Properly socialized Labs are usually very gentle with cats and other small animals, too. Along with Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers are some of the most commonly used working dogs. They are often trained for police work, or as service dogs or therapy dogs. The prominence of Labradors as working dogs has to do with the fact they are a highly intelligent breed. Fox Red Labradors are no different. Your Fox Red Labrador will likely be very easy to train thanks to its cleverness and overwhelming eagerness to please. Keep in mind, this intelligence can mean trouble, though. Their playful personalities and gentle natures make them excellent family dogs. However, Labs are strong dogs , which is important to remember if they will be spending a lot of time with people who are very young or very old. It is also extremely important that all parents teach their children how to respect dogs. Even the gentlest dog can nip or bite when it is startled awake, has its food taken away, or is hurt by a child pulling on its ears or tail. This terrible disease eventually leads to blindness, so it may be a good idea to have your Lab periodically examined by a canine ophthalmologist. This way your puppy will know your voice and be ready when you take your puppy home. This is why it is important in my opinion for you to make your selection as soon as you can. This way, they are familiar with it and I feel that it makes the puppies transition to your home easier. We currently own 10 poodles. They all have different personalities, but they all fit with our family. Your poodle will fit with your personality too. She has completely weened them at 6 weeks. I watch the puppies so close every day. At 6 weeks old, they start to bond with me and our family. They are ready to go home and give you lots of puppy love at 6 weeks. Your puppy will be taken care of by our family until it goes home. We will weigh them almost every day and record their weight and any comments that we have. We love and play with the puppies every day. There are 4 poodle loving adults on our farm that love to socialize your puppy. We will send the records that we keep as well as my vet records and vet health check home with you. If we see a problem, we will call our local vet immediately. We will let you know if there are ever any problems. We will be very transparent with you throughout the entire process. They will have their tails docked and dew claws removed. Our vet will make sure they are up to date on their vaccinations. They will also have a vet health check. Our puppies will never see the dirt ground until they have had their vaccinations. They will be on a minimum of receiving wormer at least every 2 weeks. We start bathing your puppy at 4 weeks. They will be used to being bathed, hair dried, and brushed. We do try to have some of our friends, children come play with the puppies to have them ready for children. We will stay in touch with you even after your puppy is home to make sure everything is going well. We do have a couple of people we use to transport pets. We will transport to most places in the United States. I am happy to supply you the names and phone numbers of the transports we use. You are certainly welcome to use anyone of your choice. However, I do want to visit with your transport before you exchange any money. I just want to make sure our puppies are traveling in a safe environment. Every litter is protected from communicable diseases by allowing no one outside our family or those with deposits near them until one week after their first series of shots. All puppies are given a series of shots at 6 and 8 weeks of age. Every puppy is wormed before going home with their new family. Every puppy full price will be micro-chipped at 8 weeks of age Grooming: Since Poodles will be groomed their entire life, we begin at birth by getting them accustomed to being handled. At four weeks old puppies are introduced to the process of grooming by having their face and feet trimmed, and will be trimmed weekly thereafter. Training: We have children in our family and friends who regularly visit, and therefore all puppies are taught early on that jumping on and nipping at people is unacceptable behavior. At birth we begin neuro stimulation which increases brain activity and is proven to create the building blocks of smarter and more confident pups. By 4 weeks old we begin playing Puppy games during feeding time which teaches pups self control, patience, observance, and respect for human boundaries. German Shepherd care German Shepherd puppy diet: newborn For a German Shepherd puppy to develop and grow properly, it is imperative that they first nurse on their mother's milk. The first milk they receive is a protein and antibody-rich type of milk known as colostrum. This gives the puppy's immune and central nervous systems a boost. They then progress on to regular breast milk. Puppies will nurse for at least 6 to 8 weeks, gradually being weaned on to solid food at about 4 weeks. You must teach your puppy to use the puppy pads, not to chew on them. To do this, put the puppy pad on the floor and interrupt your puppy if he tries to play with it. Exchange for another toy and reward with treats for not grabbing the pad with his mouth he can however, stand or sit on it. Repeat until he learns this! If you have a backyard, a doggy-door is an excellent way to give your pup access to the outdoors without your help. You must teach him how to use it! Use a treat to lure him through the door many times until he can do it on his own! Then, every-time you take him outside, make him go though the door on his own. You can also teach your puppy to let you know when he needs to go outside! Use a doggy doorbells for this purpose. You must teach your dog how to use them! First, teach your dog to touch the bells. Then, ask your dog to touch the bells every time before you open the door to let him go outside. Finally, be alert for when he does it on his own!
