to meet with a local breeder or rescue organization that specializes in Poodle Mixes. Poodle Mix Puppy Health Considerations Though generally very happy and long-lived — with an average lifespan of around years — our Poodle Mixes for sale are not without their unique health concerns. Like every breed of dog, there are a few conditions you should be aware of before you consider purchasing one of our Poodle Mix puppies for sale. Understanding the risks allows you to know the signs and prevent small health concerns from turning into big ones. Of course, not all Poodle Mixes will develop these conditions, but it is important to be aware of them. Finding a Poodle Mix puppy for sale from a reputable breeder can also dramatically — although, not eliminate — the risk of your dog developing some of these conditions. Regardless of the type of Poodle Mix you have, there are a few things you need to know about coat care. First, regular brushing is essential to prevent mats and tangles. Finally, Poodle Mixes need to be groomed every weeks by a professional groomer. This includes a bath, brush out, trimming of the coat, and nail clipping. By following these simple coat care tips, you can help your Poodle Mix look and feel his best. Meet Poodle Mix Puppies for Sale. If a Mini Poodle Mix takes after their Mini Poodle parent, they will be a small dog that is affectionate, loving, and playful. Miniature Poodles are intelligent, sensitive dogs with cheerful dispositions. They tend to get along well with children, other pets, and other dogs. They even tend to be good with strangers as long as they have been properly socialized. They do tend to alert you of things, which can make them prone to barking. Working to train your dog to stop barking early on can keep this from becoming a nuisance behavior. If the other parent breed has similar traits, then you can expect a similar temperament from a Miniature Poodle Mix. You can also meet the mother in person to see what temperament she has and the behavior she is modeling for her puppies. The breeder should have started socialization and training. However, it is up to you to continue to train and socialize a puppy once you get them home to ensure they grow into a well-rounded dog. A Miniature Poodle is a highly adaptable dog that does well in apartments as well as larger homes and in most climates. Because they are so people-oriented, they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. If the other parent breed is similar, then you can also expect a high adaptable Miniature Poodle Mix. The other breed in the mix is likely to have their own quirks, so you do still want to ask the breeder about them. Are mixed-breed dogs healthier than purebred dogs? Just as a mix can inherit none of the conditions common to their parent breeds, they could also inherit some combination of them or all of them. Make sure you ask about the health history of both of the parents. You can also ask about any health tests or clearances that have been done. Miniature Poodles tend to be intelligent dogs that are eager to please and easy to train. They tend to be a good fit for owners of all experience levels. As long as the other parent breed is also a good fit for all experience levels, then you can expect a Mini Poodle Mix to be highly trainable as well. If the other parent breed is more difficult to train, then you will want to prepare for that possibility in a Miniature Poodle Mix. A mixed-breed can inherit a coat similar to one of their parents or a coat that is some combination of them both. If a Miniature Poodle Mix inherits the Poodle coat, it will be low-shedding, require daily brushing, and require professional grooming every weeks. Once or twice monthly nail trims keeps them from growing too long. Weekly ear checks with careful cleanings as needed can help prevent ear infections. Brushing teeth daily or using an enzyme toothpaste every day in addition to cleanings at the vet as needed are ideal dental care for dogs. Although they are small, Miniature Poodles are high-energy dogs that require daily walks plus playtime and extra activity to be happy and healthy. If the other parent breed is also a high-energy breed, then you can expect a Mini Poodle Mix to also be a high-energy dog. If the other parent breed has a lower energy level, a Mini Poodle Mix could take after them, but you still want to be prepared for the potential of a high-energy dog. A Miniature Poodle is usually inches tall and weighs pounds. The other parent breed can have a big effect on this, especially if they are the mother, so you want to ask the breeder about them. Miniature Poodles generally live for years. Although the other parent breed may affect this slightly, you should be able to expect a similar life span in a Mini Poodle Mix. Of the officially recognized three colors for Labradors by the A. In our breeding program, we breed for all three colors. History of Black Labradors Black Labradors have an amazing history dating back centuries. They were bred from the water dogs that are now extinct. Initially, Labradors were hunting or fishing dogs and shooting companions. Up until the year , many believed that all Labradors were black. It wasn't until the mid-century that breeders ventured out and bred for chocolate and yellow Labradors as well. Even now, many people both in the U. The Best Qualities of Black Labradors Buying black Labrador puppies is most preferred by customers but not without reason. They have an amazing history of being bred for centuries as the most favorable human companions! The black Labrador puppies are magical to watch as their striking black color exemplifies the shine of the thick double coat They have an unrivaled temperament known for their devotion and reliability to their owners Categorized as sport dogs by A. Available by phone:. As my website states, I am not like other breeders in many ways. First, I want to explain how the average Labrador breeder raises their pups the first few weeks of their life. They expect these tiny pups without their senses fully developed to find their way to a nipple without being smothered. I understand that this is what dogs do in the wild, but this is also why many puppies die in the wild. .Then, on top of that they hope that each of the pups will get enough milk on it's own to make it through the 1st week of life. They expect the Lab mom to do all the work, so they don't have to lose a wink of sleep. This is all very sad to say but it's true. I, on the other hand, care about each individual pup's life, I care that each and every one of them survive so that they can live a full and happy life. So, I make sure that each individual pup is given outstanding care. How do I do this? I began with hand raising each one of my pups the first 3 weeks of its life. What do I mean by hand raise my pup? It means I personally make sure each individual pup is fed every 2 hours- 24 hours a day, the first 2 weeks of its life. At feeding time, I make sure each puppy gets on a nipple so they don't have to struggle to find one. I make sure that each puppy gets an adequate amount of milk. Then, once I see that they have been well fed. I pick up one pup at a time and have the mom lick it to go potty. And then I put them in their little crib to ensure they are safe and not smooth by the mother until the next feeding 2 hours later. At three weeks, we feed the pups every 4 hours. But at this point, even though the pups eyes and ears are open. I still supervise the feeding to ensure that each pup is adequately fed and again not smothered by it's mother. I believe in giving these pups outstanding care. Even if that means that I lose a lot of sleep, and even if it ends up just saving one pups life. That one pup could be the next Labrador that I get a testimony about how it brought so much joy into one person's life! So, in the end, all the work and lack of sleep is worth it. I am up now about to give my pups their 3 am feeding. Hope this helps you all understand what is put into each litter. She is from our breeding between Cash and Bella, both parents are health certified. Sugar is overnight crate trained and has some other training. She has the sweetest disposition; we absolutely love her! However, we have had a family emergency that has come up that may cause us to have to put Sugar up for sale. If you would be interested in Sugar, please email us and let us know about yourself, and the lifestyle that you would be able to give Sugar. We will be reviewing potential families who would be interested in Sugar and pick the best family for her, and make a decision later this month. They are given constant positive attention their whole time with us. We have a big game room that we call the "Labby Room" This room is designated for our labs and their lab puppies. The puppies get a lot of interaction with all our kids in this room. They also become well adjusted to all the sounds of the home life, like the sound of a vacuum. When the pups are born, I will contact you and inform you on how many pups were born. We will post up pictures of each litter soon after they are born. And try to post weekly picture updates so you can watch the puppies grow. We will also post video on our face book page. When the pups are 6 to 7 weeks of age, I will contact you to set up an appointment for you choose and pick up your pup at 8 weeks of age. If you had first deposit in for a male pup you will have first choice of all the males available. If you have second deposit in, you will have the next appointment to choose from the males that are left and so forth. This order of reserving pups would also apply to the females as well. We honor all reservations on a puppy by not selling the puppy to anyone else. So if you are interested in a litter and don't want to make a reservation until "you see the litter". An appointment can be made to view the left-over puppies when they are 10 weeks old, and no sooner. No appointments will be allowed at a younger age, except for the families that made a prior reservation. We will not allow our baby puppies to be exposed to potential life threatening viruses from people that are just "shopping". We wait until all puppies that have been reserved are safely home, before we show any left-over puppies. Any left-over pups will be at least 10 weeks of age before any viewings are allowed, to insure they have at least had 2 sets of shots in. The only other accommodation that we can offer is a zoom call, so you can see the pups before you make a reservation. Most of our sweet puppies are sold before they are even born. We specialize in breeding Mini Goldendoodles as well as a few other breeds. We also have partnered up with several other high quality breeders that raise mini goldendoodle pups that meet our strict genetic criteria and testing. So we usually have a good selection of very high quality puppies. View Our Available Puppies! Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. The Golden Retriever has been an AKC-recognized breed since and was commonly used as a gun dog and for retrieving small game such as waterfowl, and for companionship. The Golden Retriever originated in the Scottish Highlands. The first Lord Tweedmouth, Dudley Majoribanks, is credited with developing the breed and keeping detailed records to create the ideal gun dog for the terrain. Great discipline and a gentle spirit make the Golden Retriever a perfect retrieval breed since the goal of this task is to bring the trophy back as undamaged as possible. Golden Retrievers first appeared in dog shows in at a British dog show. They also started appearing in the United States around the same time as they were brought across the Canadian border. They gained popularity with sport hunters and in general. Their popularity really took off in the s and they are consistently one of the most popular dog breeds. If you are not the sporting type, bringing a Golden Retriever into your family as a pet is just as rewarding because they are one of the most loyal and jovial breeds out there. One of the facts about Golden Retrievers is that they are the epitome of friendly and make fantastic family dogs. Golden Retrievers are considered one of the friendliest dog breeds. They tend to be good with kids, other dogs, other pets, and even strangers. Goldens love attention and they bond closely with their families. They are affectionate with them, and also just about everyone else. Although they do tend to get along with everyone, they love being around their favorite humans the most. They will bark to alert you and can end up barking a lot if you do not train your dog to stop barking early on. Golden Retrievers are highly adaptable dogs. They thrive in homes with yards where they can run. They can also adapt to apartment living as long as they get enough daily exercise, mental stimulation, and attention. These dogs do well in just about any climate, but are sensitive to heat. As one of the most affectionate dog breeds , they are not at all happy about being left alone for long periods of time. Although super-friendly and attention-loving, Goldens can also be sensitive to their surroundings; make sure they feel included, but have a quiet place to go if things get too noisy or overwhelming. Potential health concerns to be aware of in a Golden Retriever include progressive retinal atrophy, cataracts, elbow dysplasia , and hip dysplasia. Good breeding practices make a big difference in the health of puppies. Reputable breeders screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. So, make sure you ask about the health and genetic history of the parents. You can also ask about any health tests or clearances that have been done. Goldens are considered one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners. They are highly trainable dogs that pick up on things quickly and are eager to please. These traits make them a good fit for owners of all experience levels. It also helps them excel at obedience competitions. As one of the smartest dog breeds , Golden Retrievers can get bored easily. Because they pick up things quickly, they can get bored with too much repetition in training. If your dog has mastered the command, move on to something more advanced or another activity. You can also enroll in puppy training classes for some variety in training and also some socialization. Golden Retrievers have a long double coat that will shed a little year-round and will be heavier twice a year as the seasons change. Brushing a few times a week and daily brushing during seasonal shedding along with a bath as needed is usually enough for at-home care. You will want to go to the dog groomer for a professional trim a few times a year, especially as the seasons change. Nail trims once or twice monthly keep nails from growing too long. Daily tooth brushing, along with cleanings at the vet when needed, is ideal. Golden Retrievers are one of the most active dog breeds. Daily walks plus some playtime, time to run, and other activities are usually enough to keep these dogs happy and healthy. But, they are high-energy dogs that will likely always be up for more activity if you are. Much like the Labrador , they also tend to have an extended puppyhood. They tend to start winding down a little around the age of 3 and settle into your lifestyle, but they will still be high-energy dogs that require a lot of daily activity. Goldens are known for being versatile and athletic dogs. They tend to love swimming. Once they are done growing and the vet clears them for higher-impact activities, you can try other things too. They are one of the dog breeds that make good running partners. You can also teach them how to play frisbee or play fetch. Training for dog sports is another good option. In addition to obedience, Golden Retrievers are well suited for agility, dock diving , rally, flyball, tracking, and more. Fully-grown Golden Retrievers usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. Golden Retrievers generally live for years on average. With their intelligence, eagerness to please, and gentle disposition, Golden Retrievers are versatile working dogs. In addition to being one of the dog breeds that make the best service dogs , Goldens can be found working as emotional support dogs, certified therapy dogs, search and rescue dogs, military dogs, police dogs, animal actors, and more. Hi, Hope you are well. We recently got a KC registered lab puppy at the end of September, I can vouch that there are plenty of responsible breeders out there that are not charging ridiculous lockdown inflation prices. Agree completely with 5labs reply, those are the same reasons for which we would only ever get KC registered pups. We started our research and contacting breeders at the end of June and had a puppy by end of September. To note this can take much longer depending on waiting list availability and we got super lucky through breeder word of mouth. Regarding Kennel Club website - yes the website transfer was shambles, and paperwork has a backlog. That shouldn't be an excuse not to register a litter. If you wish to follow the KC route, here are my tips that I've learnt from chatting with responsible breeders and my own research: 1 Please do NOT buy from pets4homes. You can see the adverts that have poorly written English and make up garbage health tests. I read one along lines of: "this is the most health tested dog in the country" Also found many ask for large non refundable deposits. Even if they are valid ads, the prices always seem to be extortionate. I avoided for peace of mind. Dogs only need to be health tested to be on the website I. I think this covers 3 months. Again watch out for those charging extortionate prices and don't be afraid to ask prices from breeders who don't advertise them. The effort needs to come from you - breeders are being contacted in the s and won't have time to get in touch with you to make initial contact, be proactive. We searched by local counties but quickly had to widen the distance to most of England includes Ireland, Scotland and Wales too as countries. By breeder, we cross-checked current parents and previous litters back to KC website health tests. If they don't exist on KC website, I suggest you ask the breeder for copies of tests up front. We ruled out all non KC registered from the beginning and saved time. We wrote a "mini CV" as an initial introduction message and sent it to select breeders that we thought were great. This just contained basic info such as our names, location, contact details, job details, hours and lifestyle. Easier for a busy breeder to reply to someone who already helps them halfway. Be patient and considerate, I usually gave most breeders a week or two to get back and then followed up. If no reply then I crossed them off. If you do find a puppy, ensure to cross yourselves off any lists you're on I went back and rang so they don't have to chase me when they have litters next year. Be super patient, be kind and good luck! Beautiful, well socialised, black puppies from field trial championship bloodlines. Coefficient of breeding comes out at 1. No expense spared, socially developed with siblings, mum and our other family pet dog. Very carefully chosen mating. These lovable pups are wildly popular and the perfect match for many families. They come in a wide variety of colors and coats, including all white—which is relatively rare. Here are just a few white Pugs whose humans share their lives on Instagram. Sometimes, he gets both! Sugar Sugar is a five-year-old white Pug who has an all-black Pug sister named Pepper! Why the Controversy? White Pugs are usually the result of a genetic mutation, but some breeders have attempted to produce white Pugs through selectively breeding dogs with genetic predispositions for albinism and leucism. Albinism is an inherited disorder that affects melanin production. Pugs with albinism produce zero melanin, and will have fully white fur, pale pink skin, and pale pinkish eyes. Leucism reduces but does not fully eliminate melanin production, and leucistic Pugs will typically have white or cream fur and light blue or brown eyes. Albinism and in some cases, leucism can cause vision impairments and blindness, sun sensitivity, and increased susceptibility to certain cancers. When breeders pair dogs that carry the genetic markers for albinism, they risk producing puppies with serious health issues and special needs that require additional care both financially and physically from their families. The controversy is based purely on the fact that it is unethical to purposefully produce dogs that are likely to have physical disabilities and health risks. Breeders eager to make profits prey on unsuspecting dog lovers and use the power of scarcity and exoticism to sell white Pugs. Unfortunately, many of these pugs find themselves in homes that are not prepared to support their special needs, putting them at risk of abandonment and neglect. White Pug Basic Info White Pugs are purebred Pugs displaying a specific phenotype of a genetic mutation, and will share all the same general characteristics of typical fawn and black Pugs. Here are some of the basics about this breed. In truth, white Pugs are typically albino or leucistic, though some may be mixed breed dogs whose parentage includes breeds known to typically have white coats. But as the breed was bred, these were seen as desirable characteristics and so they were brought forward to what the modern day Pug looks like. White Pugs can be bred, and their coloration is always a genetic mutation. White purebred Pugs are always albino or leucistic, and there is no evidence to suggest that any reputable breeders have managed to produce white Pugs without the albino or leucistic gene. Pugs are outgoing, goofy, stubborn, and sensitive. White Pugs, who are prone to vision problems may have additional needs due to their special needs. White Pug Size Purebred Pugs are typically inches tall, and should weigh between pounds. White Pug Health Pugs are brachycephalic, meaning they have short, squashed faces. The squashed-face look is a purposeful aesthetic choice developed over decades of careful selective breeding. Because of this, Teacup Pugs can reach high prices. Some breeders work to produce smaller and smaller puppies, which is done by breeding with toy breeds or breeding the runts. Unfortunately, this means breeders are selecting for size rather than health or temperament, so you could have a puppy that grows into an adult with behavioral or health issues. This unofficial term is more of a cute buzzword that highlights the novelty of these tiny dogs, which can often literally fit within a teacup. A toy breed, on the other hand, is an official term for small versions of standard breeds. Image Credit: kikkian, Shutterstock 3. They were favored as the impish companion of Chinese emperors and became the beloved mascot of the royal House of Orange in Holland. They make excellent companions and enjoy playing with their owners, including young children. Be sure to always supervise interactions, however, particularly if you have large dogs that can easily injure a miniature pup like a Teacup Pug. Puppies should be on high-quality puppy food for the first year. Then they can transition onto a quality adult formula. Small, stocky dogs like a Pug can suffer from health problems if they become obese. Still, Pugs are playful and lively, so they will engage in some exercise to stay fit. Short-faced breeds like Teacup Pugs and standard Pugs often struggle to cool themselves in hot and humid weather, however, so be sure to limit exercise in the heat. Early socialization is important for keeping Pugs friendly and tolerant of other pets and people. Regular brushing will remove loose hair and prevent shed hair from building up. They also benefit from occasional baths, and their nails should be trimmed regularly. Allowing the nails to grow too much could cause discomfort and, in severe cases, arthritis. Because these dogs are sometimes selected for their small size rather than good health, they can be more susceptible to common Pug health issues. Eye problems often occur, as well as ear issues, skin allergies, mange, and skinfold infections. Like other short-faced breeds, Pugs struggle with breathing conditions. Minor Conditions. What Is a Teacup Pug? Do Teacup Pugs Really Exist? Teacup Pugs are tiny versions of the already small Pug breed. Instead, they are described as a designer breed. Typically described to weigh about three pounds, teacup Pugs are known to the world for their uniquely cute features and sweet nature. Although enchanting, there are a lot of things that you need to know first before you attempt to contact a reputable breeder and purchase one. The appearance, genetic makeup, lifespan, and all other information you may need to use as a guide to fully understand teacup Pugs will be discussed more below. Like every other normal Pug, teacup Pugs have distinctive features that nobody can miss even from a mile away. They have the same compact, mini-muscular, square frame, but just a lot tinier. Their distinct short and flat facial features include their deep facial folds, large round heads, big dark eyes, and wrinkled brows. Interestingly, teacup Pugs can also come in a variety of coat colors! For Pug enthusiasts, it is common knowledge that the only purebred Pug colors recognized by different kennel clubs are black and fawn. These two colors are also exhibited by teacup puppies, but other shades and color combinations exist. Here are the various coat colors you can choose from these tiny bundles of joy: Fawn Teacup Pug Photo from lolatheteacuppug IG Fawn teacup Pugs are the most common and popular coat color among dog owners. Black Teacup Pug Photo from peggie. This coat color has recently been getting more popular since they shed way less than fawn-colored ones due to having a single coat instead of the regular double-coat. Although this coat can be very common among other dog breeds like Chihuahua, Pit Bull, and American Bulldog, brindle teacup Pugs are quite difficult to achieve. This rare variety requires selective breeding and some of the brindle markings make teacup Pugs look more like a striped dog. White Teacup Pug Photo from bosshogthepug IG White is the rarest coat a Pug can have, and this is probably because white is seen as a problematic color that comes with many health issues. Do these coat colors change over time? Their natural brown eyes can range from a medium to dark brown. Some may develop a rich brown color that they can almost appear as black eyes. Regardless of how they look, teacup Pugs will have their own unique and charming traits. Miniature Pug vs. Are you confused between teacup Pugs and miniature Pugs? Most websites would use these words interchangeably, but are they right? Pug enthusiasts confuse the two as the same variety, but they are quite different from one another. This toy dog, although smaller than a regular Pug, is heavier than teacups. When full-grown, they can stand at about 6 to 12 inches tall and weigh about 10 to 20 pounds. Their clownish trait can also be reduced to a certain level if they get more sassy traits from their Chihuahua parent. Teacup Pug Photo from peggie. However, you have to be aware that Chugs can look so much like a teacup Pug at birth, so some breeders sell them saying that they are teacups. Also, the average full-grown size of a teacup Pug can weigh only about two to five pounds due to its dwarf-like stature. They are visibly tinier at birth than regular-sized Pugs, and most will stay as dwarf-sized even when they reach their maturity. In fact, fully-grown teacup Pugs can be as small as six inches tall and they weigh about three to five pounds. They are relatively smaller than regular-sized Pugs, weighing between 13 and 20 pounds and standing at about 10 to 14 inches. The teacup Pugs weight classification is even smaller than that of any toy group dogs recognized by kennel clubs such as the American Kennel Club AKC. So, how do teacup Pugs get this small? This feature contributes to the likelihood that they develop breathing difficulties and eye injuries. And just like standard Pugs, teacups also inherited this predisposition to some health issues. As mentioned earlier, teacup Pugs are created from either breeding a standard-sized Pug to a smaller-sized one or breeding two runts of the litters together. This is the reason why most teacup Pugs have a genetic and hereditary condition called dwarfism. This technique is highly discouraged among reputable breeders because everyone knows that it can be dangerous for any animal. As for the exact year where they first existed, there are no documents that can prove or explain such. The hunch of many canine scholars is that they have been long existing naturally, but breeders only started purposefully producing them at the turn of the century. Breeding two undersized Pugs will greatly increase any chance of complications. For instance, there will be an extra risk for female Pugs when they whelp about a couple of puppies given their already small size. Some unethical breeders are also facing issues of fraud due to producing mini-Pugs and labeling them as teacups. There are also some teacups that are products of abusive breeding. Many animal rights groups are still fighting to eradicate this illegal business, but unfortunately, they are still thriving because many pet owners patronize them. No teacup variation of any breed is recognized and accepted by kennel clubs and other major dog breed clubs. According to these kennel clubs, the Chihuahua is the tiniest dog breed that they recognize, weighing only six pounds. Remember that teacup Pugs were primarily created for the convenience they bring to their pet owners and are not meant to pass kennel clubs standards. Despite this, their sweet nature and good humor will not change. Their temperament. Teacup Pugs really make good family pets. For overall temperament and behavior, they are very versatile and they can live easily anywhere. In any case, you can have a happy teacup Pug as long as you regularly feed them, engage them in exercise playtime, and give them enough love and attention. As adorable as they may look, the size of a teacup Pug poses a major risk to their health. This is why their average lifespan is only between 6 to 10 years. I would suggest that before you get yourself a teacup Pug, you get to know all of these possible health issues that can come with them: Entropion: It is common for all Pug varieties to develop an inward rolling of the inner part of their lower eyelid. At worst, the damage to their corneas can lead to blindness. Hyperthyroidism: One common symptom of this is their slowing metabolism that virtually impacts every other organ in their body. This causes slow heart rates, high blood cholesterol, and even gain fat deposits into the corneas of their eyes. Hip Dysplasia: Although rare, teacup Pugs can still be prone to this genetic disease that involves an abnormal hip and joint socket. If not treated, this makes them more prone to arthritis. Pug Myelopathy: Unique to pugs, this spinal condition can gradually progress to paralysis of their rear limbs due to complex lesions. Hypoglycemia: With poor blood sugar levels, hypoglycemia can be considered an underlying health issue for Pugs that can cause further medical problems to ensue. They also have trouble keeping themselves warm in cold areas. Due to their shortened jaws, their teeth can be overcrowded and cause your dog to develop dental and gum problems. As you can see, teacup Pug comes with a long list of major health risks that can easily cost you thousands of dollars for medical bills. This is why you should be aware of these possible health issues before you decide to get one. This is why it can be easy for any new buyer to get doped by illegal breeders. As for other expenses, caring for a teacup Pug can actually cost you way less in the long run given their small stature. However, you should also expect high veterinary bills that can cost you thousands of dollars if ever they catch any major health problem because their small size also makes it more difficult for vets to treat. Their puppies come with a two to four-year health guarantee with their health record, veterinary well check sheet, sample dog food, chew bone, and full puppy care instructions. Posh Pocket Pups — This is an online boutique that can deliver you true and high quality micro teacup pups. They also offer a one-year puppy health guarantee that ensures you either get a new teacup Pug or get a full refund if your teacup Pup develops any health problem in their first year of your care. There are times that they have available teacup Pugs that are up for adoption. What does this mean? Here are four tips that can teach you ways to care for your new small-sized dog like the teacup Pug: Plan their fiber-rich diet. Veggies, fruits, eggs, and chickens are the best options when choosing their food. Look for ingredients that are high in omega-3 fatty acids and contain Karo syrup, which is an ingredient that helps prevent low blood sugar. Ensure that you take your teacup Pug for daily minute short walks, around six miles a week. Give them additional attention. Teacup doggies require more attention than their bigger counterparts. Spend more time playing with them and make sure that you give them enough love and attention by giving them treats or holding them closer to you more often. If you have children, be cautious about the way your teacup is being handled. With their fragile nature, it can be quite difficult to care for them since they will require more attention than larger dogs. Children under eight years of age can also pose a big problem so be cautious of children when handling teacup Pugs as they can easily suffer from bone breakage. Kennel clubs do not classify miniature Pugs and teacup Pugs as hypoallergenic. Do Teacup Pugs Shed? Teacup Pugs shed heavily. As year-round shedders, they can leave pieces of their coat that can go anywhere from your clothes, floors, and other places they went to. This can be reduced by feeding them healthy foods and regular grooming. Do Teacup Pugs Bark a Lot? Another issue with teacup Pugs is their excessive barking, but you can train them to minimize this habit early on in their life. However, some owners may still find this behavior irritating. At most, they can weigh up to five pounds. Teacup Pugs are bred to get this extreme trait of staying small forever even as they go through adulthood. Teacup Pugs are real and they are too fragile for this world. They have such a long list of possible major health risks and caring for them can take a toll on you since they require much attention and eyeing. They can also get very expensive! Also, only get a teacup Pug from a reputable breeder to ensure that they can live healthy during most of their lifespan. Teacup versions of already small dog breeds include Pugs, Pomeranians, Shih Tzus, and Chihuahuas, amongst others. Puppies are often photographed sitting inside of teacups, to showcase their small size. But how are these teacup versions made? There are a few ways. Teacup dogs are usually produced by breeding runts together to create the smallest version of the dog possible. Unfortunately the small dogs chosen to breed are sometimes also not the healthiest. They may be small because of a birth defect or other medical condition, and that can then be passed on to their offspring. Health risks for tiny versions of dogs can be significant, and breeders often take these risks because they want to rake in the big bucks. Another way a teacup dog might be bred is by mixing smaller breeds. For example, a teacup pug might have a small amount of chihuahua in them, to ensure a smaller size. What is a Teacup Pug, or a Toy Pug? What is the pug breed standard? Glad you asked. What is a very small pug called? In the United States and Canada, the pug breed standard only has one classification — standard. However, people do use certain words to describe purebred pugs that happen to be on the small side. They often just have one goal: to breed smaller and smaller dogs. Common health risks that come with breeding small versions of dogs include: Hydrocephalus: also known as water on the brain, hydrocephalus is a build-up of fluid in the brain. Hypoglycemia: a condition where the blood sugar glucose level is lower than normal. Collapsing Trachea: Tracheal collapse is when rings of cartilage in the trachea begin to flatten out, making it difficult for air to get to the lungs. Patella Luxation: or sliding kneecap, is a condition where the knee cap rides outside the femoral groove when the knee is flexed. They can also be prone to seizures, respiratory issues, and liver shunts. These health issues and complications result in higher vet bills, and dogs with shorter life spans.
