For the boys its terrific that the oldest males can still sire puppies if they are still passing their heart exams. If none were bred, there would be no cavaliers left the heart problem is so common. Fortunately they now often live a long life without needing medication, or only at the end of life. Before, and still happening in lines that no testing is done, they often only live until 6 to 8 years due to severe heart problems. Without testing you can assume they have bad hearts.
