So we usually have a good selection of very high quality puppies. View Our Available Puppies! Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. She is very sweet and loving. She is very intelligent and learned to bring in the newspaper in one session. We are attending puppy obedience classes and she does very well. She knows her commands but sometimes decides she's going to think about it first. She sits there and looks you right in the eye while she contemplates. She loves people but can be wary of some strangers. She is a great watchdog and is protective of her turf and her family. I see the traits of both her English Bulldog mother and her Australian Shepard father in her. At 4 months she weighed 24 pounds so she's going to be a big girl. Her looks attract a lot of attention from strangers and she generally loves it. We are working to overcome fear of some loud noises and my plan is to make her a therapy dog at our local children's hospital. She is a great dog! It is a cross between the English Bulldog and the Australian Shepherd. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. He is 1 month and 2 weeks old in this picture. He is very good with children and is really loving toward everyone in my family. He is very active. Since he is a puppy almost every 3 hours he passes out and goes to sleep. He does have a rather insatiable appetite and loves to be in tall grass on his back. It is a cross between the American Bulldog and the Australian Shepherd. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up allbreeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. She is happy, healthy and very playful. She has already learned to come when called , sit and to lie down , she walks well on a leash and stays to my immediate right side. For such a young puppy I feel she is doing wonderful. She is given no less than 1-mile walks thru the week and when the weekends allow for it she is taken on a 3-mile hike thru the local park's nature trails. She is timid and very cautious of strangers but amazingly loving towards them once they kneel to her level. She watches Ceasar daily and sits attentively throughout the whole show! We have experienced, like most puppies, a chewing stage—Ceasar's advice to continue to provide a chewable alternative with positive reinforcement has helped a great deal. The test came back that he was a mix between only 2 breeds: Australian Shepherd x American Bulldog. He was approximately 5 months old by his teeth. He had a lot of serious behavior problems. Over the past three years he has overcome many of them. We are still working on a few. He doesn't like strangers. He is very OCD about some things like fire and light. He will not go into a closed crate ; it has to be open wire. He has anxiety when riding in the car; this has improved with work and I am still working on it as we like to take him in the car with us to the park and fishing. He loves trout fishing. He seems to enjoy it as much as we do. He doesn't jump or pull on the leash. When I stop to talk to people he just sits and waits, partly because he really doesn't want attention from other people and partly because he is trained to do so. When, after introductions, other people pet him he is well mannered unless they encourage bad behavior. Some people get him too excited and end up with him in their lap. He has good house manners and can be left home alone with my other pets, cats and dogs loose in the house. He gets along well with my other pets. However, he doesn't like strange animals to come into our yard. He is very protective of family and pets that belong here. He is better with strangers when he is not on the home territory. I feel he is still a bit off-balance because of whatever happened to him in the first five months of his life before he was thrown out. Our first few months were interesting to say the least and we worked with his behaviors. I did not need to own a third dog but I felt that if he was in the wrong hands his life would be worse or may even come to an end. I have always said I know why they threw him out. He is a dog that needs an experienced dog owner. My poor old Spinone and Yorkie just have to deal with him. I will say that he learned quickly that I would not tolerate him responding to the Yorkies sassy attacks and he just ignores her now. She is totally brainless and he accepts that. He just bumps into her by accident when he forgets himself. I just try to use routines in the day that prevent him from knocking her down by separation during his excited times. I always make him last at meals and when going out to bathroom; this really helps. He can be so gentle it is amazing. He and the first kitten are best buds and sleep together often. We got a second kitten from the breeder and he is really good with both cats which are indoors with him. We have 2 feral cats outside and he understands they are ours and is good with them. I have an older indoor cat who hates everyone and everything except me and he just avoids her. He is not good with stray cats that come into our yard. He will chase them but if they leave the yard he doesn't follow any further. Stray dogs—it is interesting, our neighbor has a Pug and Pomeranian and he is scared of them if they come into our yard. He wants in the house and away from them. Go figure. They are loud, agressive and obnoxious little dogs. Is it more like the Australian Shepherd or the Bulldog? Those are the questions we will try and answer below. Continue reading below to see pictures, videos, and learn more about the beautiful Australian Shepherd Mix. There are a lot of folks who think that the breed originated from the Basque region in Spain where they were used by shepherds. The thought is that those shepherds emigrated to the West Coast of the United States via Australia and brought their dogs with them. One theory as to where they got their name is that they were named for the imported sheep that they herded. The original breeders were Ranchers in Boulder, Colorado, who then began to sell and distribute the dogs all over the West. Back when dogs such as this were used primarily as working stock, shepherds were much more interested in dogs' working abilities than their appearance. As a result, over time, shepherds interbred dogs that they believed would produce better workers for the given climate and landscape. The landscape played a large role in how the dogs looked, In the eastern U. Europe is where most of those breeds came from, so the existing breeds and their offspring worked well there. However, different dogs were needed In the American West, as the conditions were much different from the East. Spanish flocks of sheep, known as the Churra were introduced for food. The shepherds brought over Spanish dogs that proved capable for their job in the wild and dangerous territory. These dogs were highly valued for their ability to herd and protect from predators on the open range. Selective breeding for many generations focused on aspects of the dog that enabled it to function as an effective stockdog in the American West. It had to handle severe weather; have plenty of speed, athleticism, energy, and endurance; and be intelligent, flexible, and independent; while remaining obedient. Bulldog History: The Bulldog is a breed with a characteristically wide head and shoulders. There are generally thick folds of skin on a Bulldog's brow; round, black, wide-set eyes; a short muzzle with characteristic folds called a rope or nose roll above the nose; hanging skin under the neck; drooping lips and pointed teeth, and an underbite with an upturned jaw. They are ideal for dog parents who need a loyal, active pup at their sides. This is a cross between the relentlessly loyal, often silly American Bulldog and the hardworking, energetic Australian Shepherd. For experienced, confident dog parents, this breed is sure to only keep growing loyal fans. The Australian Shepherd originated as a herding breed, but is often found today performing in agility or simply as part of an active family. However, their playfulness and love for their families shines through in their personalities. Still, there are millions of dogs waiting for homes in shelters. When looking for a specific breed, make an effort to adopt from a shelter or rescue. Thus, shelters may not recognize them and simply list them as a mixed breed. Read on for a detailed list of characteristics of the American Bull-Aussie. Contrary to popular belief, the suitability of dogs who adapt well to apartment living goes beyond its size. Apartment dwellers have a myriad of dog breeds to choose from as potential companions, with various factors to consider. Some large breeds can adapt well to apartment living and have lower activity levels. Others may require more space and possess higher energy levels. On the other hand, certain small dog breeds with abundant energy can still find contentment with indoor playtime or brisk walks. However, when selecting a dog that adapts well apartments, it is essential to prioritize your neighbors. This makes them less suitable for apartment living. We do know the history of its parent breeds, however. The American Bulldog has been in the United Sates since the 17th century. Their ability to catch feral cattle and pigs made them popular with farmers and many became farm dogs. They have since been brought back from the brink of extinction. The Australian Shepherd actually got its start in Europe a few hundred years ago in a region between France and Spain. The native Basques named their favorite herding dog after nearby mountains. The Pyrenean Sheppard, which is still around and recognized by the American Kennel Club, were the original breed of the Australian Shepherd. Many Basques immigrated to Australia in the early s, taking their beloved herders with them. The breed was refined by crossing with Collies and Border Collies. American Bull-Aussie Characteristics The American Bull-Aussie will have physical traits from each of its parents, so while some traits will be unknown until they are born, two things they will have are long tails and short ears that fold over at the top. Their coats are short with stiff hair that can be white, cream, brown, or brindle. There is a wide range of size possibilities with the males growing to be somewhere between 19 — 25 inches and 70 — pounds. They do, however, make a great family pet. They are a playful, affectionate, and calm breed that enjoy playing with children. Highly intelligent, they are protective of their family, and while they are not usually dog aggressive, it is still a good idea to have them trained and socialized at an early age. There are some maintenance tasks that will need to be done on a regular basis, but not frequently. The main focus of care is with the activity levels for the American Bull-Aussie. Dream is full of muscle, thicker boned and a very masculine. He thinks nothing of running through the bushes for a game of tag and teasing the ladies presenting them with a toy that he will quickly take off with. Dream loves to play and do anything that will elicit praise and excitement from you. Dream seems to get great pleasure from executing the perfect sit or down on command, to receive praise for a job well done. Dream enjoys weight pulling, lure coursing, obedience, rally, basically anything I want him to try. Dream is from the old Cadbury lines who are no longer and we hope to combine their Beauty with our Sweet, Calm temperaments, to achieve the best of both worlds, producing Total Poodles. May Dream at 10 years of age!! Poor Dream.Even shaved bald this boy is gorgeous. We have decided to offer Dream to brown breeding programs. Because we find Browns really do need the qualities Dream is producing Dream would be ideal for someone wishing more "substance", muscle, boning, depth and width of chest shoulder lay back and of course "proper" rear angulation without being weak or sickle hock VERY rare today Dream's movement is probably his best feature. He covers a LOT of ground, flowing so effortlessly smoothly with straight top line, and takes people's breath away with his amazing movement. Dream has also produced those elusive Dark brown Eyes and Dark very thick dark brown coats. His coat is so thick and ears grow so fast, it is just easier for me to keep him shaved bald All above traits he has passed on to his Champion and Grand Champion offspring: Mira , Daisy , Lily Oscar and Mocha are fine examples. Dream has produced puppy litters. Our Browns tend to be more "muscular" than what you would typically see at a dog show and for sure have loads more boning than the average chicken boned poodle you may meet. This is because our Browns are Working Dogs, and must be physically capable to work. This is very difficult to have achieved and took years to develop. Our pups "may" get a sprinkle of grey hairs through their coat as they mature, and may even lighten on their muzzle or tail area when they age. There really is no guarantee on colour. We do have the darkest browns, with substance, that you will find in the "world". Temperament : Our Browns are sweet natured and calm. All our poodles have calm laid back temperament. NO anxious, hyper pacing or barking. Our Browns love to be with you in the same room or on the couch beside you cuddling during a movie. I use my browns as my jogging partners as they are taller and able to do 6km with a good pace with me without any stress or strain and they actually look forward to it and enjoy the activity. Browns and all poodles will actually do any activity that pleases you as that is just the breed's nature. Our Browns are the darkest browns you will find in the world!! Well we don't, and thanks to our Foster homes, helping us out you don't have to either! Our Quest for brown was a long one. We bought and re-homed many in our search for a dark brown that was calm and laid back, that would produce puppies we would be proud of, and know that we could in good faith, place in pet, obedience and therapy homes. There was no way I would produce unhealthy, or hyper brown poodles, so our standards were very high. This cost us financially, emotionally, and took many years. I could not find browns like what I wanted to own, or produce so I waited and kept searching for over 5 years. I can also only house "3" Standard Poodles, so it made the journey even more difficult. Our Story A house is not a home without a Standard Poodle. As you already know, my name is Wendy. My older sister Holley and I were born in the sand hills of North Carolina and have lived here all our lives. Most of the time when we were children, it was just Cindy my Mom, and the two of us. My mama accepted Christ as a young teenager. Holley and I were blessed to have accepted Christ as our personal Savior at a young age. We also attended and graduated from Christian schools which was another way my mom wanted to assure us of a happy future, with Christ at the center of our lives. Mama saw to it we had every type pet we wanted from parakeets and ferrets to horses. She also made sure we learned the huge responsibility of taking care of them. We learned at a very young age the importance of good cleaning practices, feeding habits and medical care to assure that our pets were all happy and healthy. When Holley was a young teenager and I was about ten we raised and sold rabbits, hamster and mice to local pet stores. We did this to help mama support our horse-showing hobby. The miracle of birth and the sadness of death was a part of our everyday lives. Although things were not perfect in some areas of our lives, this was an amazing, blessed way to grow up. This allowed her to have the biggest desire of her heart, which was to stay at home with Holley and me. This decision allowed her to have a very successful career with an ample income to provide for us. Into the shop one day walked a beautiful pair of black Standard Poodles. It was a mother and her son. Venus, the mother, was a gorgeous, loving, elegant, and petite Standard Poodle. Her son, Keegan, on the other hand, still just a puppy, was a huge combination of fun, personality, intelligence and striking good looks. We were surprised that we fell in love with the Standard Poodle and the Westie, because our favorite breeds had always been the Collie and Sheltie mini collie. Mama groomed Keegan and Venus every few weeks and also trained Keegan. As a result the two were in the shop and in our home on a regular basis. Keegan would come and stay just because we loved him. We grew to love their more confident, protective nature and large size, in comparison to the Shelties. A huge plus in comparing the breed to the Collie, was no shedding or odor. These qualities and the intelligence and loyalty of Keegan and Venus, convinced us this was a breed worth sharing with everyone. This was not always easy for my mom, as a single parent, or for us, as two young girls. But we had lots of support and help from our family, friends, and great employees. We drew most of our strength and wisdom from our Lord and Savior. He was a tall, slender, gentle giant with green eyes and dark hair and was only 16 and Holley only .He became our right hand man and we depended on him during some difficult and trying times. They would become husband and wife after Holley graduated from high school in .Mom met a wonderful man, David! He soon became her husband and the spiritual leader of our family. What a blessing he was then and continues to be. He loved babies of any type, preferably, human, but also loved the horses and puppies. With his amazing sense of humor rubbing off on all of us, work sometimes felt like play. I started flying lessons and thinking about my future. I started praying that God would let me soon meet my husband to be. While taking flying lessons God answered my prayers. I met the man of my dream…Blake. He had blue eyes and dark hair. He was handsome and soft spoken.
It is a cross between the Boxer and the German Shepherd. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. Full of life and always wanting attention, I never leave her behind. She is very sweet and a great cuddle buddy, but this goes without mentioning her evil side. She has a mind of her own but as long as you speak to her as an equal , she will never leave your side. Very friendly and plays great with other dogs big and small. He also plays great with our three cats. He loves rides in the car and truck. I found her over the internet and fell in love with her picture. I drove 30 miles to go get her. She's had her tail docked. But she still likes to chase her stub even though she can't reach it. I've seen her go after it for awhile though. And when she's excited her whole body shakes. She's a sweet puppy and her best friend is my one year old son. I noticed that Boxer-Shepherds aren't a popular hybrid, but I think I've come across one of the best breeds that will ever have existed. She's in great health. She's 4 years old in this picture. She loves to run around sometimes, but most of the time she lays around. She is .She has another dog friend named Biskit, which they get along okay but do fight lot. Nothing serious though. Offer Positive ReinforcementAvoid food treats. Provide positive reinforcement to support proper behavior. The moment it arrives home, teach it simple house rules. Show your dog where this will sleep and where it will find its food and water bowl. Be patient, and your puppy will surely understand where everything is at. One way is to use the clicker method. The clicker is a small device that gives an audible click, something that your dog will love to hear. The point of the clicker is to give a click if your dog follows your command. You can use the clicker for any trick. Just click the clicker after your dog follows your command and then click this again when you want your pet to repeat the behavior. Clickers are available in most pet stores. Avoid Confusing Your Dog Dogs can be easily distracted. Just a loud noise or strangers can distract them from learning new tricks. So at an early age, train your pup in a quiet environment with no distractions. Avoid confusing your dog at this stage so he can learn tricks fast. Start training your dog indoors and gradually introduce him to the outdoors. You will know that he is ready for outdoor training once he is less distracted to noise and other pets and people. A Boxer German Shepherd dog can be trained to become service dogs and guard dogs. You can ask a professional to train your dog so he can learn obedience training, protection training, attack training and so on. One, this dog will love to be with their masters and will do everything they can to please them. Next, this dog will defend his territory and will guard his family with his life. This dog will also be patient with other dogs and other pets at home. The Boxer German Shepherd should be allowed to socialize with other dogs and people as early as possible. If this is not done, the dog can develop anti-social behaviors and may become aggressive with people or other dogs. Your German Shepherd Boxer pup will grow up to be a well-behaved, loving, happy and healthy dog when you train it early and expose it to people and other animals in your home or community.

Photo: hazel. Their fresh mix of genes creates a healthy dog that is ideal for an active family. Like their Goldendoodle cousins, Irish Goldendoodles are lovable, beautiful and family friendly. The Golden Retriever lends its easy going nature, love of people, playfulness and sturdy bone structure. The Irish Setter adds its lustrous red, low shedding coat, and gives the blend a wavy, teddy-bear look, along with a charming, family friendly disposition and an athletic heart. The Poodle stabilizes the non-shedding feature of the blend, while lending its good health record, keen intelligence, jovial good nature and trainability to the trio. They are trainable, athletic, good natured, and low bark. Irish Goldendoodles need regular outdoor time to run, jump and play, every single day. They thrive with families that enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors. As puppies, all doodles with be more energetic during their first months of life. As with most dogs they will settle into routine as they age and after they are spayed or neutered. Love, time, patience and puppy school is always recommended! All the fur and pom-poms has caused them to sometimes be considered frou-frou. But in reality just a few hours on the trail with a poodle will convince you otherwise. Poodles were the first Gun-Dogs, or Retrievers, bred as long as years ago, and are the great-grandparent to all retrievers since. Standard Poodles are inherently healthy dogs. They are athletic, energetic, playful, good natured, very intelligent, non-shedding and eager to learn. They love the whole family and are exceptionally great with children. Their miniature Poodle cousins were bred as companion or lap dogs for the privileged of Europe in times past. While the the Miniature Poodle maintains the intelligence, lovable nature and looks of their larger Standard cousins, they also possess the temperament of a miniature dog in that they require significantly more time and attention from their humans. Poodles, whether standard, miniature or moyen are wonderful dogs and contribute so much to the desirable characteristics of all doodles. Their natures are bright, sweet, silly and very loving toward the whole family. Today they are making a comeback with better breeding practices and genetic screening, and boy are they wonderful dogs! Irish Setters train well, love people and positively live for their time outside. Its wonderful to watch an Irish Setter out in the fields or along a river as their breed traits are displayed. They crouch, point and dash around joyfully disturbing the birds in the bushes. Setters like Poodles are a soft-mouthed breed, which means that while they were bred for hunting, it was for retrieving only and not to damage what they retrieve. This gentleness is why they make such loving dogs that are suitable for families. Irish Setters are standard sized dogs. At full grown they will weigh lbs and stand 21 inches high or taller at the shoulder. They are a low shedding breed which makes them an ideal to incorporate into the world of Doodles. They were bred as far back as the 17th and 18th century in Ireland from Gordon and Llewelyn Setters. While they were bred for hunting, it was for retrieving only and not to damage what they retrieve. This makes them a soft-mouthed breed and their gentleness is why they make such loving dogs that are suitable for families. Ethical breeding practices and genetic screening, are enabling breeders to create Golden Retrievers with improved health and wellness. The challenge with the Golden Retriever is that they do shed a whole lot, which can be a deterrent for dog loving allergy sufferers. Golden Retrievers are a sturdy and muscular, standard sized dog growing between lbs on average and stand between inches high at the shoulder. They can vary in colour from the light white of the English Cream variety, to the deep red of the field hunters. Still used to this day for hunting and retrieving, their gentle characters and sweet nature make their looks and breed traits a welcome addition to the world of Doodles. This means that our premises, facilities, paperwork, and dogs have been thoroughly inspected by a licensing officer as well as their appointed veterinarian. On completion of their inspection we have been awarded the higher standard. Our priority has always been to breed for both temperament and health as a priority. All our adult dogs have undergone the relevant health tests for their breed and copies of these can be viewed by all prospective puppy owners. Both Marie and Mark are currently studying to OFQUAL Level 3 in Canine Care and Development, this, with over 18 years of experience in breeding dogs means we can assist new owners in all aspects relating to puppy purchase and their on-going care. At home, our dogs have 13 acres to run around on and also enjoy swimming in the lake. We have a secure puppy run which our puppies use once they are old enough to spend some supervised time outdoors. As mentioned above, our priority when deciding on a breeding programme is the health and temperaments of the Sire and Dam. All our dogs are health tested which include both genetic testing and BVA hip and elbow scores where indicated. All our pedigree dogs are KC registered and have many Champions in their pedigrees. The pedigree certificates along with health test certificates can be viewed during visits. We breed puppies who are both F1 and F1b generations. F1b puppies are puppies born from a mating between a pedigree parent miniature or standard KC registered poodle and an F1 Irish Doodle or Golden Doodle. All our puppies are raised in our family home. They are used to children of varying ages and all the usual household noises you would expect in a bustling home. Our puppies can be viewed with mum from 5 weeks of age and we welcome all members of the family. Puppies will leave us for their new homes from 8 weeks of age. Puppies leave us with a contract, puppy information pack, weeks supply of dry food, a toy, and a scent blanket. All our puppies will have received their first vaccination and been micro-chipped. They will have had their nails clipped and will have been wormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. They will be vet checked by our vet and will leave us with a copy of the vets health report. We love to hear how all our puppies are getting on in their new homes and welcome regular contact. We are always here for advice for the lifetime of all our puppies. We are an hour and a half away from St. Feel free to call or text us with questions. Why would an Irish Doodle or a Goldendoodle be a good fit for your family? Whenever our family is out and about with Merry, we always get compliments about how stunning her coat is. Merry is content just sitting next to me or on my lap, as much as a large breed dog can sit on your lap! In fact as I write this, Merry is laying on my feet. Rosy is a loving girl who thinks she is our kid's mom! She also has a beautiful red coat, and we are excited to see her puppies! See our About the Breeders page for more information about us. What makes Rosy's and Daisy's puppies so special? Because of the genetics of the poodle, Rosy's Goldendoodle puppies, Daisy's Irish Doodle puppies, and Tinkerbell's Irish Doodle puppies have hypoallergenic coats. This makes these puppies perfect for people with allergies. Daisy, Rosy, Tinkerbell, and Sebastian are high quality dogs, stunning dogs with great genetics. In other words, a quality dog that is ready to offer many great years of companionship. Hybrid vigor is the outcome when two different breeds of dogs are bred, which results in the stronger traits from each of the parents. If one breed commonly has issues with hip dysplasia and the other breed does not, the offspring are far less likely to develop these issues. As you can imagine, this produces a genetically superior dog when compared with purebreds. See our Puppy Testimonials page and our Puppy Updates page for how the last litter of puppies fit into their new adopted homes. Why buy from us? We are not a large kennel; Rosy, Daisy, Tinkerbell, and Sebastian are our family dogs. Rosy, Daisy, and Tinkerbell have had several litters, and are established breeding dogs. Daisy, Tinkerbell, and Rosy and their puppies sleep in our bedroom, which allows them to get proper socialization as well as ensuring proper care of the puppies. The puppies are handled daily. Rosy, Daisy, Tinkerbell, and the puppies are fed Blue Buffalo puppy food. Merry was born on Christmas Eve, hence her name. For the first few years of her life, she was a family pet and a breeding dog for Windstruck Farms under the care of Niki W. After an accident leaving Niki unable to continue breeding these high quality dogs, Merry came to live with us. She is a sweet dog, and enjoys chewing on rawhides and curling up with her family. She is a wonderful mom, who attentively cares for the needs of her puppies. She is now retired. What is Rosy's story? Rosy was a gift for my birthday. Both of her parents were OFA certified for hips and elbows. Rosy absolutely adores kids, and she is so loving and sweet with our son. She has a gorgeous red coat, and her puppies are beautiful! What is Daisy's story? Daisy is a beautiful Irish Doodle F1 that was born shortly after our son. She is our sweet baby girl who loves to be held and absolutely loves her toys. She loves to run and play, and she loves playing with Rosy and with our son. She has a stunning red coat, and her puppies are gorgeous! What is Tinkerbell's story? Tinkerbell is a beautiful red Irish Doodle F1 that we got shortly after we got Sebastian. She is our energetic and playful girl who loves to be pet and absolutely loves her toys. She loves to run and play, and she loves playing with Sebastian and with our sons. She has a stunning red coat with white markings, and her puppies are gorgeous!

I purchased a pup three years ago after a referral from a friend. I wanted a lab but also a great hunting partner. Milo is the first dog I personally purchased and all this was done over the phone with Tim. When Milo arrived my wife house trained him and Milo trained me in upland bird hunting. I cannot say enough good things about IPL. They were always there to answer any questions. He hunts with verbal commands or whistle. I have customers with my bird hunting business that request to hunt with my lab because of his ability and stamina and refuse to hunt what people here in the south refer to traditional bird dogs. When we are done for the day Milo turns the switch off and is my 5yo daughters best friend. I could go on forever but I know a purchase from IPL was the best decision I ever made for field and home. You can tell they truely care about the dogs and the families they go home with. Our little Khloe is a sweet and spunky puppy that loves to learn and has such an amazing temperament! She loves meeting new dogs and kids. She has also been so easy to train! Erin Morrison Hunting Guide Tim was great! Tim was the only Breeder who returned my calls and stayed in constant communication. Makes me feel extremely comfortable sending my dog back for Gun training in the spring! High quality pup, high quality organization! Stefan Bernardi IPL has to be the best breeder of labs in the world in my opinion. Tom Cink IPL has to be the best breeder of labs in the world in my opinion. Tom Cink Iowa pointing labs is a top notch kennel with above and beyond dogs. He is now 4mnths and is on triple blind water retrieves and will honor retrieves with other dogs. I have trained him myself using positive reenforcement methods. Insanely smart and shocks me everyday with his progress. Doug Douglas I have known Tim for a lot of years and every time I call he is always willing to help! All of his dogs are well taken care of and of course the breeding, exceptional! His breeding and training program can speak for itself! Jake Ballard. Labrador Retrievers have been the most popular dog breed in America for 30 years and that popularity holds for the state of Iowa as well. Because bird hunting is also popular in this state, many Iowa Labrador breeders focus on producing strong hunting and retrieving dogs as opposed to show and pet dogs. Until recently, Iowa was one of the worst states in America when it came to animal welfare laws. While stronger protections were passed in , you should continue to screen breeders carefully before you buy a puppy to be certain you are getting a healthy puppy from a clean, safe kennel. The family who runs the breeding kennel also created a foundation to support individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The dogs they breed come from both show and hunting lines but are specially bred to have good, even temperaments. They are more interested in producing high-quality puppies than a large number of dogs. The Poodle is one of the oldest dog breeds and was originally developed in Germany to hunt waterfowl. The Poodle may have originated in Germany, but they are much-loved by the French. So much so that the Poodle is the national dog of France. The Miniature Poodle is slightly more recent. This Mini version likely originated in France. The Mini Poodle has all of the same characteristics as a Standard Poodle; they just come in a smaller package. The Miniature Poodle is one of the smartest dog breeds. On top of their intelligence, they are also known to have a cheerful disposition and a sensitive nature. They get along great with children. Due to their small size, they can be easily injured by rough play or accidental falls that can happen with younger children. Because of this, they may be better suited to a home with older children. Younger children should be fine as long as they are taught how to properly interact with a small dog and interactions between young kids and puppies are closely supervised. Although they are considered part of the Non-Sporting Group, some facts about Miniature Poodles are that they are versatile and athletic dogs that are also quite playful. Provided they are well-socialized, they get along well with other dogs and tend to do well with strangers. They do tend to be protective of their home and can be suspicious of strangers coming up on the property. They are known to bark to alert you of strangers coming to the house. This makes them a good watchdog, but overall, they are more interested in making friends. This dog breed is highly adaptable. The Miniature Poodle does well in any type of home, including apartments, and fits in with just about any family type. They do well in most climates, but, as with many dog breeds, they are sensitive to heat and extreme cold. Because Mini Poodles are people-oriented, they do not like being left alone and will not handle being left alone for long periods of time very well. Good breeding practices make a big difference in the health of puppies. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to make sure they are not passing preventable issues to puppies. Make sure you ask the breeder about the health and genetic history of both parents and about any health tests or clearances that have been done. Miniature Poodles are highly intelligent, easy to train, and eager to please, which makes them a good fit for owners of any experience level and one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners. They are a people-oriented breed and are sensitive to moods and tones of voice. They do not respond well to harsh training methods or harsh tones as they take it personally, get their feelings hurt, and lose respect for you. A Mini Poodle tends to respond best to consistent training that is fun and focused on positive rewards. A Mini Poodle is one of the fluffiest dog breeds and will have a curly or corded coat that can come in just about any color. Although this dog breed has a low-shedding, hypoallergenic coat, their coat still needs a lot of grooming. They need to be brushed daily to prevent tangles and matting. They should also be professionally groomed every 4 to 6 weeks to keep their coat healthy. Miniature Poodles are high-energy dogs that require a good amount of exercise each day. Daily walks plus some playtime and other activities are usually enough for them. When puppies finish growing and developing, they often enjoy games of fetch and other activities like swimming, hiking, or jogging with their favorite human. Mini Poodles also tend to be great candidates for several dog sports, like agility, tracking, obedience, retriever hunt tests, and more. Just make sure to visit the vet and get your dog cleared for these activities before you jump in. Fully-grown Miniature Poodles usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. Mini Poodles generally live for years on average. The Miniature Poodle was very popular among the French nobility. Featured Miniature Poodle Article.

What is an "original" Australian Labradoodle? The Australian Labradoodle is different from all other labradoodles. Dogs from this cross typically were bred to each other over future generations, whereby the Australian dogs are also know as "Multi-generational" Labradoodles. The resulting labradoodles subsequently have been bred to each other, continuing the multi-generational tradition. Even when the other types of Labradoodles are bred on for generations, the result is not an Australian Labradoodle, as the attributes of the infused breeds were not included in their ancestry. The Australian Labradoodle Club of America was founded exclusively to foster and protect the original Australian Labradoodles that have come directly from Tegan Park and Rutland Manor breeding stock, or their offspring. Our mission is to maintain and improve the quality and soundness of the Australian Labradoodles, and to carefully monitor the further development of the breed. All member breeders are carefully screened to help ensure the future of the Australian Labradoodle. Our member breeders must breed to the highest standards. We have Breeder Mentors to assist member breeders and to help new breeders get off to a good start. If someone in your family has allergies, a multi-generation Australian Labradoodle from Red Desert Doodles should be your first choice. Each of our breeding dogs is fully health tested before they are eligible for breeding. Our puppies all come with a two year health guarantee. Where in the world are our Red Desert Doodles Families? Follow Us On Instagram. In addition, several patterns are allowed, including: White trim. White paws, bib, and tail tip set against another color. Large areas of white on another color. A second color on the eyebrows, muzzle, chest and paws. Each individual hair has bands of light and dark pigment. Narrow irregular stripes of color. Finally, some red Aussie Labradoodles carry the merle gene and have red merle coats. Red Labradoodles can be anything from bright gold to a deep rusty hue, via several shades of warm apricots and marmalades. A caramel Labradoodle can be many shades, from a warm cream color, through to a bright fiery red. Again, the answer is in their eyes and on their nose. Caramel Labradoodles have light hazel eyes, and a brown nose. If that all sounds strange, then the next section will make it all make sense! All Labradoodles also carry a set of genetic instructions to make either black or brown pigment. But not both. So: Labradoodle puppies who make yellow pigment and black pigment are red. And Labradoodle puppies who make yellow pigment and brown pigment are caramel. In either case, the exact shade of their fur varies depending on a range of other genes as well. But the color of their nose always reveals whether their coat is black-based or brown-based, and therefore whether they should properly be described as red, or caramel. Red and white Australian Labradoodle dogs Red Australian Labradoodle puppies with white patches of fur also carry White Spotting genes. There is thought to be a series of White Spotting genes. Alternative options in the series are responsible for white trim markings, particolor white markings, and extreme white markings. Red Australian Labradoodle Temperament So there are some pretty clever genes controlling Labradoodle coat color, but do any of them affect their personality too? The answer to this is apparently not. There is no genetic evidence or even anecdotal evidence that Australian Labradoodle color affects their temperament. In the Labrador Retriever breed, black coats are closely associated with highly skilled working dogs, and yellow coats are closely associated with calm service dogs. This is due to breeders pursuing both of these traits simultaneously, not because they are somehow connected at a genetic level. But, it has always been a trend rather than a rule, and most Australian Doodles are now so many generations removed from their closest pedigree Labrador relative, this trend has been lost. Aussie Doodles are active, friendly, smart and affectionate. They enjoy human company, playtime, and training games. Early socialisation. And meeting their need for physical activity and mental stimulation. Since they were founded in the s, selective breeding has resulted in a Australian Labradoodle population which is genetically much closer to Poodles than Labradoodles. And you might feel like you can see that in either their looks, temperament, or health. This color can do some interesting things! It can fade into at least three distinct, official Labradoodle colors! Go figure!! I have had one of my chocolate girls turn completely Lavender on her body but not the head, then within a year, go completely back to dark chocolate. So, like a good Boy Scout, when you purchase a chocolate Labradoodle, be prepared for anything! All are lovely, but they are almost impossible to predict with any significant degree of accuracy. Once again, be prepared for anything! Chocolate Colors Now we get to the fun part; the color combinations! This is where things get interesting. Partis can come in any color, with either color nose. Some are mostly white, while some have lots of color and less white. The ones that are mostly white are called "Extreme" Partis. The variations are endless and unique, like a snowflake. The colors, such as chocolate, on a parti can change in the same ways that they would on a solid dog. Often confused with "Parti" is a dog with heavy white mismarks or a Tuxedo. White mismarks can be very small or very heavy, or anywhere in-between. The puppy is born either Black or Chocolate and immediately begins to lose the dark color, revealing anything from a cream to a red underneath! The tips of the fur may retain their dark cast, but the dog will present as somewhere on the cream-red spectrum. I have included her picture below showing her in the middle of the changing process. Registration : ALAA.Payments Labrdadoodles require trimming about four times a year. This coat usually requires trimming two to three times a year. All allergy and asthma friendly labradoodles have a coat change from puppy to adult usually between months of age. During their coat change it is recommended that you groom them daily. The coat change can last anywhere from a week to several weeks. This is usually the time when owners decide that their beautiful furry doodle needs a shorter look. Not all Labradoodles are Allergy and Asthma friendly. They have had an extremely high success rate so far! We do recommend that if you have the opportunity to meet one of these wonderful dogs in person that you should check to see if you have any reactions before you make your decision in purchasing your new puppy. We recommend that any family or person who suffers from dog related allergies or asthma should look into a Wool coated Labradoodle as they have the highest success rate. Not all breeders are experienced in selecting coat types so make sure that you find a breeder who not only knows the look but also the correct texture of the coat type you are looking for. Because the breed is still in the development stages we are still are seeing some variations within the three coat types themselves. Also your fleece coats while over all are softer than your wool coats in texture they still have some texture variation within the fleece coat type. The Australian Labradoodle requires varying degrees of grooming depending on their coat type. A light trimming might be required with scissors but usually not. This coat usually requires trimming one-two times a year. The Micro Fine Fleece Supper soft and fine texture in wavy or spiraling coat is an allergy and asthma friendly coat, if kept well groomed. This coat also requires trimming about three-four times a year. The Cotton Wool Super dense curly-straight coat with a softer texture than the original wool or loose wool coats This coat is reminiscent of a giant cotton ball when groomed out and is so dense that it almost keeps it self standing straight up. I would love to talk with you about our puppies or answer any questions you may have!
dry mouth boxer puppies for sale - The puppies are picked up at 8 weeks old and go to their forever family to be trained and live with you for life. Once puppies are weaned the female is then returned to their Guardian family. We feel this will allow for the best care of the girls as they will be one on one with their forever families right from the get go instead of being replaced once they are retired from breeding. A Free puppy adopted through our breeder program is just that, a free lab retriever. In addition, there is compensation for travel to us to return her along with us paying for spaying after she has had her litters. On occasion we run into someone objecting to this program and they recommend that people visit their local shelter to adopt a puppy for free. These puppies need rehoming and we would want to get them into a home as much as the next person. The need for breeding however is still there because not all free shelter dogs have the intelligence to act as a service dog. Something as simple as a shelter dog not being screened for a genetic heart or eye issue may result in a lot of wasted training. If a dog lives for 10 to 12 years, and the shelter dog is 5 years old , training takes a year at least for suitable candidates, then the service can only work until about 8 to 10 years old until they begin to slow down. So, instead of the dog helping their handler for 8 or 9 years, all that training is put in to the dog for just a couple years. Normally this is a cost most people will not incur for such a short time. Read more on this here. You must live within an hour and a half or so or be willing to make the drive to participate in this program. People from Essex county and Windsor, Chatham Kent, Sarnia, London and Elgin county are the best candidates to partner with us and adopt a puppy for free, but living in one of those locations is not mandatory. If you are interested in our free puppy adoption program please specify so when applying as outlined on our contact us page and we will interview you for more information. Space in this program is very limited but also very rewarding as you will be helping us place a Lab puppy into the hands of a veteran or first responder to help them with their daily duties. Ownership is retained by Lucky Labs until the dog is finished breeding even though she will live with her guardian family. Around the age of three-four the mother is retired from breeding and we will pay to have the ownership transferred along with paying an agreed upon amount for the dog to be spayed. We make the first pick of a litter choosing the smartest female to mate in the future. Sometimes there may be two puppies that are equally intelligent, if so you can pick from the two. Either way you get the pick of the litter. You take your puppy home, administer veterinarian care as you would normally getting your Lab vaccinations at the proper times. You keep us informed of vaccinations and if your female comes into heat. Once she is old enough to breed we facilitate that. She is home with you for most of the year only being away to mate with our male for a few days, and to have her puppies. After the first mating we will evaluate the quality of the puppies she made. If they do not meet or are not above our standards to be trained as a service dog we may decide to spay her and sign her over to you. We may also try her with a different male if we feel the characteristics of the different male might make the puppies of a higher quality. In short, if her puppies are exceptional she may have up to 4 litters so we are able to donate the highest quality puppies available to our veterans and first responders. If her puppies are not we may instruct you to spay her and cover the cost. If you feel you can provide an excellent home for one of our best girl puppies, and you would like to contribute to our veterans, police officers, nurses, fire fighters and medics while caring for one of the best breeds of dogs going, then please apply below. dry mouth boxer puppies for sale - Post header Skip post header How much exercise does a French Bulldog need? French Bulldogs are one of the most popular small dog breeds and are known for their playful, adaptable, and affectionate nature, not to mention their big bat-like ears. How much exercise does an adult French Bulldog need? Around 60 minutes of daily exercise is plenty for these pooches. One way you can do this is by having multiple gentle walks daily with plenty of rest in between. PitPat will do it for you. How much exercise does a French Bulldog puppy need? Whilst they may seem like little balls of energy when it comes to walkies, they should be limited to around 5 minutes for each month of their age. So, for example, a four-month-old French Bulldog only needs 20 minutes of total walkies each day. This will help prevent overexercising them, which could cause joint and mobility issues in the long run. At this age, walkies should be spent exploring the world around them rather than a march around the block. Give them opportunities to do lots of sniffing, experience different types of places, and interact safely with new people and animals. As your French Bulldog edges closer to adolescence, the amount of exercise they need will increase. But by how much? Just download the PitPat app to get started. How much exercise does a senior French Bulldog need? As your dog gets older, the amount they need to walk will decrease. But again, by how much? Well, every dog is different, so let them set the pace. And if they look to be slowing down, it might be time to head home. Keep an eye on them, and if you notice them looking stiff, trailing behind, or struggling in any way, start reducing the length of their walks. Why not try some of these? Snuffle mats. English Bulldogs thrive in temperate climates and are sensitive to extreme heat or cold. In hot weather, they are likely to have trouble breathing and overheat, while in cold weather they can chill easily. Dress your dog for walks outside in cold temperatures e. Overheating is a common problem with English Bulldogs, who should be monitored carefully during exercise. Signs of heat exhaustion include heavy, labored breathing and panting; a swollen airway; a buildup of white foam in the throat due to heavy breathing ; vomiting; and a general look of distress. Heat exhaustion can cause death for this breed, so act fast and do the following: Remove your dog from the heat — bring them to a shady area or preferably inside, and turn on a fan. Keep your dog calm by reassuring them with a soft, soothing voice. Cool your dog down however possible — pour cool water on their extremities head, paws, tail ; rub ice around their head or under their tail or armpits; or place them in a cool bath do not use cold water — you risk hypothermia if your dog gets too cold. Take your dog's temperature rectally. A dog's normal temperature is about .Once you have reduced their temperature, take the dog to the vet. English Bulldogs are more susceptible to weak joints and injuries than other breeds due to their heavy weight and short limbs. They also have a high threshold for pain, which means that they may continue to run and play after suffering an injury, further damaging their joints or muscles. If you see your dog limping or exhibiting any other signs of injury, bring them inside to rest immediately or bring them to a vet if the injury seems severe. If your English Bulldog starts to look distressed or exhausted while exercising, stop immediately and have them rest. The breed is known for having irregular energy levels so sudden fatigue is not uncommon. Be sure to give your dog plenty of water and keep them calm during a bout of tiredness. As a breed, English Bulldogs have a comprised anatomy and are more susceptible to a long list of health ailments including dermatitis, hip and elbow dysplasia, heart disease, and degenerative spine disease than other breeds. Schedule regular appointments with your veterinarian and ask for specific advice on diet and exercise to keep your dog at a healthy weight. Your vet can also help you monitor your pet's joint and muscle health, and diagnose conditions like arthritis. Avoid these situations at all cost! It will get them off the couch, allow them to explore the neighborhood while spending quality time with their favorite human, and help to create an inseparable bond between you two. Keeping your Bully cool and comfortable during your walks is a huge priority. But, how do you keep them comfortable and safe? First and foremost. This will put way too much pressure on your Bully's esophagus when they pull. Also because of your Bulldog's thick neck, collars can easily slip off and leave your Bulldog free to run into traffic or other dangerous situation. So, you need a good chest harness.Since their bodies are quite unusual, so finding the best Bulldog harness can take some time. Proper fit and dynamic adjustability are the main keys here. Also, it's crucial that your harness puts NO pressure on your Bulldog's throat area, especially when they pull. Many cheaper harnesses slip forward and up on your Bulldog, making it hard for them to breath when they pull. When it comes to fit, be sure that the harness is light, not overbuilt your Bulldog already has plenty of padding! The harness should evenly dispersed chest pressure, insuring respiration is never hindered. Your Bulldog deserves better! You'll also want a harness that's easily washable and one that is reflective to keep you both safe during night walks. Then it's important that you start an exercise program sooner than later. Start light, walking 5 minutes at a time, a couple times a day. Add one more 5 minute walk each week, allowing your Bulldog to slowly build strength and stamina. Then after weeks, increase frequency and length of each walk. Reward your Bulldog with with more praise than treats, and only with healthy, small all-natural training treats. Exercising your Bulldog not only has physical and mental benefits for them, but also for you. Let's face it, Bulldogs can be high-maintenance, stubborn, and provide us with many behavioral challenges. A good, consistent exercise regime will make your dog happier, more confident, and can help alleviate some of the hyperactivity, biting, chewing, and flatulence your Bulldog may exhibit.Bottom Line: You owe it to your Bulldog to take minutes out of each day, to keep them healthy, happy, and socially adjusted. There's no excuses here. Like we said earlier, not everyone deserves to be a Bulldog parent. Make sure you prove your worthiness to your Bulldog, everyday! Fortunately, the global Bulldog community is growing, and there are some fantastic support groups out there to help you make the right choices for you and your family. Join BorrowMyDoggy now! Get started What is a Bulldog? Instantly recognisable thanks to their amusing appearance punctuated by an abundance of wrinkles and pronounced underbite. How much exercise does a Bulldog need? While he can be energetic at first, after one decent walk a day he likes to spend the afternoon on the sofa around you, guarding against the postman, with his naps punctuated by games of tug and fetch, as well as getting tasty treats out of his Kong! Bulldogs are loving and friendly dogs, though somewhat stubborn in nature. They are loyal companions, albeit loud snorers with a tendency to drool, but you can forgive them these small flaws on account of their affectionate and dependable personalities. Loki is a very friendly dog who loves all the attention he can get. He doesn't really like long walks, but does enjoy playtime in the garden. He makes quite a lot of noise - it's a bit like living with a pig and he snores. As with most dogs, time and patience in training will reap the best rewards for you and your dog. He's in no way naughty, but he's not particularly bothered about obeying commands either. Contact Us Exercise and Your English Bulldog We are going to touch on a topic most bulldog owners should be conscious of, and at times you may worry about: How much exercise should your bulldog be getting? Of course, answers will vary, but regarding English Bulldogs there are concerns other dog breeds may not experience—joint problems, cardiac ailments, and obesity. With shorter legs, and a broad muscular body it is little wonder that hip and knees can be problematic, especially as dogs age. But, many of these conditions can be avoided, allowing your dog to live a long and healthy life. Along with a nutritious diet, exercise is key. And for bulldogs this can be a little more difficult than with other dogs. However, developing an effective exercise plan for your dog is perhaps easier than your slobbering cuddle buddy will let you know. Over exercise Exercise is important, and since this post is about exercising your bulldog, you may wonder why I am mentioning over exercising. After all, can you actually over exercise a dog? Yes, you sure can. However, a casual walk around the block may be more suitable. For english bulldog puppies, while they are a bundle of energy, a walk around the block may still be a little too much. Understanding over exercising is even more important to bulldog puppies who go through multiple critical growth periods where severe and even permanent damage can occur as a result of over exercise. How many minutes a day should my bulldog work out? Routine is good for bulldogs, and much like developing routines in eating habits to control overeating, an exercise routine as a puppy will help your bulldog keep their heart and muscles strong while limiting damage to their knee and hip joints. Limiting playtime before you encourage a slow-down period for your dog can go a long way to teaching your dog about exercise. For example, 30 minutes of playtime outside for an adult before bringing your dog indoors to slow down is a great way to manage an exercise routine. And after bringing your dog inside limit play times to about 10 minutes every couple hours if your dog is aggressively running around and playing. Low Impact Exercise As you can guess, taking your dog to a dog park, or going for a jog around the lake every day is probably too much for your dog. This means focusing on low-impact exercise that may not always mean running around. First, if you know your bulldog will be running around, you will want to consider the ground. Will your dog be running on cement? Crushed mulch? Wood chips? Or, grass? Softer, and more absorbent, ground is better for your bulldog. Bulldogs love to cuddle, gnaw, and roll around with their toys. Providing toys that will encourage your dog to move around, slow down, and roll around can be helpful. Bulldogs love companionship and are one of the friendliest dogs on the planet. Introducing a pal to bum around with is a great way for your dog to get some exercise and companionship. Whether you have other pets at home, or schedule play-dates, having a friend to roll around with is a great way to get exercise and keep your bulldog emotionally healthy as well. Supervision Supervision should always be considered a regular part of playtime. For example, your dog can go from playing without an issue to suddenly wheezing and limping. Remember too, that bulldogs have developed a high pain tolerance over centuries of warrior-like breeding. This means that your dog could be in pain and struggling, but not slow down. This is where constant supervision will help your dog the most. Signs of overheating, limping, and labored breathing are an indication that playtime is over for now. If the concern does not appear to be serious, or has only just begun it is okay to take your dog inside for a little welcomed relaxation. If you see signs of overheating such as an abnormally wobbly walk, falling down in a casual stride, or passing out, then you should contact your vet immediately. Playtime for your bulldog should be fun. The focus on exercise is to develop a strong heart and strong muscles. With a little routine and fun exercise your dog is on their way to a long and healthy life. Since then they have been dedicated to responsible Bulldog breeding and passionate about breeding as well as competitively showing English bulldogs. For this reason, it is important that they get enough daily exercise no matter how much they hate it. But what kinds of Bulldog exercise can your pet have? Exercise and physical activities can help prevent various health issues, including hip dysplasia, heart disease, diabetes, constipation, and heart disease, in your pet. It also improves the functioning of the brain and bone health in your dog while increasing stamina and building up his strength. Your pet is less likely to chew and destroy things, do play biting, or engage excessive barking, as regular exercise provides ample stimulation and the avenue to release the pent-up energy. Being physically active also keeps your Bulldog away from separation anxiety. Here are some types of Bulldog exercise you can let your pet do. Bulldog Exercise Idea 1: Walking Irrespective of their breed, all dogs have an innate drive to explore their surroundings. To satisfy the urge they love to walk around. Make walking a part of your daily Bulldog exercise schedule to allow your dog explore his surroundings while you spend time with him. You may also try walking him on different streets or different villages. This way, he can get to know different surroundings, people, and even other pets while having a good workout. Make it a habit to walk your adult Bulldog 20 to 30 minutes each day to keep your Bulldog in good shape and healthy. Never overexert your Bulldog and make him walk for longer times. Doing so can increase his risk of developing elbow and hip dysplasia. Bulldogs love running around to chase toys and balls and this activity can help him fill his activity needs. However, it is important not to throw a ball or any toy too far to prevent your Bulldog from running too much and too fast. The area where you and your Bulldog play fetch may also play an important role in preventing him from developing hip dysplasia. Some studies suggest that exercising dogs — especially growing puppies —in undulating terrain lessens the risk of hip dysplasia. If you think running in areas like this would benefit your Bulldog, just make sure to throw toys or balls within short distances. This activity also teaches your Bulldog how to socialize and meet new furry friends. You can use a toy tied with a rope or an old rug to play tug of war with your Bulldog. However, make sure your playful activity does not linger to make your dog aggressive. Also, play tug of war with your Bulldog moderately, as your dog is prone to bone and joint problems. Bulldog Exercise: Keynotes Adult Bulldogs need 20 to 30 minutes of exercise every day. Familiarize your Bulldog with new exercises gradually, especially when he is young. When planning to exercise an obese Bulldog, start with short activities before gradually increasing the duration and intensity of the exercise. Always supervise your Bulldog when he is exercising. Consider the weather. Bulldogs are more likely to suffer in hot and humid conditions compared to other dog breeds. It is important to check the weather and temperature before walking your Bulldog or taking him outside. During summer, you may walk your Bulldog during early mornings and late afternoons. Keep your Bulldog hydrated at all times. Never let your Bulldog over-exercise and avoid forcing him to walk when he is already tired. Watch out for signs of overheating or heat stroke in your Bulldog. If you see your Bulldog panting more than the usual, call your veterinarian for immediate instructions on how to care for your Bulldog. Leave a Reply: Leave a comment below and share your thoughts. They are fun, good-natured, and easy to care for. However, to keep them healthy, they do need some regular exercise. Exercise is essential for English Bulldogs to keep them fit and healthy. Like us, regular exercise helps keep them at a healthy weight and build and maintain muscle. However, unlike humans, they need and can only withstand a minimal amount of activity each day. Over-exercising can be just as unhealthy as not getting enough! Bulldogs are prone to hip dysplasia, knee, and various joint issues due to their build. Shorter-legged, heavy-weight dogs are more susceptible to weak joints due to extreme pressure placed on them when running, playing, and even walking. This breed should never be allowed to over-exercise, especially as puppies. There are many critical growth periods throughout puppyhood that too much physical activity can cause devastating… even just once! Caution For Puppies Too much activity for Bulldog puppies poses a risk of irreparable damage to their bodies, causing lifelong pain and health issues. At many points in the first year, or more of life for the English Bulldog puppy, their bones, joints, and even their hearts are in the growing process, which can sometimes leave them vulnerable to injuries. This is very common when it comes to knees and hips. At various stages of growth, one part of the knee may be beginning to form and change shape while another is still growing. As things move and take shape, these areas can become weak and are susceptible to damage. When a puppy is allowed to take long walks or run long distances, this can cause significant problems in these areas as they are not yet physically prepared for this type of activity. Many dog owners have found their English Bulldog puppies in situations where they have been injured simply because they did not understand the importance of limited, low-impact exercise at this age. Exercise Routine An adult Bulldog should follow a strict routine for exercise and activity to keep their hearts and muscle healthy, and not much more than that. How Much Exercise? English Bulldog puppies should be exercised each day but with less intense play. Thirty minutes of playtime together in the backyard should be enough on most days. Read Next: Can Bulldogs Swim? Our adult Bulldogs are allowed to run, jump and wrestle for no more than 10 minutes at a time. Then, we begin to encourage them to calm down for less intensive play for the remaining 20 minutes. Engage your dog in a new game or take a walk through a new area, like a dog park. Just be aware that many dogs are off-leash if you go to a dog park, so you do want to use caution. Supervise All Activity An English Bulldog can easily overheat and also risk playing too hard without realizing that they have injured themselves, as their pain tolerance is exceptionally high. Heat exhaustion should be a significant concern with over-exercising in the summer. The danger here is much more severe than the potential damage to joints with these breeds; hot summer months can be deadly in just a matter of minutes! It is always best to supervise all activities and be watchful for any labored breathing or limping. If you see either of these, you must immediately stop what they are doing and get them back inside to rest, preferably into their night crates. What type of exercise is best for English Bulldogs? Regular, low-impact exercise is best for English Bulldogs. A nice walk of 20 minutes is a good amount for a Bulldog. Related Articles.
