She had been fully vaccinated, dewormed, tested negative for heartworms, lymes disease, and erlichia and is on Proheart6, the new 6 month heartworm shot. She is scheduled to be spayed soon. Rosie was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which is under control with daily medication. She had also suffered from flea bite dermatitis, which turned into a secondary skin infection that caused her to loose a lot of hair on her rump. As he was found to be heartworm positive his chances in the shelter were probably pretty slim, so we decided to take him back to Washington, DC with us.
