Ruthie is a beautiful black girl born in Aug .She is a busy girl and a bit of an adjustment to this "senior" fold, although Sammie has taken of the role of big sister, and Sugar just tolerates her. Ruthie is such a sweetie, very bright and always in to something. Her favorite playmate is our big, black old cat, Zoro! Sugar, our white pug was adopted in at the age of 3. She came to us looking pretty pitiful and had recently whelped a litter. She is a bit slow to trust and had some unusual behaviors in the beginning, but over the years has risen to the status of "queen" of the grumble and enjoys her life here at the farm. Transportation info: Air travelers should be advised that puppies of these breeds are often too large to fit in under-seat carriers by eight weeks, and because of our desert temperatures, airlines departing from Phoenix Sky Harbor will not accept animals in their baggage compartments between roughly May and October. We will release puppies at seven weeks to accommodate air travelers, and strongly recommend use of a soft-sided under-seat carrier. Check ahead of time with your chosen airline, because each airline has its own rules, and a few do not accept animals at all. We specifically breed this mix of Golden Retriever and Yellow Labrador —America's top two favorite breeds —because we and many other people find them appealing. She's even become best playmates with one of our burros! Our most enthusiastic swimmer, she "dock dives" almost completely across our pool after her favorite ball. At 21" and 65 lbs. She is extremely good-natured and obedient, and was a wonderful mother. Annie's sire is Drake, a papered and certified chocolate Lab from off-Ranch. Luke, by Fergus out of Tracy was our second-generation mix: strong, healthy, and playful at 95 pounds, 27" at the shoulder. That's Luke as a puppy at the top of this page. He had his dad's fox-red coloring and his mom's Golden-style "feathers" on legs and tail, plus the beautiful white chest blaze that is a constant marker in our line. Like Fergus, he was a "leg-leaner" who loved attention and was very eager to please, and sired many puppies with Sandy, Heidi, and Honey. Fergus founded our breedline. He was a strapping 98 pounds none of it fat , 27" at the shoulder, with a block head and fox-red coloring. Luke All our adult dogs have been trained for obedience and snake avoidance, and have learned to communicate their needs and wants very effectively. Some exceptions may be made in special situations. While some of our dogs come from loving homes, all have been unexpectedly uprooted. Many come with training, confidence-building, or care needs that should be supported with positive reinforcement, patience, and ample time to bring out the best in your new companion. Their average life span is 10 to 13 years. One condition you need to prevent is heat stroke. Since this breed has a dense and double coat, they do not tolerate heat as much as they tolerate cold weather. You should protect your puppy from overexposure to the sun and keep it well hydrated. He has his 16th month check-up on the 15th. I am curious to see how much he has grown in a month. He is a sweet-tempered dog. He is also extremely smart. He has been easily trained, house and in general. His mother was a one-year-old Golden Retriever and his dad was the Siberian Husky. Both were full-breed. His mom's name was Molly and dad was Smokey. Mom was all brown of course and dad was brownish, grey and white.
