From coat to color, personality to temperament, grooming to health. What is a Red Labradoodle? The Red Labradoodle as a Hybrid But what you need to know first is that, underneath all that fur, your Labradoodle dog carries genes from two purebred dogs. The Standard Poodle and the Labrador Retriever. This is why the Labradoodle is called a hybrid breed as it has parents from two different purebred lineages. There is technically no such thing as a purebred Labradoodle. A red Labradoodle that has one miniature Poodle parent and one Labrador Retriever parent is called a mini-Labradoodle. Because the Labradoodle is a hybrid dog breed that was first developed in Australia, sometimes this dog is also called the Australian Labradoodle. It is the crucial time when you have to be ready for any situation, as it is the time when the health of your puppy is shaped. Day 1 During this day mother-dog will feed her babies with Colostrum. This is a milky liquid that contains a lot of nutrients, providing the puppies with vital antibodies. This day can be called a " sleepy day", as the puppies will sleep almost all the time when not drinking. If the puppies' bodies are warm, they breathe naturally and make soft noises, they are full and fine. On the first day the puppies cannot eliminate waists from their organism themselves yet, so their mother will lick them to stimulate this process. Boxer puppies have their eyes still closed and it will stay this way for days. The umbilical cord still remains, as it is rather damp and not ready to fall off. Day 2 On this day your puppies can lose weight. Don't be afraid, it is absolutely normal. However, take care that the larger puppies don't push the weaker puppies off the nipple. But those first weeks of puppy development are very similar whatever the breed, and these landmarks are good general rules for any dog. Puppy development week by week, changes quickly. Newborn Puppies Newborn puppies are born at the end of nine weeks of pregnancy, with their eyes and ears tightly closed. They already have a fur coat but they cannot yet control their own body temperature. They are dependent on their mother or another heat source to keep them warm. Newborn puppies may cry if cold. Six weeks old and full of mischief Puppies Still Have a Lot to Learn at 6 Weeks In some countries, puppies are taken to their new homes at this age.
