We then gained our newest addition, Diva and boy does her name fit her well! We were overjoyed with our family fur-members and wanted to provide joy to other families. That is when we decided we wanted to breed Boxers and bring love and happiness to other families, just as our Boxers brought love and happiness into ours. Our family continued to grow, as did our happiness and joy! We now have 8 boxers and one spayed boxer mix. All are our fur-kids come first and foremost! The first show was a UKC show. Captain and Bailey competed and had a blast. Captain obtained his UKC Champion. Bailey obtained all of the points needed and is now only waiting for her competition wins. We cant wait to call her a UKC Champion too! Captain gained his National, International and Honors Ch. At only 3 months old, Dawn made it to Best of Show during this show! It is the best feeling in the world to see the smiles on their faces and their eyes lighting up! They all had a blast! Captain obtained his Honors Bronze Champion Title. Both girls did well. They both won first in each of their classes and Dawn won Reserve Best of Breed in all four shows. We were unable to attend due to puppies being at home, but didnt want the girls to miss out on a great weekend of showing! Dawn got first in class for all three shows. Benelli got first in class all three shows. Benelli also got Reserve Best Female in two show and Best female in one show. For being at a show without mama and dad, the girls did so good! This is a life-threatening condition where the stomach expands and twists, and is most common in large, deep-chested dog breeds. The post went viral, worrying pet parents everywhere. But there is no evidence to support this claim. Nobody knows what, precisely, causes bloat, but some believe drinking a lot of water with or without ice too quickly to be a risk factor. The short answer is that eating ice will not kill your dog. More realistic ice-related dangers for dogs who like to chomp ice cubes aren't nearly as dramatic. Nichols says that it's possible for ice cubes to damage the enamel on dog's teeth. So Wait.Not so fast. Next » by docrad on 26 May - I have been on a quest to find a nice german shepherd. You would think that would be easy. I was referred to Mittelwest Kennels in Illinois. With that price in mind, I pictured in my head a really nice kennel. Entering the property with the gate that let you in was impressive, what was not impressive was the kennels itself. After getting a tour of the kennels I noticed that there were dogs sitting in crates in the barn but I did not see any empty kennel runs. I asked about that and was told their kennel was being cleaned, there were not any empty kennels to clean. During my 2 hour visit I seen things that did not impress me. Some dogs did not have water and were panting heavily, fur was a mess. When I returned home I checked her web site out, I should have done this prior to going. There are several litters, lots of litters coming soon. Where are all these puppies going to live? So, can anyone give me their experiences with this kennel and lead me to others if they think I should go somewhere else. I assume you are looking for a German showline? You could also try to find out if there is a local GSD breed club or an all breed club in your area. Many times they can refer you to member breeders. I breed working lines, but I "know" both of these women well enough to recommend them and their dogs.Either is easily found online. When I first got him I was going there on a regular basis for training and never saw a bunch of dogs sitting in crates. I started going again for ring training and again haven't seen that. My boy is from Mittelwest but he actually was born at the dam's owne'rs home and was with them till I got him at 2 months old. It seems to me that all the owners want are the puppies from these poor animals and don't give a damn about the animals themselves!! Isn't that being nothing but a glorified puppy mill???? The cruelty is unforgivable!! I'd love to see the owners in crates, without water, living in their own waste and being bred over, and over!! As 2 Investigator Pam Zekman reports, the outbreak happened this year with dogs from a local breeder. Puppies for sale at Mittelwest Shepherds in Wonder Lake are either bred on site or imported from Germany. And my only thought he was gonna die. Mittelwest's owner Julie Martinez blamed the German breeder that the puppy originally came from. It's not something that could have been foreseen," said Martinez. McHenry County Animal Control reports include a violation warning for "failing to provide veterinary care" for two puppies. It gave the breeder 24 hours to take the puppies to a veterinarian. They were taken to the vet and tested positive for parvo the next day. Experts say getting puppies with parvo symptoms to a vet fast is critical because it's highly contagious. Seven puppies in one litter all died at Mittelwest this year. In all CBS 2 can confirm more than a dozen puppies got parvo. In February, the Illinois Department of Agriculture placed a quarantine on the facility that meant none of the dogs or puppies could be moved or sold. That quarantine was lifted 18 days later by the Department of Agriculture due to the puppies "not showing any signs or symptoms" and Mittelwest "being cleaned and disinfected. But, Megan Swiechichowski purchased her puppy after the quarantine. Three days later it tested positive for parvo. Martinez says she believes Megan's puppy got a false positive, but agreed to pay for the vet bills and refund half Megan's money and all of the Barry's. She also says she routinely provides vet care. Inspectors revisited Mittelwest last week and found no evidence of parvo. More from CBS News.

Yes, F2 Doodles with an improper coat can still shed. Shedding is a natural process for dogs, and it is not determined by whether or not they have an improper coat. The amount of shedding Doodles experience can be influenced by a variety of factors, including their coat type, length, texture, and thickness, as well as their genetics, overall health, and environment. Doodles with an improper coat may shed more or less than other Doodles, depending on the individual dog and their specific coat characteristics. Proper grooming and care, including regular brushing, bathing, and feeding a high-quality diet, can help reduce shedding in all types of Doodles, regardless of their coat type or whether or not they have an improper coat. If you own a Bernese Mountain Dog, you might have noticed that they shed moderately throughout the year due to their thick double coat. Shedding becomes more significant twice a year, during seasonal changes. To minimize shedding, it's essential to brush your Bernese regularly. However, keep in mind that Bernese Mountain Dogs shed more heavily during specific times, such as when they are pregnant or nursing or when they are puppies. F2 Doodles A second-generation hybrid doodle breed that results from crossing two first-generation Doodle breeds is referred to as an F2 Doodle. A Doodle is a hybrid dog breed produced by crossing a Poodle with another dog breed like a Bernedoodle or a Golden Retriever. The offspring from this crossbreed is called "F1" Doodles, meaning first generation. F2 Doodles may have varying appearances and temperaments as it is unpredictable which traits they will inherit from their parents. It is important to note that not all Doodle breeders use a standardized naming convention for their litters, so the term "F2 Doodle" may not always be used consistently or accurately. However, the overall coat type of this dog is dependent on the combination of this dog's genotypes at the L, Cu, and IC loci. This dog does not carry the mutation for weak furnishings. Therefore, this dog can produce puppies with improper coat if bred with a dog that carries one or two copies of the mutation for improper coat IC. It's worth noting that the texture of their coat has no impact on their puppy's demeanor, only their charming appearance. Understanding the Science and the Physical Presentation For starters, we will share a photo of a dog with a furnished coat. The key difference in a dog with a furnished coat versus one with an unfurnished coat is the facial hair. Dogs with furnished coats have that signature doodle hair all over, including their face. This is just one of the things to consider when adopting a furnished doodle of any sort. One thing to note is that the curly coated gene does not indicate furnishing or the lack thereof in a Bernedoodle. How do we know if a puppy will be furnished or unfurnished before their coats are finalized? We do genetic testing on our puppies for full transparency and so that all of our adopters know what they will be getting in their new addition. As we mentioned, the furnishing gene only impacts the bearding and facial hair of your puppy. Unfurnished puppies have a smooth face. In Bernedoodles, this greatly resembles their Bernese Mountain Dog ancestry. We have included a photo of a Bernese Mountain Dog for an example. Notice how the dog to the right has a smooth face?
