Find out how we get chocolate, black or yellow puppies and what color pups we might get when we mix Labradors of different colors. Strictly speaking, there are only three different types of Labrador color: black Labs, brown Labs usually referred to as chocolate and yellow Labs. These are the three colors recognized and accepted by the Kennel Club In practice, there is a wide range of shades of yellow Labrador color, from palest cream to richest fox red. But what makes a Labrador brown, or black, or yellow. And what about Silver Labradors? Where does this new and controversial coat color come in to play? Where do Black and Chocolate Labradors come from? The information that determines whether or not your Labrador is basically black or basically chocolate is passed on through a pair of genes. Why black is a dominant color: It is normal for dominant genes to switch off, or over-ride, recessive genes. And that is exactly what happens here. A dog with BB genes will be black, because he has no little b gene, the one that gives us a brown coat. But a Bb dog will be black too, because if the dominant black gene is present, it switches off the brown gene. How chocolate Labradors are made: Even though a dog inherits a little b gene, the dog will only appear brown if no black gene B is present at all. Two black genes BB gives you a black Labrador One of each Bb also give you a black Labrador Two brown genes bb gives you a chocolate Labrador Remember that the black dominant gene always switches of the brown gene, so only the dog at the bottom will actually look brown. Generation after generation of black dogs can continue to have only black puppies if dogs with the Bb gene are only ever mated to dogs with BB genes. Remember, the dog in the middle of our list above will look black, but pass the brown gene on to about half of all its offspring. But things are never that simple are they? Because of course some Labradors are neither black nor brown. The genetic information that creates a yellow coat comes from another pair of genes altogether. And these genes have a different kind of power. The result is a yellow dog But little ee is recessive, and if the dominant E gene is present, it switches off the masking gene. It only takes one big E gene to do this. So the dog will only appear yellow if no big E gene is present at all. There are three possible combinations of eee gene that a dog could inherit. There are nine different possible combinations. Nine different possible Labrador genotypes! The chart below lists them genotype is the genetic makeup, phenotype is the appearance of the dog. Do Labrador Dog Colors Matter? The three different shades of Labrador are often associated with different roles. The yellow Labrador has become associated with Seeing Eye dogs, the black Labrador with hunting and retrieving work and the chocolate Labrador with pet homes and the show ring. These dogs tend to come from working lines, and have a more orange hue to their coats. They are still classed however on Kennel Club documentation as yellow Labradors. Fawn Labradors In recent years some people have begun to refer to yellow Labradors as fawn Labradors. If your Lab pup color is slightly darker than the traditional yellow, but not as orange as a Fox Red Labrador, you might well refer to him as being a Fawn Labrador. However, this is not an official Labrador color, nor indeed is it really one which is referred to by Labrador breeders in the way that Fox Red now is. Black Labradors Black Labradors have long been favoured as gundogs, but also make wonderful pets, companions and agility dogs too. They are the most common color of Labrador, due to the way in which their genes are inherited. Chocolate Labradors Chocolate Labradors make great family pets, as well as playing a role in the Show Ring. In America, chocolate Labradors are quite firmly established in hunting lines. However, it is worth bearing in mind that in the UK, Chocolate Labradors have only recently been achieving awards in the field. Start with the undercoat, and then brush the top coat. Blonde Labradors will shed when the seasons start to change in the Fall and Spring. During this time, you should brush them daily. This will help remove excess hair, and speed up the process. This is the best way to avoid everything in your home turning brown due to Lab hair. Active adult Labradors will need to eat around calories per day. It is best to feed them regular dog food twice per day as adults. How easy to train are Blonde labradors? Blonde labradors are considered to be relatively easy to train, especially when compared to other dog breeds. This is due to their high intelligence and their eagerness to please their owners. However, it is important to note that Blonde labs may be a bit stubborn at first and can easily become distracted. Therefore, it is important to start training them as young as possible, using positive reinforcement methods such as treats, toys, and affection. With consistency and repeated training, Blonde labradors can learn a wide variety of commands and tasks. Additionally, some apartment complexes do not allow certain breeds, including Labradors, so it is important to check with your landlord before bringing home a new dog. Hot weather can be dangerous for labs, as they are prone to heat stroke. It is important to provide plenty of cold water and shade for a lab in hot weather, and to limit their time outdoors during the hottest hours. In cold weather, labradors should have access to a heat source and fresh water. How do you buy a Blonde Labrador? Below are details about how to buy a Blonde Labrador. Where to buy a Blonde Labrador Breeder Registries The simplest way to find a reputable breeder is through breeder registries. These registries have high standards that breeders must meet to be included, which eliminates unethical breeders. The AKC has a Labrador breeder registry. Finding Reputable Breeders You can certainly find reputable breeders outside breeder registries, but it requires more caution. These are less expensive than those bred for shows. Breeders who sell registered puppies are generally ethical. What do they do to ensure the health of their dogs? How do they select breeding pairs? An ethical breeder will always focus on the health and temperament of the dogs, instead of focusing on colors or other characteristics that bring the most money. You should also expect them to ask you questions. Reputable breeders want to be sure their dogs are going to good homes.

The intentions were to breed a miniature version of the English Bulldog. Check out this easy chihuahua drawing. Written step-by-step video tutorial: For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin. Step 1: Draw two circles as guides for the boxer's body. First draw four small marks for the height and width of the circle, then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. But the circles don't have to be perfect. They're just guides. If you do want a perfect circle, trace the outer rim of a coin, a lid or any other object with a circular edge. The circle on the left should be a lot smaller than the one on the right. Don't draw the circles too far apart, otherwise your boxer will end up with the body of a dachshund! Step 2: Draw another circle on the top, right side as a guide for the head. This circle should be about the same size as the circle for the body that's on the left side. Boxers have long necks compared to other breeds, like bulldogs, so don't draw this circle too close to the body. Step 3: Draw a curved horizontal line across the head. This is a construction line that will help you place the boxer's facial features later. Add a curved vertical line on the top right side of the head for another construction line. Step 4: Draw a small circle on the lower, right side of the head as a guide for the boxer's muzzle. Draw a small mark below the head first to determine the height of the circle. Then complete the circle using curved lines. This circle should be about one-third the size of the head. The lower, right side should extend outside of the dog's head. Step 5: Draw the guides for the boxer's ears as small triangles by first drawing a V-shaped line on the top, left side of the head. Complete the shape of the triangle by drawing a short line on top of the V-shaped line. The ear on the right side will be blocked by the head, so only draw two of the triangle's three sides.

Advice before making contact Tips and advice when contacting a breeder While we make every effort to ensure that the breeders listed on Perfect Pets are registered, responsible, and maintain high ethical standards, please take 5 minutes to read the advice below and also see our detailed information on finding a reputable breeder. Our recommendation is that you purchase pets locally and in person. For many reasons, it is always preferable that you meet and get to know the breeder and vice versa. While many reputable breeders send animals interstate safely and without issue, we do not encourage this. When you contact a breeder, keep in mind that responsible breeders will want some information about things like - the type of home you will offer, how much time you have for your new pet, if you have experience with the breed and if not, if you've researched the breed. Responsible breeders don't want to receive emails and messages that simply ask 'how much for a puppy? Please make sure the breed you are interested in suits your family and lifestyle, and that you can give it the type of home it needs to be happy. Above all - use common sense and don't be impulsive. Please ask the breeder these important questions: 1. Can you meet the mother and father, and how old are they? Have the mother and father had any health issues? What health checks and tests were done on the parents and grandparents, are they appropriate for the breed, and can this be verified with documentation? Specifically, what vaccines have been given? Are they microchipped and registered? Have they been treated for parasites fleas and worms , and what treatments were used? Have they been checked by a vet, and is there evidence of this? How much socialisation has the puppy or kitten had? If answered positively and appropriately the answers to these questions should reassure you that the puppy or kitten you're interested in will grow to be a happy healthy animal. Please note that information regarding breed specific health checks can at times be difficult to understand and interpret. Common genetic disorders are a serious and growing concern. It's not a bad idea to write down the information you've been given and seek advice from your vet for confirmation. Breed clubs are also great sources of information on health testing. A responsible and caring breeder will also want to make sure you are going to provide a loving and safe forever home, and will ask you lots of questions. They will also provide extensive advice regarding feeding, health, ongoing socialisation, and the long term needs of your pet. Please note that because Perfect Pets cannot be directly involved in interactions we cannot accept responsibility for any agreement entered into by a breeder and a pet buyer. Please follow the advice provided. Perfect Pets has no powers of enforcement and cannot guarantee the reputation of any breeder, or the soundness or suitability of the pet you choose. You must satisfy yourself that any pet you decide on is fit and healthy, and will fit with your family and lifestyle.

bulldog english bulldog puppies - It may or may not be normal for a Pug to: Pant Burp Have loud breathing Panting and loud breathing sounds are expected- to an extent- from Pugs of all ages - puppies to seniors. Because of how a Pug dog's head and snout is shaped, it is normal for this breed to have to catch their breath every now and then. With this said, heat stress or over-exercise can cause heavier than normal panting noises that require an immediate break from activity, a drink of water and possibly other treatment if the Pug cannot calm down. Since this dog breed overheats very quickly, panting will occur as soon as the dog begins to feel too hot; so this can often happen on hot or humid days or if your Pug ends up walking or running around longer than planned. If a Pug is making noises that appear to be stressed breathing, an owner should bring their dog into a cool environment and allow their Pug to rest. If this is happening, the dog is in distress; most likely from a blockage of some type. An elognated palate can be partially blocking the air way, causing loud breathing sounds. Stenotic Nares narrow or closed nostrils can also cause a Pug to struggle with normal breathing. Both of these issues are common health problems with the breed and often resolved with a surgical procedure. If a Pug dog burps, this may be triggered by the food that he is eating or the rate at which he is eating it. While you may not be able to eliminate all of the burping, making even small changes to his diet can help often the removal of a particular vegetable works. Additionally, obtaining a slow-eat bowl or portion pacer to add to an existing bowl allows for slower consumption of food which means less air is being gulped down. If the burping is excessive, this may point to an acid reflex problem and your vet should be made aware of just how often your Pug is indeed burping. Caring for your Pug Pugs can be highly entertaining dogs due to their big personalities and clownish nature. They generally do well in family environments where they have lots of company all of the time as they love to spend time with everybody. Pugs and barking As with any dog, your Pug is likely to make noise in one form or another. How much your dog barks will be down to them as an individual. Training and socialisation When it comes to training Pugs, although they are a clever breed they can also be very strong willed. Training needs to be ongoing and firm but fair. You can start positive, reward-based training from day one, whether you get your Pug old or young. Exercise Pugs can be prone to gaining weight that can make breathing problems worse, so it is important to keep them active and avoid any weight gain. Your Pug will need up to an hour of exercise a day. This should include shorter walks, with extra playtime and lots of brain-stimulating activities. Several shorter walks throughout the day can help to stop them from becoming too tired or overheated, which is a great way to keep them active throughout the day. Keep a close eye on your Pug as they can tire easily due to their difficulties getting enough oxygen. As soon as you start to notice them struggling to breathe, stop and make sure they get enough of a rest. You will also need to avoid exercising them in the heat as this can cause even more problems since they can be at higher risk of heatstroke. Grooming Even though their coats are short, Pugs can still shed loads. Luckily, they tend to love being groomed as it means a lot of attention all on them. Pay close attention to the folds in their skin, as these are the perfect breeding ground for bacterial and fungal infections if left damp. You can teach your Pug from an early age to love tooth brushing and nail clipping so you can keep those pearly whites and paws in great condition. Pugs and children Pugs adore company and really love people of all ages. They often get on well with children, especially if the Pug loves to play. As with every breed, you should always teach children how to approach and play with dogs with care and kindness, to prevent any issues. Always supervise children and vulnerable people with your Pug and make sure you can recognise the signs of unhappiness or anxiety in your dog to help avoid any conflicts. Pugs and other pets Pugs are known for getting along well with other pets and dogs. Introductions still need to be done carefully, though, just in case. Good, kind training will also help them become well-rounded dogs that keep calm in new situations. Your vet or vet nurse will be able to tell you how much your dog should be eating. If you give your dog an occasional treat or use treats for training, remember to take this into account and reduce their daily food allowance. You should try to feed your dog at the same time every day to get them into a routine. Remember to leave a gap after eating and before exercising. Beware unusually cheap puppies as they could come from a puppy farm. These breeders must do extra health tests and meet higher standards for breeding. See our advice on what you need to know about flat faced pets and how to choose a healthier pedigree pet. Set-up costs Puppy vaccines — if you rescue a dog, some centres will vaccinate them for you. Remember that ongoing booster vaccinations will be needed to continue their immunity. Neutering — you should usually arrange for your dog to be neutered at around six months old, though your vet will be able to advise you exactly when is best. Check prices at your local practice as these will depend on your vet and where you live. Some rescue centres will have already neutered the dogs they rehome where appropriate. Equipment — including a collar and tags, lead, harness, dog beds, dog bowls, pet-safe toothpaste and toothbrushes, grooming brushes and toys. Keep in mind that all these will need to be replaced with wear or if your dog outgrows them! Ongoing costs Food. Preventive healthcare — budget for routine vet visits to help stop your dog getting ill and catching any problems early. They need annual check-ups, vaccinations and regular flea and worming treatments. Check if your vet offers a health care plan as this can help spread the cost throughout the year. Accessories — including lots of poo bags, replacing worn toys and grooming accessories, buying doggy toothpaste and any other extras they might need. Other costs Training — basic training is very important and dogs can benefit from formal classes. Some dogs may have, or develop, behavioural problems which might need professional management. Boarding — you may also need to budget for boarding or dog sitting costs if you are planning to go away from home on holiday. If you are having difficulty with veterinary costs, you can check if you are eligible for treatment at PDSA here. A group of Pugs is called a grumble! Pugs are an ancient breed, dating back to Ancient China where they were bred for Emperors. Pugs were bred to be companions, which is why they love people so much. Getting a Pug Do plenty of research before you get a Pug. Although they are loveable and friendly, they are sadly likely to get a lot of health issues more so than many other breeds. Rehoming centres There are plenty of rescue centres across the country where you may find a Pug. Breed-specific rescues specialising in Pugs are out there too. Good rescue centres should let you know of any existing health and behaviour problems. Breeders If you buy from a breeder, make sure your puppy will have been well socialised and have all necessary health checks and vaccinations. We recommend looking for a Kennel Club Assured breeder as they meet higher standards. Not sure if a Pug is the right pet for you? Post by: Dr. Wendy Hauser opens new window Snort! Have you ever wondered why your cat or dog makes weird noises like these? Baying Baying is a long, deep, and throaty barking noise that dogs make when they are pursuing prey. For instance, Bassett Hounds, Beagles, Bloodhounds, Foxhounds, and other scent dogs bay to let their human companions know they are hot on the trail. Dogs might also bay when they perceive a threat, such as an unfamiliar person encroaching on their territory. Chatter Some cats chatter as they stare eagerly out the window watching a bird in a tree or a chipmunk scampering around the yard. That chattering noise is in response to the excitement of watching these critters combined with the frustration of not being able to get at them. One theory on chattering is that the cat is mimicking the sounds of birds or rodents to draw them in closer where they can pounce on them. However, this is unlikely since cats are stealthy hunters who sneak up on their prey. They wouldn't want to warn them that they were coming. Chirps A cat chirping like a bird can sure sound funny! Those chirping noises are related to the sounds mother cats make to get the attention of their kittens. For instance, playing around with a catnip-filled toy might make a cat chirp with joy. Why does catnip make cats go bonkers? Learn all about this plant and why it does what it does to our cats. Gagging If you hear your pet gagging, you should investigate the issue because they could be choking on something. You can try to remove whatever is in their mouth with a gentle sweep of your fingers. Make a fist and put it under the bottom ribs. Push up several times to expel the object. A hard blow between the shoulders blades can also help in some situations. If your pet is unconscious, you might need to perform CPR to revive them. In any case, take your pet to the veterinarian as soon as possible. In addition to a swallowed object, gagging can have other causes, such as: Kennel Cough, which sounds like dry coughing followed by a gagging sound Parasites, such as roundworms Hairball being coughed up Why do cats cough up hairballs? Learn more. Hacking Like gagging, hacking is another sound cats make as they cough up hairballs. Hacking can also be caused by Kennel Cough, allergies, asthma, upper respiratory infection, or heartworms. If your pet is hacking a lot, a visit to the veterinarian is in order to diagnose and treat the underlying issue. Honking A dog honking like a goose can sound awfully silly, but it can be a sign of a serious problem called tracheal collapse. Some air can get in and cause the crazy honking noise. Tracheal collapse can often be treated with cough suppressants and other medications to help keep the airway open. In more severe cases, surgery might be necessary to repair the trachea. If your dog is honking, you should visit your veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment recommendations. If your dog needs surgery for tracheal collapse or other issues, Complete CoverageSM can help you manage the costs. Get a free quote. Reverse Sneezing Reverse sneezing is actually not a sneeze at all. This noise, which sounds like a long, drawn-out snort, is caused by a spasm of the soft palette. During this spasm, the airway narrows making it hard for the dog to breathe. It can have a number of causes, including: Allergens, such as pollen or dust mites Perfumes or scented candles Foreign body or mites in the nose or throat areas Viral infection Anxiety Overexcitement Reverse sneezing usually stops on its own with no lasting ill effects. If you want to intervene, you can try to encourage your dog to swallow by gently stroking the throat in a downward motion or covering the nostrils with your fingers for a few seconds. You should mention these episodes to your veterinarian at your next visit. In severe cases, surgery might be needed to remove the soft palette. Sleep Barking Why do dogs bark in their sleep? Our four-legged friends go into a stage of deep REM sleep where they can have all kinds of doggie dreams — from digging holes to chasing birds. And when they dream, they might twitch, bark, and whine. Cats can also dream and have been known to make chattering and chirping noises in their sleep. In fact, it might be best to avoid waking them up. They need that REM sleep. Plus, they can be confused, upset, and even lash out if they are startled awake. Use a gentle voice to coax them back from the Land of Nod. Once they are awake, you can comfort them if they seem distressed. Sneezing A pet sneeze is the same as a people sneeze. If the sneezing is excessive or there are other symptoms, such as a runny nose or eyes, talk to your veterinarian. Snoring Does your dog or cat saw wood when they sleep? Back sleepers, in particular, are prone to snoring. Snoring tends to be more common in cats, like Persians, with shorter noses as well as short-muzzled dogs like Bulldogs , Shih Tzu , and Pugs. For instance, you can buy a back-sleeping dog a round pet bed, which can encourage them to snooze quietly curled up instead of on their back. Snorting Snorting is similar to a sneeze in that it expels air out of the mouth and nose. But unlike a sneeze, snorts are done on purpose. Snorting dogs or cats are often reacting to something that is irritating their nose, like an allergen or a bit of dirt. It can also be caused by a virus or sinus infection. An occasional snort is likely no big deal, but you should talk with your veterinarian if your pet is snorting a lot. There might be something more serious causing all that noise. You should also have your pet checked out if there are other symptoms that could indicate a health issue. Yowling A good, loud cat yowl can cut right through a person! Incessant yowling can also be an indicator of an illness or injury that requires a visit to the veterinarian. bulldog english bulldog puppies - Paprika [Retired] Welcome to Gander Acres! We breed our labs for those that are looking for a great companion dog, hunting partner, with show potential, or just a wonderful family pet, docile- yet eager to please. At the Hoerter homestead acclimation to family life and children is vital. Thanks to our Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren this topic is covered on a daily basis, from whelping day until they leave for their new home; love and affection abounds. We pride in perfection and love. The Labrador Retriever has always been a part of our game farm. During the 40's, 50's, and 60's my father raised, trained, and hunted his beautiful labs. In I received my own yellow lab named Spike. The many memories created with Spike remain close to my heart even after 60 years. After my time spent in the US Coast Guard in the 70's we received a lab to raise with our new young family. A year hasn't gone by since then, that we haven't had a lab as a part of our family. We are confident in saying we guarantee our puppies to be the highest quality available. We love our Fox Reds! We also raise a limited number of black and chocolate English Labradors throughout the year. Our dogs and pups are our life and passion; each pup we raise is lovingly cared for- from the time of birth, until the time of adoption into their forever home. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site; please stay awhile and browse through our gorgeous photos. From the time of birth to the time of adoption into their new homes, Redwood pups are spoiled with the best of everything. Along with the superior care that our pups receive, it is of equal importance to us that our adults also are given the best care possible. Each adult is a part of our family, and treated that way. It's important to us that they are properly trained, loved, and are well behaved just as a single family pet would be. We spend numerous hours with our dogs each day, ensuring they receive plenty of play time and proper exercise. This is, and always will be our 1 Goal as breeders. We carefully select each and every dog for our breeding program, so as to remove potential health issues in our pups before they exist. We have AKC registered Labrador puppies available to companion homes a few times a year. We take pride in having unique pedigrees without the inbreeding that most Fox Red Labrador kennels have. We concentrate on quality of puppies, never quantity. We compete in conformation showing, pet therapy and obedience with our dogs. We have placed our Labradors with guide dog and service dog trainers many times over the years. We are happy to provide references on request as most of our puppy buyers come back for a second or third puppy and also refer their family and friends. Our labs are part of our family and they enjoy our acreage in rural Jasper County Iowa. Our Labradors are gentle, calm and loving. They are easy to live with retrievers that are great fireside companions and also able to perform as working gun dogs. They know no strangers in life and we enjoy sharing them with the families who adopt our puppies. We have made many friends all over the USA and the world thanks to our great dogs. Fox Red Labradors are a rare-colored version of the Labrador Retriever. Despite this, they can be registered as purebred Yellow Labrador Retrievers , as the darker-colored coat is not considered to be a disqualifying factor. Due to their unique and certainly eye-catching color, the Fox Red Labrador continues to grow in popularity. Labrador Retrievers are known for being exceptionally sweet and are one of the most affectionate dog breeds. These dogs yearn to be a part of a family, and fit right in when joining one. In fact, Labs are considered one of the kid-friendly dog breeds. Well-socialized Fox Red Labradors tend to get along well with children, other dogs, other pets, and even strangers. After all, every person they meet is a potential friend that they can play with. Labrador Retrievers are one of the most active dog breeds. Despite their energy, Fox Red Labradors can adapt to most settings. As long as this dog breed has a chance to get in daily walks, go outside to run and play, and they get plenty of attention, they are content. They are not overly affected by cold weather, but they have a dense double coat. Fox Red Retrievers are also happiest when in the presence of people and they love to be with their families whenever possible. They also have a lot of energy and get bored easily. Potential health concerns to be aware of in Fox Red Labrador Retrievers can include hereditary myopathy, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia , progressive retinal atrophy, heart disease, and cataracts. There is also a condition with a genetic link that can occur in young adult Labradors called exercise-induced collapse EIC. Carriers can be identified by DNA tests. Good breeding practices can reduce the risk of potential health issues and make a big difference in the health of Fox Red Lab puppies. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. Make sure you ask about the health and genetic history of both parents and about any health tests or clearances. The national breed club recommends hip and elbow evaluations, an EIC DNA test, and an ophthalmologist evaluation at a minimum. As a large, deep-chested dog breed, the Fox Red Labrador Retriever is at a higher risk of bloat. Bloat in dogs can be dangerous and can become fatal if the stomach flips gastric torsion. Labrador Retrievers are one of the smartest dog breeds and are highly trainable. Although they can become stubborn at times, they are eager to please and pick up on training quickly overall. Their energy and intelligence mean they can lose focus in training and get bored easily. However, training that is kept clear, consistent, and focused on positive rewards usually keeps them focused and responding well. Any color variant of the Labrador Retriever is ideal for beginner dog owners. Fox Red Labrador Retrievers have a short, dense double coat that is water-resistant. They shed year-round and more heavily as the seasons change. Brushing their coat a few times a week and daily brushing during seasonal shedding is usually enough to keep their coat healthy and looking great. Bathing is on an occasional, as-needed basis. Because their coat tends to protect them from the cold and they are one of the dog breeds that tend to love water , your Fox Red Lab may try to go for a swim regardless of the season. If they are an avid swimmer or tend to get into a lot of things, you may need to bathe them more often. It is highly recommended to give them a bath or at least rinse them off thoroughly after going swimming with your dog. Their nails should be trimmed once or twice monthly. This will help prevent ear infections. Proper dental care for dogs is essential for preventing the tartar buildup that lends to dental diseases like gum disease and tooth decay. Brushing their teeth or using an enzyme toothpaste every day is a good start. You can also supplement your dental care efforts with dental hygiene chews, a special dental care diet, and more. Like other Labs, Fox Red Labrador Retrievers are high-energy dogs that require a lot of daily activity to be happy and healthy. Daily walks plus playtime, time to run, and other activities are usually enough for this dog. However, they will likely always be up for more activity if you are. Often, they are just happy to be spending time with you. Labs tend to have an extended puppyhood until they are around years old. They will mellow out a little, but also tend to maintain a puppy-like exuberance even in their senior years. Once they are done growing and your vet has cleared them for more activities, you can try a lot of different things. Labs are athletic and versatile dogs. They are one of the sturdy dog breeds for outdoor adventures and tend to enjoy a variety of activities. They tend to excel in swimming, running, obstacle courses, and several dog sports. Fully-grown Fox Red Labrador Retrievers usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. Fox Red Labs generally live for years on average.
